The Alien's Rules

  Chapter Twenty-Five

A few Earth days had passed, and Ellie had been anxiously waiting for Valodar to take her to the Den of Delights and Discipline for her misdeeds. Though he hadn’t said that’s what he’d planned to do, it seemed to her that’s where they’d probably end up, but he hadn’t even broached the subject of her chastisement. It was only a couple of hours before they were due to leave for the banquet, and recalling his wish to have her punishment dealt with before the big event, she was wondered if he’d forgotten about it. It was unlikely, but while she had been exploring the exotic new materials she could incorporate into her pottery, he’d been extremely busy with the upgrades of the station’s security. Perhaps it had slipped his mind. Was that possible? Was she seeing the first chink in his alien armor?

She was in the closet, sorting through the various garments trying to decide what to wear, trying to push the subject to the back of her mind so she could focus on the task at hand, but it wasn’t easy. It was such a big thing. How could he have said not a word? He couldn’t have forgotten, could he? When she heard him come in, she walked into the living room to greet him, and found him standing by the fireplace with his arms crossed, looking very solemn.

“Valodar? Did something happen? You look grim.”

“I’m not grim,” he replied, “but I have been considering your punishment.”

Her heart jumped. Finally, but though she felt relief, she also felt the shiver of apprehension. He looked so serious. What had he come up with? Her skin goose-bumped even though she had no idea of what it might be.

“Unfortunately, there isn’t a spanking hard enough,” he began, “or a length of time on the ball long enough, or any other options I can think of, to sufficiently and appropriately discipline you.”

“Valodar,” she squeaked, “what are you saying?”

“Let me finish,” he scolded. “I’m getting there.”

“Sorry,” she said hastily, wishing she could learn to be patient, and wondering why she was always so quick to interrupt.

“I have, however, come up with a solution. You must decide your own punishment. You will be spanked of course—all punishments involve a spanking—but in addition, you must devise a way to show me that you understand the gravity of what you did, and that you fully understand your role in this relationship. “

“How am I supposed to do that?”

“You were clever enough to think of the idea for the fake fighter pods. I’m sure you can manage this.”

“I’ll try,” she mumbled, her mind already racing. How could she come up with her own punishment? Was that even possible?

“Ellie, that was not correct. I gave you an instruction. What do you say when I give you an instruction?”

  “Yes, Sir Valodar.”

“That is something you’d best not forget,” he warned. “To ensure you behave at the banquet, to start this off and put you in the right frame of mind, I’m going to give you a sharp spanking, and Ellie, I’m going to seal the sting.”

  “Yes, Sir Valodar.”

Seal the sting! She knew what that meant. Her bottom would be stinging and hot for the banquet, and for as long as he wanted it to be afterwards.

“Follow me into the bedroom, and when I sit on the edge of the bed, you’re to lie over my lap.”

Rising from his chair, he turned and walked away, and as she hurried after him, to her surprise, ideas began floating into her head.

“Sir Valodar?” she began, as he strode across to the bed and sat down.

  “Yes, Ellie?”

“I think I know what to do.”

  “About your punishment? Already?”

“I think so. Yes, I do,” she replied as the ideas became clearer.

“Hmmm, very well, I will spank you first, then you will tell me.”

She crawled over his lap, a position she had come to love, even when he administered a vigorous hand to her backside, and as he lifted her skirt to her waist, exposing her naked behind, she let out a sigh of satisfaction. She’d been anxiously waiting for this, for the start of her discipline for having done what she did, and she was greatly relieved it had finally arrived.

Taking a moment to enjoy the sight of her full round cheeks, he smoothed his large tingling hand over her skin. They were glorious, he would never tire of gazing at them, and he lightly pinched and squeezed for a short time, watching the blood come and go, building her anticipation.

“Do you understand why I’m going to spank you soundly and seal the sting?”

“Yes, Sir Valodar. This is the beginning of my punishment for all the things I did the day we faced the Sparians, and to make sure I behave tonight, and not be rude or speak out of turn.”

Satisfied with her answer, he raised his palm and brought it down with a significant smack, then followed it with another, then another, and repeated the three same slaps on her opposite cheek. He continued in a steady rhythm on the same target areas before traveling his hand to her sit spot. She was beginning to writhe on his lap, and her ouches and ows had become fervent.

“That, young lady, was for searching me out, and as I was watching your skin turn red, I decided that you will receive a hot spanking for each part of your crime. Next time you will be punished by the ball for wandering around the Terminus without permission. For hiding when you thought you might be caught, you will be bent over a flogging table in the den, and I will use my extended fingers. Then for not letting me know you were in the pod, there is a sparking paddle that is entirely appropriate for something so reckless and dangerous, and lastly, you will be back over my knee as you are at this moment, finishing as we have started, for messing with my command center in the closet. Now ten good swats with my paddle hand to finish.”

