Chase quickly shook his head. “No, but I almost did. I mean, I was close to actually fucking her, but I thought about Rayne, and that’s what stopped me.”
“Good,” Jeremy sighed with relief. “So, what happened after that?”
“I basically told her that I wanted out of our relationship.” Chase responded.
“Wow,” Jeremy said like he couldn’t believe that Chase actually broke up with Brooke. “How did she take it?”
“Terribly,” Chase responded. “She screamed, she cried, she threw out threats about taking Mason from me, she begged, and then she grabbed my leg to try and stop me from leaving.”
Jeremy frowned. “Grabbed on your leg?” He questioned. “Damn, was it that bad?”
Chase nodded his head up and down. “Yeah, it was that bad. It was so bad that I almost didn’t leave her. I almost changed my mind.” He sighed sadly. “I hated to do it.”
“Awww man,” Jeremy said seeing that his cousin felt bad about breaking up with Brooke. “I know you hated it, but it had to be done.”
“I know. I just hated seeing her act like that. It really fucked up my nerves.” Chase responded.
“I bet,” Jeremy said. He’d experienced a bad break-up before as well, so he definitely knew the feeling. But, Brooke and Chase were together for five years. It couldn’t have been easy for his cousin; especially with Brooke being the mother of his child. They sat there in silence for a moment before Jeremy started to laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” Chase questioned giving Jeremy a curious glance.
“I was just thinking that Rayne must be something special if thinking about her stopped you from getting some pussy.” Jeremy said while still snickering like that was the funniest thing ever.
A grin spread across Chase’s face at the mention of Rayne’s name. “Shut up,” he said joining in on the laugh.
“I’m just saying.” Jeremy responded with a shake of the head.
“But, you’re right though, she is something special.” he agreed. “It’s crazy though, because I haven’t even slept with her yet. But, I find myself falling in love with her already. It’s just something about her.”
“You’re falling in love with her already,” Jeremy repeated. “Yeah, she must be something special then. So, breaking up with Brooke was all worth it?”
Chase didn’t even hesitate to answer that question. “Yeah, it was all worth it.” He answered truthfully. Although he hated the way him and Brooke ended things, he still didn’t regret breaking up with her. Especially, if it meant that he could finally be with Rayne like he wanted.
Chapter 12
Winter pulled up to A-Town Studios and parked her car. She leaned her head back on the seat and closed her eyes for a brief minute. “Ugh, I think I still got a hangover.” She complained while rubbing the temple of her head.
Rayne laughed and shook her head. “I know you probably do. The way you was throwing those shots back last night,” she teased.
“Yeah, if I knew I had to get out of bed today, I wouldn’t have drunk so much. I intended on sleeping in all day.”” Winter responded.
“I told you that I could have called Chase to come and pick me up,” Rayne told her as she snickered from the way her sister was looking.
“I know, but I didn’t see any point of doing that when I was already there.” Winter said while opening up the door. “Come on, let's go.” She said. “So, you can get to work.”
Rayne frowned. “Wait, you’re coming in?” she pondered as she got out of the car behind her sister.
Winter nodded her head. “Yes, I haven’t gotten the chance to hear those vocals since you’ve been so secretive about this record. I wanna hear what my lil Sis sound like.”
Rayne smiled. There was nothing like having Winter’s support. “A’ight cool,” she said. They made their way inside the building where they immediately spotted James. He was sitting behind his comfortable desk as usual.
“Hello ladies,” James greeted with a warm smile.
“Hey James,” Rayne spoke with a wave of her hand.
“Hey James,” Winter spoke with a smirk on her face. Flashbacks of her walking in on him receiving head from Molly crossed her mind. She looked away from him to keep herself from laughing.
“Chase is already in the studio, Rayne.” James responded while checking out her sister on the sly. He saw the smirk on her face and was wondering what she was thinking about.
