"I've been better. But I'm okay."

  "Great."

"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?"

"Mmmm... Sure... this is..." Teddy fumbled with the words.

  "I'm Mye Queen." Queen interrupted.

Jaydan simply gave Queen a fake smile and continued her attempt to engage Teddy in a conversation. A conversation he was seriously trying to avoid like the Eboli virus.

  "So where's Paul, getting changed?"

"He’s in the bathroom. He should be down any second now." Teddy answered. "Did he know that you were coming?"

"No, I thought that I'd surprise him."

“He’ll be surprised alright.” Teddy mumbled beneath his breath.

Queen could hear Paul coming down the stairs. "This ought to be priceless." She thought to herself as she heard him call her name.

"Queen, I thought you said somebody was here to see me."

  "We're in here." She answered.

As he entered the room he could tell by Teddy's face that something was up. Queen on the other hand had put on her poker face. The pair of them were acting so odd Paul was totally unaware that Jaydan was even in the room until he heard her southern drawl.

"Hey Paul. I hope you don't mind me dropping by to see you. I was driving by and I saw your truck. So, I figured I'd stop by and see if we could talk."

"Jaydan what are you doing here?"

"I just told you. I wanted to talk to you."

Paul looked at Queen. Queen brushed by him on her way out. "I'll be in my room." She mumbled.

"No stay here. I want you to meet her." He said as he grabbed Queen by the hand to stop her from leaving. "Jaydan did you meet Queen?"

"Teddy's friend? Yeah I met her."

"Actually Queen is not Teddy's friend she's his roommate. And she's my girlfriend."

"She's your what?" Jaydan asked in her thick Georgia accent.

  "Queen's my girlfriend."

"So when were you going to tell me that you were dating again?" She asked as if he owed her an explanation. "Matter of fact who is she and where did she come from? I've never seen her before in my life."

"I'm going to go, so you two can talk."

"That's right you need to go." Jaydan snapped at Queen.

"Hold up slow your roll Cousin It. Queen lives here she's not going anywhere." Teddy interjected. "Coming in here like you run shit. What’s wrong with you?"

"Jaydan, I asked you a hundred times not to stop by unannounced." Paul grumbled.

"Oh I have to call before I come and your new bitch gets to live here? What the hell ever."

"I'm not going to be too many more bitches." Queen warned.

"Really bitch? What you going to do bitch? I'm right here bitch? And what bitch?"

Queen made a sudden move towards Jaydan, but Teddy quickly grabbed her by the waist to hold her back.

"I swear to God this rude ass trick is just asking for a smack down." Queen snarled. "I'm cool you don't have to hold me."

"Jaydan you got to go." Paul insisted.

"We need to talk. Then I'll go."

"No, you've got to go right now. This is Queen's home. I'm not going to let you come in here and disrespect her. Besides we've already discussed everything that needs to be discussed. It's over and ain't a damn thing you say going is going to change that."

"I just need to talk to you. It's important. Just give me ten minutes alone with you. Okay?"

Paul looked at Queen for approval. Queen nods that it was okay. "Alright, I'll walk you out to your car."

"Okay. I'm ready." Jaydan replies as she eyeballs Queen. "I'll see you later Drag Queen."

"Suck my clit you fugly cunt with a bad weave." Queen retorted.

"Who the fuck do you think you're talking to bitch?”

“You bitch. What other fugly cunt do you see in the room.” Queen snarled.

“I will fuck you up!" Jaydan roared as she attempted to fly pass Paul and swing on Queen.

Paul catches her in mid swing and drags her out kicking and screaming obscenities at Queen.

"Jaydan! Stop! Okay, that's it, let's go." Paul said as he picked her up, tossed her over his shoulder and headed for the door.

Queen stood watching as they left. Needless to say she was so fucking pissed. "I don't need this bullshit, none of it." She declared. "First Logic, then Zoey and now this trick ass bitch... Fuck that! This shit is insane."

"Don't let that troll get to you. She's just trying to start some shit." Teddy advised.

