“Thank you, Gillian.”
“You’re welcome. Now, I’ve taken up enough of your day. You let me know when you’re ready for your next mission. We’ll be ready for you. And if you want to bring along your own bodyguard, I have no problem with that. If you decide you just want to live the rest of your life as the new head of your family and the LaCelle Coven, that’s fine, too. But I hope that I’ll still get to see you and spend time with you. I like you,” Gillian said. “You’re pretty awesome.”
Solange stood as Gillian did. “You will, and thank you,” she repeated, hugging Gillian.
Gillian hugged Solange tightly. “No, thank you, Solange. The world has no idea what a debt it owes you. You are a blessing to us all.”
Solange walked Gillian to the door and saw her off before spinning on her heel as soon as the door closed. She ran up the stairs screaming for Crispin.
His footsteps could be heard rushing toward her from above and then he appeared on the landing at the top of the stairs on the third floor. “Solange?!” he called out, question and concern in his voice.
“Crispy!” she shouted. “How do you feel about being an honorary vampire slayer?!”
“Wait, what?” he asked, coming to a stop after having run down half a dozen stairs on his way to get to her.
“Gillian has erased every bit of record of your existence. She said if we wish it, we can hunt vampires together!”
Crispin raised his eyebrows.
“Umm, we are vampires,” he said.
“Well, yes, of course, but, we could hunt the evil ones,” she said.
Crispin nodded slowly as Solange finally reached the stair he was standing on. “We could. If you want to, I will be right beside you,” he answered.
“I hear an ‘or’ in there,” Solange said.
Crispin nodded as he smiled lovingly at her. “Or, we could travel the world for a while, experiencing all the things you’ve dreamed of. Then we could come back home, and see if we could live out one of my dreams.”
“What dream would that be?” she asked, allowing him to take her in his arms.
“I’ve always wondered what it would have been like to have my own child. I think I’d have been a wonderful father,” Crispin said, smiling nervously at Solange.
Solange’s smile fell. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open as she gawked at him.
“Solange? Lovely, we don’t have to. I just thought…”
“Yes!” she whispered urgently.
“Yes?” he asked, wanting to make sure it was something she wanted to do.
“Yes,” she repeated, with tears in her eyes. “I want to do that. I want a baby. I want to be a mommy. I want to make a family with you.”
“I want more than one baby, especially if they’re going to be anything at all like you,” Crispin said, kissing her.
“Baby?! Did someone say baby?” Marceline called out from the first floor as she leaned on her walking cane and looked up at them.
“Yes, Grandmama. We’re going to have babies,” Solange answered tearfully as she grinned non-stop and threw her arms around Crispin again.
“Oh, that’s wonderful!” Marceline cried happily. “Pauline! Pauline, come quickly! We must plan a shopping trip for the nursery!”
“Nursery?” Pauline’s voice called back to Marceline.
“Yes! Nursery,” Marceline answered. “But we must hire a wedding planner first,” Marceline said, pausing just before she walked out of sight in the foyer below them on the first floor. “We cannot have babies if we have not had a wedding first. We are after all, LaCelle’s,” Marceline said, pinning Crispin with a pointed look as she paused and gazed up at him.
“Of course,” Crispin answered, meeting her gaze directly without flinching.
Marceline gave him a firm nod, then resumed her walk out of sight toward Pauline as she rattled off a list of things to be done.
Crispin leaned back enough to look down at Solange in his arms, smiling up at him with tears still in her eyes. “Marry me?” he asked.
“Yes,” she answered.
“Travel with me, make some amazing memories with me?” he asked.
“Yes!” Solange said exuberantly.
“Have babies with me?” he asked.
“Absolutely,” she answered.
“Are you happy, Solange?” he asked, his smile faltering. He really wanted to know. “If you still want to slay, we can…”
Solange interrupted him. “If they need me on a particular case, I will always be available to assist, but my life has taken a new direction. It won’t be something I do constantly. I have other goals in mind, now.”
“So, you’re happy?” Crispin asked, stroking his thumb across her cheekbone.
“I am. I am so blessed, Crispin.”
“Love you,” he said, leaning in for a kiss.
“Love you, too,” she said, surrendering herself to the kisses that always made her thankful she was exactly who she was.

About the Author
My name is Sandra R Neeley. I write Paranormal, SciFi, and Fantasy Romances. Why? Because normal is highly overrated. I’m 57, I have two kids, one 34 and one 14, one grandchild, one husband and a menagerie of animals. I love to cook, and I love to read, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I’m a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I’m a self-published author and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I tend to follow my muse — the louder the voice, the greater the chance that voice’s story is next.
I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the
dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please read the warnings supplied with each of the synopsis about my books before you buy them. I’ve got five series published at this time, Avaleigh’s Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - SciFi Romance, and Riley’s Pride - PNR, Variant - a dark genetic manipulation romance, a couple of standalone novels, several short stories, and much, much more to come. I’m always glad to hear from my readers, so feel free to look me up and say hello.
