“Making family the first priority is the key to that, Ky.” He ran his hand through my hair. “When you think of family first and foremost, work finds its place. You want to be a teacher, right?”
I nodded. “I really do. But I want to be a mom too. And right now I don’t know how to be both.”
“Couldn’t you take a job at a pre-k and kindergarten where Conan will be going?” he asked.
I nodded. “But then I’d have to leave this baby with a nanny.” My eyes glazed over. “I don’t want another person raising my kid.”
“Then stay home if you want to. It’s up to you, Baby. Whatever you want to do is fine with me, you should know that.” I saw his cock thumping back to life, and he eased onto the bed next to me. Kissing me softly, he caressed my skin.
My chest rose and fell as our lips parted and his eyes held mine as I said, “Right now, I want this baby more than I want anything else. Right now, I want to be only a wife and a mother. And you’re saying that will be fine with you?”
Nodding, he kissed me again before saying, “You can be whatever you want to be, Ky. I’ll always have your back no matter what you want.”
Alex
“You want what?” I asked my eight-months-pregnant wife as she’d blown my mind with her request.
Her face stone-cold serious, she said it again, “Banana pudding with sour pickles in it.”
“Gross,” Conan said as he made a silly face. “That baby is making you crazy, Mom.”
Tabby added, “Chef Rudy will never make that for you, Mom. You better think of something else to eat for breakfast.”
Ky wasn’t giving up. “I’ve been thinking about eating that all night long. If I could’ve waddled my way to the kitchen last night, I would’ve made it myself. But you wouldn’t wake up when I tapped you, Alex.”
I’d heard her mumbling about wanting to eat something and had ignored her. But I didn’t want her to know that. “I’m sorry, Baby.” Ky had gained too much weight with the pregnancy, and I knew that was mostly because of those crazy cravings that she’d always give in to.
Tabby pulled out Ky’s chair at the breakfast table. “Here, Mom. Take a load off.”
Ky blew a chunk of hair out of her face as she sat down. “Thanks, Tab. If your little sister doesn’t come soon, I’m going to turn into a beached whale.”
“Yeah, you’ve gotten pretty big, Mom,” Tabby said, making Ky’s face fall. “Way bigger than when you had Coco in your tummy.”
“Tabby,” I snapped. “Mom’s a little sensitive about her size, Honey.
“No, she’s right,” Ky began to cry. “I’m huge.”
Tabby knew she’d said the wrong thing and tried to fix it, “Mom, I’m sorry. I know that you’re big right now, but once little Sabrina comes, you’ll go back to normal size. I promise.”
Ky used the linen napkin to wipe her tears and blew her nose as I looked at Conan. “Can you go grab your mother another napkin?”
“Sure, Dad.” He ran off to the kitchen.
Tabby’s eyes met mine, and I could see how sorry she was to have said anything to set Ky off. “I’ll be right back.” She headed to the kitchen too.
Ky looked at me as she’d gathered herself. “I’m sorry. My hormones are all out of whack. I shouldn’t have cried. God knows I know I’m as big as a house. Anything anyone says about me being big shouldn’t get to me.”
“You’re still gorgeous, Ky.” I leaned over to kiss her chubby cheek.
“I think you have to say that since you’re the daddy of this little ballerina who dances all night and day in my belly.” She ran her hand over her round tummy. “I can’t wait for her to come on out of there.”
The kids came back in, Conan with a new napkin and Tabby with a broad smile as she said, “Get ready for some banana pudding with sour pickles in it, Mom. I begged Chef Rudy until he gave in.”
“My hero,” Ky said with a smile as she held out her arms. “Come let me give you a hug, Tabby. You’re Momma’s biggest helper.”
Tabby ran into Ky’s arms, and my heart swelled with love and pride. “My family.” I shook my head. “It’s hard to believe it’s still growing.”
Conan took his seat, handing the napkin to me. “Mom, after this baby, I’m gonna need a brother. I can’t be the only boy around here.”
Ky nodded in my direction. “You’ve got your father. You’re not the only boy around here, Conan. I’m going to need a break from babies for a while after your sister is born.”
And I was sure she meant that too. “You’ll just have to be okay with having me as your best pal, Conan.” I was completely cool with that.
Ky’s face went beet red for a moment; then she looked at me as she held her breath. I couldn’t tell what was going on with her, but something wasn’t right. “Ky, you okay?”
She shook her head, and Tabby shouted, “She’s having the baby!”
“No,” I gasped.
Ky nodded then finally took a breath. “Alex, I can feel something between my legs.”
“No, no, no.” I got up and turned her chair to the side then looked at the kids. “Turn your heads, please.”
They were quick to do what I’d said, then I pulled her dress up and saw blood running down both her legs. “How long have you been having contractions, Baby?”
“That was the first one, I swear,” she whimpered. “And here comes another one, Alex!”
I had to get her onto a flat surface; things were progressing way too fast. Looking at Tabby, I told her what I needed her to do, “Tabby, go tell Rudy to call 911 and tell them there’s a woman here in her eighth month of pregnancy who is in active labor and we need paramedics here now.”