"Yeah, I know. And I usually don't let these two dollar whores get to me. But this bitch has just placed a down payment on a ghetto beat down."

"Her problem is she over estimated the value of her pussy. She didn't think that Paul would find anybody like you to replace her."

"No her problem is that her purty mouth is about to get her fuckin ugly ass whipped." Queen vented.

"Fuck her! Paul's done with that uppity bitch anyway. End of story," Teddy said as he headed for the kitchen. "Stop worrying about these bitches. Hey, are you hungry? I can make us a couple of sandwiches."

"No, thanks. I'm going to my room. I'm getting in the shower. And then I'm going to bed, alone."

"Good luck with that one." Teddy laughed.

  CHAPTER 11

Once identified as the quarterback's hot new chew toy, Queen was quickly labeled the most coveted kitty kat on the campus. Apparently she derailed Jaydan as the new trophy girl. Actually, hot as the Haitian noon day sun, Queen was already the most desired woman on the FDC campus. Now, as the new and improved trophy girl, Queen was hit on by every three legged baboon with a pulse on the campus.

"If I hear one more lame, sorry ass pick up line I am going to vomit in my mouth. What a hellhole my college life has become." She murmured to herself. "I should have just kept my ass at College Park."

As busy as she was time appeared to be stuck in slow motion. After what seemed like an eternity her Advanced Human Physiology class finally let out. As she left the classroom she literally walked right into Logic.

"Damn will this shit ever seize?" She complained.

"Are you okay Mye Queen." Logic asked as he helped her pick up her books that were knocked from her hands in the collision.

  "Yeah I'm okay. Thanks, Logic."

"Imagine running into you here." He joked.

  "Imagine that." Queen smiled.

"Boy, I thought I’d never see that again.”

  “What’s that?” She asked puzzled.

“Your beautiful smile, smiling upon me.”

  Queen reserved comment.

“Look I hope I didn't cause any real problems between you and Paul the other day. He seemed quite pissed. I guess you've figured out by now he has a little problem with jealousy. He's not beating you or anything is he?" Logic teased.

"Go to hell Logic." Queen retorted.

"I'm just kidding. Look, I know you probably couldn't talk like you wanted to. That's cool. I understand. I just want you to know that my invitation still stands. Give me a call. I'd love to..."

"Stay the hell out of her face." Teddy interrupted as he pulled Queen away. "That was what you were about to say, right?"

"Whatever man. Look, Mye Queen, you have my number don't be afraid to use it. We need to talk." Logic replied.

"Nigga if you don't get your simple ass away from here, I will..."

"Bear! What is your problem?" Queen cuts him off. "Logic I'll talk to you later."

"Okay I'll see you in class." Logic replied as he departed.

  "Let's go, Bear."

"Let's go, Bear, my ass! Why you keep letting that fool get up in your face. Cut his ass off at the quick and he'll leave you alone. Why do you keep entertaining him?" Teddy argued. “You like it don't you?”

“What? What are you talking about?”

“Keep stirring up shit and there's going to be trouble. He has one time to say some bullshit to me and I’m going to bust his ass."

  "Bear, he wasn't
even doing anything. Stop picking a fight with him."

"I see the problem. You're still soft on that nigga, aren't you?"

"I don't see how that's any of your concern?"

"Just answer the damn question Queen. It’s a simple question"

"What are you two fighting about?" Jade asked a little surprised to see them arguing. "I could hear you all the way up the hall."

"My boyfriend here, is upset that Logic tried to talk to me. I guess he thinks I can't speak for myself." Queen sarcastically responded.

"Your boyfriend, what are you talking about?" Jade asked puzzled.

"Queen's, just trying to be funny. She's lucky I'm not her boyfriend, because I would have knocked her ex-boyfriends bitch ass the fuck out."

"Well lucky for me you're not. You really need to learn to mind your damn business."

"You need to learn that you are my damn business. How many times do I have to say it?"

"Whatever Bear. You're my roommate. You're not my damn man!"

