Dauntless (The Agency Dark Affairs Duet Book 2) Page 16

by Amélie S. Duncan

He pulled out and moved us over to the shower and turned it on. There he pressed on my shoulders, and I bent down on the tile in front of him. He then guided his cock over to my mouth and rubbed it over my lips. The crown of his shaft was soft and slick. I couldn’t help but part my lips and run my tongue over the seeping head to please him. His salty sweet taste covered my tongue, and I moaned for him.

He groaned and pushed forward between my teeth, “Suck me good.”

I opened my mouth, and he fed his cock in deep. I sucked hollowing my cheeks as I drew on him,

“Fuck that’s good, Gia,” he praised as he gripped my hair tight. “More. Take my cock deeper.” I worked my lips around his thick length easing more of him in my mouth. I took in air through my nostrils inhaling more of his masculine scent. He moved his hips forward for me to take him deeper, and I swallowed. Elliott moaned, though eased his hold on my head. He stood me up. “Hold on.”

I grabbed his shoulders, and he lifted my leg and pushed inside me in a hard-sweet thrust. “Scream my name when you come,” he whispered.

I cried out. It was so good.

He kissed my neck as he drove in and out of me. “Scream my name.” He got out between thrusts as he slammed his cock in deep.

My climax caught me off guard. My fingers dug into his neck as I screamed his name.

He reached between our slick bodies and stroked my clit as I spasmed around him.

“Fuck,” he cried out, his cum flowing hot as he came inside me. We then kissed deeply, and I put all the passion and emotion that I was feeling into the caress. There were no words for now. Although when we calmed, he soaped his hands up and moved over every inch of my body possessively. Whether he was ready to say it or not, he treated me like I was his.

I, in turn, washed him. Afterward, I leaned my head on his chest and closed my eyes. I wanted him to be mine.

We left the shower and silently dressed, though Elliott kept me close. Touching and kissing me between our packing. I held his hand on the ride to drop him off at the airport. Before he climbed out the car, he kissed me hard on the lips, and said, “Call me when you reach Washington.”

“I will, but we need to talk,” I whispered. There was too much to say in a short amount of time.

“And we will. Soon, beautiful.” He kissed me. Then I watched him walk up the path to Trish, who was waiting for him.

He turned back, and our eyes met briefly, and my throat closed. I didn’t like the idea of Elliott going out in harm’s way, but I had to believe in my heart he’d come back, and when he did, I wasn’t going to hold back anymore. I wanted him to be with me.

Dane’s car was idling in the driveway when Kevin and I reached his home, and the door was ajar. “Hello?” I called out. Dane appeared in the foyer, his face slightly flushed when he saw me. “Gia, I’m sorry I haven’t called back. Angel was feeling ill, and we’re taking her back to the hospital.”

Nella appeared and gave me a wave with Melinda in tow. She broke away and rushed up with her arms raised, and I picked her up. “I’m getting ice cream at Auntie Nella’s.”

“You are?” I said excitedly and with a smile over at Dane who nodded. “Nella’s going to watch her while I stay with Angel for her checkup. After last night, she’s been restless.”

“That’s understandable,” I said, then spun Melinda around to make her giggle, which she did, before I placed her down on her feet.

“Daddy says Mommy and I will be princesses too,” she said.

My heart ached as she and Dane beamed at each other. His eyes shone.

“You… you already are princesses,” Dane said gravelly to her and she giggled. She ran down the hall, and he came closer. “I had told her to call me Daddy before all this, and she does, though I have tried to explain that I’m her brother.” The pain on his face hurt my heart.

I gave him a hug. “Love and care are all that matters,” I said. “She has a great daddy now.”

He stared off and sighed. “I intend to be a part of her life always, no matter what.” He turned to me. “I’ve been neglectful of you. It’s been chaos here. I’ve been thinking about taking her, Angel, and Nella away for a little while until things settle down.”

