“David,” Abby groaned “Please, I can’t think when you do that.”

“You don’t have to think.” He whispered. He spun her around to face him and his mouth took hers with his. Abby gave in with a sigh as she returned the kiss, drinking him in; her hands holding on to his shoulders. It was the sound of someone clearing their throat that pulled them apart. Abby made to jump up but David held her in place. It was Mark Winters, one of the men she had been introduced to. There was a slightly amused expression on his handsome face as he came into the room. “Sorry to interrupt but I need to get the go ahead on this project,” he handed David a bulky document.

“Baby Mark is our financial controller and he handles all the money. Keeps me on a pretty tight leash.” David told her as he took the document and skimmed through.

“I am sure you know that’s not true Mrs. Wade,” the man said dryly. “Your husband has a mind of his own and nothing gets past him.” He took back the document and said with a smile. “Welcome to the family of Wade Enterprises.” He added before going back out.

“Ready to leave?” David asked her softly. “Or do you want the grand tour?”

Abby nodded. She had no idea he was this influential; this man that she had thought of as a spoiled rich kid. Although his offices were larger by far, the other offices were no less opulent. Caroline’s office was gracefully decorated in muted colors and was large enough to hold a desk, a small red couch, a coffee maker, a large flat screen television and several chairs. There was also a large modern staff kitchen, complete with a chef and a dining room for staff to have their meal. She was told by one of his staff that he provided complete health care, free meals and there was also a day care center. The place was magnificent and spoke of the kind of employer he was to his staff.

“I want to make a proposal to you,” he said as they made their way down to the car. He held her hands, refusing to let go even when he had to fish into his pockets for the keys.

“What’s that?” she asked as he settled in beside her in the car.

“I handle a lot of charities all over the world and I was looking for someone to take them over for me. It’s a full time job and there is a staff complement of three people. I want you to take it over.” He started the engine and turned to look at her.

“Are you serious?” she asked him.

“Very,” he told her with a smile. “Ideally, I would like my wife to stay home and we travel the world but I know you won’t go for that so, what do you say?” he stared at her anxiously.

“I would love to!” she told him happily.

  Chapter 10

The apartment was utilitarian and looked like he had hardly been there. It was on the top floor and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.

“This is the most attractive part of the apartment,” she told him leaning against the rail and breathing in the fresh air. It was just approaching dusk and the night was getting colder as it was approaching September.

“We don’t have to live here,” he stood behind her and pulled her against him. “I spent more time at the office than I did here. There was no one to come home to.”

She leaned back against him. “I want a house with a garden and a porch swing and neighbors.” She told him softly.

“So I guess we will be house hunting or I could get my real estate agent to do the search for us.” He told her without missing a beat.

“You’re not going to protest leaving this place?” she turned in his arms and looked up at him. “You have lived here for so long. You don’t mind leaving?”

“It’s just a place Abby. Wherever you are with me it’s a home.” He told her seriously. “This is a good investment and if I decide to sell it; we will make a ton of money on it. I go where you go.”

She looped her arms around his neck and gazed up at him; her feelings evident. “I wonder to myself sometimes if this is real. What have I done to deserve a love like this? A man like you? And I wonder if this is just a phase. Am I going to wake up one morning and discover that you are gone; you were just a figment of my imagination? You have given me so much David and I wonder apart from the love I have in me that seems to expand with each day, what else do I have to give you, who has given me so much?”

David was studying her as she was talking. He took in the beauty of her expression; the way her face highlighted every single mood; the changing color of her eyes that ranged from golden to tawny brown depending on the light or what she was feeling. Her heart shaped face and her skin that looked as if the sun had kissed it tenderly; her lips full and rosy without the need for enhancement and her pert little nose. He had been with women who were far more beautiful physically but he had never met one whose beauty shone from within. Her beauty was classic and even with age, he knew she would remain beautiful and just looking at her or even thinking about her brought him to his knees.

“You have given me something that no amount of money could ever buy. You have given me a love that is a life form in itself Abby and don’t you ever forget that. I don’t care about material possession; I acquire wealth because I came upon it and I like what it can give me. I was not happy before; because no matter what people say; money or possessions do not bring you happiness. I would rather be penniless with you than to have all I have now and not have you. Make no mistake; it has to be you. It stops with you; no one else; I love you Abigail Wade and that will never change no matter what.”

Abby could not speak. She did not know what to say and even if she did, she was too choked up to talk. He had done it again. He had taken her breath away. “David,” her hands trembled as they framed his handsome face. She was crying but she did not care. With this man she was not afraid to be naked before him. “I can’t- I don’t know how to tell you how I feel.” The tears slipped down her cheeks and he used his thumb to wipe them away, his heart beating loud in his chest. “I don’t know how to so I want to show you.” She whispered. She stepped away from the circle of his arms and with a sudden movement she pulled her dress over her head; leaving only her black lacy underwear. Reaching up she pulled the pins from her heavy curls and they tumbled down on her shoulders in a dark wave. Her nipples were hard and David reached out to touch but she would not let him.

