Serves 6 to 8
Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

2 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted
2 tbs. water plus 1 tbs. added during mixing if needed
2 large eggs
3 tsp. vanilla extract
1½ cups flour
¾ cup cocoa
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
6 tbs. (or to taste) peanut butter (I use crunchy)
Powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 2 x 9 x 13 baking pan.
Combine sugar, butter, and water in large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir into sugar mixture. Spread into prepared pan.
Place peanut butter in six mounds across top of brownie batter. Using a butter knife, cut through the peanut butter and swirl throughout the batter.
