A Billionaire's Roar (Charmed in Vegas Book 4) Page 9

“They’ll be fine.” She snatched them out of his hand and an adorable blush warmed her cheeks.

With a bit of ducking and twisting, Elise managed to dress in a cute top, shorts, and sandals. Even the stretchy bra seemed to fit perfectly.

  “I’m ready,” she said.

Nikolai wished them farewell and they both headed up to Max’s suite. “Are you afraid of heights?” he asked.

  “Why?”

“Are you? I have a surprise for you.”

“As long as I can hold onto something, I’m good.”

“Fantastic. I thought I’d take you on a little trip in my helicopter.”

  Her eyes widened. “For real?”

“For real,” he replied. Seeing her eyes light up made everything he’d gone through worthwhile.

  * * *

By the time they arrived at their destination, it must have been close to eleven at night, though Elise couldn’t find a clock in the chopper. She had to admit she had been frightened at first riding in the big bird for the first time, but after she noted how competent Max was as a pilot, she relaxed and began to enjoy the view below.

Now fairly calm, she took a moment to reflect back over the last few days. The whole concept of shifting still made her leery, partially because she had no idea how it would affect her body when she transformed from a human to a tiger and back again. Would she be able to control when she shifted? And how could she live in this society and hide what she’d become?

One plus was that Max wasn’t creepy or crazy after all. Admittedly, he had gone a little overboard with the whole hypnosis thing, but if he had tried to pick her up that first day at the hotel, she might have shot him down, believing he had an ulterior motive.

Right now, she felt like Alice in Wonderland where everything was new and exciting, yet frightening at the same time. Never again would she say she led a boring life.

She froze. Max hadn’t said anything about her moving to Las Vegas or what would happen next. When she glanced over at him, he was busy flicking switches and focusing on landing.

No, Max and she belonged together. He’d said they were mates.

Once he landed, it took a moment for her ears to adjust to the quiet. “Now, will you tell me why you brought me here?” she asked.

“I wanted you to experience the wonder of your tiger half. I know it’s been terrifying so far, but trust me, there is nothing more exhilarating than being able to run free.” He exited his seat, came over to her side, and helped her down.

“Where are we, by the way?” They’d flown for close to two hours, and since she was directionally challenged, they could be in Alaska for all she knew.

“We’re in Flagstaff, Arizona where the hills actually have trees. You don’t have to worry about anyone interrupting us. I own this land.”

“Wow.” The man was full of surprises.

Max grabbed her hand and led her into the woods. “I know it’s a little chilly here at night, but if we don’t take off our clothes before we shift, you’ll be naked on the ride home.”

Elise wrapped her arms around her body, remembering that uncomfortable moment in Draco’s house. “I’d rather avoid a repeat performance if I can help it.”

He laughed. “Good choice.” He unbuttoned his shirt, slipped it off his shoulders, and set it on the pine-matted ground. Then he undid his boots and placed them next to his clothing. “You going to keep staring at me or get undressed, too?”

She’d been so entranced with what he looked like under the full moon that she’d forgotten to take off her clothes. “Sorry.”

Max slipped off his pants and briefs and stood before her naked. Whoa. Her insides sizzled and the urge to drop to her knees and suck on his cock almost overwhelmed her.

“I need to warn you,” he said, “that mates have a hard time keeping their hands off each other and might even shift in the process, so we have to be careful.”

“That wouldn’t be good.” For a lot of reasons.

With the glorious sight before her, her thoughts were so scattered she might not be able to shift. All she could think of was devouring him then making love with him.

Faster than probably any tiger could run, she ditched her clothes, not bothering to fold them. This time, she wasn’t embarrassed by her body but proud to be his mate. “Then I guess it’s natural for me to want to touch you all over.”

“Elise Daniels, you’re going to be the death of me.”

“Well, if you don’t move closer and warm me up, you’ll have my death on your hands.” She was totally exaggerating because her blood was rushing through her body so fast she was on fire from the inside out.

“Come here then.” Max folded her in his arms, and when her breasts pressed against his hard chest, every hormone in her body went wild.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, when what she really wanted to do was wrap her legs around his waist and make mad, passionate love with him. Yes, she enjoyed sex, but this overwhelming need was causing her pulse to soar and her pussy to convulse. “Can we shift and run around a little bit later? I have something I need to do first.”