“Got it, Dad.” Tabby ran off.
Conan was frozen as I looked at him. “Conan, go with your sister. I’m taking Mom to the next room to lie down on a sofa.”
He nodded then took off like a flash. Ky’s face went red with another contraction then she let her breath out, saying, “Alex, you’re going to have to deliver this baby. I can feel it moving down.”
“No!” I picked her up and carried her out of the breakfast nook and into the next sitting area where I put her on the leather sofa. “Hold on, Ky. You can hold on.”
“No, I can’t.” Her hands fisted as she groaned with another contraction and broke into a sweat. “God! Alex, please!”
Taking my shirt off, I knew I had to have something to catch the baby with. I propped her legs up then yanked her panties off. And there I saw it. A ton of black hair. “Oh, shit.”
Ky screamed, and the entire head popped out. “Oh, God!”
“Oh, God,” I echoed her as the shoulders slipped out too. “Oh, Jesus help me!”
Not a minute later, I held our daughter, wrapped in my shirt, in my arms. My baby girl looked up at me after making a short cry. “She’s got your eyes, Ky.” I used the sleeve of my shirt to rub some of the blood out of her hair and saw it wasn’t nearly as dark as mine. “And I think she’s going to have ash-blonde hair like you too, Baby.”
Ky sighed and closed her eyes. “Well, seems like our happily ever after just keeps on going, Babe. Now give me that baby and find something to cover me up with before everyone in this house sees me like this.”

I watched her dancing without a care in the world and knew I had to make her mine…
The way her body moved captivated me in a way nothing ever had.
Wild, young, free—she was all I never was.
Broken early on in life, my youth stolen, I’d never felt free a day in my life.
Until her body pressed against mine and our souls collided in the process…
I felt his eyes ravaging my body before he ever touched me…
Tall, dark, handsome, and totally brooding, he had my attention from the moment I saw him.

nbsp; Most would’ve been afraid of the man who looked like he’d seen things no human was ever meant to see.
Not me, though.
No, I wanted those eyes on me, hands on me, c*ck inside of me.
But what I hadn’t counted on was falling in love…

“Yeah, Boss, I’ve got it all hammered down out here,” I told Alex as I came into the house to join in the festivities. He and Ky had finally tied the knot, and the weather outside made it impossible to hold the reception outdoors the way they’d planned.
I’d had to scramble to get more security onsite at the Arlen Mansion, but I’d accomplished the goal and now was ready to become their guest. I needed a break from work anyway.
Things had gone kind of nuts the last few months. Alex got into an accident that nearly killed him. Along with that, we lost two of the other bodyguards as they were called back into service.
I’d been asked to go back, too, but had declined the generous offer. I’d seen enough in my day—even before I saw action in Syria. My life had been as close to hell as I wanted to get, then I joined the Navy anyway. Being a SEAL showed me that no matter how awful my life had been, some had it far worse.
Neglect and physical abuse along with mental torture were bad alright. But when you added to that the fear of terrorists coming into your home to torment and tear you limb from limb, well, you have the makings of a real horror story on your hands.
The children I’d seen in Syria had it far worse than I’d ever had it. That alone made me feel as if I’d been a sniveling brat before I learned how hard life really could be.
The sounds of people laughing and having a good time met my ears as I eased into the crowded room. The lights were dim, the music loud, and the ballroom resembled a nightclub. I’d never felt right at those kinds of things. The noise made things in me spark—and not in a good way.
Ky had invited a lot of her friends from her college days. Youth was virtually everywhere. I’d lost my youth early on—if I ever had it. I was three when my father left us. My mother may as well have not been there either, for all the good she did. My younger brother and sister only had me to depend on to get them food and water when they needed it.
I was five before I realized not all children run around stark naked. It was then that I really took on the role of the adult in our ramshackle house.
Having to tell one’s mother that she needed to, at the very least, have clothes for us to wear isn’t a thing a kid should have to do, but I’d had to do just that.
Shaking my head to clear it, I tried to push back the negative memories that plagued me. A waiter walked by with a tray of glasses full of champagne. “Care for a drink?”
Nodding, I took one off the tray. “Thanks.” Maybe it would help to bring me out of my own mind for a change.
As I gulped down the foul-tasting liquid, I saw a woman dancing. Her arms in the air, her ass shaking with wild abandonment, she took my attention away from every other person in the room.
Dark hair hung down to the top of that gyrating ass—silky, straight, and black as night. I’d seen her before at the ceremony. Carla was her name, and I knew my boss’s little brother was after her. But she wasn’t looking at him. She wasn’t looking at anyone as she danced like no one was watching—or she didn’t care who watched.
Caramel-colored skin and dark brown eyes full of soul and substance. I had the feeling she’d lived her life just the way she wanted to. She had that look that said she was free, and no one was going to change that.
Although I admired that hellbent spirit to live life on her own terms and to never be tamed, something inside of me yearned to do just that— to tame her.
To make her dance only for me, to make her whimper only under my touch, to watch her disintegrate into a puddle of lustful passion at my feet—that’s all I wanted. My cock jerked as she turned toward me, her head down as she swayed like a wave on a calm sea. The music slowed, and her body slowed with it as if it alone controlled her.
