  Having spent my life as a writer in the prison of time, language, and this Cold War museum that is the divided Korean peninsula, I know the fragility of this freedom in which I live.

  About the Translators

  Anton Hur studied law at Korea University and has translated works by many authors, including Shin Kyung-sook and Park Sang Young. He currently resides in Seoul.

  Sora Kim-Russell is a literary translator based in Seoul. She has translated At Dusk, Familiar Things, and Princess Bari by Hwang Sok-yong, in addition to works by other authors, including Pyun Hye-young, Kim Un-su, and Jeon Sungtae.
