Fated for Mikayla

“I know. I know. Please just go. Get in the car, Jack.”
“I never thought I’d have trouble leaving a woman behind. But I want you to know this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, Mikayla. I’m leaving now because it’s my duty, but I don’t want to go. There’s no part of me that wants to go. And I promise you something. When it’s over, I’ll spend the rest of my life making sure you know how special you are to me.”
He crushed his lips against hers and obliterated just about every reasonable thought in her head. Hunter got out of the car, and when Jack released her, he kissed her until she was breathless. Then, they were both back in the car and driving away before she could really even think straight again. Mikayla held on until they were out of sight before she completely lost it.
Chapter 12
“You okay?” Nikki asked, her voice a whisper as the officiant recounted the clan’s history. “Heard from them today?”
“Not yet,” Mikayla whispered back. Jack and Hunter had called her on each of the first two days they were back with the underground, but she hadn’t heard from them that morning as she’d expected to. Her mind kept wandering to all of the possible things that could have gone wrong for them, from an attack of the Crimson Moon Pack to coming up against the vampires who’d killed their families and losing. She felt badly that she couldn’t concentrate fully on Adam, Hope, and Levi joining, but in all fairness, she’d heard the story of the clan’s beginning a thousand times.
Hope did look beautiful, though, radiant even, and Adam and Levi looked as if they’d hit a thousand human lotteries. Mikayla wondered if she’d ever get her own joining ceremony, then mentally shook herself for being both morose and narcissistic. She told herself for the hundredth time that she would only be separated from her mates temporarily. She even almost believed it.
Nikki reached for her hand. “Try not to worry. I’m sure they’re fine.”
Luke shushed their whispers, and Mikayla glared at him before responding. “Thanks. You’re probably right.” But she just wasn’t sure of that. Not at all or really even a little.
Thankfully, by the time the officiant got to the exchanging of vows, Mikayla had managed to stop worrying about the possible disembowelment of her men long enough to smile at the beautiful ceremony and the love evident in Hope’s eyes as she promised to remain Adam’s and Levi’s mate through whatever life, and eventually even death, brought.

Mikayla had just made her way through the reception line, hugging Hope tightly, filled with joy for her, when she caught a whiff of a scent that smelled a lot like one of her mates. She took a seat at the indoor bar set up in the lodge’s basement and downed a quick shot, pissed that her mind was playing evil tricks on her. But when she turned around, she almost fell off her barstool. She hadn’t consumed enough booze to be losing her mind, but there were Jack and Hunter, in the flesh.
“Surprise, baby,” Hunter said, flashing her that grin that always made her want to jump him.
Jack wore a similar grin, and she looked back and forth between them while she figured out how to work her mouth again. “What…what are you doing here?”
It was Jack who answered. “We had to come back. We were there, what? About half a day before we realized it wasn’t going to work?”
Hunter shrugged. “I figured it out before we even got there.”
Jack rolled his eyes. “Right. Anyway, we realized we couldn’t do it, that there had to be a way to do what we felt we had to do and be here with you.”
“So,” Hunter said, “we wrapped things up with the underground and came back here as fast as we could. Sorry we didn’t call this morning. We wanted to surprise you.”
“Surprised?” Jack raised an eyebrow in question.
“Am I ever.” She wouldn’t have been more surprised if one of her fellow wolves sprouted feathers and flew across the room. “But what about everything you said before? About your duty?” She wanted them with her, but she didn’t want to hold them back.
“We talked to Gavin and Noah,” Jack said. “We aren’t sure what Ulric’s next move will be, but we all agree the underground still has its place. Whether it’s helping those fleeing Ulric or providing shelter from a war with the vampires, we don’t know. But whatever it is, we want to be here for you and help the underground.”
“Can you do that?” Whatever the plan, she was all for it.
Hunter reached for a tendril of her hair and curled it around her finger. “We’re still working that out. Maybe building a safe house closer to River’s Bend.”
“And recruiting,” Jack said. “The underground always needs new recruits.”
Mikayla liked it, but there was one more thing on her mind. It was something she couldn’t just forget, because she knew they definitely couldn’t. “What about finding the vampires who killed your families? Can you really give that up?”
“No. We’d be lying if we said we could.”
Hunter nodded. “We don’t have it all figured out. Some things we’ll have to figure out as we go, but what we do know is we want to be here with you. Nothing else feels right.”
She gave herself a mental swift kick in the ass but couldn’t manage to stop the words from tumbling from her mouth. “I’m your mate, so I’m pretty much a sure thing. You don’t have to give it all up, everything that really matters to you, just for me. I’ll wait for you.” She bit her lip, wondering what they would say next, almost wishing it was in her to be needier so they would stay.
Hunter took her by the shoulders, pinning her with his gaze. “Nothing matters as much as being with you. I love you, Mikayla Lowell.”
“And so do I,” Jack said. “We can figure everything else out, as long as we’re together.”
“Will you have us?” Hunter asked.