“Let me please,” she murmured. She pulled off his shirt and threw it on the carpeted floor and reached for the hook on his jeans pulling it down. David stood still not knowing what to expect but he was letting her have her way. He stepped out of the jeans and his fists clenched as she knelt in front of him, reaching inside to hold on to his erection and taking it out. She ran a finger down the length of it and David’s breath caught inside his throat. She bent her head and touched her tongue to the tip of his penis. David groaned; his body shaking. Abby put him inside her mouth and used her tongue to slide over him. David body jerked spasmodically as her innocent mouth sent him into spasms of unbelievable ecstasy.

“Abby,” he muttered huskily; digging his fingers in her thick curls. “I can’t,” his voice was hoarse as she continued relentlessly, her mouth moving up and down the length of his erection. He was fighting hard to stop himself from coming inside her mouth but she was making it difficult for him. “Abby,” he called out her name; his body pliant with need and desire. “I can’t hold out.” His hands gripped the back of her head and he moved his hips as the storm washed over him. He pulled her up blindly as he felt it erupting through him. Bracing her against the wall he plunged into her making it just in time, with a hoarse cry he spilled his seed inside her; his hands gripping her hips as he moved inside her rapidly, his control gone. He was undone and without shame or reservation he felt the tears on his cheek as she kissed them away gently. He slowed down, mindful of not hurting her as he spent himself. She had wrung every last ounce of pleasure from him and he was still shaken by the magnitude of it.

He swung her up and took her to the massive king sized bed and laid her down gently on the bed, leaning over her. “You take my breath away,” he told her huskily, p
ushing back the wisps of hair that clung to her cheeks. “I can’t breathe when you are with me. You make me feel vulnerable and I don’t care. I have never met anyone like you.” He slid his hand down her body and between her legs. She opened up to him; waiting for what he was about to do to her. His fingers entered her; feeling the softness there and the warmth. “I love you so much,” he whispered; his fingers moving inside her, exploring; reaching further in and sliding out slowly. He repeated the movement; his eyes never leaving her face; wanting to see her reaction; needing to see it. He increased the speed and he saw her expression change to one of intense desire. He loved that he was able to do that to her because sometimes the feeling of inadequacy invade him especially when she took him inside her mouth. He had been stripped in front of her; naked and exposed to this woman who humbled him and made him want to do better, be better. He brought her up and over and with a quick movement he slid down; replacing his fingers with his mouth, taking her mound between his teeth and pulling it gently in; using his tongue to lick and savor. She was sobbing; her hands gripping his dark hair tightly almost pulling it from the root as he slid his tongue inside her bringing her to a crashing crescendo.

She screamed out his name; her body lifting and shivering with the emotion coursing through her. Before she was finished he stopped, coming over her and entering her still shaking body. He took her lips with his; capturing her whimpers as he moved inside her, slowly at first and then rapidly as she gripped his waist with her legs. They came together; in accord, clinging to each other as they rode the wave that took them over and above what they had ever experienced before.

“I can’t believe how hungry I am,” Abby said biting into the pizza. This was her fourth slice and she had already eaten two cinnamon bread sticks and drank half a glass of red wine.

David had ordered pizza, saying that they were still on their honeymoon and there would be no cooking; besides he was not a very good cook as evidenced in the kitchen which looked stark and modern and unused. Abby had told him quite primly that she happened to be a very good cook.

“Sex will do that to you,” he told her with a grin. They were dining at the large glass topped table and she had dragged on a robe over her nakedness while he had put on a cargo shorts; leaving his upper body bare. It was already night and although he had originally planned to take her out to dinner they had decided to stay in.

She threw a piece of crust at him and he fielded it expertly. “How about us going shopping tomorrow?” he asked her casually.

  “For what?” she asked puzzled.

  “For whatever you need.”

“Do I need anything?” Abby pushed aside the half eaten pizza totally full.

“What about clothes, shoes, jewelry etc.” He leaned back in the chair and picked up his wine glass; swirling the liquid inside it. She had not been back to the church cottage that she had called home and there were still her things there and she realized that she had to clear out her things in case Pastor David wanted to put someone there.

“I have clothes and shoes, maybe not jewelry of such but I really don’t need anything much.” Abby told him innocently.

He sighed and leaned forward to look at her. “Darling, remember we had the discussion of my wealth?” She nodded. “You are going to be required to attend business dinners with me and even though I prefer to see you naked; I am afraid you will have to dress the part of a businessman who has achieved quite a bit of success in the financial world. And I am not going anywhere without you.”

“Okay we can go shopping tomorrow.” She said with a careless shrug.

“Okay,” he stared at her askance. “No arguments about money and how you will not be paraded around like a mannequin?”

“I am your wife and I have to present myself a certain way and I happen to love you so shopping it is.”

He leaned forward and kissed her deeply on the lips. “You’re one in a million,” he told her.

