“I guess I did good picking him.” Elicia smiled once Winston walked away.
“Yeah, you did. I appreciate that. Thank you.”
“You always smell so nice and I’ve been meaning to ask you what kind of cologne that is you’re wearing.”
“It’s a men’s cologne by YSL. Starts with an L. Can’t pronounce the shit but it’s my favorite. Clear bottle with a big ass black top.”
“Well I will bring a bottle of it the next time I go on a date.” She flashed her big smile. I chuckled lowly and nodded. “So hey, Ishmael tells me you’re getting a divorce.” She started to walk with me towards my car.
“Yeah, I am.”
“Aren’t you sad? If I were to get a divorce, I would be miserable. I take marriage very seriously, and to know I had to leave it would bother me.”
“I mean, yeah, I take marriage seriously too, which is why it took me so damn long to let the relationship go. I would rather be married to someone I trust and all that good shit.”
“I understand. We all want to be happy.” She moved her hair from her face as she gazed up at me. “So hey, are you hungry? It’s this really good spot like five minutes away. The best Peruvian food you will ever taste!”
“I don’t know, I—”
“I promise you will thank me for it. And I think it’s good for me to get to know my boss. You and Kordell are always so busy that I feel a distance sometimes.”
“Aight, but after we eat I have to go.”
“No, yeah, of course.”
She got into my car, and then directed me to this place named Kotos. I’d never even had Peruvian food, but she said it was pretty much chicken and rice so I was cool. It was a fairly small spot, nothing too fancy or over the top, which I appreciated. The fancy places were where nosey muthafuckas hung out and took pictures of you to send to blogs and shit.
We placed our order after being seated, and once the waiter was gone, I looked at Elicia who was smiling widely.
“So what are you looking for in your next wife?”
“I don’t really know. I don’t write down traits and shit. But I’m pretty happy with the girl I have right now. She’s looking like the move for when I want to get married again.”
“Oh,” she perked up. “What girl are you dating now?” She cocked her head.
“Erynne, the one you see at my shows. You knew that.” I chuckled, sipping my drink.
“No, I mean yeah, I remember her, but I didn’t think it was anything serious. I’ve worked for a lot of celeb guys, and I’ve learned not to assume just because the girl sticks around a while.”
“Well I’m not like that. If I don’t see a future or any potential, I don’t need that female in particular hanging around me. Ain’t shit worse than wasted time, so I’m not a fan of spending mine with a bitch I don’t see shit with.”
“I wish there were more like you.”
“I’m sure I’m not the only one. Look harder.”
She just sat back in her chair, looking glum before she nodded. A small part of me felt like I’d crushed her dreams by mentioning Erynne. I hope I was wrong though because I’d fire her ass in hot minute if she tried to throw the pussy at me.
Jade
“Hey, what are you doing? I was thinking we could have dinner somewhere nice tonight. It’s Friday so we can come home and stay up all night,” Adrian spoke into my phone.
I was sitting in the parking lot next to the Comedy Store, a comedy club on Sunset Boulevard. I wanted to get out tonight, and since I didn’t have many friends, I came alone. I knew Adrian would have been down, but I was in one of my moods and didn’t feel like being bothered with her. Her offer was nice, sweet… and typical Adrian, but I wasn’t up to playing wife and wife with her tonight.
“I’m actually having dinner with a friend tonight.”
“What friend?”
“Uh… Darla,” I said, repeating the name that someone walking down Sunset had just called out. Thank God for that.
“Darla? Where did you meet her?”
“Adrian, this is why I don’t tell you things. I’m having dinner with her and we will just have to hang out another time.”
“Okay, how about breakfast tomorrow morning?”
“Great. I have to go; our table is ready.”
“I love you, Jade.”
I quickly hung up, and stared at the phone in my hand for a moment. I knew Adrian was tired of me switching up so much, and I was tired of it too. I was still very attracted to men, and the things they could give me like a baby or rough sex, but I preferred women at the end of the day. I enjoyed female body parts more than male. Why did I have to choose though?