“You don’t have to explain anything to me,” I assured. “I came by to offer support, but I highly recommend taking a break.”

He smiled at me. “I’m glad you’re with me. There is a place for you here, Gia. I know Angel and Melinda would welcome you.”

“Thank you,” I said and cleared my throat. “But actually, I’m going back to Washington. It’s time for me to stop running and stand up for my life.”

“You never run, Gia,” he said. “That’s one of the many things I adore about you.”

He hugged me tight, and I hugged him back. I had thought of Dane as my dream man. Strong, kind, determined. All the things I admired and would have loved to have, but I found that I needed more. Someone that I connected with on a deeper level, someone like Elliott. I also needed Dane, and he needed them. Yet, in time, they could work things out and be a family.

He took my hand and brought me into the living room where Angel was on the couch. She held out her hand for me to take. “Gia, come talk to me.”

I glanced at Dane, who raised his brows and let go of my hand. He walked over to Melinda and took her out of the room.

  “You’re going away,” she said.

  I nodded.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I love Dane, and he loves me too.”

“He does, just like I told you,” I said. “You don’t need to be sorry for that. I’m happy.”

“I’m sad,” she said and frowned. “For you. It’s not over.”

“It will be very soon,” I told her. “Don’t worry.”

She shook her head. “My game is over…”

“No more about games,” Nella tutted as she walked over to us. “You promised you’d stop that nonsense. I don’t mean to be rude, Gia, but Angel needs to think in the present.”

“It’s fine, and I want to hear whatever you want to share,” I said to Angel.

“Angel needs rest right now,” Nella replied. “Last night was difficult for her too.”

“Of course, apologies,” I said and hugged Angel gently, then followed Nella out of the room, down the hall to where Dane was speaking with Kevin.

“I’ve arranged to have my plane fly you out,” he said to me on approach. “It’s the least I could do. I’ve given Kevin the information.”

“Dane, you don’t have to,” I said, but I knew him well enough to know it was useless to refuse. He pulled me in his arms and kissed me deeply. I broke away and shook my head smiling.

“What can I say,” he said. “I still want you. That won’t ever change.”

We stared at each other, and my heart expanded. “Goodbye for now, Dane. I’ll call you soon. Thank you.”

My return to Washington was sunny; conversely, the walk back to my house in Bellevue reminded me of how much I didn’t want to be there. I made a note to call the realtors to list the property and look for a temporary condo. I thought about going to Elliott’s, but I hadn’t asked. I had also booked a flight to my dad’s place in a couple of days. There had been no more incidents with me since the video, and with Kevin guarding me, I was safe.

After completing a few business phone calls with Stuart along with a few hours of zoning out watching TV, I ached to return to work, which I began planning as soon as possible. Although I didn’t want to return full time. Astrid and Perfetto were working fine. The work on Angel’s show had inspired me to take more action. I wanted to do something along the lines of helping women protect themselves so that they wouldn’t end up in my kind of situation. I put on dinner and simultaneously started to research ideas on my laptop. In the middle of writing out thoughts on my notepad, my phone chimed with an incoming call, and when I checked, I was happy to find that the caller was Elliott.

p; “Already finished?” I asked.

“Not yet, getting everything in place though,” he replied. “Just caught a break and wanted to see how you’re doing. You all right?”

My heart skipped a beat. “I am.” My doorbell rang and when I looked out the window, I saw it was Liz. My jaw tightened. “It looks like I have company outside.”

  “Who?” he asked.

  “Liz,” I replied flatly.

“Don’t go anywhere with her,” he told me.

“You don’t even have to say that,” I said, and we ended the call.

Kevin met me at the door with her. “I was about to start my check around the house when she walked up to your front path. Do you know her?”

I pursed my lips. I used to. “Yes, I do.”

She glared at him. “He frisked me.”

I shrugged. “Thank you, Kevin. I can’t be too careful these days.”