I want to control her.
Another waiter came by with glasses full of liquid meant to ease inhibitions. I had many inhibitions, so I accepted one and took a nice long drink as I tried to look elsewhere.
That young woman didn’t need me in her bed or her life. She had it all going on, and all I’d do was wreck it. That was all I was good for—tearing people apart.
There wasn’t a soul that I’d ever cared for that I hadn’t hurt. Why would she be any different?
And why should I even care?
Carla
I felt eyes on me. I was used to that, though. Lots of people were intrigued by the free way I danced. I didn’t care who looked, didn’t care who thought I was crazy. When I got out on the dance floor, I danced the same way I loved life—with wild abandon.
Cooped up as a child with over-protective parents, I’d blossomed in college when I finally got out on my own. No one would ever push me back down again; I’d never allow that to happen to me.
My parents meant well, and I didn’t hate them for keeping me so sheltered in my younger years. But I wasn’t going to go back to being under anyone’s thumb. Life wasn’t meant to be spent looking out the window at the world that passed by; it was meant to be lived, not observed.
The music had changed from a hard beat to a slow rhythm, and my body went along with it. I knew Andrew’s eyes were on me. The best man had the hots for me and didn’t even try to hide it. But I wasn’t into him.
It had been a while since anyone had really done it for me. I’d begun to wonder what was going on with my libido. I raised my head and saw a man standing at the outer edge of the crowd, a drink in his hand and his dark eyes on me.
He didn’t look away as I looked right into those eyes. One thin line ran across his forehead as he held those dark eyes of his in a slight squint. It made him look as if he was doing it on purpose.
I figured he’d had a scowl on his face most of his life, and it was fixed in place. But if he was truly happy, I knew that line would disappear, and his eyes would open up wide.
I moved toward him, slow and steady, as I thought I’d like to see a smile on his handsome face instead of the line his lips formed. Those eyes opened wide, inviting me in, began to fill me. Once my mind and body got set on something, it wasn’t likely they could be stopped.
Easing up to him, I held my hand out. He placed the half-drank glass in my hand, and I downed the bitter alcohol, then handed the empty glass back to him. Giving him a come-hither wiggle of my finger, I moved backward and felt excitement course through my body as he came to me.
Our eyes held as he slipped one arm around me, cradling my waist in one massive hand. I nearly gasped as a current of electricity so strong I nearly lost my balance moved through me.
He moved another arm around me, pulling my body flush against his. The sound of music left my ears as blood rushed through me, straight to my sex that pulsed and ached to be filled by his cock. A cock that I had no doubts was huge as it throbbed against me.
Moving slowly back and forth to the slow beat, he looked into my eyes, neither of us saying one word. In those dark depths, I saw more than I’d ever seen in anyone’s eyes before: pain, sorrow, hurt, and abuse filled them.
Lifting my hands, I cradled his gorgeous face in them. Still, no words came from me to say to him to make things better. All I wanted to do was make that anguish go away for him. I couldn’t think of anything other than that. He needed it all to just go away.
I’d lived trapped inside a home for almost my whole life. I could clearly see this massive man, a man who looked more like a superhero than a broken soldier, was trapped—trapped inside of his own mind. I had to let him out. I had to set him free. Free from hurt. Free from pain. Free from the dungeon he’d gone into inside of his head.
With still not a thing said between us, I pulled his face down to mine. Our lips met with an explosion of passion, the likes of which I had no idea could happen.
Everythi
ng faded away, even the loud music vanished as we kissed. Things flashed through my head: me wearing a white wedding dress, me holding a baby, me smiling at this man as he looked down at me while we made love.
I’d never made love in my life. I’d had sex. I’d fucked. But I’d never made love.
His arms held me in a way that made me feel safe. His mouth worked mine in a way that made me feel as if he could take my body and make it his. The way his cock ground against my soaked pussy made me feel as if he could make me orgasm on command. One word and I’d break for him.
He pulled his mouth away from mine. That left me panting and begging him for more, using only my eyes to do so. My nails bit into his biceps as I held them, wondering if it was humanly possible to have muscles that big.
His hands slid around my body and moved down my arms, and he took both of my hands. Pulling them up, he kissed my knuckles as he looked into my eyes.
I couldn’t catch my breath. I couldn’t think about anything other than being alone with this man.
His eyes had changed. They’d gone a shade lighter and opened up a bit more. His lips parted, and I thought he’d say something. Only he didn’t say a word as he leaned in close, grazing those thick lips along my neck before taking my earlobe between his teeth and biting it just hard enough to make me crazy for him.
Our hands held between us, I wanted that distance gone. I thought the best way to do that was to move them down. I took one of his hands and pressed it against the part of me that needed him inside of it.
His deep voice echoed in my ear as he said the first words he’d ever speak to me, “Come with me.”

Taking her by the hand after she’d nodded and agreed to leave the party with me, I led her all the way out of the house to my place on the north side of the mansion. “Don’t you want to know my name?” she asked after I’d shut my front door and pinned her to it.