I just wasn’t ready to commit fully to Adrian, and then be stuck with her forever. What if there was a great guy out there that could make me forget about my urges altogether? I mean Chaz did it for a while, until I met Adrian at work.
I believe that was part of the reason why I didn’t want to let Chaz go just yet. Out of all the men I’d dated, he was the main one who I’d actually fallen for. I honestly enjoyed sex with him and spending time. Yeah there were a few moments where I’d fantasized about a woman, but it was rare while with Chaz.
Before him, I would be faking the funk with the guys I dated, and hating the sex so much I would keep my head turned so we wouldn’t make eye contact during. I thought I’d finally fixed myself when I got with Chaz, and was elated when he asked me to marry him. But then Adrian had to come along and make me realize that I still yearned for a touch Chaz couldn’t provide me with.
“Shit,” I mumbled, getting out of the car.
I went to the little machine, and typed in my parking space number so I could pay. I then adjusted my purse strap, and started down the sidewalk so I could go inside of the comedy club. A few guys attempted to get my attention, which I was used to. I was always Jade the pretty girl, who was too stuck up to give niggas a chance, when really I was… different. I was actually quite friendly with the female population growing up, which is how the ‘rumors’ started.
“Damn, I just want to tell you that you’re beautiful as hell,” some short ugly nigga stopped me.
“Thanks.”
I stepped inside, and after paying and showing my ID, I got a stamp. I was shown to a table near the front, which I wasn’t too happy about because the comedians tend to pick on the people sitting closest to the stage. A few seconds after I was seated, a very short Hispanic woman approached my table to see if I wanted a cocktail or some food.
“An apple martini please,” I let her know, and she walked off to put it in.
More people filed into the club, taking seats and giving their drink orders. I paid special attention to the couples, trying to see if any lesbians were in the house for some reason. I saw everything but that of course, so I just turned my attention back to the stage to wait for the first person to grace it.
Once the room was full, the lights dimmed down some, and a spotlight was pointed towards the stage. A really tall white guy walked out, smiling widely as hell.
“How is everyone doing tonight?” he shouted.
“Great! Fine!” random people yelled all over the room as I sat there, not wanting to bring attention to myself.
“Good, good. I’m Jeremy, your host tonight!”
He continued on, telling jokes that were hits and misses, before finally introducing the first comedian; a guy named Hudson. He was tall, with deep chocolate skin, a long beard, and a low-cut fade with deep waves. He appeared to be in good shape, but wasn’t like some heavyweight wrestler. He was a nice looking guy and every time he walked by my area when pacing the stage, I got a nice whiff of his cologne.
He was funny as hell, which was a plus because I always felt bad when a comedian got up there and embarrassed themselves. It was like I felt obligated to at least chuckle so they wouldn’t look as stupid up there.
I moved my hair behind my ear, and his eyes fell on me, before a sexy smile spread across his face. I couldn
t help but to smile back as I tried to look away, not wanting him to focus on me.
“And what’s your name, beautiful?” he questioned into the mic. It was damn near silent in the room, as people waited for my response.
“It’s fine.” I shook my head with a smile.
“That’s your name? It’s fine? I guess it fits because you’re fine as hell,” he chuckled.
“Thank you. And no, my name is Jade!” I shouted up to him over the talking crowd, hating the heat from the spotlight on me.
“Jade, you look like you don’t believe shit a nigga says to you,” he replied, sending the audience into a fit of laughter.
I just shrugged with a smile as I sipped my drink.
For the rest of his set he would jokingly look my way and make flirty faces, causing the audience to laugh. I was so embarrassed because I hated the spotlight, but since he was so handsome it wasn’t too bad. The show was over after about five more comics performed, and before I could even stand up all the way, Hudson was at my table.
“Is Jade your real name?”
“Oh, yeah it is.” I pushed my hair behind my ears again. My weave was fresh, and my hairstylist, Shar, did a great job like always, so it looked real.