Mikayla didn’t know if she’d ever stop smiling. “As if you had to ask.” She kissed Hunter thoroughly, then gave Jack the same treatment before pulling them both out onto the dance floor. Tonight, she would celebrate both the joining of three of her good friends and the beginning, the true beginning, of her life with her mates. Ulric be damned. Vampires be damned. She intended to enjoy it.

“Higher.” Jack said. “Push that sexy ass high in the air for me. You’ve had this one coming for a while now.”
Mikayla laughed. “Your bark is far worse than your bite.”
“Is that so?” Jack bent down and bit her on her right ass cheek.
“Ow!” she squealed. “Okay, maybe not.”
He bit her left cheek, then traced the abused area with his tongue.
Mikayla sighed. “Remind me to break my promises more often.”
“Oh, you like that, do you? How about this.” He sat on the bed and hauled her onto his lap.
She’d never been spanked before but the idea was titillating. She giggled at the first slap and frowned at the second. He was obviously afraid of hurting her. She laughed, craning her neck to look back at him. “If that’s how you’re expecting to deter misbehavior, you’re in for rocky ride.”
That earned her three sharper slaps across her butt cheeks. They stung for sure, but in a good way. And she especially liked the way he smoothed his hand over the spot afterward.
“What about now?” he asked. “Feel like behaving?”
She thought about that for a minute. “Not so much.”
Crack, crack, crack. His hand hit her ass with audible slap after slap. It stung, but damn did she like it.
“You. Will. Obey. Your. Mates.” Jack kept his voice low and even, punctuating each word with another slap of her ass.
Hunter lay back against the headboard, watching, grinning at her lazily. “I don’t know. Pretty sure we have the wrong girl for that.”
Another slap, and another. “And if not him,” Jack said. “You’ll obey me.”
Mikayla smiled back at Hunter, then turned around to look back over her shoulder at Jack. “Nope. I’m not convinced.”
r /> That earned her a flurry of spanks that left her breathing hard. But this time he didn’t rub her ass after. Instead, he pushed two fingers into her pussy.
Jack’s growl sounded a lot like a swear as he worked his digits in and out of her pussy. She moaned, tightening her pussy around them, needing Jack deeper, needing more.
“Damn, Hunter. She’s soaking wet.”
“I knew she would be.” Hunter took his cock in hand, stroking it as he watched her face. “She likes it too much for it to be punishment.”
He was right. She did. In fact, she wiggled her ass asking for more. Jack removed his fingers and gave her another quick round before tossing her on the bed and thrusting roughly inside her. She gasped and reached between her legs to tease her clit as he began to move in and out of her hard, so hard.
It felt beyond amazing, but when he cracked his hand down on her ass again, she fell forward in surprise, abandoning her clit to brace herself. Gasping each time he pulled back and gave her another slap, she made the decision to find lots of ways to disobey them, just so she could get punished again.
Hunter made his way over and picked up where she’d left off stroking her clit. Jack delivered another couple of slaps, then reached to clutch one of her breasts, keeping the other hand firmly fastened on her hip. Then Jack worked her. That was the only way she could describe it. He worked her until she came, moaning and shuddering around his cock.
“My turn,” Hunter said.
Her men switched places, and before she was finished riding the waves of her first climax, she had Hunter’s cock inside her, pushing her toward another.
Jack took his place in front of her, stroking his cock over her lips. “Open your mouth for me, Mikayla. Taste how sweet your cream is on my dick.”
In this, she would be obedient. She opened her mouth, and he eased his cock in. His musk, the taste of her climax, and the smell of sex overwhelmed her, and her pussy clenched hard against Hunter’s cock. Giving a loud groan, he rimmed her asshole with her finger, provoking a similar though decidedly more feminine sound from Mikayla.
“Damn that feels good, baby.” Jack twined his hands in her hair, holding on tightly. “Moan like that again.”
Mikayla guessed the vibration felt good against his cock and gave it all she was worth. Not that she needed to try too hard, especially when Hunter slid a wet finger inside her ass.
Whether they gave it to her hard or gently, they always set her body and her heart aflame. But she had to admit she loved it when they gave it to her rough. Jack gripped her hair in his huge hands, holding her head steady as he began fucking in and out of her mouth with wild abandon. She came hard, her claws coming out to shred the sheets as she held on for dear life, unable to yell her pleasure because of the straining dick humping her mouth.
Hunter followed her soon after, his movements becoming faster, harder and more erratic until he yelled “Fuuuck!” and filled her pussy with his cum. He continued to pump slowly in and out of her as Mikayla reached up to cup Jack’s balls. He lost it, his hands a death grip in her hair, as he growled fiercely, spurting streams of hot cum down her throat. She tried, in vain, to swallow it all, wishing every night could be like this and hoping that, at the very least, they would always have such passion for each other. The way ahead might be rough, and it wasn’t hard to envision major changes for the Liekos Clan. But somehow, she felt confident. As long as they had each other, everything would turn out just fine.
Always, she thought. Always.
Love, she heard in her head, her men’s voices not quite overlapping. Always love you, Mikayla.