“Please remember that when I do start complaining,” she told him teasingly, glad to see that she had made him so happy.

“I will.” He said with a grin.

They lay in each other’s arms naked and she told him about her childhood. “I think he really did love her David and maybe in her own way she loved him too but it was just so messed up. I really think he still loves her even now.” She was talking about her parents.

Her head was resting on his shoulder and he was fiddling with her hair. “I grew up seeing my parents very happy,” he said in sympathy. “So I don’t know what it means to be a part of an unhappy childhood. I used to think it was gross that they were still kissing and holding hands even when I was a teenager and when I grew up and started dating I searched for what they had and could never find it. I thought they had gotten the last of it.” He said with a grin. “Now I know better,” he kissed her forehead gently.

“Oh David, I really feel sorry for anyone who does not have what we have and I thank God the day your father insisted on sending you on the trip with me.” She kissed the hair on his chest gratefully.

“Me too baby,” he whispered, pulling her on top of him. “Now no more talking.” He ordered as he put his semi-erect penis inside her; his lips claiming hers in a deep drugging kiss.

He took her shopping the next day and Abby’s head whirled with the different stores and the prices. There were small exclusive boutiques that made you sit and fed you champagne or your choice of drink and tiny cucumber sandwiches while impossibly thin models parade clothes after clothes for you to choose. The owners knew David and smiled as he took out his platinum card. He had added her name to all his accounts and she had her own cards which she doubted she would ever get a chance to use. She was confused and asked him to choose for her and he did with an expertise that spoke of years of buying women clothing but Abby refused to let it bother her. She was his wife and he loved her completely and what he had done in the past was not something she was going to be foolish enough to worry about.

Then there were several pieces of jewelry that he insisted that she needed and she had stopped looking at the prices; it was only going to drive her crazy.

They had a late lunch at a small exclusive restaurant that served caviar and expensive wines but David told the maitre‘d whom he was well acquainted with that his wife needed a big juicy burger and so did he.

Abby tried not to stare at the number of famous faces she was seeing but she could not help it.

“You’ll get used to it,” David told her with an indulgent smile. The place was filled with beautiful women who were dressed to kill but he only had eyes for the woman he married who had chosen to wear a simple wool dress and ankle length boots. They could not hold a candle to her.

“I doubt it,” she told him dryly, breaking off a piece of the juicy burger; her eyes widening as the taste titillate her taste bud. “Oh my goodness! This is the most delicious burger I have ever eaten.”

“I will be sure to tell that to Pierre,” her husband said with a smile. “Or you can tell him yourself, here he comes.”

Pierre the chef and owner was a thin sallow faced French man with raven black hair and intense dark eyes. “Monsieur David and Madam,” he bowed gracefully. “I understand congratulations are in order. Such beauty,” he took her hand and gave it a chaste kiss.

“Thank you,” Abby said fascinated by his charm. “I was just telling David that this is the best burger I have ever tasted.”

“Of course,” he nodded in agreement; not in the least bit modest. “I will package a few and send it right out along with our best bottle of champagne.”

  “Thanks Pierre,” David told him.

  He bowed and left swiftly.

“Such a charming man and so kind.” Abby murmured, digging into her burger.

“Pierre is anything but kind,” David said dryly. “He crushed his competitors without the slightest thought but he’s quite a businessman.”

  “Don’t tell me,
you have stocks in his restaurant don’t you?” she said shrewdly.

“Restaurants,” he corrected. “And I might have helped him out a little and in return I get to own a small piece.”

“Exactly how many businessmen you have ‘helped’ out?” she used her fingers to do an air quote.

“A few,” he grinned at her, leaning over to kiss her lips that were moist with the juice from the burger.

“I see,” she said slowly. “I really don’t have a clue as to how wealthy you are do I?”

“You will,” he grinned. “Now eat up baby, I promised Mom and Dad that we would stop by for a visit.”

He had made arrangements for the numerous packages to be delivered to the apartment and then he drove them to the church. She was planning on sorting out her stuff and giving away what she had no need for and took what little she could. She was beginning to realize that she was married to an extremely rich man and the things she had would certainly not fit her future lifestyle no matter how she tried to spin it.

Pastor David and Missionary Elaine were both in his office waiting to see them. The woman immediately came forward to hug her tightly. “My dear you look positively radiant. I hope my son has been treating you well,”

“Hello to you too mother,” David said dryly as she turned to look at him.

“Hi darling,” she reached up and kissed him gently on the mouth; her eyes loving.

“My dear,” Pastor David hugged her fondly. “How are you?”

“Great,” she said her eyes glowing. David had pulled her back to his side and taken her hand in his. His parents noticed the movement and exchanged fond glances.

“So what have you two been up to?” Missionary Elaine asked them as the four of them sat down.

“David took me shopping,” Abby glanced at her husband with a smile. “He practically bought the entire store.”

“That’s not true,” he said mildly. “I left some for our next trip.”