"If it had been Paul, who walked up on you with that nigga in your face, believe me when I tell you that he would have broke his foot off in Logic's ass. You can get mad if you want, Queen. All I am saying is keep that ass wipe out of your damn face, before some shit goes down."

"Bear, I was going to talk to Logic about it, but you didn't give me a chance. Did you? I realize what he does to Paul. I get that. But Logic and I are friends. I have to handle this delicately."

"Yeah, you do that. But there's not going to be a damn thing delicate about the way Paul handles him if he catches him grinning in your face again."

"That's my problem then, Bear, not yours."

  "I'm making it my problem."

"You two need counseling." Jade declared. "It's not that serious. Queen tell Logic to stay out of your face. And Teddy mind your damn business."

"Whatever. Queen is my damn business. You need to stay out of grown folks conversations."

"How am I your business, Bear? When did I become your business? Just tell me."

"When I made you my business. So deal with it."

"I don't know why you're trying to argue with him. Why do you think they call him Bear?" Jade asked.

"Because his name is Teddy I assumed." Queen answered.

"Yeah that and the fact that he is as stubborn as a damn bear."

"Look, Bear the bottom line is that Logic is here. He's not going anywhere until graduation. He's my ex, but he's also a friend. Cut him a break. Cut me a break for that matter. Let me deal with him my own way. I'm not going to shun a friend because I'm dating Paul. So lighten up. Please?"

"Okay, but I'm not the one you have to worry about. Don't say I didn't warn you."

Queen realized that Teddy was right. She was still soft on Logic. Soft or not she was not going to stand by and let either of them attack him. She was all that he had in Atlanta. Logic could handle himself but she didn’t want any of them getting hurt because of her. It just wasn’t worth it.

Somehow she was going to have to find a way to make them all get along. She needed a miracle and the football gods were getting ready to grant her one.

  CHAPTER 12

Queen soon settled into the fact that like it or not Logic was going to remain a part of her life. The problem quickly remained what part. It was obvious to him that Queen had a boyfriend and that she indeed on the surface seemed to be quite happy. But Logic knew Queen. In some ways he knew her better than she knew herself.

Over the past seven years they had become extremely close. In fact, since they were twelve years old they had been inseparable. He knew that she missed his companionship and friendship as much as he needed hers. He realized that it was just a matter of time before her anger subsided and they could at least rekindle their friendship. He didn't have to wait long, because Queen was sick and tired of fighting.

  "Good day Mye Queen."

  "Good day my Prince."

"Oh... So I've been demoted to prince."

Queen laughed, "No... actually you’ve been promoted from Jester."

"I see you still think that you got jokes."

"Oh I still got jokes. It's just that you're no longer one of them." Queen laughed.

"Yeah I know. You've replaced me with two of them."

  "Who are you talking about?"

  "Your boys Paul and Teddy."

"You three still can't get along."

"I don't see it happening as long as you're around. Three dicks sniffing around the same pussy ain’t never going to get along."

  "You mean two dicks.”

“Whatever. Queen. I can see that that nigga Teddy wants you just as much as his boy. So don’t try to play like you don’t know.”

“It doesn’t really matter. Logic, They're good folks. They're just trying to keep me from getting hurt."

"By who? Me? Come on Queen. You know that I'd never do that. I've ran out of ways to say I'm sorry."

"Look, I know. But, they don't know that. I've tried to tell them that beyond everything else you and I are friends."

"I screwed our relationship up big. I let Paul slip in. I can deal with that, but I can't face the fact that we're no longer friends."

"About that... I don't want that to be an issue between us anymore."

  "So, what are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I'm not angry anymore. It happened. I was hurt and betrayed and now I'm over it."

  "So, what about us?"

"Logic, I'm not going to cop out by saying I'm in a relationship. Even though you know that it's true."

"I can see that, but what are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I value and appreciate our friendship... and because we're finally in a place where we can salvage it I don't want to put it in jeopardy again. Right now it's very fragile and I want to be sure that I don't lose it again."

