"Yeah, I am. That's why this is so damn hard for me."
"Alright, I'll give you all the time you need. But I need to talk to you every day. No more avoiding my phone calls and shit. Okay?"
"That won't be a problem." She smiled.
"So, can I get a taste of that bitter honey to hold me over? It's been over two weeks." Paul said as he pulled Queen to him.
"Houston, we now have a big damn problem." Queen joked.
"Why?"
"No Paul. I'm not ready for that. I just got over being angry with you. I know you didn't mean to but you hurt the hell out of me. I need this time."
"Okay, well go out with me then."
"No, that's still a problem for me."
"What's wrong with going out? Come on, let's just go out and have some fun."
"No, because I know we're going to end up in bed."
"What's so bad about that?" He grinned as he kissed her again, this time grabbing her ass to bring her even closer.
"See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. I can't be objective when you're trying to seduce me. Stop, I gotta go."
"You can't fault me for trying. I missed this." He smiled and patted her on her ass.
Queen's mouth and gut said no, but her kitty kat purred yes, yes, yes, hell yes. Every fiber of her body wanted Paul but her heart was too shattered to emotionally connect with him. She knew that it would be a disaster of epic proportion to sleep with him. Not to mention the fact that Teddy and Logic were wearing her ass out.
CHAPTER 29
As Queen prepared to go home to see her parents she was surprised to find out that Logic had made plans to return to Baltimore with her. He decided to surprise her by booking two first class seats on a later flight so that they could travel together. It is an understatement to say that Queen was not very thrilled about this new development.
Naturally, she had mixed feelings about spending time with him over the holidays. She sincerely wanted a well needed break from dick. Not that she didn't love it, but her plate was now overflowing with it. She never really factored in a scenario that ended with her reconciling with Paul. Now that she knew that he didn't cheat on her intentionally, Queen could find no legitimate reason to continue to exclude him from her life or her bed.
This emphatically opened an enormous can of worms and created a whole new set of unforeseen problems. Keeping the three of them a secret from each other would require a miracle. Not to mention the fact that none of them would be willing to just walk away. And Queen knew that if discovered she stood the risk of being ostracized by all three of them. This of course would be catastrophic because she actually loved each one of them and she valued their friendship as much as she did their love.
Queen realized that if she took Paul back, sleeping with Teddy would undoubtedly be out of the question. Teddy and Paul had been friends since grade school and she was not willing to jeopardize their bond. Unfortunately, that still left Logic who has made it quite plain that he was not going anywhere without a war. After all, he was the original jilted lover who surprisingly turned out to be the silver lining in this whole ugly cloud of doom.
"Maybe I'm making too much out of this whole situation. Things have a way of working themselves out with little or no human intervention," Queen tried to convince herself as their plane landed in Baltimore. Although very true, this simply was not one of those situations or one of those things.
The plane ride had been eerily quiet. Logic had been withdrawn since Queen met with Paul. Probably because she remained closed mouth about the subject. Even though they made love that night it was apparent that they both had something on their minds. Queen recognized the need to say something to him about the situation with Paul. The problem was that she didn't know what to say. So, it was just easier to say nothing. That option soon expired.
As they drove off the rental car lot Logic could no longer hold his tongue. "So Mye Queen are we going to discuss the elephant in the room or continue to pretend that it doesn't exist?"
"What elephant?"
"The one who met with her ex yesterday and who has been acting strange every since."
"Are you calling me fat?" Queen laughed.
"No, but that ass has been looking a little plumper than usual." He joked.
"That's because you've been looking at it from a different angle, one that you're not use to. Objects always appear larger the closer you get to them."
"Oh, so you got jokes and shit." Logic laughed. "So how big did it appear to Paul yesterday?"
"Okay, I see playtime is over." Queen sarcastically replied.
"I'm just asking an honest question Queen."
"Logic, I made love to you before I left and I made love to you later that night. Don't even go there."
"Then tell me something. What's going to happen? Don't leave me hanging out here with my heart in my hand and my dick blowing in the wind. What happened?"
"Nothing happened. We had a hot dog then we talked. After that I came back to you."
"Did you believe him?"
"Yeah, I believe Zoey set him up."
"So now what?"
"I don't know. Technically he didn't cheat on me, well at least he didn't mean to cheat on me. But I cheated on him. In fact I lost count of how many times I've cheated on him since that day."
"Queen, it's not cheating. You broke it off with him. You're free to do whatever you want."
"Yeah I know. But do you want to know what the real problem is?"
"Oh I know exactly what the problem is?" Logic grinned as he adjusted his dick in his pants.
"See you're nasty. You do no God gave him one of those too, right?"
"God didn't give him one like this one, or the talent to wield it like only I can."
"Any way... The problem is that history just repeated its self."
"I don't understand. What do you mean?"
"When I found out about you and Asia I did the same thing. I just ran away from the problem instead of hearing you out and deciding whether you were worth the effort."
"And was I?"
Queen nodded. "Yeah actually you were. I'm sorry I didn't take the time to hear what you had to say. Things would be different."
