I bring the gun to the Undead charging me, but it’s too late. They have moved with an eerie speed. They pounce, ripping into my flesh. My gun fires uselessly into the ceiling, and is then knocked out my hand. I hear it slide across the floor.
Gripping the vial, my thumb depresses the button causing the needle to spring out. I push the needle in my flesh, and instantly feel the fluid spurt into my body. The empty metal vial tumbles from my hand, rolling lazily away. I hear myself screaming into the office.
A woman bites into my wrist pulling out sinewy veins. Arteries burst open, spurting her face with blood. She looks pleased by this turn of events, devouring even more greedily.
I scream and scream into the dark emptiness. I am surprise that I can hear the inhuman growling sounds from these Undead over my agonizing screams. There’s more Undead flooding into the room. All of them expect a feast is at hand.
As darkness quickly folds over me, in my throes of my horrific pain, I remember my father’s guttural sound. The sound my father made right before I shot him. It’s now clear. He was trying to speak. He was saying to me, “Amen to Rot.” He wanted me to remember, that I am the last hope.
That growling is now becoming deafening. It rumbles into a room filled with Undead.
I realize that noise is coming from me.
