Her insides were on fire which was a welcome contrast to the cold air that danced on her sensitive skin. She felt her body wake in anticipation of feeling Jax's hands all over her. She wanted Jax that night. Not Heren or the mix of the two of them, she needed Jax and all his wickedness. He was not gentle with her. She loved him for that.

“We should hurry,” she said as she tried to slow her breathing.

“Are you alright, Kelsha?” It was Heren's caring side that asked the question, and at that very moment grated her nerves. She stopped herself before she replied snidely. “I'm fine, just rough terrain is all.” She lied. She was fit, and the terrain did nothing to hamper her breathing. It was her thoughts of Jax ravaging her that made her breath quicken.

“Jax, are you in there? Can you come out to play?” She asked sweetly and saw the look on Heren's face turn to disappointment. She had asked Jax to remain in form, back in Antiope and though he tried, there were times that Heren overpowered him. This was one of those times. She stopped and turned to him. She ran her hand softly on his cheek and smiled. She knew she had wounded him when she requested only Jax’s presence and truly felt bad for his pain. She really did love Heren and had to admit to herself that she was pleased when he would appear every now and then. However, now was not one of those times, she needed Jax. “Oh now, Heren, don't be like that. You know I love you. You are so loyal to me, so loyal and so handsome. That makes you perfect. Sometimes I need Jax with his imperfections.”

“I understand, Kelsha,” Heren began quietly. “It’s just he always overpowers me. I know you prefer him. What I don’t understand is how you could have forgotten what we shared before I was forced to share this body with Jax Bane. I loved you first, Kelsha. I was never blinded by another woman like Jax. I was always loyal to you, I still am. Why have you chosen him?” She could hear the sadness in his voice. This was why, she thought, he was always so damn sappy. He loved her though, and he was right, he loved her before Jax realized the error of his ways. She would make an effort to spend more time with Heren, just not yet.

“I will have a surprise for you later, baby, okay?” She spoke softly and meant what she said. She would let Jax take her roughly and then Heren could make soft love to her. She smiled at the thought and wondered if a woman could be luckier than she was. Before she could think further she saw the face change, and Jax emerge. His sinister smile caused her insides to twist in pleasure. She knew it was just Jax. She could see in his eyes that he knew why she requested for him to surface. She allowed herself to listen to his thoughts for just a moment and blushed when the words 'I want you too, doll' floated lazily through his mind.

“Good work back there. We make a great team.” He took her hand this time and began to lead her.

“Yes, we make a wonderful team. Unbeatable I think.” Her breath was ragged again and she concentrated on slowing it down.

“Committing evil acts such as we just did. Creating chaos for innocents, destroying hope arouses you doesn't it?” He knew her so well. She didn't have to answer. He already knew.

“Well, you're in luck, Kelsha because I have a damned hard on for you right now. It's all I can do not to rip that dress off you and ravish your body.” He always knew what she needed and when she needed it, she thought.

“We have a long way to travel still,” she whispered.

“More time to think about the ways I am going to make you come alive,” he said to her while pulling her hand harder.

“You always know what to say,” she said while nearly breaking into a jog to keep up with him.

“Damn, Kelsha, I can see your nipples through that coat. Your face is flushed and you sound as though you have just run a marathon. I bet if I stuck my hand between your legs it wouldn't come out dry. You're not hard to read, love.” She didn't know if she should be flattered or slighted at his observation. She liked that he knew her so well, but wanted him to want her as badly as she wanted him. She didn't like feeling like an obligation.

“You know, Jax, you don't have to think of any way to make my body come to life. I can do that on my own.” Her words came out bitchy, as intended. She pulled her hand out of his and stopped following him. He turned to her, humor pulling the corners of his mouth up.

“Oh, Kelsha, are you angry, love?” He was being patronizing and was seriously pissing her off.

“You really know how to turn a girl off, Jax!” She spat at him and turned her back on him. She was pouting. That pissed her off more. A woman of her caliber and evil genius had no business pouting over a man. What the hell was she doing?

“Just go on, Jax. I can find my way back.”