“I’m sorry for just showing up,” she said. “I spoke with Astrid, and she said you might be home.”

“I am, and I don’t want company,” I replied and crossed my arms.

“I won’t take too much of your time, and I’d like to explain what happened, please. A short chat and coffee?” She had only one local brew cup in her hand and held it higher. “I had two, but your guard threw your cup away.”

“I’ll let his boss know he deserves a raise,” I said and sighed as I waved her inside. “You can take a seat.” The bell in the kitchen went off. “That’s my dinner. I’ll need to turn it off before it burns. Wait here, and I’ll be right back, okay?” I walked back inside.

She followed behind me. “We can talk in the kitchen since you’re preparing your dinner. Do you need help?”

“No, thanks,” I replied stanchly and turned off the oven and removed the chicken out to cool on the top burner.

“Can I have some?” she asked holding up my glass of wine.

  I shrugged “Go ahead.”

She nodded and poured herself a glass. Then she drained it.

I took a sip of mine and put it down.

“Let me start by saying I’m sorry for what Marco did to you,” she said and touched her lips. “I didn’t have any choice. I was scared. I don’t have friends around me like you do.”

“You had me, and Astrid and my friends would have helped you too,” I replied. “You weren’t alone.”

“They have your video, but you’re not the only one that they have,” she replied. “They have a video of me too.”

  I frowned. “They do?”

“Yes,” she said her eyes downcasted. “My videos had me with married men at orgies. I didn’t know or ask at the time, but they sure showed me. The men’s faces were blurred, like yours, but there’s always someone who would recognize one of them. My reputation would’ve been absolutely destroyed if they leaked it.”

“But my life is the one that’s ruined,” I pointed out, my frown deepening.

“It’s not,” she said irritably. “You’ve always been the lucky one. Granted Patrick turned out to be an ass, but you had two good-looking men fall all over you. Your company is still going strong… It seems like with everything bad that happens, you find a way to make it good for you.”

I blinked. I never thought of Liz as envious. “It’s not like Perfetto isn’t suffering or that Patrick didn’t threaten to sue me. I just thought I had to try to fight back and help those I care about.” I tried to explain.

“You did it because you could afford to,” she said bitterly. “You’ve always been wealthy. You have a trust fund and money to start your own cosmetics company.”

“Even with money I had to get investors,” I pointed out. “I have worked hard too. I don’t even have access to that trust fund, you know that.”

She scoffed. “You still have the money, and your father helped you. I didn’t have any of that. I didn’t have anything to fall back on if my business were to fall apart. You say I could just walk away from my business and start over after they have destroyed it, but you never for once thought some of the other women and I might suffer a harder time than you.”

“That’s not true,” I replied, my voice rising. “My reputation is damaged. I just chose not to lie down and take it. It’s hardly over, but I either give up or fight.”

“Unlike me?” she said and snorted. “All the rest of us are weak. But you’d be thinking differently if you had no money to fall back on… I had at first thought it was wrong that I had been made to send you that sex video, but then I thought maybe it would be good to knock you down a few pegs. Now you can see that you’re no better than the rest of us.”

I clenched my teeth. I couldn’t believe Liz’s behavior, but I was having no more of it. “If that’s how you feel about me and what happened, you can get the hell out of my house.”

She lifted her chin. “Oh, I’m going.”

Liz followed as I led her to the front door. When I opened it and found Loren standing there, my eyes widened in surprise. “What are you doing here?”

She fidgeted her eyes shifting around. “I’m sorry to come over uhm without calling first, but well, you did the same to me, didn’t you? I… I have something I didn’t share last time that might help your case.”

“I left my bowl the last time I was here,” Liz said and hurried back toward the kitchen.

“You’ll get it when you bring back the red shawl you borrowed,” I yelled back at her. So, I can destroy it. I rubbed my temples. What was I thinking? I looked back at Loren who was chewing on her lip. Her green eyes, watery. “Come in.”

