Sylvie knew he hadn’t agreed to anything and got the impression he didn’t want to go with them. Her heart slumped a little, as she wanted him to be with them but knew he had James to think of.
And the French slut wife.
Just as she was about to ask him if she should be booking for two adults, his mobile rang.
‘Finlay Chambers speaking,’ he said, still frowning at his screen and using the tab continuously. ‘Oh hello.’
Immediately he got up, quickly glanced at Sylvie, then proceeded to walk out of the office.
‘I’m pleased you rang,’ he said, before closing the door as she was left sitting in the office alone, not in the mood to work and desperate to kick start her life again.
Then she noticed an email.
It was asking her to attend a meeting on Friday.
She felt like she was going to throw up and wanted to cry at the same time. Gulping hard, she knew in a matter of moments tears were going to start as she angrily rubbed them away so no one would notice. Twisting her foot in her sandal, she wanted to sob really hard and felt instantly scared at what she was intending to do.
Getting to her feet, she walked out of the office and ran down the mezzanine, out into the sunshine and took a deep breath.
‘Sylvie?’ she heard and froze to the spot. ‘Sylvie?’
At the worst possible moment, she saw her mother standing directly in front of her, her hair wet and looking confused.
‘What are you doing here?’ Sylvie asked, knowing her mother would have seen her come out of the building.
‘What are you doing here?’ her mother asked as she glanced at the ‘Good Vibration’ sign. ‘I didn’t know they made underwear. I thought they made adult things. Doris said it’s pornography. You work there?’
There was no doubting her mother’s look of horror as Sylvie couldn’t speak for a moment.
Then it dawned on her she had nothing to lose.
‘This is where I work. It distributes adult toys which we post to customers who want to purchase discreetly. I’ve worked there for three and a half years,’ she said, watching her mother’s mouth drop open as she was momentarily confused. ‘It is not a place where we film porn. It’s a place where we post pleasure. Oh, that’s quite good. I’ll remember that ‘post pleasure.’ Then she shrugged. ‘Ah well, maybe another time.’
Still her mother stood there with a frown.
‘I had to find a job. It was that or cleaning and you know I hate cleaning,’ she said feeling a wave of disappointment. ‘Daisy doesn’t know, obviously, and I never told you because… well… you’d just disapprove.’
‘It’s a job. You need to support your daughter after that woman treated you like filth when all you did was look after her son, put a roof over his head,’ her mother barked as Sylvie stepped back. ‘Can I take a look inside?’
‘Seriously?’ she said, realising that she would also meet Finlay. ‘We’re really busy and…’ Then she looked down at her feet, seeing her painted toes nails and the way her sandals covered her last two toes on her right foot. ‘I need to warn you though… some of the women are a little odd.’
Grabbing her mother’s arm, she dragged her to the door and pushed it open.
‘Don’t be shocked,’ she said, gently seeing her mother looked scared. ‘They don’t bite.’
‘What do you do here?’
‘Oh I do the HR and all that,’ she said, not wanting to say too much, should the woman keel over in shock at what the stock consisted of. ‘That bit is very true and we do sell underwear but not the sort you get from Marks and Spencer.’
Watching her mother’s face, Sylvie couldn’t help but smile.
When you looked at the place as an outsider, it was colourful and full of laughter and life.
Then she saw Finlay standing at the top of the stairs, looking down with the phone attached to his ear.
‘The thing is that this place might be closing down soon so I’ll have to get another job,’ she said quietly, noticing Samina and Rosalind were looking at them then whispering. ‘Let me introduce you to the people then I’ll have to carry on working. And if you look up there…’ Sylvie took a deep breath and pointed towards Finlay. ‘…that man is my boyfriend.’
‘Oh I know,’ her mother grinned. ‘Daisy tell me everythin’! What a wonderful granddaughter I have! And the best thing is…’ She started to laugh. ‘You got me all those good bras from Marks and Spencer!
‘That’s great,’ said Finlay, smiling down at Sylvie and her mother. ‘Andy, I really appreciate this. She’s given up but seems fine with it.’