"That's good to know. Okay, continue."
"So, I came to Atlanta, met Paul and got right in bed with him to forget about you. Now when thrust into the same situation, what did I do? I'll tell you. I did the same dumb ass shit. I didn't want to hear a damn thing he had to say. I got in bed with you the first chance that I got, just so that I could get pass him and now...." Queen hesitated.
"Go ahead speak your mind. We're going to have to talk about it eventually"
"Now I've reignited all those feelings that I suppressed for you and I don't feel the same about him as I did before Zoey and her bullshit... For that matter I don't feel the same as I felt about you. I can't go back with him, but I don't know if I can go forward with you."
"Sure you can. Why do you think that?"
"Because you're not going to trust me. Your jaw's been out of joint since I told you that I was meeting him."
"I know, but Queen I came to Atlanta to get you back. I'm not prepared to lose you again. It hurts too damn bad to see you with somebody else. I can't do that again."
"Logic, I'm no longer girlfriend material. I'm different now. I hardly recognize myself anymore. I'm moody, distant, bitchy and as horny as hell most of the time."
"You're just depressed Queen. Don't shut me out. Just be my friend then. Well, with benefits of course."
"Oh of course." Queen sarcastically responded.
"Seriously Queen, just stick it out with me. You can take your time getting yourself back together. I swear I'm not going to pressure you. I just want to be with you."
"Can I be honest with you."
"You know you can talk to me about anything Mye Queen. What's up?"
"I can't choose between the two of you. I know I should be able to. It should be cut and try, but I...."
> "Then don't choose. Not unless you're going to choose me."
"So what am I suppose to do if I don't choose."
"Remain a free agent. Screw who you want when you want. Sooner or later you'll figure out who you really want to be with."
"Yeah, like you'd go for that bullshit."
"I would if I didn't have any other choice. I stood by watching you screw Paul for months and didn't even catch a whiff of my kitty kat. At least I'd be able to take you out and make love to you regularly."
Queen had no response. What could she say? Should she admit that in a perfect world she'd love to date both of them. No, check that... In a really perfect world she'd love to date all three of them. How could she admit that? That would only indicate to Logic that he would never be enough for her. But that was far from the truth. And if she continued to see Logic, then Paul would instantly realize that she never was truly over Logic, which in fact was partially true. And Teddy, well let's not even go there. It would just prove to him that Queen was just like him, which in a lot of ways was very true.
~*~*~
Going home for spring break was exactly what Queen needed to get recharged and refocused on what was actually important. Logic was right. She had been severely depressed and never really realized it. Admittedly she loved dick, but lately things had just become outrageous. Logic actually had the audacity to suggest that she start without him one night. Of course he was kidding, but still his comments ringed true. Normally, Teddy was available to share the burden and to help lighten the load, so to speak. Unfortunately he was in Atlanta.
Queen and Logic went out every day and they spent most nights together too. For all practical purposes they were joined at the hip except when they were joined at the pelvis. They were like a newlywed couple. They craved and ravaged each other daily.
Queen's parents were ecstatic that they were back together. Her dad was already bragging about his soon to be NFL son in law. Queen didn't have the heart to tell them the truth. Partly because she didn't know what the truth actually was. On the surface it was evident that they were a couple. But beneath the surface Queen was struggling with her feelings for two other men who were equally as incredible as Logic.
How could she tell her parents that she was juggling three men, without appearing to be a hoe. Hell she couldn't even tell her best friend Jade. As circumstances would have it she wouldn't have to say a single word to anyone. They would soon find out for themselves.
Queen's web of deceit started to unravel when a bouquet of two dozen red and white roses were delivered to her parent's home. The card simply read, "I miss you and I love you more. Can't wait to see you. Love Paul"
As might be expected that was more than enough to commence the inquisition. Nothing got by Queen's mom. And expensive flowers and a profession of love from another man did not support the theory that Logic and Queen were as happy as they appeared to be.
"Queen can I talk to you?"
"Sure Ma. What's up?"
"Something came for you today and I wanted to ask you about it before Logic came."
"Okay...." Queen responded confused. "What was it?"
"Come with me." Queen's mom said as she lead Queen into the dining room and pointed to the gigantic floral arrangement. "These... Here's the card."
Queen didn't need to read the card to figure out who the flowers were from. Paul had been routinely sending her flowers since the breakup. Queen took the card from her mom's outstretched hand and silently read it. "Okay, so what do you want to know?" Queen nonchalantly asked as she admired the flowers.
"Mye Queen, don't try to play me like a dollar store flute. Who is this man? Are you cheating on Logic with him?"
"It's a long story Ma."
"Girl, you better get on with it. I don't have nothing but time. Now, what the hell is going on?"
"Paul's my boyfriend. I mean my ex-boyfriend."
"Which one is he, Queen?"
"It's confusing. Ma it's a little hard to explain."
"Maybe, but break it down slow, so we both can figure it out. Cause this sounds like some funny bunny bull to me."
"Okay. Paul and I were dating, but we broke up a few weeks ago."
