"Of course not! Why would you think that?" I saw him sigh in relief. Did he really think I regretted it?

"You've been quiet the whole car ride, and wouldn't even look at me."

"I'm sorry." I replied lamely. His slight frown turned into a smirk.

"I know you enjoyed the kiss though, that's for sure." He had a big grin on his face. I hid my face behind my hair, making him laugh. He was such a tease.

"Jerk." I pushed the door open getting out. I put my key in the door getting ready to unlock it when I was pushed up against it. Dylan turned me around to face him.

"Your jerk." He declared before planting his lips on mine for the second time that day. Once again I lost myself in the kiss. His hands were in my hair as my arms were around his neck.

After a while I needed to catch my breath and pulled away from him. He gave me the sexiest smile ever before walking down the steps back to his car. He's just going to kiss me like that and leave?

My knees felt like Jell-O as I turned around walking into the house. I looked at my watch and saw it was 9:00, everyone was either sleeping or in their rooms for the night. I made myself a sandwich before heading upstairs. I flipped on my TV to find something to watch and saw South Park was on. I laid down intending to get some sleep, but my body didn't want to rest. I reached over grabbing my phone and dialed the number of one person I knew was up besides me. It rang twice before the person answered.

"Ashley? Miss me already huh?" He teased. I ignored him as I got the nerve to finally ask what I wanted.

  "Can you come over?"

  Chapter 11

I snuggled more into the person next to me as I was slowly waking up. The persons arm tightened around me even though I knew they were still sleep. I sighed in content. I knew having them next to me would help me sleep. Soon as I called and asked him to come over he arrived minutes later sneaking into my window, no questions asked. One of the things I liked about him.

"How long are you planning to lay there thinking about me?" He asked, eyes still closed. I blushed at being caught. He didn't really know what I was thinking right? Had to be a lucky guess.

"How long were you going to lay there fake sleeping?" I shot back, he laughed.

"However long I could." He answered honestly, I rolled my eyes. Rolling out of his arms I looked over at the clock. Jumping out of bed I ran over to my closet looking for something to wear. "Where's the fire?" He asked.

"Do you see that time?" I pointed towards the clock on my bedside table.

  "Yeah, and?"

"We have thirty minutes before school starts." I grabbed some cheetah print skinny jeans and a black shirt. Dylan sighed. "And you need to go home and get dressed."

"Ah, use me and kick me out, that hurts you know." He cried dramatically, grabbing his chest faking a hurt look. I rolled my eyes walking over to my bed, giving him a peck on the cheek. His eyes lit up. "I'd feel even better if you left one right here too." He pointed to his lips. I laughed walking into the bathroom.

"You better be gone by the time I'm out!"

Ten minutes later I walked downstairs and greeted Jake as he sat at the kitchen table eating.

"So... mind explaining why I just seen Dylan walk out the house looking like he just won the lottery?" That idiot used the front door? Wish I could smack him. I threw Jake the most innocent smile I could.

"He stayed the night that's all nothing happened." I told him, sitting at the table after making my bowl of cereal.

"Do we need to have 'the' talk?" He asked raising an eyebrow. I choked on my cereal.

"NO!" He laughed, and I glared at him.

"I'm picking up some guys from school so there won't be any room left for you to ride with me." He casually explained to me, like he didn't know he was my way to school. I frowned.

"How will I get to school then?"

"I believe as Dylan was walking out earlier he said, "I'll be back" so I'm just assuming it's to pick you up." Just then my phone went off alerting me of a text. It was from Dylan saying he's outside.

"Fine." I finished the rest of my cereal before grabbing a granola bar and my backpack, walking out the door. Walking down my path I saw Dylan's car parked out front. I hopped in slamming the door.

"What did my door ever do to you?" Dylan asked.

"Sorry didn't mean to do that, guess I'm stronger than I thought." I started flexing my arm.

Dylan chuckled. "In your dreams SpongeBob." I glared before handing him the granola bar. Haters gonna hate.

"I'm assuming you didn't eat breakfast." He looked so grateful for it that I laughed. I studied him as he drove the car and ate the granola bar. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and dark blue jeans.

"How far is your school from mine?" I asked.

"Only a couple minutes away, why?" He glanced over at me.

"Do you like being late or something?" He laughed.

"Well when you're alpha of the cat shifters you tend to not worry about silly tardies." He said smugly.

  I gasped. "You're an alpha?"

"Of course, I thought you knew that." He looked over at me confused.

"No." We were quiet as I processed this. He's so chill and carefree that I wouldn't have even guessed he was an alpha. I felt pride swell in me at this information.

We pulled into the school parking lot and I saw Lizzy and Derek sitting outside like always with the gang. Dylan parked, I saw him unbuckling his seatbelt as if he was going to get out.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Getting out the car?" He asked.

"No, you're not hanging out today. Alpha or not you're not being late to school for no reason." He rolled his eyes.

"Ashley its fine." He said trying to convince me to change my mind.