“Nice. So you came here alone? Or is there some big ass nigga in the bathroom that’s gon’ fuck me up for talking to you.”
“No.” I shook my head laughing. “No. I love comedy so I just wanted to get out. I go to comedy shows alone, a lot. Not that I’m alone a lot or anything but I just…” Sighing. I said, “Never mind.”
“So are you about to go home or can we get something to eat?” he asked me, and when I was about to answer, some other guy came up to give him dap. Once the guy left, Hudson turned his attention back to me, waiting on an answer.
“Yeah. sure. We can eat.”
“Saddle Ranch is right down the street, wanna go there?”
I nodded as I put my jacket on and picked my purse up. He took my hand into his, and as he led me out, a couple of girls that I assumed were his friends, spoke to him while looking at me funny.
We walked down to Saddle Ranch, and I admit I was a bit annoyed that he seemed to know so many of the people that we passed while walking down. That reminded me of Chaz, how everyone knew him and his brothers. I hated that so much!
Hudson was able to get us a table quickly since he knew someone, so we were seated in no time. I ordered water because I’d had my one alcoholic drink for the night, and he ordered a beer. The waitress went to put in our drink orders, giving us time to look over the menu.
“So you’re pretty famous,” I commented, still turned off.
“Nah, not even. Most of the people I spoke to are other comedians. I perform at the Comedy Store like three times a week, so overtime you develop a relationship with other comedians.”
“I see.”
That made me feel a little better, knowing he wasn’t some hot shot like Chaz. And even though Chaz was never one to bask in all the local fame he had, I just despised going places with him and having people act stupidly; even niggas. That was part of the reason I hated his music career.
“You must be crazy if you don’t have a man. You’re way too pretty for that shit.”
“Thanks, but actually I have a husband… that I’m divorcing.”
“Why?”
“We just don’t get along anymore.”
“Damn, and so now that’s it, huh? Divorce time.”
“Pretty much. But I’m not the only good looking one at the table. Where is your girlfriend? Or should I wait until she walks in here with your baby on her hip?”
Laughing, he clapped his hands and nodded.
“Absolutely not. I’m twenty-eight years old and have been blessed to not have any kids with a crazy woman. I don’t have any kids at all, or a girlfriend. Last girl I dated, we broke up six months ago.”
“Why?”
“She was lazy and didn’t have her shit together. I don’t like women who can’t get their own bread and shit, you know?”
“I see. I don’t like men who can’t get their own money.”
“I would hope not.”
The waitress set our drinks down and took our orders. The meals were hearty as fuck so I only ate about thirty percent before I was pretty full.
Hudson’s and my conversation went pretty smoothly, despite the restaurant being louder than a little bit. The conversation went so well that the next thing I knew, we were in his apartment, kissing like two dogs in heat.
He picked me up so I locked my legs around him, as he carried me to the bedroom. His lips were so soft, that I could kiss them all day. Dropping me down onto his big comfy bed, he dropped down to remove my shoes, and then reached up to unbutton my jeans before sliding them down my thighs.
“Your body is amazing,” he commented, making me smile as he kissed my inner thighs with his hands on the waistband of my panties.
“Oh shit,” I mumbled as his mouth latched onto my clit.
I fell back onto his soft ass bed as he pressed my legs into my stomach while he feasted. Licking my lips with my eyes closed, I began grinding against his face, sending sensual vibrations all throughout my body. I didn’t think anybody could eat pussy as good as Chaz or Adrian, but Hudson was definitely a nice runner up.
“Shit, right there,” I cried as he made love to my lower lips with his mouth.
My moans became high pitched as he devoured me, and soon enough I was cumming so hard I drenched his beard. My body shuddered as an aftereffect, as he yanked my shirt over my head and unhooked my bra. I hoped he wasn’t about to ask for head, because I’d only done it to Chaz. Somehow, I was phenomenal at it, even though I’d only done it to one man.
