She Walks in Power Page 29

by Tyndall, MaryLu

  “Four.” Alexia interjected vehemently.

Jarin’s brow crinkled. “Women cannot be knights.”

“This woman can and will.” She grabbed her bow from the table.

“She has earned it.” Ronar smiled her way, drawing his sword and leveling it before him. “Besides, I’ve learned that arguing with her is not worth the trouble.”

Alexia gave a satisfied smirk and held out her bow.

“Very well.” Drawing his blade, Jarin nodded toward Damien, who reluctantly drew his sword to join the others.

“Hear, hear for the four Knights of the Eternal Realm!” he shouted, and all three blades and one bow clanked together.

  The friar cheered. “Huzzah!”

“And as our first act of justice,” Ronar said. “We shall defeat LeGode and return castle Luxley to Lady Cristiana D’Clere.”

Alexia smiled. “With God on our side, who can be against us?”

  Author’s Note

After reading this book, it may appear to some that I have a problem with the Catholic Church. In truth, I take issue with most organized religion, Protestant or Catholic. Religion is man made and because of that, it often falls short of God’s idea of what church should be. That’s not to say church is bad and we shouldn’t attend, but only that we should check everything we hear, see, and learn against the infallible Word of God. Whenever I see something that either contradicts that Word or ignores parts of that Word, I feel obliged to speak out. For the best example of how church should be, I refer you to the Book of Acts in the Bible. May we all long to return to that simple way of doing and being the church that God intended. God Bless you all!

If you enjoyed this book, one of the nicest ways to say “thank you” to an author and enable them to continue writing is to leave a favorable review on Amazon or Barnes and Noble (And elsewhere, too!) I would appreciate it if you would take a moment to do so. Thanks so much!
