Lazzar: The Kur'ik Minor Incident Page 3

by Serena Simpson

  Chapter Four

She woke up to find herself wrapped in Lazzar’s arms. That was a first for her. Should she get up and place some distance both emotional and physical between them? Wasn’t it time to come to her senses? The answer was probably yes to all the questions, but she couldn’t make her body move.

She was dizzy with the implications of what lying in his arms meant. Yet her heart kept rejoicing saying she was doing the right thing. When was breaking the rules, going against the establishment the right thing to do? Pushing her concerns away she snuggled up to his chest letting a sigh of contentment roll off her lips before her eyes closed again and she fell asleep.

He opened his eyes to look at her. When he felt her wake up, he laid perfectly still as he waited for her to come to a decision. It would have been so easy for her to slip out of his arms and reestablish control, reestablish distance. She spent her life in controlled environments keeping her distance away from those who would kill her if they caught her. It was second nature to her, she was created that way.

That’s why he waited through the painful process of allowing her to make up her own mind. He would not force her to be his female no matter how much his heart yearned for her to pick him over all others. It had to be her choice, any other way wouldn’t keep them together in the fight to come.

He could still remember when he first awoke. It wasn’t as a child that would grow and get to know his world. It was as a fully functional fighting machine who was already preloaded with the knowledge of what was happening around him. The rules were blatantly programmed into him, and they ran through his mind as he achieved consciousness. Rule number one he was never to touch a born without their express permission. The price of breaking that rule was death.

Rule number two he was created to fight a war over petty differences that the Kur’iks and Thalians wished to hold onto. His life was to fight and die. He was to take pride in sacrificing himself for such a noble cause.

Rule number three he would never mate or produce offspring the price of breaking that rule was death for him, his offspring, and whoever thought to mate with him.

He knew the rules could repeat them backward if asked, but he couldn’t stay away from Amira. She pulled at him, dared him to make a difference, to take a chance, and he wasn’t male enough to tell her no.

  She moved within his arms.

“Hi. You’re awake.” She gave him a sexy smile as she moved against his body.

  “I am.”

“Do you know what today is?”

  “What?”

“It’s the second day of our leave so let’s get up and enjoy it.” She leaned over and kissed him before she bounced out of bed leaving him grasping for her. “I call first on the immersion field.”

He got out of bed and followed her into the facility.

“Hey, I thought you were going to sleep all day,” she said as she gave her ass a small shake and disappeared.

He growled that shake making him rise from half mast to I need her right now. He followed her into the immersion field slowing his body to enjoy the feeling of being surrounded.

“I can’t imagine getting to enjoy something like this every day, but the born have it and have no idea how well the controllers take care of them.”

“I can’t imagine living with this luxury, but I would give it all up for more time in your arms.”

Her smile shook as she listened to his words. How could anyone who ever felt his lips on them or heard the words he spoke ever ask her to go back to a life before him? How could she in the space of one planet rotation give her heart away and not want it back? The safest place for it was in his hands.

“Turn around.” She grabbed the cleaning cloth and began to wash him. It was the role of a servant, some infertile’s were that wealthy that they had servants to do this very thing.

She was allowing herself to be submissive around him. Right now she wasn’t the Amira who was picked for the most sensitive infiltrating jobs. She wasn’t the best at what she did. She was simply a female who was willing to take care of her male. Her knees hit the floor as she washed the bottoms of his legs making sure he was totally clean before she stood and had him turn around.

His eyes smoldered with a passion he was trying to keep in check as she ran the cloth over the strong column of his neck and over his shoulders. Her breath was raspy as she cleaned his chest taking her time to make sure she didn’t miss a spot. Once again, she dropped to her knees the thought of all submissiveness retreating from her brain as she washed his thick shaft that was ready for any occasion.

The thick tip wept with his essence. When he made love to her and that was what it was, there was none of this scratching an itch so that she would fight better later. It was a thorough assault on her body that told her without words how much he appreciated what he was seeing and the female who was showing it to him.

There was emotion when he touched her, awe at her perfection and joy when he felt her respond to his caress. It was all forbidden, but at that moment she didn’t care all she wanted was more of him. Now she wanted to do something else that was forbidden. Her tongue wanted to lick his essence off the tip of his shaft.

Forbidden, she hated that word more and more with every planet rotation. Why was it forbidden? The controllers said it was forbidden because it would cause death. How could touching him with her lips and tongue kill her? Last night when he loved her his shaft had knotted deep within her making it impossible for them to part for a time but then he was able to slip out without damage.

If that happened in her throat, she would die. Is this what the controllers meant? If so, she could lick him without taking him into her mouth.

What was one more death sentence on top on the ones she had already earned?