“Come on now, Kelsha. You know I am not leaving you out here alone. I'm sorry that my stating the obvious upset you.”

“Is that your way of apologizing?” She eyed him with annoyance. He saw the anger flash in her eyes and that excited him even more. Angry Kelsha had always been a turn on for Jax.

“That depends. Are you going to let me touch you?” He moved towards her slowly, with intent.

“Well, I was under the impression you were filling an obligation. You know, satisfy my craving. I know you'd hate for my hard nipples to be left unattended. Your mistake though was that you are under no obligation. I wanted you, Jax, but I in no way need you. Is that clear?” She spoke softly and held her footing when he stood so close to her, she thought he may push her over. She felt his erection against her legs and smiled internally.

“My apologies, I have no doubt you can take care of yourself, Kelsha, in every way imaginable. I, in no way, meant to offend you or your hard nipples.” His mouth was nearly touching hers as he spoke. She could smell his sweet breath and feel the warmth on her lips. She ran her tongue along her lips just enough to barely brush his lips. They stood facing each other. Close enough to taste, yet they didn't touch.

“I like it when you're angry. You provoke just enough fear to get my blood racing through my veins. You are not an obligation to me, my love, more of a necessity. I crave your taste as much as you crave mine.”

“What makes you think I crave you at all, Jax?”

“You asked for me? You sent Heren away, wounding his ego, but you didn't care. You hungered for me just as I hunger for you.”

“You think you know everything don't you, always so confident, so self-assured? Maybe I changed my mind, Jax. Maybe I don't crave you at all.” She bit at his lip softly before turning away from him. She began to walk away, but he was fast and grabbed her by the waist, pulling her to him. He wrapped his arm around her and cupped her breast under his hand. He felt her heart beat wildly under his hand. He lowered his head to her neck and began to gently kiss her sweet skin. He bit and sucked until her olive skin turned a lovely shade of purple. He repeated the process on the other side while she stood unmoving.

He lifted his head. “Do you want me now?” She laughed quietly. “No.” She was driving him insane. He moved his hand from her breast and in one swift motion shoved it up her dress and found her sweet spot. “Just as I said, wet and ready for me. Don't fight me, Kelsha. Turn around.” She did as he requested while attempting to look indifferent. “Stop being a bitch, Kelsha. You can't deny what your body is begging for.”

She slowly pulled the front of her dress up revealing her naked womanhood. She forcefully pushed his hand away and began to please herself while never breaking eye contact with him. He watched her with amusement and allowed her to have her way for a moment, until he couldn't stand it any longer. He grabbed her face and crushed her lips under his and drank in her sweet taste. He let his tongue dance angrily in her mouth while she continued to please herself.

“Are you trying to drive me mad? Damn, Kelsha, I want you, right here, right now.” Before she could protest his pants were around his ankles, and he was lifting her off the ground. He moved until her back was against a tree, and her legs wrapped around his waist. He bit and sucked her skin and her breast until she began to moan. The louder she moaned the more agg
ressive he became. She winded her hands through his hair and held his head to her, forcing him to feast on her body. She felt his manhood gouge into her leg and ached to feel him inside of her. The bark scraping against her back was a welcome sensation and pushed her to hold him tighter.

“Have I driven you mad yet?” She asked between groans of pleasure.

“Absolutely,” he breathed and without warning dove inside of her. He took her roughly. He held the tree for support as he worked her over. She held him tightly, biting him until she could taste his blood on her lips. Just as she was peaking, he dipped his head and bit her nipple. She screamed with joy and pain as she reached her peak, and he emptied inside of her.

They stood, unmoving, catching their breath. Kelsha gently kissed and licked the bite wounds. She slid off of him, and he gently ran his fingers over her purple flesh. They had abused and loved each other and then tended to their love wounds.

“I am in awe of how perfect we are for each other,” Jax said after they dressed again. He smiled that clever smile at her and she smiled back. “Yeah, well too bad you didn't know that back when we could have done this the easy way.” Her words stung a little, but she was right. Had he loved her the way she asked him to things would be so different now. He made mistakes, as did she.