"So what about Logic? Where does he fit in all this?"
"Ma, come on. You know the answer to that."
"Yes I do Queen. But I want to make sure that you know the answer."
"Logic and I are friends. He's been a real good friend through all of this. We're still figuring it out, but right now we're just friends."
"Okay I get it. You are friends. Friends with benefits I suppose?"
"Ma what do you know about friends with benefits?"
"Queen I was born at night, but not last night. You think I don't know what you two are doing when you stay out all night? So answer the question."
"Yeah, there are some benefits involved in our friendship." Queen timidly admitted.
"Does this boy, Paul know about this friendship?"
"Yes, he just doesn't know about the benefits."
"Uh huh, I see... Do you love him?"
"Yes mam." Queen nodded.
"What about Logic?"
"Ma, you know that, I love Logic."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I don't have a clue. Ma, I'm only twenty one years old. I shouldn't be stressed out over men. I don't know what to do."
"Queen, you can't just play with peoples' feelings. If you plan to remain friends with these two men then you need to tell them about each other. It's only fair. Then let them decide whether they want to be a part of your shenanigans."
"Ma it's not my fault. They hurt me first. Now I can't trust either one of them with my heart. They started these shenanigans, not me." Queen responded, becoming emotional. "And just so we're clear. I'm only sleeping with Logic. I haven't slept with Paul since we broke up."
"Come here." Queen mother said as she hugged her. "I didn't mean to upset you. Stop crying. I just wanted you to take a good look at what you're doing. I didn't mean to rub salt in fresh sores. Just be careful baby. You have to know that there are consequences to your actions. Do you understand? Just be up front with them and things will be okay. Alright?"
"Alright. I promise I will. Please don't say anything to dad. He won't understand and I can't take a lecture right now."
"Don't worry about your father. I took the card off when the flowers came. But what about Logic. Is he going to get upset if he sees them?"
"No he's fine with it."
"Good! Because I want to put them in the family room."
Queen felt bad that she couldn't come completely clean with her mother. Adding Teddy into the mix would have just been counterproductive. Two men okay, her mother could take it in stride. But Queen knew that if her mom found out that she had three dicks hanging on like charms on a charm bracelet that her mother would have been very disappointed in her. Some information should be strictly on a need to know basis and in this instance Queen was convinced that her mother didn't need to know this bullshit. Little did Queen know that fate begged to differ.
CHAPTER 30
Easter weekend was suppose to be drama free and serene. Like everything else lately in Queen's life that was not in her cards. Against her better judgment, Queen had agreed to spend time with Logic at his parent's home. Like Queen's dad, Logic's mom was already making wedding plans and shopping for grandchildren. Logic was proud to let her know that they were back together and going strong, even though it was only half true. Queen realized that this was important to him, which made it important to her, so she agreed to play along.
Unfortunately she didn't have a clue that she was about to walk straight into an ambush. Logic had been extremely lovey dovey and overly affectionate every since they arrived in Baltimore. Queen enjoyed the extra attention so she really didn't mind. Of course this made it impossible for her to think about anybody but him. But that was actually okay too, because Queen had absolutely no clue what she wanted to do about Paul. The less
she thought about it the better.
Logic's dad owned a modest jewelry store in the Baltimore suburbs. Logic had spent several days over the break helping him out at the store. So, Queen didn't find it odd that they were still at the jewelry store when she arrived. What she did find odd was that Logic's parents had invited her parents over for dinner. About a half hour after she arrived her parents showed up.
"What are you two doing here? Is everything okay?" Queen asked as she greeted them.
"Everything is fine. Why do you ask?" Her dad casually responded.
"You do realize that the Harts are old friends of ours, don't you?" Her mom added. "Help me take this food into the kitchen."
Queen let it go as she watched her mom and Logic's mom catch up on old times. She had in fact forgotten that their families were close until the breakup. Why shouldn't they reconnect now that her and Logic had made up?
Moments later, Logic came in and rescued her from the kitchen. "Thank God," she thought as he drug her off to his room. They hardly made it into the room before they were all over each other.
"Don't even start." Queen warned as Logic begin to disrobe.
"What? I know you're not turning down some vitamin D." He laughed as he pulled his undershirt over his head and tossed it on the floor.
"Logic, I'm serious. Stop. My parents are downstairs."
"So what? So are mine."
"My mom will kill me if she finds out I'm up here screwing around with you." Queen said as she fought to keep her shirt on.
"Actually there's not a lot of screwing going on. What's up?"
"Did you know that your parents had invited my parents over?"
"Yeah. I didn't tell you because they wanted it to be a surprise." Logic said as he finally got her top over her head.
"Don't you think that it's weird?"
"They're friends. What's weird about it?"
"I guess you're right."
"Now, if I can just get you to cooperate we just may get some we time in before they miss us."
"What's got into you?"
"I'm in love with a beautiful, intelligent, sexy, voluptuous woman. My dick gets hard every time I see her. Nothings got into me. So take off those clothes and give me some of that nook - nook." Logic begged as he kissed Queen hard and massaged her rump.
