Astrosaurs 16

Gipsy smiled. “He says that since the Sauropod never quite reached Iguanos, Rennia can give the builders the good news in person when we get back on board!”
“I certainly will,” Rennia declared.
“Fantastic,” said Teggs. “I’m sure the rich people who come to live in Mekta will get by without as many robots.”
Arx nodded. “It will be good for them to do more things for themselves.”
“Ig, you used to build robots yourself before you became an astrosaur,” said Wimvis. “Why not help out here on Mekta and stay with me and Dad?”
Iggy swallowed hard. “Leave the DSS you mean?” He looked at Teggs, Arx and Gipsy and then back at his brother.
Teggs put a hand on Iggy’s shoulder. “We’ll understand if you’d rather stay,” he said softly.
But Iggy shook his head. “Sorry, Wim. I miss you and Dad loads . . . and if you ever really needed me, I’d come back like a shot. But until then, there are dinosaurs in trouble all over the Jurassic Quadrant who need astrosaurs like me to help them.”
Wimvis nodded. “I can understand that now. I’m sorry I’ve been hard on you in the past.” He hugged his little brother. “Just take care, OK?”
Iggy smiled at Teggs, Gipsy, Arx and Sprite. “With these guys watching out for me, that’ll be easy!”
Arx slapped Iggy on the back. “We all watch out for each other.”
“Always have and always will,” Gipsy agreed, kissing Iggy on the nose.
“And, of course, we’re always watching out for action and excitement too,” Teggs declared, grinning round at his happy crew. “I’m no builder – but I’m certainly building up my hopes that another adventure will come calling very, very soon!”
THE END
About the Author
Born in 1971, Steve Cole spent a happy childhood in rural Bedfordshire being loud and aspiring to amuse. He liked books, and so went to the University of East Anglia to read more of them. Later on he started writing them too, with titles ranging from pre-school poetry to Young Adult thrillers (with more TV and film tie-ins than he cares to admit to along the way). In other careers he has been the editor of Noddy magazine, and an editor of fiction and nonfiction book titles for various publishers. He is the author of the hugely successful Astrosaurs, Cows in Action, Astrosaurs Academy and Slime Squad series.