"So, you're parking me in the best friends forever spot?"

"No that's Jade's parking space. Yours is the BMFFE spot."

  "The what?"

"The best male friend forever spot."

"Queen, I'm still in love with you." He confessed.

"Logic, I know that and I still love you too, but it's too many people between us right now. I think we should just be friends."

"I'm not here to win back a friend. Well... actually I am. But I risked everything to follow you here because I want my woman back. Are you saying that, that will never happen?"

"I don’t have a crystal ball and I can't predict the future, but right now I don't see it happening. I mean if I was single, yeah we'd probably still do the physical thing."

"You miss that don't you? Yeah, I can see it all over your face. You miss it. Don’t you?" Logic teased.

  "Don't even start that bullshit."

"Don't start what? I just asked an honest question. Do you?"

"You know the answer to that. Why are you even taking it there?"

"I hope I know the answer."

"What do want me to say? There's no politically correct answer to this question. So I'm going to simply plead the Fifth."

"Okay, I think I know the answer. I miss the hell out of you Queen. You know that don't you? I think about you every time I..."

"Alright, I get it. Let's not make the mistake of over sharing." Queen laughed as she stopped him mid sentence.

"Seriously Logic, there's a lot of beautiful women on this campus that would love to do that for you if you'd just let them."

"I'm sure there are. Let me know when you're one of them." Logic joked.

"Yeah, well... You might want to invest in some more lotion. Cause a sista's got her hands full right now." Queen laughed.

  "Tee- hee- hee. Real funny."

"You like that one don't you."

"No, not really. I get sick just thinking about that nigga touching you. Let alone you touching him."

"All jokes aside. How long has it been?"

"When's the last time we made love?"

"What? Are you serious? Logic, take my
advice, get some."

"How long did you wait for me? Was Paul your first since me?" Logic reluctantly asked.

"Yeah. Actually, if you just got here a day early, there probably wouldn't have been a Paul in my life." Queen conceded.

  "Are you serious?"

"Yeah, we hooked up the night before you came to Atlanta."

"Damn, I guess it wasn't meant for us to..."

"Logic, do you know why I left Maryland?" Queen interrupted before he could finish.

"Not completely. I figured that you left because you didn't want to see me anymore. Actually, I thought you were pregnant. I half expected to find you hiding out here carrying my son. I swear to God, I wished that had been the case."

"I left because I couldn't stand the thought of seeing you on campus with another girl. Especially not Asia. Asia schemed and plotted and connived until she wormed her way into your bed.”

“Asia didn't get her ass in my bed. I fucked her ass on the couch.” Logic grumbled.

“Any way…” Queen continued as she shook the image of Logic screwing Asia out of her head. “As I was saying… Asia wormed her way in your pants. The whole time she tried she made my life on campus hell. You have no clue how many times I wanted to just take the charge for knocking her bitch ass out. But I didn't. But when she came with her baby mama drama I really saw jail time in my future. And honestly I was okay with that. I was willing to take the charge. That's when I knew that I had to get out of Maryland."

"Queen, I'm sorry I should never have fucked with that girl."

Queen quickly cuts him off. "No, let me finish. I know that you're sorry and a lot of it really wasn't your fault. I get all of that. Just let me finish my statement."

  "Okay, go ahead."

"So, now I'm here at FDC in Georgia. A different state, a different campus, even a different man, but the same damn type of drama."

"Yeah, I heard that Jaydan might be pregnant. You seem to be handling it in stride."

"You heard what?" Queen stopped in her tracks.

"Jaydan's suppose to be pregnant. Didn't Paul tell you?"

"No! Who the fuck told you?"

"It's just locker room gossip. You know how that goes."

"Unfucking believable. He hasn't said a word to me about it."

"Not to defend him, but it's not confirmed to even be his. Apparently, the reason they split up was because Jaydan was getting some dick on the side. So, it may not even be his child. He probably don't want to dump it on you until he's sure."