‘It might take another week but there are enough interested parties, it’s just about convincing your mother to sell at a reasonable price. Have you seen what she wants for it?’ Andy laughed. ‘It’s as if she doesn’t want anyone to buy it which isn’t fair.’
‘I’ll speak to her and we’ll see. Hopefully, if something comes through then I can help with it all but until then, time’s ticking away and these guys need to know what’s going on. I’ll keep you informed.’
‘Thanks.’
As Finlay walked back into the office he went around her desk and glanced at her screen, knowing every time he’d done so that morning she was looking at holidays.
Then he stopped when he saw the email.
It was from his mother.
‘I will see you on Friday at 11.00am. Everything is in place.’
There were footsteps running up the stairs as he quickly walked to his desk and sat down. Sylvie looked flushed as she opened the door.
‘Well what a start to the week! My mum was trying out an elderly aqua aerobics class next door and I just happened to bump into her. Now she knows what I do for a living which will no doubt bring some joy to her friends. Samina and Rosalind are trying to show her some toys she can use. My poor mummy looks like she’s going to faint but on the other hand, I noticed Matthew giving her the eye and so did Samina. Love rivals I think?’ She let out a loud laugh as he stared at her for a moment. ‘I told her about you but Daisy had already blabbed. I’ll arrange something so you can formally meet, that’s if you want to?’
‘I’d love to,’ he replied but knew he couldn’t hide his concern at what Sylvie might be up to.
It was obvious she was going to strike a deal with his mother and didn’t want to say.
‘I’d love to go on holiday with you,’ he said, seeing her look of surprise. ‘When are you thinking of going?’
‘Would you really?’ she said and walked up to him.
Finlay eyed her up and down, wanting to make love to her there and then but knowing her hand had been forced.
‘I was planning to be away for the last week of August, over bank holiday weekend and coming back around the 3rd September. That would give Daisy enough time to get her head around going into year 5,’ Sylvie replied and he could see the look of delight as he stood up. ‘I would really love for you to come and tell me where we should go. I’m pretty useless with these things and-.’
Finlay had grabbed her face, planting a long and tender kiss on her lips, as she looked into his eyes. He glanced at Gillian and Elizbieta, who were laughing at them, before looking back into his woman’s eyes which were now closed.
‘Your mother want my man!’ Samina shouted, storming into the office. ‘Finlay, stop trying to stimulate Sylvie so she choke and die.’
‘Suffocate,’ he said, pulling away as Sylvie smiled at him. ‘I’ll stimulate her later.’
‘That’s nice,’ she sighed, before turning to look at Samina who was standing next to them.
‘We group hug?’ the woman said mischievously as Sylvie gently pushed her away.
‘You’ll only grope his arse then accuse me of doing that to you,’ laughed Sylvie. ‘Don’t you think I don’t know about your plans to take out a grievance against the company so you can secure money for the team?’
‘You say I plot and do wrong?’ Samina replied, looking shocked. ‘I do it for
us all so we not starve when this place close!’
‘You’ll not starve,’ said Sylvie as she walked towards the door and stood on the balcony overlooking the warehouse.
He followed her and stood by her side, seeing she was staring out as Samina walked to look at the place. Then the older woman glanced at Finlay before trying to make him glance at Sylvie.
There were tears in Sylvie’s eyes and Samina looked sympathetically at the younger woman before frowning.
‘Since that giant came, you been in funny mood,’ Samina gently said as Sylvie’s head turned sharply towards her. ‘Not give me your evil look! I state fact!’
‘What giant?’ Finlay asked.
‘A few week ago-.’
‘Finlay!’ shouted out Stephen running into the building. ‘I need to speak to you urgently.’
‘He got rabies? That why he look like wild man!’ exclaimed Samina. ‘Or he use anal butt plug and it get stuck.’
‘What giant?’ asked Finlay again as Sylvie turned and scowled at him before grabbing Samina’s arm.