Her tongue slipped out from between her lips allowing her to slide it across his essence. His strong legs shook as he felt her tongue and his hand found its way down to her hair sinking into it before she felt him clutching it.

She was so fascinated by the way his body reacted to her that she did it again sucking just a little on the tip this time. His harsh growl caused her to shake in her intimate parts as the desire to feel him deep inside of her increased. She engulfed the tip of his shaft needing to feel the pleasure coursing through his body more than she needed to feel her own pleasure.

Knowing that she could make him shake with nothing more than her lips wrapped around his sensitive areas made the hot shards of desire in her belly swell to overflowing. Her hand wrapped around him helping her hold onto him as well as stroking him covering more of his length. He growled his pleasure making her work harder for his release. His hips started to buck before he pulled her head backward. She watched the tip of his shaft grow and form a thick knot before he blasted his essence over her chest. She aimed his thick shaft at her lips moaning at the taste of him.

He picked her up placing her back flat against the wall and grounded into her making her scream as her body shook apart joining him on a journey she never wanted to end.

He washed them both quickly and stepped into the drying field allowing the warm air to cover their bodies in a feeling of pleasure that couldn’t compare to what had happened in the immersion field.

He laid her the bed looking at her as she slowly moved her body still reveling in the bliss of her release.

His mind skated to thoughts of tomorrow and the condemnation they would face. If they survived Declyn’s rage where would they live? After today he couldn’t, wouldn’t spend a night without her at his side.

  A reckoning was coming.

  *~*~*~*

“Let’s stop and watch.” They made love several times before they were able to control their desire enough to get up and dress. The smile gracing her face felt like it may be permanent.

Now they were walking down the street where there was a mock war being played out in an open field.

  “Haven’t we see enough battle?”

  “The bloody kind but thi
s is a war for the fair maiden’s heart.”

The look he gave her suggested that maybe everything wasn’t alright in her mental department, but she ignored him and sighed with the other females when the warrior killed the evil Thalian and swept his fair maiden off her feet giving her the coveted kiss.

  “That was so…”

“Unreal. First, they are created, and we both know created aren’t allowed to live. Second, if they had been born the thought of fighting would be abhorrent to them. I can’t imagine a born fighting for his life and definitely not the life of a female.”

He was right, but when she watched that little drama, the male became him tall and wide with shoulders big enough to carry any problem she would ever have. The female became her although she didn’t simper and fret while he fought. She fought at his side defeating the enemy, and together they rode into the yellow sunset.

  “You’re right.”

He looked down at her because some of the joy in her voice had diminished. He had done that, taken her joy away unintentionally.

  “It could happen you know.”

  “What?”

“That very scenario but I see it differently.”

“Tell me.” Her eyes were beginning to sparkle again, and her lips were trying to turn up into one of those shaft hardening smiles that he loved.

“There’s a very handsome created male who is fighting for the right to be with his created female. The whole system has declared they be put to death. Instead of him dropping his head and going along meekly he takes out his weapons and promises to fight to the death for the love of his female.”

Her eyes were sparkling now. She could picture it. Him against the backdrop of the dark planet dressed in his warrior’s garb standing tall against the controllers who were promising death.

  “What’s the female doing?”

“The enemy thinks she’s hiding, but in reality, she’s infiltrating their command base looking for evidence that will help turn the tide of victory. The male is fighting holding his own until he is attacked on all sides. He is going to go down unable to stand against the mass of controllers coming after him. He declares his love for his female one last time when she appears at the outskirts of the fray with reinforcements.

“They fight their way in until they pull him out of a sea of bodies. Then she reveals what she found. It was enough for the enemy to turn away and leave the female with her male.”

“Did they ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after?”

“No, they had to fight for every bit of respect they got and for the right to live together, but as long as her head was nestled against his chest every night, they called it a win.”

She clapped causing others to stop and look at her, but she didn’t care. “I love that story. Thank you.”

He pulled her close and kissed her not caring who was watching or who knew what they were.

  Chapter Five

“Open up Lazzar.” Arkel’s voice was edged with anxiety.

“Amira?” Kelsaire’s voice came through the door.

They were settled on the cushions. The day had been beautiful and ended with him taking her out to a late dinner. The walk back had been lazy filled with thoughts of what they would do behind closed doors. She was nestled in his lap telling him about the first time she opened her eyes when the knocking at their door started.

Lazzar was already up. He grabbed a weapon he had underneath one of the cushions in the room. His back was flat against the wall as he reached out to open the door.

Arkel thrust Kelsaire into the room and dove in after her. He slammed the door engaging all the locks.

  “What’s happening?”

“You’ve got the silencer on, but all hell is erupting outside of these walls.”

  “The Thalians attacked.”

“That’s impossible. How could they get close to Kur’ik Minor? This planet is protected.” She got up and went over to the window. There wasn’t much to see except the fact that there was a large shadow over the city. There was never a shadow over the city of lights.