She was about to ask how much time would lapse between each spanking, but his paddle hand landed with a hot swat, making her yelp, and all thought fell away. He delivered the promised ten smacks slowly, moving his hand down her bottom as he continued, then back up to finish in the center of her cheeks.

“Sir Valodar,” she squeaked. “I will never do anything like that again.”

“I’m quite sure of it,” he replied. “Be still while I seal in the burn.”

  “Sir,” she whimpered, “must you?”

“Since you asked, then yes, clearly I must. You will learn to accept your chastisement without question, Ellie. You know that is a rule.”

  “Yes, Sir Valodar, I’m sorry.”

His hand was comforting, but she knew the soothing caress wasn’t soothing at all, but was ensuring her backside would be hot and stinging until he chose to relieve her. An extra day! When would she learn to keep her mouth shut?

“On to your knees,” he said firmly. “Tell me what you’ve come up with for the rest of your punishment.”

Taking up the position in front of him, though she knew rubbing her skin wouldn’t help, she couldn’t help but try.

“Thank you for correcting me, Sir Valodar,” she murmured, just as he’d taught her. “I have learned my lesson, I have, I truly have.”

“I certainly hope so, now tell me your idea, or is there more than one?”

“There is,” she nodded, “but ooh, I do sting, Sir.”

“I am very aware of that; continue, please, we must dress and head to the banquet.”

“Yes, Sir Valodar. First, I will remain here in your chambers until you give me permission to leave. It fits because I left here when I shouldn’t have, so to be confined would be appropriate.”

  “I agree, continue.”

“Second, I will learn how to make the things you like to eat. I don’t know how, but perhaps Ganjin can help me, but regardless, I’m sure I can figure that out, and I will wear only very sexy garments all the time, garments that will please you, or no garments at all, if that would be your pleasure.”

“I don’t see that as punishment, Ellie. I see that as something that would make you happy.”

“It will, but you asked me to think
of a way that would demonstrate how I see my role with you.”

“Ah, yes, I stand corrected. Good, I like it. Continue.”

“Third, when I am alone here, I will spend as much time as you tell me kneeling in a corner, thinking about what I did, and when you return, I will tell you what I thought about.”

  “I approve. What else?”

  “Uh, that’s everything, Sir Valodar.”

“There is one more thing I will add. I will bring you close to orgasm, but will not allow you to climax until your chastisement period is ended.”

“Oh, Sir Valodar, that is a hard punishment, that is a very hard punishment.”

“But nothing less than you deserve, correct?”

“Yes, Sir Valodar. Oh, dear, how will I ever survive this?”

“It’s amazing you survived the conflict with the Sparians, so clearly, this sentence is exactly right.”

“When you put it like that, yes, Sir, I suppose it is.”

“There’s no suppose about it, Ellie. I believe you fully understand the gravity of what you did, and we can put the entire episode behind us.”

“May I ask, Sir Valodar, when my chastisement period will be ended?”

“When I believe you have been sufficiently disciplined, and I’ll know that by your attitude and behavior. Up off your knees now, and sit next to me,” he said, his voice softening. “Let me give you a hug before we change for the banquet.”

“I’m looking forward to it,” she said, curling into his lap and sinking into his arms, “but how am I supposed to sit?”

“You’ll have no choice, and I am sure it will help you be a very good girl.”

“Oh, yes, a very, very good girl,” she sighed. “Ouch, ouch! You are so strict!”

“And you are so naughty! You know I’ll be given an ambassadorship. It’s a big promotion. It will mean larger and finer chambers, and as my love partner, you will be important. You cannot be running around hiding in fighter pods.”

“I get it,” she said, “and I promise, no more crazy stunts.”

“I love you, Ellie,” he said softly, “and I will be so proud to have you at my side.”

“Valodar,” she sighed. “I love you too, and I’m so lucky to be with you. I’m the luckiest girl in the world… or rather, the galaxy.”

  * * *

As they walked into the magnificent banquet hall, Ellie abruptly clutched Valodar’s arm. She wasn’t prepared for the array of aliens parading around the room.

  “What’s wrong?”

“It’s just… well… look!” she exclaimed. “How do I deal with this?”

  “Don’t stare, and be polite.”

“Right, that’s going to be easy,” she mumbled as a bizarre-looking creature moved past her on all fours. “I think I have a better idea.”

  “What’s that?”

  “I’ll pretend I’m at a Halloween party.”

“Ah, yes, that might work better,” he grinned. “In fact, that’s a very good idea. Just don’t compliment someone on their costume.”

  “Ha! Very funny.”

“Yes, I thought so,” he chuckled.

The highly decorated tables were set up in groups of six, and Ellie was relieved to find herself in familiar company. Commander Tavlon was with his beautiful wife, also a Xan, who was warm and charming, Ambassador Golan and his wife, looking strangely tall compared to the other Quillians she’d seen, and an extra chair had been arranged for Endolin, who was thrilled to be seated at such an important table. The festivities began with speeches and toasts, and when the chairman of the board of elders announced Valodar was to be the station’s new ambassador for Xanadu, everyone in the room rose to their feet and cheered as he moved to the podium to make his speech.