“Okay, thanks. Guess we’ll head on up. We’ll talk to you later.” Rayne said with a smile. She and Winter then headed in the direction of the elevator.
James stood there watching them as they walked away. He wanted to say something to Winter, but for some reason he couldn’t find the words. As soon as they made it to the elevator his nerves kicked in and he called out, “Winter!”
Winter glanced back at him. “Yes,” she responded.
“Do you mind if I talk to you for a moment?” James questioned.
Winter looked over at Rayne who had a big grin on her face. “Go ahead,” Rayne whispered. “You know you want to.”
“Whatever,” Winter responded brushing her off. “I’m going to see what he wants just to give you and Chase some time alone, but I will be up there in a few.”
“Sure you will,” Rayne responded not believing Winter’s little front she was trying to put on like she didn’t like James. “I’ll see you in a few.” She mocked as she stepped onto the elevator. “And be good,” She added with a wink.
Winter shook her head at her sister before making her way back over to James’s desk. “What up?” She pondered while stopping in front of him with her arms crossed.
“Nothing much,” he responded with a handsome smile. “I was trying to see what was up with you.” He grinned while leaning back in his chair. “I’ve been thinking about you ever since our last encounter.”
Winter laughed. “You’re talking about the day I walked in and caught Molly giving you head?” She teased.
“Yeah, that day,” James responded with a chuckle. “I’m still waiting for that phone call, though.”
“Oh really,” Winter responded. “I wasn’t aware that I was supposed to call you.”
“Of course you were. I gave you my number for a reason. Don’t act like you haven’t been thinking about me, too.” He said with a cocky grin.
“Wow, conceited much?” Winter responded trying to act like she was offended.
“Naw, just speaking the truth,” James flirted. He licked his lips while his eyes roamed over her body. She was definitely fine. She had the same banging ass body as Rayne. The truth was that he couldn’t have Rayne, because she was off limits, but her sister wasn’t though.
Winter stood back eyeing him the same way he was eyeing her. He was handsome and his cockiness was a big turn on to her. She wasn’t going to lie to herself. She was definitely digging his style. Not to mention that she’d seen what he was working with underneath. His dick alone looked like it could do some serious damage, but in a good way. “Well, I’m not going to lie, I have been thinking about giving you a call.” She admitted.
“I knew you couldn’t resist this charm.” James teased with a flirtatious smile.
“Ha,” Winter threw her head back and laughed. “Don’t get to full of yourself there.” She said. “But, I was wondering if you would like to go out sometimes.”
“I sure would.” James responded feeling excited about her wanting to spend some time with him and actually asking first, to his surprise. “Where would you like to go?”
“Well,” Winter paused while thinking about it. “There’s this place called Indigo’s. Have you ever been there before?” She questioned.
James nodded his head. “Yeah, I’ve been a couple of times. It’s a nice lil place to hang out at.”
“Yup,” Winter agreed. “I thought we could go there to get to know each other a little. Not tonight though, because I just went last night with Rayne and I’m still trying to recover from
my hangover.” She shyly grinned. “But, I was thinking maybe this weekend.”
James nodded his head in agreement. “Sure, I would like that. You got my number so just hit me up and let me know the time.”
“I will,” Winter responded.
“Oh and you can call me before then. You know just in case you just want to talk.” James added.
Winter laughed. “A’ight, I will keep that in mind.” She said, and then turned to walk away. “Talk to you later.” She shot over her shoulder.
“Yeah, I will talk to you later.” James smiled. He licked his lips again as he stared at her ass. Damn, I definitely can’t wait to get a piece of that.” He thought before turning his attention back to the door.

Meanwhile in the studio, Chase was just getting off the phone with Brooke’s mother from checking up on Mason. He didn’t know if Brooke had made good on her threat of leaving and taking Mason with her. He was relieved to find out that her mother still had him. He’d made a mental note to go by there after he finished up in the studio to check on his lil man. He wanted to see his son and talk to Brooke’s parents. He figured maybe they could talk some sense into Brooke and convince her to not keep Mason from him.