"No, you're staying." I opened my door to get out. Before I could get all the way out though, Dylan grabbed my arm pulling me back, crashing his lips to mine. This brings back memories, I instantly responded kissing him back. I reached up to tug on his hair and he let out a soft growl. I pulled away remembering anyone could see us right now.

"Bye." I told him getting out the car, not giving him a chance to respond. If I stayed any longer I was going to jump his bones in the parking lot. Bad Ashley! Don't think like that. I sighed, maybe Jake did need to have the talk with me after all. I walked over to my friends as I heard Dylan start up his car to leave. "Hey guys." I grinned at them.

I sighed as I sat in math class. Ms. Cram was currently grading last night's homework and I was super nervous. I looked over at Lizzy to see her texting away on her phone. At least one of us is confident about their grade. Finally, the teacher cleared her throat to get the class attention as she started passing out the paper. I wouldn't make eye contact as she laid my paper face down on my desk. I flipped it over and gave a quiet whoop. B+ yes!

"Some of you have really improved over the last week, and I'd like to think I had something to do with that." She said, as if she did anything to help us. Lizzy shot me a look and I giggled.

Once class ended I made my way to lunch as Lizzy stopped to go to the restroom. Pushing the doors open I inhaled the fresh smell of pizza. I don't know why people complained about lunch food, some of it is better than what my mom cooks.

I made my way to the lunch line and saw Jacob halfway up front. Quickly grabbing a lunch tray, I ran forward, jumping in front of him.

"Excuse you?" He asked. I looked back, smiling innocently at him.

"Oh my gosh Jacob I didn't see you there!" He raised an eyebrow at me.

"So, you're telling me you just randomly jump in front of strangers all the time?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Stop complaining not like you actually eat the lunch food." I reached out to grab a cheeseburger.

"Can't deny that." He shrugged. I paid for my food and started walking towards my table.

"Are we practicing today?" He asked catching up to me.

"If you have time." I told him.

  "Yeah I'm free, meet m
e in the woods later same spot." I nodded as he walked to his table. I looked over at his table and saw Blake staring at me, not knowing what to do I just gave him a small wave, before going to my table.

  ---

I groaned as I got in Dylan's car. Why must school last so long???

"You ok?" He asked. I looked over at him, making my heart skip a beat. I think kissing him awoke something within me. I'm more attracted to him now than I ever been.

"Yeah, just tired of school." I reassured, buckling my seatbelt. He started the car up pulling out of the lot. "Jacob decided we're going to practice again today in the same spot."

"Are you sure you're up for it? Don't want to rest first?" I could tell he was a little bit concerned.

"It's not for another hour anyways, I'm pretty sure he has homework." If he even does it. I don't know why he even goes to school. "Are you coming over?" I asked.

"Yeah if that's ok, I got an interesting text from Jake the other night threatening to cut my balls off if I did anything to hurt you." He chuckled. My eyes widened.

  "He said that?"

"Yeah, it's fine though that's the same thing I would've done if it was Amanda." He shrugged. Shaking my head brothers, can't live with them can't live without them.

We pulled up to my house, I patiently waited as he parked before getting out. Unlocking the door, I didn't hear anyone and assumed everyone was out. I made my way to the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" I asked Dylan.

"No." I shrugged as I dug in the refrigerator for things to make a sandwich. Taking out the bologna and mustard I sat down at the table.

"You're coming to practice with me, right?" I asked biting into my sandwich.

"If you promise to try and not kill me, again." He said. I giggled as he said this.

"I promise!" I grinned. I finished off my sandwich and made my way upstairs. I opened my door, grinning at my bed. "Honey I'm home!" I yelled before flopping on it face first, Ahhh. Dylan laughed at my theatrics. I ignored him as I snuggled into my bed getting under the covers. I looked up to see Dylan just standing there. I moved over and patted the space next to me. He grinned as he kicked off his shoes making his way over, before climbing in the bed.

"Is this what you do when your parents aren't home? Invite guys into your bed?" He gave me a disapproving look.

"You can always sit on the floor if there's a problem," I told him yawning. "Stay on that side of the bed."

"You weren't saying that the other night." He told me smirking. I blushed.

"Well it's a new day and I'm a new person, so stay over there." I demanded, closing my eyes.

"Fine." I heard him say. I didn't bother replying as I slowly started falling asleep. I loved after school naps.

  **

I heard something ringing and tried my best to ignore it. When it didn't stop after several seconds, I pried one eye open. Getting a more sense of my surroundings I realized someone was under me. Looking up I saw it was indeed Dylan, and he was staring at me. I blushed mad hard before rolling of him. "Didn't I tell you to stay on your side?" I glared at him.

"In case you haven't noticed, this is my side." I blushed harder realizing he was right. Before I could respond though the ringing started up again. I looked over at my side table seeing it was my phone. I reached over to grab it, seeing it was Lizzy.

  "Hello?" I answered.

"Hey! What are you doing?" She asked.

"Nothing just waking up from a nap." I looked over at my clock and realized we have to meet Jacob in ten minutes.