“I thought we were past that?”

“We are, Jax. I was just stating a fact. I'm sorry.” He let it go. They just had dirty sex in the forest after detonating a bomb in Gwendolyn, he was pretty satisfied, and he knew she was too. They gathered their belongings that had been discarded during their impromptu romp and began making their way back to camp.

They made it just before dark. Kelsha collapsed on the pile of wool blankets. She was tired and dirty and hungry. Jax immediately built a fire and went to find them a suitable meal. He came back with some wild fruit and a small forest animal. Kelsha didn't know what he killed, and she didn't care as long as she was fed.

They sat together, eating, and discussing their next move.

“Well, we have put a kink in their plans to recruit the elves. Those little Creatures were so afraid. There is no way they will leave their village to fight. They know we are watching them, closely. I think we need to go back to Ellurrah. Give everyone a status update. Build our soldier's moral. I don't think it will be much longer, Kelsha.” She looked up at him, her Hybrid man, and smiled. He was right. She needed to see her people. They needed to see her.

“Yes, we need to go home but only for a short time. I told Fionna I would be back for James.” Part of her heart broke knowing she was going back to the island without the boy, but she could be a patient woman when she needed to be. Deep down, she knew she didn't only want the baby. She wanted to hurt the Levannah's. She wanted to kill Lilly, but she wanted to torture the princess first. Scare her. Play with her mind. Confuse her. Given the events of the previous days, Kelsha was convinced Lilly Levannah Wagner was frightened and confused and anxious to fight Kelsha. Her anxiousness would be the death of her. Kelsha looked to Jax for confirmation. Jax had retreated slightly, allowing Heren to come out. The man before her was now the strange combination of her two men and that image gave her comfort. He stroked her hand lovingly, encouraging, and she knew that was Heren.

  ~Chapter Sixteen~

Strangely enough, I slept peacefully with Shep, after the explosion. I felt safe in his arms. My dreams were sweet, no trace of the horror that plagued me in recent nights. I fought the urge to wake from my restful sleep. The light that shone through the little windows was blinding, forcing my eyes to wake. I rubbed my eyes, willing them to focus. I crawled through the fog of my sleep, adjusted my eyes, and gasped audibly when I saw the four sets of eyes staring down at me.

“Good morning, Lilly. I am glad to see you are safe.” Avelon's face showed a hint of humor as she took in the situation. Leah and Denali stood above us. Their mouths turned up, their faces red with embarrassment. After a moment, they both turned away, unable to hide their amusement. I didn't understand what the big deal was, until I remembered what took place the night before. Until I remembered that beneath the thin blanket, I was naked. Feeling suddenly self-conscious, I pulled the blanket up to my chin and carefully turned to wake Shep.

I was amazed that he had yet to wake on his own, but then again, Shep could sleep through a bomb storm. I shook his shoulder firmly. “Shep, wake up. Come on get up.” He stirred as though he was returning from a faraway place. I wondered briefly if he had slept as peacefully as I had. Was he fighting to stay in that happy place? He let out a yawn and a loud sigh before he opened one eye. His hand instinctively moved to shield his eyes from the blinding sunlight. “Good morning, sunshine,” he whispered before leaning in for a kiss. “We are not alone,” I said before his lips reached mine. He stopped abruptly.

He shot upright poised to attack. Our audience broke into fits of giggles. The blanket barely covered Shep's body and his dark hair was messy from our lovemaking the night before. I laughed softly to myself. He really did look ridiculous standing there, half naked, disheveled, and thoroughly pissed off. His mom, who had turned back briefly and just in time to see Shep shoot out of bed, was also laughing at him.

“What the hell is going on here?” He demanded. “Glad I am so amusing to you. Where the hell have you all been? Why did you leave us here?” His words were coming fast, and I could hear the anger edging into his voice. I stood, holding the blanket in front of me, and gently rubbed Shep's arm. “I'm sorry, baby. You just looked so out of sorts, scared and fierce and naked.” I choked on the last word and started to laugh again. The entire scene was absurd. We all had a million things on our minds, but the temporary break from reality was welcome, and it felt good to laugh.