“Thank you,” he said as the applause began to die down. “I’m deeply honored to have been made an ambassador, and I promise to do all I can to maintain the peace in our galaxy. I’m not very good at speeches, but with your indulgence, there is something I wish to share. You probably all know, I’m the only monitor who carries an antiquated lead writing instrument and a piece of parchment in my collar. It has been the subject of great amusement by many, and I understand why, but what you may not know, is that they were of great help when Commander Tavlon and I were trying to unravel what was happening with the Sparian warship. I built something a while ago, and if you saw it, you’d tell me to throw it into the burners. It has ancient switches and old knobs, but it functions extremely well, and cannot be compromised by outside forces as our fighter pods were, or discovered by someone wearing another’s beads, or even my beads if they managed to get hold of them. It’s probably one of the most secure pieces of equipment on the station. There is an Earth female with us tonight, and of course, I’m referring to Ellie Blake.”

The room suddenly burst into loud applause, and as she stared up at Valodar, she felt herself blush with both pride and embarrassment.

“Like my lead writing implement, the parchment, and my antiquated communications center, the planet Earth is seen to be backward. The inhabitants fight, they struggle for survival, many do not see the beauty of their planet, or appreciate the gorgeous creatures that roam their forests, fly in their skies, and swim in their oceans. Heads of nations are corrupt, and broken promises are common in both the privileged and the poor; yet, in spite of all this, it was Ellie, a backward human, who was, who is, the true hero of our salvation. Were it not for her, none of you would be here tonight. This station would be occupied by the Sparians, and we would all have been vaporized or enslaved. I believe we are too quick to throw away the old, as we embrace the new. Though in my most privileged position I will be looking ahead, I will also be looking back. A grandfather possesses the wisdom his grandchildren ignore at their peril. History is our greatest teacher. Just because something is old, backward, or outdated, does not mean its usefulness has passed, or we cannot learn from it, and I hope, as ambassador of Xanadu, I can influence the board of elders to extend its hand of welcome to planets like Earth. If we had more humans like Ellie in our midst, while our lives would probably be more challenging, they would also be more adventurous and exciting. Please, everyone, as Ellie joins me here at this podium, welcome her as the heroine she is. Ellie?”

“Go on,” Endolin said urgently, staring at Ellie who was sitting frozen and red-faced in her chair. “You’ve been wriggling ever since you sat down. Now’s your chance to get up.”

“I’ll escort you if you would like me to,” Tavlon offered.

“Yes, yes, please,” Ellie breathed. “Thank you. That would be great.”

To the applause of the crowd, holding Tavlon’s arm, she walked with him to the stage, then stepped up and stood next to Valodar. Staring out at the bizarre-looking audience, everything felt completely surreal, and it reminded her of the dreams she used to have, when Valodar was a faceless stranger. It felt so long ago, and as the applause finally died down, she stared up at him, filled with emotion, not sure what she should do or say. Sensing her unease, Valodar leaned into the podium.

“On a much lighter note,” he began. “I’m delighted to announce that Ellie has agreed to pair with me, so we have much to celebrate.”

A fresh round of clapping began, and she began to feel more confident.

“Should I say something?” she whispered.

“If you have something you want to say,” he smiled. “Do you?”

“Uh, yes, I think I do. Where’s the microphone?”

“Just keep your head near the podium. We don’t have microphones.”

  “Of course you don’t!”

“Stand here,” he said, moving her into position.

The room fell quiet as it became evident the Earth female was about to speak, and nervously, Ellie gripped Valodar’s hand.

“Thank you for accepting me like this, and what Valodar just said is true. Earth does have a lot of problems, and maybe some humans have lost their way a bit, but that doesn’t mean all have, or that the
human race is a lost cause. Most everyone I know has a really loving, kind heart. Valodar has reminded me about the importance of keeping a promise, taking responsibility, and following rules. You may be technology advanced, like, seriously advanced, but what I find more compelling is how you have found a way to live in harmony, and maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s because you have learned about those things and give them the weight they deserve. Perhaps that’s what Earth needs, that same reminder, but as the sole human on this station, I feel truly blessed to be here, and to have been chosen by this amazing Xan,” she said, gazing up at the beautiful alien male beside her. “I am so looking forward to learning about you all, and discovering your planets. Thank you.”

“I’m so proud of you,” Valodar whispered. “I swear, I’ve never been prouder in my life.”

  “Really?” she beamed.

  “Really!”

“Does that mean you’ll take the burn away when we get home?”

“Nope, and you just got yourself an extra Earth day.”

  “What? Another one?”

“Rules, Ellie, those are the rules.”
