A Wild Goose Chase Christmas: Quilts of Love Series Page 19

by Jennifer AlLee

  A new quilt.

  A new family.

  A new love.

The greatest treasure of all. Just as Gran had hoped.

  Discussion Questions

  1. The quilt Izzy’s grandmother left her is a Wild Goose Chase pattern. Are there any quilts or heirlooms that have been passed down in your family?

  2. Janice Fontaine, Izzy’s mom, struggles with disappointment over lost dreams—both Izzy’s and her own. How does that affect the way she interacts with her children?

  3. Izzy tells Max that she doesn’t believe God gave her rheumatoid arthritis but that he used it. What do you think about that? Have you experienced a negative situation that God used to bring about something good?

  4. Grandma Isabella promised the quilt to Max but gave it to Izzy. If you were Gran, who would you have given the quilt to?

  5. According to Gran, objects are only valuable because of the memories or emotions they evoke. Would you agree?

  6. Brandon was convinced that the treasure Gran mentioned was a monetary one. Why do you think financial success was so important to him?

  7. Many people have strong feelings connected with Christmas. For Izzy, they were good. For Max, they were painful. What feelings does the Christmas season bring up for you?

  8. In the end, Max has to make a choice between personal happiness and career advancement. Did he make the right choice in turning down the job offer?

  9. Even though Gran wanted her family to realize that true happiness doesn’t come from material things, she left them material items in the safe-deposit box. Why do you think she did that?

  10. First Corinthians 13:13 says, “Now faith, hope, and love remain—these three things—and the greatest of these is love.” Share a time in your life that represents true love.
