I giggled when I realized what he probably thought I’d meant. “The Florida trip. I want to do it.”
He gaped at me in awe. “Are you serious?”
“Yes,” I said, nodding. “I’m serious. I want to take a plane ride with you to Florida. And then I want to do all the other things I’ve always been too afraid to do, and I want to do them with you.”
Logan’s sparkling hazel eyes danced around my face, searching for any indication I might be lying.
“Those are some heavy claims, Dawson. Do you really think you’re up for the challenge?”
I pretended to think about it for a moment. “I’m pretty sure I can handle it.”
“Well, I’m on board, then,” he said with a smirk. “And maybe—just maybe—I’ll let you continue to drag me around to boring places to do boring things. After all, that was part of the original deal, wasn’t it?”
“It was,” I said with an enthusiastic nod. I immediately started thinking of what types of activities I could torture him with for the next month and a half.
The wheel started moving again, and we slowly began our descent toward the ground. Taking his hand in mine, I nuzzled up against him, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath—not out of fear this time, but out of pure contentment.
“This is going to be a great summer,” Logan whispered into my hair before planting a kiss on the top of my head. “And I can’t wait to spend every second of it together.”
I couldn’t help but smile at that. Apparently, we had more in common than we thought.
About the Author
Amanda Abram is an amateur author with big dreams of making it in the world of writing. She has dreamed of being an author since she was a little girl writing weird short stories that she would read aloud at Author’s Teas (most likely to the embarrassment of her parents) and penning Full House fan fictions in her composition notebooks. In her early twenties, she graduated to writing novel-length Harry Potter fan fictions before taking the plunge and embarking on the journey of original fiction.
Challenge Accepted is her second published novel.