Epilogue
“Can you make the shot?” Nikki asked.
“Yes, I think so.” Mikayla had the wolf in her sights. She pulled back on the bow, breathing deeply, trying to calm her pounding heart. Their intention was to take Ulric down since, so far, frontal wolf-to-wolf attacks had failed, and the Clan Liekos men had moved on to seeing the vampire clans as public enemy number one. Few could argue with that. For Mikayla and her friends, however, Ulric remained the root of all their problems. He’d started the war with the vampires, and he’d thwarted every single attempt at peace. “Are you sure the drug will work?”
“Of course.” Nikki sounded calm and full of confidence.
“It had better,” Robyn said, putting words to Mikayla’s apprehensions. An arrow alone wouldn’t kill Ulric. It would only wound him. In a battle, it could weaken him enough to give his opponent a temporary advantage. But this wasn’t a battle. Nikki had laced Mikayla’s arrows with a paralytic drug. After her arrow hit him, they would descend from their hidden location and bind him.
They’d thought of everything, or Mikayla hoped they had. They’d brought several women from their secret training group out. They would provide cover while she, Nikki and Robyn raced down to bind the evil alpha. If anyone showed up to help him, the plan was to wound them long enough to allow the group to escape. Mikayla didn’t think anyone would show up. They’d been watching Ulric through binoculars whenever they could get away, so they knew he liked to relieve himself here, far from his camp. She figured Ulric liked to play God and didn’t want any of his men to see him doing his business and remember that he was just a wolf like them.
She went over the plan in her head. Tie him up. Haul ass back to River’s Bend as quickly as possible carrying the huge alpha. Leave him bound not far beyond the border. Create a diversion that would serve two purposes—make it easier for them to sneak back into the territory and ensure that clan wolves would find Ulric’s body while he remained paralyzed. The men could then question him, imprison him, and kill him for all they cared. The point was, he would no longer have the freedom to cause trouble for everyone else.
“Now!” Nikki’s urgent whisper snapped Mikayla’s out of her thoughts.
An eerie calm washed over her at the command, her misgivings suddenly edged out by pure purpose. She let the arrow fly, holding her breath while she waited to see if it hit his mark, then whooping with joy inside as she realized it had. All of that practice had paid off.
The scent of fear, joy, and exhilaration was palpable in the air. “Let’s go,” she said to Nikki and Robyn. They couldn’t afford any celebration time. She was reaching for a smaller weapon to carry down the hill with her when her nose picked up a familiar scent.
“Oh…shit,” she said, looking up to see the flared nostrils on the other women. Running wouldn’t help. No matter what, they couldn’t leave this job undone.
Nikki shook her head, exhaling loudly. “Who is going down with Robyn and me? Mikayla’s out.”
Selena nodded and stepped forward, just as Jack and Hunter found them. The rest of the group ignored the men, intent on their duty to cover their friends. Mikayla knew they all had to be worried over the fact that they’d gotten caught, but there’d be time to deal with that later.
Jack and Hunter wasted no time in approaching her, crowding her, standing so damned close she had to crane her neck to look up at them.
The silence was heavy as Mikayla tried to decide just what to say by way of greeting. Jack relieved her of the concern, speaking first. “When you said you would spend the night before our joining with the ladies, this wasn’t what I had in mind.”
“I know, but…but I…” She needed to look down at her feet, off to the side, anyplace but into his eyes, or into Hunter’s. She hadn’t exactly lied. She was with the ladies, but still…
“But what, Mikayla?”
“But…” Really there was nothing she could say to make this look any better. “I’m sorry.”
Jack took the hair at the back of her head in his fist. Rubbing the back of his other hand over her lips, he gave her that look, the one that sent shivers up and down her spine. “No you’re not. But you will be.”
She couldn’t resist. Was he saying what she thought he was saying? “Oh, so I’m going to get another spanking?” If so, she was beyond ready.
“No. I have something much better in
mind.”
The way he said that, with that devious look in his eyes…Was it wrong that her pussy got wet just minutes after she’d shot another wolf?
He abruptly released her and the next thing she knew, Hunter had sneak-attack grabbed her and tossed her over his shoulder. “I’ll get her started,” Hunter said, his deep voice and the implication of his words stiffening her nipples and making matters that much worse between her legs.
He slapped her ass as he turned back toward River’s Bend, and she didn’t even bother to struggle. He’d win and she was pretty sure she wanted whatever “get her started” meant anyway. She felt badly for leaving her girls with the rest of the dirty work, but she’d done her part in bringing that monster down.
As Hunter walked away from the others, she realized Jack wasn’t following. In fact, he was walking in the opposite direction.
“Where are you going?” she called from her awkward upside-down vantage point.
None of her friends tried to help her or really even looked surprised. In fact, most didn’t pay attention at all. This sort of caveman behavior was par for the course in River’s Bend.
“Don’t worry.” Jack turned back to look at her as Hunter carried her away. The wicked smile that crept over his face held promise. “I’ll get to you as soon as I can. But first, I have to finish what you started.