Chase glanced over at Rayne, who was sitting on the couch patiently waiting on him. “Hey,” he called out. Rayne glimpsed up from looking down at her phone and smiled at him.
“Hey,” She spoke back. She stood up and walked over to where he was sitting.
As soon as she got close enough, he reached up and pulled her into his arms. “Hmmm,” Chase said while inhaling her enticing, sweet scent. “You don’t know how happy I am to see you,” he spoke in her ear.
Rayne let out a soft giggle. “I see someone has missed me.”
Chase pulled back and stared into her eyes. “I have, a lot.” He smiled. “I got some good news, too.”
“Really, is it about my song or us?” Rayne questioned with a look of excitement in her eyes.
“Us,” Chase responded with a laugh.
“What about us?” Rayne asked.
“Well, we can officially say that Brooke and I are over.” Chase responded.
“What?” Rayne said as her eyes widened. “You broke up with Brooke?”
Chase nodded his head. “Yup,” he responded with a smile.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe it. You finally did it.” Rayne said while throwing her arms around his neck. She pulled back once she realized something. “But, wait when did this happen?” She questioned. The last time she talked to Chase, he didn’t know where Brooke was. She must have come home last night or this morning. She thought to herself.
“She came home last night,” Chase spoke confirming her thoughts. “We talked and I told her that it was over between us.”
“Oh okay,” Rayne responded. “How did she take it?”
Chase shook his head while thinking about everything that went down the night before. “She didn’t take it that well. She did a lot of crying and trying to convince me to stay with her. I got to admit it she made me feel bad for leaving.” He said.
“That was to be expected.” Rayne responded. “I figured she wouldn’t make it easy for you to leave.”
“True, but I’m glad it’s over.” Chase agreed. “Now we can be together.”
Rayne let out a sigh. Of course, she was happy that Chase could now be with her, but she wanted to make sure that it was really what he wanted. “Are you sure you’re ready to be with me? I mean, I don’t want you having any doubts, because you’re moving from one relationship right into another one.”
“I’m definitely sure that I want to be with you. I’ve known it for months now.” Chase responded with the quickness. “I broke up with Brooke, because I wasn’t happy; not because I didn’t want to be in a relationship. There was something missing in our relationship and just being around you made me realize what was missing.”
Rayne nodded her head taking in everything that he had said. “So you’re ready for me to be your girl, huh?” She asked one more time just to confirm it.
“Yup, I’m ready to start my future with you right now. As of today, you’re no longer single.” He said with a Colgate smile spread across his face. “You’re my girl now and hopefully you will be my wife one day.” Chase grinned
Rayne blushed. “I like the sound of that.” She whispered. She then leaned over and gave him a passionate kiss.
“Hmmm,” Chase moaned against her lips. “You know I can’t wait to get some of that.” He said while squeezing her thigh.
“Well, you might not be waiting that long.” Rayne teased before jumping up from his lap. “Now come on. Let’s get some work done.”
“Do we have to?” He questioned. “Because, I was hoping that we could just leave on outta here and go to your house.”
Rayne leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. “You would wanna do that wouldn’t you?”
“You know I do,” he said still smiling.
“Stop smiling like that, because the only thing we’re about to do is make some great music together.”
“I can’t wait until we’re making some great love together.” He teased, but was definitely serious.
“In due time,” she said with a smile as she turned to walk off. “In due time, Chase Montgomery.”
Chase smiled with a shake of the head as he watched her enter the sound booth. Rayne was everything he could ask for and more. He definitely had fallen for her and was glad that he was able to break things off with Brooke. Being with Rayne was more important and he was going to do everything in his power to keep Brooke at bay and Rayne closer to his heart.