Elise didn’t wait for him to ask what that was. Instead, she kissed him. They both opened their mouths at the same time, and as their tongues danced and explored, she lowered her arms, giving her access to his incredibly muscular back and hard-as-steel buns. As she pressed firmly against him, fur sprouted on his body, forcing her to break the kiss.

  “Ah, Max?”

“Shit, sorry. When I’m around you, my tiger wants to take over. You have no idea how hard I have to fight with myself not to lose control and shift. You’re lucky you haven’t been a tiger long enough to know.”

  “I guess.”

Max dropped to his knees and spread her legs wide. He said she wasn’t experienced enough to shift, but holy hell, something was clawing at her insides trying to get out. It had to be her tiger.

The first swipe of his tongue on her wet slit made her grab his head for balance. Her claws partially extended, forcing her to let up the pressure so she wouldn’t do some unintentional damage. When he slipped a finger into her opening and twisted it around, she dropped back her head and nearly roared. “It feels so fucking good.”

“Hold on tight. It’s about to get better.”

His words entering her head didn’t scare her this time. In fact, she welcomed them. It was as if the two of them shared the same thoughts and were slowly becoming one. As much as she wanted to think about what they had together, the second he licked her clit, her mind blanked and her orgasm swept in fast. Not only did her climax take her breath away, it caused some kind of power to surge through her. Now she was the one who had to fight her feral urges.

“My turn,” she panted. All she wanted was one lick of his cock.

Max stood and clenched his hands. “I’ll give you a few seconds. No more. Any longer and I won’t be responsible for what I do.”

She loved that he wanted her so much. This time, she totally understood. All the wild animal yearnings were blending with her human hormones and would make this union bigger and better than anything she could ever imagine.

Elise leaned over, and as she drew his cock into her mouth, a slight spray of cum tinged her tongue. While it might be smart to back away, she needed his scent in her. Grabbing the base of his cock, she pumped her fist up and down while drawing him deep into her throat. His fingers clutched her hair and pulled it taut.

“No more!” he shouted, backing away.

While it was dark under the trees, her vision had sharpened, enabling her to see the way his eyes glowed a golden hue. He grabbed her by the waist and backed her up until she bumped against the tree behind her.

“Wrap your legs around me.” His words came out in a growl.

With his hands under her butt, he lifted her up, and she did as he asked. Leaning forward, she drew his bottom lip between her teeth, loving the way he made her feel safe. “Need you.”

  “Then have me
.”

Max seemed to always know the right thing to say. Elise slipped one hand between them and latched onto his hard cock. Pressing her feet against the side of his legs, she lifted up, and as she guided him between her folds, it was as if her tiger decided it was time for her to take over. She plunged down at the same moment Max thrust upward, and she went soaring. Her eyes widened and the friction sent spikes of need straight through her core.

All of the smells, touches, and primal contact created havoc deep within her, and Elise couldn’t get enough of him. She pressed her chest against his in an effort to meld with him, and her kiss came out hard and sloppy, but it couldn’t be helped. The urge to be one with him was so strong that she was unable to stop twisting her tongue around his, absorbing his animal scent.

A well of lust burst from within and blended with love, stunning her to her core. How could she ever have believed that he wasn’t her dream man? This was right where she was meant to be—in his arms, forever.

Max broke the kiss, leaned back, and dipped his head. The second he nabbed one of her nipples, her inner walls swelled, readying for the next climax. As he tugged and pulled, waves of ecstasy washed over her.

“Hurry.” She sounded desperate but she didn’t care. Need was assaulting her from every angle.

  “I can’t wait either.”

Each thrust took her higher and made her want him even more. She lowered her head to his shoulder and he kissed her neck on the other side. Her canines sharpened and without any conscious thought on her part, she sunk her teeth into his neck just as he dug his teeth into her. The moment they were united all hell broke loose. If she thought any of her previous climaxes had been monumental, she was wrong. Her eyes rolled back into her head and her claws dug into his back. Nothing mattered but his hot seed pummeling into her. The Elise of old would have freaked that she was having unprotected sex, but this new tiger-woman wanted it all.

Her lover roared as she screamed her release. As soon as his cock finished pulsing, she lowered her legs and nearly dropped to the ground. Supporting her, he leaned over and kissed her, this time gently, and his tender care had her swooning.

As much as she wanted a repeat performance, she needed to pace herself. Elise broke the kiss. “I think I need to rest.”

Max wrapped an arm around her waist. “Why don’t we sit in the chopper with the heat on?”

She looked up at him. “That is so sweet, but I just need to catch my breath. That was… I have no words.”