"Oh, that's so boring. Guess who asked me to prom!" She squealed in excitement. I sighed, I didn't care much for prom. I seen the flyers all over school and heard how every girl was talking about it. It was next week and honestly, I could care less. I was just planning to stay home and watch Netflix that night.

  "Who?" I asked.

  "Jacob!" I froze.

  "What? Jacob who?"

"Your friend Jacob, well not your friend but yeah. He asked me after lunch today." She said.

"You like Jacob? I had no idea." I told her.

"Are you crazy? I wouldn't say I like him, but he is the hottest guy in school right now. It would've been social suicide to say no." She told me, in a tone implying I should have already known that. I laughed.

  "Well good luck with that."

"You're not mad, are you?" She suddenly sounded worried. I frowned.

"No, why would I be mad?" I asked.

"I don't know, because he's your friend and all I didn't want it to be awkward." I laughed again.

"Of course it isn't! Jacob is barely my friend, I don't care what he does." I looked up as Dylan got out of the bed, making his way to the bathroom.

"Ok that's good, so who are you taking? Let me guess, Dylan? I swear he's attached to you where ever you go." I smiled at that because it was true. Even now he's here with me.

"No, I wasn't planning on going." I told her honestly. I heard her gasp on the other end and braced myself.

"What do you mean you're not going!? There's no way that's happening, you're going and that's final." I sighed, not bothering to argue with her. There's no way I'd win.

"I don't even have a dress Lizzy." I told her lamely. It was an excuse and we both knew it.

"Not a problem! We'll go looking for one this weekend." She told me.

"Well ok I'll see you then, but I have to go right now." I looked at the clock once more. Dylan was putting his shoes on.

  "KK bye!" I hung up.

"You weren't planning to go to prom?" Dylan asked me. I take it he was listening to our conversation. No privacy with supernaturals.

  "No."

  "Why not?"

"I just don't see the point, and I kind of don't have a date." I told him. He nodded as we both made our way to the door to go meet Jacob. Once we made it to the woods we spotted Jacob sitting on a rock, tossing a pebble up and down in his hand.

"Took you long enough, and I see you brought your practice dummy." He commented, referring to Dylan.

"I wouldn't call yourself that Jacob, you're also her teacher." Dylan replied. I just rolled my eyes at the both of them.

"If you two are done flirting I would like to start." I laughed at my own joke. The boys didn't find it funny.

"Right then, which element should we start with today?" Jacob asked getting down to business.

"Can we try earth again?" I heard Dylan make a strangled noise behind us.

"Oh god." He groaned, Jacob laughed.

"Indeed we can." We both walked over to a spot in the clearing, I inhaled the fresh air. I always loved the smell of nature. I slowly lifted my hands and roots started coming out of the ground, I grinned. It seems I finally got the basics down.

"I'm doing it!' I shouted in excitement. I twisted my hands and the roots followed.

"Ok let's try something else now, you've kind of mastered some of earth." Jacob praised. I lowered my hands and the roots returned to their spot in the ground.

"What are we going to do now?" I asked him.

"I thought about teaching you how to control air, but I want you to learn something else first." He started walking away from me. "It's called teleportation, I want you to try and teleport where I'm at."

"Ok tell me how." I would love to learn that. Imagine if I'm at home hungry, I could just teleport to the kitchen then back to my room.

"First take a look at the area around me, memorize every little detail about it." I did as he said studying everything around him. "Now imagine yourself floating to me, really concentrate."

I focused as hard as could. After much concentration I felt the air start shifting around me, I felt weightless. I opened my eyes only to see I was standing next to Dylan. I flushed in embarrassment.

"Well, it's clear where you want to be," Jacob smirked at me. "Not exactly where we was aiming but at least you got it." I didn't even pay attention to Dylan when I was focusing on Jacob, so why the heck did I come over here?

  Dylan wrapped hi
s arm around my neck, pulling me into a headlock. "I'm not surprised this is where she ended up, I am irresistible." He ruffled my hair before kissing my cheek. I blushed like crazy at his actions, trying to fix my hair once he let me go.

Jacob was studying us, and I started shifting on my feet. "It seems every time you use your powers they go to Dylan." He said thoughtfully. I looked at him like he was crazy, then realized he was right. The fire, vines, water, and now this. "Well we're done here." He said, waving us off.

Already? We only tried one new thing! I wasn't ready to leave, I wanted to learn more. But from the look on Jacob's face I could tell he was elsewhere right now. Sighing I started walking back towards my house, Dylan following close behind.

  ---

I was laying face down on my bed as I did my homework. Dylan was leaning back against the headboard, flipping through the channels. I sighed in frustration once I realized I got another problem wrong when checking the back of the book.

  "Need help?" Dylan offered.

  "Need help?" I mimicked him.

"Come on now, don't be immature." He laughed.

"Why are you even still here?" I asked, glaring down at my math book. No one invited him to chill with me.

"Didn't feel like going home." He shrugged causally. I let out a loud huff. I squealed in surprise when I felt myself getting pulled back. He pulled me back against his chest, sitting me between his legs.

"Why are you being so cranky?" He mumbled against my neck. I shivered at the feeling.