‘You sexual harassment! See I have witness! I sue!’ the woman shouted as Sylvie dragged her into the edit suit. ‘And now you tie me up and let him Toby put winky in my ear, as I know he has little one!’
‘Shut up!’ Sylvie snapped but before Finlay could find out more, Stephen had run up the stairs, out of breath.
‘I found him!’ he said, trying to control his breathing as Finlay did a double take, then heard shouting from where the women had disappeared to. ‘And I think I’ve found the money!’
Sixty Five
‘Don’t stop, that’s amazing,’ Sylvie gasped as Finlay concentrated on her double whammy.
His mouth covered her nub as he nibbled and licked then he’d pull away and put his cock inside, moving slowly as he rubbed her clit. Sylvie was holding onto the top of the bed, knees bent high trying to hold off her orgasm.
Again and again he did it, going slower than fast. She could see his red cheeks as he bent down squeezing and sucking her breasts.
‘Next time, I’m going to handcuff you,’ he groaned as he put in a few long hard thrusts before going down between her legs.
His tongue and lips were doing the work as he slowly inserted a finger, rubbing her gently inside. Her hole squeezed it tightly as her thighs became taut and the orgasm ripped through her, making her hips buckle as Finlay removed his mouth, carried on rubbing her off as she shook before shoving his hard dick inside and started to fuck her really fast.
There was no breath left in her body as she gulped hard and he put her feet on his shoulders, making a point of kissing her right foot and carried on to hump her until he came, letting out a very loud groan and grunt, before shutting his eyes.
‘Oh god and this is just because you’re going away for a night,’ she moaned as he flopped on top of her, wiping his wet lips against her breasts and lay there, pinning her to the bed. ‘Why are you going again?’
‘Business,’ he mumbled into her skin. ‘I’m coming back first thing Friday morning.’
Sylvie smiled then remembered what was happening on Friday before closing her eyes, pushing it out of her head once more and dreading the moment.
‘Come and have a bath with me,’ Finlay mumbled as she sighed. ‘You’ve never had a bath in my home before.’
‘You must love coming back here. At least the drain’s not blocked up as it is in our bath. I think that’s my fault for pouring the remnants of paint remover down there. Think the paint congealed or something. I’ll get a plumber one day to sort it,’ she smiled, before stroking his very soft hair. ‘What time are you going to see James?’
‘After you go, I’ll pop round.’
He shuffled up and placed his head on the pillow next to her. She could smell her juices on his face and smiled.
‘You know I love you very much,’ he said gently and it made her feel warm inside as she moved closer. ‘Can you tell me what’s going on with ‘Good Vibration’? I know there’s something you’re not telling me and I’d like to know.’
Her heart sunk for a moment and she didn’t want to show him how upset she was for a moment.
‘Don’t hide things from me, I hate that,’ he said and Sylvie shut her eyes before opening them again slowly.
‘We’ll talk in the bath.’
Finlay was lying against her as she wrapped her arms around him and looked at his beautiful feet balancing at the end of the bath. After she had stopped laughing about the amount of bubble bath he’d put in, and the Jacuzzi whirlpool’s contribution to the bath over flowing with bubbles, they lay there in peace and quiet.
‘I can’t do it Fin. I don’t have a business head and I’m not sure if I want to carry on with it,’ she lied, knowing if he saw her face he’d know. ‘It seems such a gamble for anyone to take me on when they’re soon going to find out I’m a fraud… what did you say about me? Full of subterfuge or something similar?’
He was sitting perfectly still.
‘Is that why you’re going to see my mother on Friday?’
Sylvie froze for a moment after Alice reassured her she wouldn’t say a thing.
‘How do you know?’ she asked sweetly, kissing the side of his face.
‘I saw the email when I walked past your desk,’ he quietly replied. ‘Are you giving her the first option?’
‘I’m seeing what she’s willing to offer me.’
‘Who else are you speaking to?’
‘A few of our larger competitors have feigned an interest. I’ll give your mother their details on Friday if your lot want to break a deal. Is that the expression?’