For the first time since opening his eyes the fact that he was standing there, almost fully exposed, in front of his mother dawned on him. He pulled the blanket closer to his body, which pulled me closer to him, causing our bodies to touch. His skin was warm and felt good against my own. I dared to look up at him and found him glaring down at me, his cheeks flushed, his annoyance evident. I also saw the hint of a smile on his lips and deep in his angry eyes, I saw amusement. I smiled at him trying to ease the humiliation for both of us. Thankfully, Leah and Denali only turned back a few times. I think out of curiosity.

“Could you excuse us please?” I tried to speak politely but seriously. “My husband and I need to make ourselves decent.” Thunderous laughter erupted before our four intruders turned to leave the room. I turned to Shep, who was clearly livid. “I don't get it, Lilly. What is so funny?” His face was stern as he spoke in bewilderment.

“I think it's more of a nervous laughter. Things have been so tense lately especially with last night’s explosion. I bet they didn't plan to find us alive, let alone naked and clearly sexed up. I don't think they are laughing because we are comical but more because they are thankful we are alive and well. But you do look rather hilarious right now, Shep, all serious and angry but messy and naked. You should see your face.” I laughed again, and it was a sweet release.

He sighed deeply and eyed me. He was always so intense. That was one of the things I loved so much about him. He could be fun and loving, but he was always intense, always sexy. One of his eyebrows arched up, and his mouth softened into a half smile. He looked at me with confusion. “What?” I asked.

“Did you just say 'sexed up'?” He was holding back his own laugh now. “Yeah, why?” I asked with fake annoyance. He let go of the blanket and turned to me, smiling. He pulled me close to him forcing my grip on my part of the blanket to loosen and the blanket fell to my feet.

“Come on, Lilly, let's get sexed up,” he said between soft giggles.

“They are waiting for us.” I tried to speak firmly, but I couldn't hide my desire for him. As I continued counting reasons why we should be getting dressed, I pressed my body against his and wrapped my arms around his neck. “We don't have time for this. We need to get dressed. We have a lot to discuss.” I spoke ever
y sentence between soft kisses on his neck. I felt him grow hard, and his breath quicken. I brushed his lips with mine before looking up at him. I saw a reflection of my own yearning in his eyes. His hands gripped my behind firmly and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and held on tightly. He pushed me against a wall and greedily took what was his.

He kissed my collarbone gently before lowering me to the ground. “I love you, Lilly. I could stay here with you forever, sexing you up.” He laughed, resting his forehead on mine. I giggled back. I would have never thought those words could be so erotic to him, and to me. “I love you too, Shep, and as much as I enjoy getting sexed up, we have to get dressed and find out where everyone went last night.” He let out a disappointed sigh before kissing me on the nose and turning to find his clothes. I let out my own breath. I hadn't realized I was holding it. Shep had a way of taking my breath away, so intense, so sexy. I ached to pull him back to me, but resisted. I picked up my clothes and dressed myself without taking my eyes off him.

“You know, Shep, I can't wait for all this fighting to be over. I can't wait to have peace of mind that everyone I love is safe and happy. I can't wait to wake up next to you every day and not have to worry about our safety. I can't wait to bring our little family together. I want you so badly every moment of every day. I just wanted you to know that. I'll never stop wanting you.” I finished as I pushed the last button through its hole. He grabbed my hand and bringing it to his mouth gently brushed his lips against my palm. “I know, Lilly. I want you forever. I need you forever. We will win and we will be happy with our son. I love you, Strawberry.”

“I love you too, Chocolate. Let's go.”

We found Denali and Leah in the same meeting room that we had met Serephina's brothers and sisters in the day before. Everyone was there, waiting for us. I thought I should have felt embarrassed, but I didn’t. I loved Shep and was proud to be his. I didn't care what they saw or thought of us. His mom gave me a sly smile. I returned one of my own before sitting between Shep and Josidian. The silence that filled the room was quickly banished when Shep began the conversation with a question that I had been wondering since the explosion.
