Full of Fire: A Contemporary Romance (Irresistible Book 2) Page 11

by Claire Angel

When we finished dinner, Marisol told everyone to relax. She was going to do the dishes later and spend time with us.

We planned on heading to the coast for a long weekend during the upcoming holiday. I was renting a house, and we were all going. Ella had the day off from school, and since she was back in class with her friends, that was important. It was just a couple of hours away but offered us the chance to get away from the city. Ella couldn’t stop talking about it, and Grace reminded her that it was a couple of weeks away.

They left around ten, and we hugged them goodbye. Ella was staying the night over the upcoming weekend, and I held her tight as I told her how excited I was. I loved having her here and the space to do so. Eventually, I wanted to buy a house with a couple more bedrooms and have a yard.

  Marisol

Kellen and I loaded up the car after work, and Kellen locked the door to the apartment. We left for the beach house tonight, and everyone else was joining us tomorrow. We got out of work early, and had the shifts handled for the next three days.

Kellen was going to deal with finding space for the second coffee shop when I got back. Garrett gave us the green light, and Nick was going to help out. He was flying to visit as needed, and I appreciated his help after seeing how nervous Kellen was as he discussed it with Garrett.

This weekend, we were ignoring all of it. I hopped into the passenger seat of the Jeep, and Kellen started the engine. He turned on the station that I liked, and I smiled at him as I stared over at him. “I love you so much.” He grinned, and I reached out to touch his leg. This man had seen every mood of mine and admitted to the things I never realized he was watching. He balanced me and made me smile in a way I never thought I would again.

“I love you, babe. This weekend is going to be perfect. When is Celia coming?” My sister had trouble making a decision, and I laughed at the mention of her name.

“Tomorrow. Last I heard. You never know with her.” I looked forward and thought ahead to just being at the beach for a weekend. I knew the weather might not be perfect, but it was time away from everyday life with the man I loved.

We made it in the late evening and unloaded the car. We bought some food to get started, unloaded that, and then our bags. We took a quick tour of the five-bedroom house and selected the one upstairs with a balcony. Every room faced the ocean and offered a great view. We stopped for dinner on the way and just got our stuff in the room and headed downstairs.

We watched a movie on the couch, and Kellen held me close. I looked around the dim room and almost wished we were going to be alone. Kellen asked me to take a walk on the beach with him in the morning before all hell broke loose and I agreed before falling asleep on him.

I woke up in bed and wrapped my arm around Kellen, apologizing to him for falling asleep. He laughed and pulled me close as I looked over the water. “Want to take a walk?” The sun was up, and it was beautiful.

“Yeah. Let’s get dressed.” He turned and held me to him, kissing me softly as I closed my eyes. “In a minute.”

It was thirty minutes later that we left the house and went to the beach. I was smiling after the way that he chose to wake up and walked forward as I took in the rolling waves. “I think I see shells.” I dashed forward and squealed as I saw some. “Kellen. Come here!”

I picked up a couple as I waited for him to join me. A few minutes passed, and I turned around with a frown on my face. He was smiling down at me, and I saw the love in his eyes before he dropped down to his knees. “Marisol, you are the woman of my dreams. I knew that my world turned upside down when I met you, and it never went back to normal. We’ve accomplished so much over the last year together, and I’m happy. I’m happy that my family loves you.” I covered my face with my hands as he pulled a black box from his pocket. “Will you do me the incredible honor of becoming my wife?”

“Yes!” I jumped at him, and we fell to the sand as he laughed. “I love you so much.” We eventually stopped kissing long enough for him to slip the diamond on my finger, and I marveled at the shimmering stones on the band. After I got my fill, I pulled him close to me and closed my eyes as I dreamed of our future.

Secret Baby Daddy: A Second Chance Romance Book 1

Gorgeous Baby Daddy and a Stupid Mistake...

Just hearing his deep voice, I could tell that he was extremely gorgeous. The man’s words were soothing.

His familiar green eyes looking down at me made my knees wobble like jelly.

And the gentle look on his face was enough to freeze me on the spot.

I still couldn’t believe that I’d just seen him again.

What the f*ck was he doing here?

There was nothing to worry about.

Although the idea of him having an anniversary celebration with his woman stung a bit.

  But what could I expect?

He’d always had a lot of women around him. He was one of the playboys.

It would have been more of a shock if he stayed single.

Every girl wanted that irresistibly gorgeous man. But for me, he was like an unreachable dream.

I pushed my wits and rationality aside to go after him.

And that was the stupidest thing I’d ever done.

A part of me wanted to believe that he was not a completely bad person.

On some level, I was relieved that I didn’t find him back then.

But why did he have to appear in front of me after all these years?