I showed her in, and when she took a seat on the couch, I went to find Liz, who walked back in with her arms folded. “I couldn’t find it. I’ll come by for it later.”

“I’ll mail it to you,” I said sharply and motioned her toward the door. “I have company.”

The back door slammed, and I startled.

“Kevin, is that you?” I called out.

  Liz laughed. “Go find out.”

A tremble went down my spine, and my pulse sped up. “Kevin?” I called again.

“No. I’m not Kevin,” A man walked into the room. He had on a well-tailored suit. His white blonde hair buzzed at the scalp. His eyes stood out in his highly angular face. They were colorless. There was something vaguely familiar about him. What was he doing here?

He cocked a brow. “We’ve met once briefly after the show on the street. I can understand you forgot because you were distracted and had to walk around Bryant Park to get to the entrance. Shame you made it back to Washington so fast. I planned to stop at the Waldorf Astoria tonight to meet up with you there, but, I, like you, cut my stay short in New York to meet you here. And yes, to answer the question written on your face, we have met before.”

My nerves jumped as sweat broke across my body. I had thought he was a security guard for the hotel. I hadn’t given him another thought. “I don’t care how we may have met. Kevin is my guard. He’s… out front. I don’t know how you got past him, but you should leave before he gets back.”

I waited for an answer as my heart pounded, but he just stared at me. Pressing on, I said, “I don’t know who you are or how you got in, but you need to get out of here before Kevin returns or I… I’ll call the cops.” I said the words, but I knew I was in trouble.

“I let him in,” Liz gloated, trying to bring my attention back to her. But I didn’t stop staring at the man, who is now a few steps away from me. I backed up and scanned the room, focusing on the windows. They were drawn to block the sunlight from my laptop, but the one near the door was open. If Kevin came on the porch, he could see what’s going on inside and help me.

“Gia’s smart,” the man said to Liz, cutting into my thoughts. “She didn’t hear a crash, so she knows I didn’t break in. She also knows if Kevin could come in right now he would, but he’s resting.”

My mouth went dry. “Resting where?”

“Where I left him,” he said and smiled broadly. “But let’s get back to your
threat. What was it? You said something about calling the cops. Now tell me how you are going to do that?” he purred.

My eyes darted around the room to my phone just as Loren quickly picked it up off the coffee table and shuffled her feet over to deliver the device to the man’s open palm. “Good girl.”

Loren glanced at me and started to cry. “I’m sorry.”

“Quiet now, baby girl,” he said. “You did well. Now, Gia, it’s best to stay calm.” He said, his tone surprisingly even. “You scream, and people will die. If you doubt me, I have a plant in the swat team that is accompanying Elliott to a house in Los Angeles, right now.” He took his phone out of his jacket. “A nurse with Angel and Dane; a cleaner at your father’s estate. My gun is in my jacket, and I’m quick. I’m what do you call it? Covered.”

My pulse became erratic, but I swallowed down my fear and fought to remain calm. He could be lying, or he could have those that I love and care for. I wouldn’t take the risk. “What do you want?”

He smiled. “Practical. No tears, yet, and you didn’t ask who I am. I guess you know. We’ll have plenty of time to get to know each other at home, but your attitude earned an answer to your question: I don’t have a want for anything, but I’ve been given you.”

A loud sob came out of Loren. “I’m sorry.”

“Shh,” he cooed to her. “You go wait in the car now.”

“I won’t forgive you,” I called out to her back, and she sobbed louder.

“I wouldn’t make her an enemy, little one,” he said. “She will be in charge of your food.”

I next glared at Liz who was looking like a cat that ate the cream. “I’ll never forgive you either.”

Liz smirked, “You will. You won’t remember any of this. Will she Dimitri?”

He let out a chuckle, then without warning, slapped her hard across the face and she crumpled to the ground. “My name is Simon.”
