"Did I hurt you?" he said, cursing his impatience. "Liam? Did I?"

"God, no." Liam rolled his head back and forth, loving the stretching, the burning. "Give me more. Give me everything."

Ace didn't need to be asked twice. He braced his hands on either side of Liam, lifted his upper body up and off the bed, and started to move. Liam's ass was as tight and welcoming as he remembered it, and Ace quickly began to lose control. His thrusts became wild, feral, mindless, and Liam stayed with him, matching Ace's every stroke inside his body with strokes on his own cock. Together, they rose, rose again, rose higher, until – finally – Ace gave one last thrust and held himself there, deep and throbbing, and he came in a rush of bliss and relief and love.

Feeling Ace's release hot and wet inside his ass caused the chain-reaction in Liam. With two final strokes – up and down; up and down – his own climax came. He cried out as his cum erupted from the purple, weeping crown, so strong that he almost blacked out for a few seconds. His orgasm was so intense, so fucking amazing, that it hit Ace in the chest, leaving tiny, glistening pearls on the ravaged skin, making it almost beautiful.

"Oh, my God," Liam muttered, still a bit dizzy. "That was..."

"What we both needed," Ace finished for him. He lowered himself on top of Liam's trembling body, gave him a sweet kiss on his lips. "You ready?"

Liam nodded, then winced slightly as Ace pulled out carefully. Ace lay down now, and they turned to face each other, totally uncaring that their fronts were sticky messes.

"You good?" Ace whispered as he cradled Liam close and safe. "I wasn't too hard on you?"

"Mmmmmmmm." Liam's sated, throaty murmur made Ace laugh. "No. Never. The harder you are on me, the more I like it."

"I noticed, sweetheart." Ace kissed him again. "But I promise, from now on, I'll only be hard on you in the bedroom."

  "That sounds like a deal."

Ace raised his right hand, looked at his ring again. "So are we married?"

"Well." Liam kissed Ace's upper shoulder. "If we are, we just consumated it."

  "Hell, yeah, we did."

"It's your choice, babe." Liam's voice was suddenly very serious, and Ace looked at him, a bit surprised at the change in mood. "Anything you want, that's what we'll do. You want the full-on public and civil ceremony and marriage on paper and legal stuff and a party after, I'll do it. You want it quiet and private and secret in a tiny, city hall office in Madrid, with just my parents there, I'll do it. You want to exchange rings and just live together and we understand what it really means, just between us, I'll do it. I'll do any of it... on paper, not on paper, I don't care, and I mean I don't care at all, because all I want and care about is being with you. Happy ever after and 'til death does us part. All the bad stuff, and hard stuff, and good stuff."

Ace smiled. "I want it all."

Liam propped his head up on one hand. "All?"

"Yeah. All." Ace touched Liam's fingerprint on the ring, loving the idea of having it on his body all the time; it was like a touch that would never, ever be removed. "I want the formal stuff, and I want the party stuff, and I want the 'ever after' stuff."

  "Are you sure?"

"Liam." Ace kissed him again, loving the knowledge that for the rest of his days, he'd be kissing this man. "I've never been more sure of anything in the whole of my life." He smiled, and Liam knew that he'd be looking at that amazing, brilliant smile for as long as he had hours on this earth. "I want the bad stuff, the good stuff, the hard stuff, and I want it because when I'm with you, all of that becomes the best stuff."

"And you only deserve the best?" Liam teased him.

"I don't know what I deserve," Ace admitted, thinking about his past crimes, all the awful things that he'd done that he wasn't sure had any statutes of limitations. "But I know that I'm going to work fucking hard every single day to make sure that I deserve you."

"You do," Liam said softly. "We're going to be good together, Ace."

"Oh, baby," Ace said, the low growl in his words showing Liam that he was gearing up to make love again. "We always have been. It just took me a while to figure that out. But I got there in the end, and I'm never going to let you go again... that's a promise, and of all the promises that I'm going to make you, that'sthe one to believe. That's the one to hold on to. That's the one that we'll build our life together on." He stroked Liam's face. "Until death does us part."

And for the forty-one years that they had together, for all the promises that Ace made Liam and kept, that promise – the promise to never let Liam go again – was the one that Ace held most dear. It was the one that pulled them through hard times, and bad times, and made the good times all the sweeter.

It was the best promise; it was the one that they built a life on. Together.