  “Me neither.”

For the next few minutes, Max held her, kissing the top of her head and face. Being in his arms was such a gift. She leaned back. “I’m good now.”

Max glanced up through the branches. “Moon’s full. It’s a rite of passage to run on the first day of your shift.”

  “Lead the way.”

This time, Elise pictured herself as a tiger and as she ran after his animal, she shifted. The freedom of running in the woods had amped up her senses as well as her excitement. Never in her life had she moved so fast and so gracefully.

Max ran around a tree then climbed up with little effort. Well, hell. If he could do that, so could she. Without thinking about falling, her claws dug into the tree as she scrambled to the branch across from him. To her delight, she was able to rest on the limb without having the sense she would fall off.

  “Cool, isn’t it?” Max telepathed.

“More that cool. It’s amazing. I’m loving it.”

They rested for a bit, and then Max darted down the tree. Elise’s tiger followed. For the next hour they ran, romped, and played with each other. When the clouds covered the moon, Max motioned that they head on back. This was definitely a night she’d always remember.

  10

“Whew!” Elise exhaled. After shifting and dressing, they headed to the helicopter. “I’ve never felt that free in my life. Thank you for bringing me here.”

Max looked over at her and smiled. “We can come back anytime you want.”

He helped her up into the seat next to him and then went through his pre-flight check before taking off. Everything from the lovemaking to the running through the woods had her heart rate still spiking.

Once he was in the air, she readjusted her headset. “Can we talk?”

He glanced over at her. “Sure. I’ll tell you everything you want to know. No lies. No secrets. I promise.”

“So what happens now?” She said into the mic.

“You know how I feel. I realize it’s probably too soon for you, but I want you in my life, with me.”

  “Because we’re mates?”

“I won’t deny that’s part of it, but I’ve never met anyone who makes me feel so alive and excited the way you do. You see the real me, and not a man with a lot of money. You were absolutely right not to trust me when I told you I could shift into a tiger, and you were right to be angry when I lied to you.”

“I should have asked you to prove you were a shifter back in the hotel room, but I was afraid. Knowing me, I would have passed out or accused you of performing some magic trick.” She twisted in her seat in order to watch him better. “What’s the other part?”

“While sexually, we are more than a perfect match, you intrigue me. You can be a bit challenging too, but that’s good for me. It will keep me on my toes,” he added with a wry grin. “Perhaps what I love the most about you is that you are wonderfully open and totally engaging.” He looked over at her. “I need you, Elise.”

Wow. “I’ll admit I love hearing those words, but you can’t know who I am. We haven’t known each other for long.” But she did feel as if she’d known Max forever.

“Perhaps not now, but with time, I will learn all of your secrets.”

Her pulse pounded at the deeply personal words. “But I live in California and you live in Nevada.” Her temple throbbed.

He glanced over at her and squeezed her leg. “There’s no denying that we belong together. I want you to move here. If you feel compelled to work, I could use your talents.” Max clasped her hand and brought her fingers to his lips. “Please give us a try.”

  “I’d like that.”

Las Vegas soon came into view, and it seemed like only seconds later he was maneuvering the helicopter to the top of his casino landing pad. As soon as he cut the engine, he hopped out of the chopper, and then came around to her side. “Let’s go celebrate.”

Max lifted her by the waist and set her on the ground. Life with this wonderful man would never be dull, that was for sure. She had a lot of new experiences awaiting her and knew that she couldn’t find a better person to share them with, than her real live, fantasy man, Max Tendor.

Not only do I love to read, write, and dream, I'm an extrovert. I enjoy being around people and am always trying to understand what makes them tick. Not only must my books have a happily ever after, I need characters I can relate to. My men are wonderful, dynamic, smart, strong, and the best lovers in the world (of course).

You'll find me most days on my chaise lounge with my laptop and my iced tea(unsweetened!) on the side table. I love to sleep in late and write into the wee hours. I also love FB, so you'll find me on there, too!

I believe I am the luckiest woman. I do what I love and I have a wonderful, supportive husband, who happens to be hot!

  Fun facts about me

  (1) I'm a math nerd who loves spreadsheets. Give me numbers and I'll find a pattern.

  (2) I'm addicted to taking pictures (I taught high school photo for 30 years). I plan to periodically post some of my favorites on my newsletter [so sign up!].

  (3) I also like to exercise. Yes, I know I'm odd. Not only do I walk with different women each week, I teach Pilates twice a week at a local rec center, and lift weights the other days.