“Battalion one come in. Battalion one?” Lazzar grabbed a communication device that should have never left the ship and wouldn’t have if he were a more trusting individual. There was nothing but static.

  “Lazzar?”

  “Alpha? Declyn, but how?”

“We’ll discuss what the controllers know and don’t know later. Who’s with you?”

  “Arkel, Amira and Kelsaire.”

“I need Amira to infiltrate the Thalian base they have set up planet side.”

“What’s happening?” He held his breath in times of war you didn’t question the Alpha you moved if you wanted to see another day.

“That’s what I want Amira to find out. I sent more of my battalion to the planet than I had orders to. The ship right now is safe, we pulled it around the dark side of the moon. The Thalians are not attacking us believing the numbers on the ground are so insignificant that a takeover will be easy. I will be coordinating the fight through you.”

  “Yes, Alpha.”

  “What did he say?”

“He wants you to infiltrate the Thalian base and retrieve any information you can.”

  “I’ll go with her.”

“No.” He was shaking his head. “Declyn didn’t ask you to go because the Thalians know our methods and on this planet, they can see us coming.”

  “I can do it alone.”

Once again, he shook his head. “I’m coming with you.”

“You know nothing about infiltrating the enemy.”

“Then I guess you’re giving me a crash course. Amira if they see you alone they’ll know what you’re doing, but they won’t know what to think if you’re with a male.”

She paced back and forth. He was right, and she knew it but was she willing to risk his life for some information that may or may not get them one step closer to what was happening?

  “What’s our cover story?”

“We’re born looking to get our first view of the Thalians who we’ve been at war with since before we were born, but we’ve never seen. You’re my female who is humoring me.”

“That might work. The infertile around us were more interested in seeing the invaders than running when I told them to.”

“How did you know to bring Kelsaire here?”

“There was the fact that she is crew and both Declyn and Enzo would gladly skin me alive if I left her behind. I also pay attention so I knew who you came in with and I knew who you left with. I may have given the patrol a bad description of you the night you made your escape.”

“I was sure his description was wrong and gave them one of my own.”

A smile touched her lips as she looked at the two of them, she wouldn’t ask any questions that may put them in jeopardy. Instead, she followed Lazzar’s lead and dimmed her eyes so that she would look like she was a born. This was why she would always choose to be created over born. They stuck together no matter what the situation was, Declyn demanded it of them since they were first brought together and now she couldn’t imagine it being any other way.

“Do you think this is just a coincidence?” She stopped, turning to look at Kelsaire and then at the males.

“No. I noticed there were no other battalions on the planet except for ours. When does that happen? The controllers don’t like to give leave I understand that, but I have never been on leave alone.” Lazzar told her.

“I noticed that also. Then there was the fact that everyone seemed on edge. When we purchased this room, I noticed the male shaking and thought it was strange that he would rent to males he was afraid of.”

“Amira, did you buy anything that will allow you to pass as an infertile?”

“I did.” She disappeared into the room they had been using. The manner in which the created dressed was a dead giveaway that they weren’t infertile. They liked to show off their assets but with taste and style. An infertile was more likely to let ever
ything show until she found the male for her.

She looked into the mirror, she was a nice cross of the two. The band she wore held and supported her heavy chest which gave you a peek a boo look when she moved. Her mid-section was left devoid of clothing which felt unnatural to her. She would have to depend on Lazzar to have a weapon because there was no hiding one in this outfit. There was a small sheath of cloth across her hips that rose just enough to make you think you would get a peek at her private business before shifting back into place. It was all done in a gold metallic that made her look good enough to eat.

She walked into the outer room to see what they thought. Lazzar knocked Arkel down.

  “Stop staring at her.”

Yep, she looked good enough to eat.

“What if they think you’re available and try to keep you for their own pleasure.”

She could hear the fear in Kels voice that she was trying to hide. It was a real risk that the Thalians were already collecting females to mate with their males. They would have been fighting for planet orbits just like the Kur’iks without a break.

“I’ll bring her back.” She nodded and watched as they made their way to the door.

“Stay here it’s not safe out there.”

Kels gave her a no shit look before she left. They were warriors both of them, they wouldn’t hide from the upcoming battle any more than she would.

  “You’re absolutely stunning.”

  “Thank you.”

He guided her toward the emergency evacuation stairs avoiding the lift. They were set in a small corner of each floor, and you had to climb straight down or up to reach your destination. Fortunately, these could be climbed in their humanoid form. They were four flights up. When they reached the bottom, there was nothing but silence.

  “Where is everyone?”

“Good question.” He reached out and took her hand. “None of this is adding up.”

They left out the back door stepping into a clear alley. There were no patrols and no Thalians.
