by Linda K. Rodante

A heartfelt “thank you” goes to so many!

  To:

The Word Weavers critique group of Tampa, special thank you to Sheryl Young, Janis Powell, and Sharron Cosby. I could not have done this without every one of you!

Becky Zuch, friend and beta reader, and patient listener and constant encourager.

Sue Wayne, my boss at Trinity College who always let me off for whatever writer’s conference was upcoming, and for her encouragement.

Kathy Blackwell, friend, critiquer, and beta reader.

Members of Highest Praise Family Church in Tarpon Springs for reading my first manuscripts and encouraging me.

The whole Christian Indie Author Facebook group. Too many to list, but you know who you are.

Teri Burns, editor at Lone Mesa Publishing, for doing the impossible and bringing all my ideas and the needs of this manuscript together.

  To:

Varina Denman, friend, encourager and author of Jaded.

Kathi Macias, multi-published author, encourager and fellow laborer against human trafficking.

Debby Tisdale Mayne, multi-published author, friend, and encourager.

Jessica Kirkland, agent with Blythe Daniel Agency, for her patience and encouragement.

  To:

ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) and all the good people, information and conferences, for those that judged my contest entries and for their critiques.

Cec Murphy’s scholarship to Florida Christian Writer’s Conference, and to his assistant, Twila Belk who encouraged me to submit to Cec’s anthology, I Believe in Healing.

  To:

Donnie Whittemore, former Tampa Sheriff’s Deputy and former Lt. Col in the Army Reserves, for his answers to numerous questions over the years.*

Cpl. Alan Wilkett with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department for his work against Human Trafficking and his answers to questions (many he never knew had to do with my writing ).*

Mark Mynheir, retired police officer, Palm Bay Police Department, former SWAT team member, and multi-published author, for his encouragement and help with police procedures. *

  To:

The Amputee OT Blog and videos and many others that I studied, researched, and sent queries to about BKA, its effects, pain, limitations and also new freedom with the new prostheses available today.

  To:

My husband, Frank, for financial support and encouragement in what proved a longer endeavor than either of us foresaw.

Both my sons, Justin and Matthew Rodante for their encouragement and patience, and to my daughter-in-law, Melissa, for her expertise on victims of abuse and the court system.*

My niece, Mindy Jaques, for her help with how paramedics handle situations.*

  To:

Elaine Knadle (deceased), my mother, for her undying and enthusiastic love of Jesus and demonstration of His miracles while in missionary work and service to Him.

Wes Knadle (deceased), my dad, for giving me my first typewriter (when such things were the main means of writing) when I was 12, and by so doing, encouraging me to keep on keeping on.

And to the Lord Jesus Christ for sustaining me, training me, loving me through my life and giving me the ability to write. May the words of my mouth (and computer) and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, my Lord and my God.

  * Any fault with police, court, paramedic procedures, etc., are strictly mine and not those of others (between not fully understanding the direction I was given or taking “poetic” license and stretching what was real to fit the story).
