"How about you let me be the judge of what I deserve?" she told him,
"Aw Amanda, I'm not wantin' to fight with you" Ben said, raising a hand to her face; "I just thought... uh... it was only reasonable to think... If I was off balance, after what you've endured for what, six, seven years? You'd just have to be pretty off balance yourself. Just thought, you could use some time to catch your footing, you know? Let you have enough space to get a clear view of things?"
"Ben Jensen, always thinking" Amanda smiled as she laid her hand over his.
"Well, it helps a fella keep from making too many mistakes... assuming he does that thinking part well enough."
"So then Ben, where are we?"
"Where are we girl? Let's see, I'm sober. You and your boy are free, and have a nice, fat gym bag! The sun is shining and the future is bright!
So, let's go inside. You can scrub my back again!"
Amanda punched him in the shoulder... again. "You're still a jerk Ben Jensen!"
