Before she had any chance to recover in the least, he flipped himself onto his back and brought her with him, laying her out on her back along the top of him and pistoning his rock hard self up into her. Holding her still, knowing she was bound to dislike this exposed position, but he loved it as it left her entire body open for him to touch and pinch and tweak to his heart's content as he took her, and his hands landed right where she didn't want them to as he filled her and stretched her relentlessly.
He worried her nipples avidly, one hand pinching a tight, hard little pebble as his other hand found its way down her body to another type of hardened nub. Using her body's gushing response to him against her to flick and rub and even pinch that even more delicate bundle of nerves, until she surrendered herself to him again and again and again. Throughout the entire time that ramrod of his was forcing her to stretch around him with every powerful thrust, holding her still for him to take her as animal-like as he could until he stiffened beneath her and brought her to her last, loud ending.

About our life and us and...before Evan arrived and ruined things, I was—I was happy. Really happy, for the first time in my life, I think. My parents gave me things, but they never paid much attention to me. You gave me—you give me," she corrected. "That attention. I always know you're looking out for me, and that makes me feel very safe and..." she paused. "Loved. I feel very loved by you, even though you spank me."
He smiled. "I think the spanking is a big part of you feeling that from me, because you know that I won't make excuses, that I won't find a way to dodge my responsibilities to you—that I'll correct you, each and every time, without fail—whether you cry or kick or scream, you'll be spanked by me when you need it."
Mari found herself nodding, but that was as close as she'd probably ever get to admitting that the punishments he gave her were probably helping her.
"But it's more than that. I thought I felt it before you were injured, and now, after having spent so much time concentrated on you, taking care of you, I'm sure of it."
He looked puzzled. "Sure of what?"
She looked hesitantly up at him. "I love you, Con. You never have to worry about Evan ever again. He's just...nothing in comparison to you. I don't want you to even think about him again."
The smile on his face, that looked as if it was too big to be held there, was more than enough reward for the extreme awkwardness she felt in making her confession, and then she felt him sweep her up in his arms to hold her on his lap.
"I thought that, when you married me, you had made me the happiest man on Earth, but I was wrong. That doesn't hold a candle to what you just said to me. Thank you for being brave enough to say it. That couldn't have been easy. And please know that I love you just as much." Con brushed her hair away from her face and looked deeply into her eyes. "I love you, Marielle Wetherby. You are my wife, and you are my world, in one small, gorgeous, bratty package."