Finlay suddenly sat up as she watched the bubbles and water splash over the side. He then turned his head to look at her.
‘I’m not going to upset your mother,’ Sylvie said earnestly. ‘I’m sure she’ll listen to what I have to say. I have figures and all that stuff. Actually, I transferred the information I had about the purchase of the larger percentage and just copied and pasted it, using our logo then changed the figures to represent my percentage. It looks quite good. She might show you it, if she hasn’t done so already.’
He stood up, turned around and sat down so he could face her.
There was no hint of a smile.
‘I don’t have your business head and I can’t do it alone.’ She knew that bit was the truth. ‘I need support and guidance. What if I don’t like the major percentage shareholder, what if they don’t like me? What if I’m forced out and, the worse scenario is, what if they don’t help run the company properly and everything then becomes worthless? Finlay, I don’t know how to protect myself let alone the others if that were to happen.’
He put his hands over his face and sat there for a few moments as she knew her face was getting redder by the second and she wondered if he’d realise she wasn’t telling him everything. She reached out and removed his hands as he looked at the water then up at her.
‘Don’t sign anything. I should have helped you more. I should have done something so you weren’t put in this situation. It’s my fault all of this,’ he said quietly as she stroked his face. ‘And it’s Juliette’s.’
Biting her lip hard she had to say something.
‘I love you better than she does,’ Sylvie said in all seriousness as he narrowed his eyes for a moment. ‘That’s how I feel and it will get sorted. Everything will be fine.’
Moving forward she pulled his head towards hers and kissed him gently on the lips before whispering,
‘You deserve better Finlay Chambers, you really do.’
‘She’s not told me a thing,’ replied Piers as Finlay popped round after spending an hour with his son. ‘Sylvie says it’s all under control and I don’t know what she means as I had no idea she would consider selling her shares. It’s the last thing in the world she’d ever do.’
‘I know,’ replied Finlay, disturbed by the news. ‘I really don’t understand why she’s changed her mind in a few weeks.’
&
nbsp; He heard the door open.
‘I’m home!’ his mother shouted as he immediately thought she’d done something to upset Sylvie.
‘Don’t fight,’ Piers hissed then the door was opened again.
‘Mumsy I’ve got a headache,’ they heard Toby groan from the corridor as Piers rolled his eyes in dismay while Finlay stood up.
‘We have a guest,’ announced Piers as Finlay watched his mother walk in and smile before giving him a big hug.
‘Are you staying for dinner?’ she asked brightly, before he noticed Toby sloping in and raising his hand quickly in the air to say ‘hello’ then throwing himself onto the sofa. ‘What’s wrong with you?’
‘I’m depressed,’ her son replied, half his face turned into the cushion. ‘No woman, no job and no money.’
‘I see,’ his mother sighed and Finlay noticed she glanced at him briefly before stepping forward and stroking her younger son’s head. ‘That’s not entirely true.’
‘You have taken my future away,’ he said, turning on his back and looking directly at his mother. Finlay wanted to laugh as he used to do that when he was a little kid. ‘I am left with nothing and he...’ Toby said, pointing a finger at Finlay. ‘… has stolen the woman I love. What a family I have! Full of treachery and deceit.’
‘Fancy a beer Toby?’ his father asked, getting up.
‘Yes please daddio,’ smiled Toby before returning to his scowl. ‘All I ask of you is not to sell your shares of the company so I can work there for a little longer. We’re doing so well.’
‘Toby,’ his mother sighed, before shoving his legs off and sitting down. ‘It’s more complicated than that.’
‘Why?’ Finlay asked, stepping closer.
‘Didn’t you want to shut it down not so long ago?’ she asked as Toby just glared for a few moments.
‘It’s making profit and we could keep it going,’ he said and watched his mother frown. ‘This hasn’t got anything to do with Sylvie, just in case you think it has.’
‘See, even Finlay wants us to stay open,’ Toby said, sitting straight up. ‘And he knows what he’s talking about.’