I watched him strip down, admiring his sexy chocolate skin. He didn’t have abs of steel like Chaz, but he wasn’t sporting a gut either. Trust me ladies, he looked good enough for an undercover lesbian to want to fuck.
He stroked his beautiful dick, and climbed onto the bed, getting in between my legs. He made eye contact with me as he kissed me slowly, and when I felt him at my opening, I spread my legs wider for him… way too ready. I’d been missing male intimacy since I’d only been fucking Adrian.
“Mmm,” I moaned softly as he entered me. He was thick, and it felt really good to me. Not to mention the feel of his rough hands was everything.
Locking my arms around his neck, I sucked his full cocoa colored lips into my mouth as he worked in between my hips with precision. He didn’t move too fast, and he knew just when to pull away and when to plunge inside of me. That was something Adrian had yet to master, and I guess it was because the dick wasn’t attached to her body. She was still very good in the bedroom though.
“Damn,” Hudson grumbled, still winding his hips into me, slowly hitting my spot.
I came hard, even though he wasn’t fucking me hard, and I thought that was amazing. Dropping his head, he sucked on my nipples while thrusting into me, and once I came again he flipped me onto my stomach. Propping my ass up a little, he slid into my vagina slowly, and fucked me hard and fast until we both exploded.
After panting for a little bit, he pulled out of me, while kissing on my shoulder blades.
“Can you stay?” he quizzed, and I just nodded, plopping my head against his soft pillow.
Chapter Seven: Cassie
The next afternoon…
Today I was meeting with that lawyer that my mother recommended to me, Johnathan Henri. I was nervous and a little afraid that he may be some scam artist like Ned. I just couldn’t risk someone trying to play me again when it came to my daughter. I’d fuck around and kill Johnathan’s ass, or have Erynne’s fake shy self do it for me.
“Mr. Henri is ready for you now.” The receptionist smiled.
“Thanks,” I replied, looking at my mom as I picked Melody up.
We walked to the back, following the receptionist as she led us to Johnathan’s big office made of opaque glass. She opened the door, and I expected to
see some old man, but he looked fairly young; late thirties or early to mid-forties. He was a white guy, with dark black hair, pretty eyes, and a tall solid frame. He reminded me of an older version of the actor Matt Bomer. He was extremely sexy, and my mom needed to jump on this one because Ned’s ass would be going into an old folks home soon.
“Thank you, Lisa.” Johnathan rose to his feet, smiling, deep blue eyes shining like a beautiful pool of water. “You must be Cassie, nice to meet you.” He shook my hand and then hugged my mother, kissing her cheek. I raised my brows at her and she chuckled.
“Melody.” Melody stuck her little hand out.
“Oh, I’m sorry, how could I forget the most important person here. Nice to meet you, Melody.” He shook her small hand. “Have a seat, ladies. Lisa, could you bring a pitcher of ice water and some coffee with creamer and sugar as well. Thanks.” He hiked his slacks up by the knees, and sat down across from the sofa we were on.
“Yes, Mr. Henri,” Lisa stared at his back, making it obvious that she was in love with her boss. He turned to look at her, I guess wondering why she was still standing there, so she turned around and left.
After Lisa dropped off the beverages, along with some shortbread cookies, Johnathan gave me time to settle Melody with a few, before we got down to business.
“Your mother tells me you were gonna work with Ned Parker?” Johnathan crossed his legs, and waited for my response as he held his pen and pad.
“Yes, but I think he was honestly sent to my mother to spy on us or something.” I felt so stupid saying that, because I knew it sounded farfetched, but it was weird that Ned popped up out of nowhere on my mother. And then for him to somehow know Miles too? Come on now. If I was wrong, that was a hell of a coincidence.
“Really? What gave you that impression?”
“Well, he kind of came out of nowhere and was really aggressive as far as trying to get close to me. And then my daughter recently found out that he is at the very least, acquaintances with Melody’s father,” my mother explained.