Toya stood outside Brooke’s house waiting for her to open the door. She had received a call from her mother that morning telling her to go by and check on her. Apparently, Brooke wasn’t answering any calls and her parent’s still had Mason. She didn’t know what was going on, but she had the feeling that it had something to do with Chase. Toya immediately noticed that Chase’s cars wasn’t there when she had pulled up. She wondered what happened between the two of them now. She let out another sigh before banging on the door once again.
After banging on the door for another five minutes without getting any answer, she decided to use her spare key. She opened the door and slowly made her way inside the house. It was completely dark inside which immediately caused her to worry. “Brooke,” she called out while turning on the lights in foyer. She didn’t get any response so she made her way down the hall. “Brooke,” she called out again as she entered the master bedroom. The room was dark just like the rest of the house was. She turned on the light then gasped at the sight before her.
Brooke was laid out on the bed like a rag doll. She had her eyes opened with dried up tears on her face. Her hair was all over the place and she still had on the same dress she’d worn to the restaurant. “Oh my God, Brooke,” Toya exclaimed rushing over to her sister. “What happened? What’s wrong?” She questioned.
“He… He… He… left… me...” Brooke mumbled quietly.
“What you say?” Toya questioned being that she could hardly hear her.
“He... left… me…” Brooke mumbled a little bit louder.
“What are you talking about, Brooke?” Toya asked. “Who left you?”
“Chase!” Brooke screamed. She sat up on the bed and looked at Toya. “Chase left me!” She cried with tears coming down her face again.
“Awww,” Toya responded reaching over and hugging her sister. “I’m so sorry, Brooke.”
“I can’t believe this. I can’t believe he left me.” Brooke cried on Toya’s shoulder. “I was a good girlfriend. I gave him my all and he still left me.”
“Shhh,” Toya rocked her. “It’s going to be okay, Sis.” She responded. She was still shocked herself that Chase had actually left Brooke.
“It’s not going to be okay, because that nigga left me!” Brooke cried out. She pulled away from Toya and stared off int
o space, and then started back mumbling. “After all the shit I done for him and this is how he repays me.”
“Brooke calm down and tell me what happened. What made Chase want to leave you like that?”
“I don’t know.” Brooke responded shaking her head. “I wrote him a letter telling him about how Q had hurt me, and then I left giving him some time to think. When I came back home, I was expecting him to want to work on our relationship, but instead he chose to leave me.”
“But why? What was his reason behind the decision that it’s now over?” Toya questioned.
Brooke shrugged her shoulders, and then responded. “He told me that he didn’t love me anymore. He basically left me to be with her.” She said sadly.
“Who is her?” Toya questioned trying to figure out who Brooke was talking about.
“Rayne!” Brooke snapped. “He left me to be with Rayne. He did the exact same thing that Q did. He left me to be with another woman.”
“Did he say that he was leaving you to be with Rayne?”
Brooke turned her head to look at Toya. “Of course he didn’t say that stupid. But, I know he did. That’s the whole reason why he broke up with me, because he wanted to be with that bitch.”
“Will you calm down,” Toya responded with a frown on her face. She wasn’t feeling how Brooke had just called her stupid, but she was going to let her slide this time. She knew she was just talking out of hurt and anger.
“Calm down!” Brooke said jumping up from the bed. “My man just left me for another woman. He just walked out on me and our son and you expect me to calm down?”
Toya shook her head. “I understand that, Brooke. I know you are hurt, but you need to calm down and get yourself together.”
“No, what I need to do is find out a way to get my man back!” Brooke shouted.
“And, how are you’re going to do that?” Toya questioned while shaking her head. Her sister was clearly not thinking straight at the moment.
“I don’t know, but I’m going to figure it out,” Brooke said staring at Toya with wide teary eyes. “I sat back and let another woman take Q away from me without doing anything. I’m not going to let the same thing happen with Chase. I’m going to fight for my family.” She said sadly looking at her sister, and then adding out of nowhere. “I’m a sex addict, Toya. Do you know how hard it was to stay faithful to Chase all of these years and not fuck every guy that looked at me?”
