He breathed a deep sigh of relief and had a quick workout to release the tension in his neck and shoulders.
After wiping himself down, he tossed his sweaty t-shirt on the floor, and lie back on his bed. Picking up his unopened Computer Wise magazine, a monthly subscription, he pulled off the plastic covering and flicked through it. He didn't think he could possibly concentrate on anything so mundane for a minute, not after all that had happened, but oddly he could. He became engrossed in an article about the next generation of ultra thin roll-up computers and super nano chip technology. Things were moving on at such a pace in the IT world that it staggered him at times. People were so inventive and clever. He didn't think it would be long before the entire human race had a chip inserted in their brains and were connected up to the internet, staring at the world through monitor shaped eyes. He smiled to himself, thinking what a visionary mindset he had, as he continued to read.
Suddenly the doorbell blared and he jumped out of his skin, obviously still unnerved.
Jeez, that bell could wake the dead.
It was a loud buzzing noise which couldn't fail to be heard, probably in the next village, nearly three miles away. Mrs Higgins was unfortunately quite deaf and the bell was set on the highest setting so that she could hear it when she was working around the house, cleaning or cooking.
He jumped up and looked out of the window. There was no car or van there. Callers on foot were rare as they lived in the depths of the Suffolk countryside. There were no paths and very few houses. But they sometimes did have people call. He couldn't see who was there because of the entrance porch columns obscuring his view and the overgrowth of ivy, which covered the house almost entirely. He flew downstairs, tripping the alarm, which set off loudly. He turned the alarm off, with a quick press of the red and yellow buttons, and opened the door, anxious to see another person, whoever it was.
His heart stopped beating and his breath heaved in his chest. It was her. Melanie.
“Oh, hi...” he said lamely, at a loss for words at the stunner standing before him. He quickly dragged his gaze up to her face and kept it there, with difficulty.
“I thought I'd come early. I finish at three at the dental surgery on Mondays,” she said with a warm smile. “So, can I come in?” Her eyes swept over his bare chest in open admiration. He felt the heat begin to build.
“Mel, I don't know... Is this a good idea?” he began earnestly.
“Why not? I'm really looking forward to my ride... Please Kyle...” she said sweetly and innocently. But he was pretty sure her inner feelings and intentions didn't match her tone of voice. He could see it in her eyes. That burning look struck him in his gut, and lower than his gut...
He let her in and closed the door, turning and taking a deep breath.
“Wow, you've certainly dressed for the occasion!” He couldn't stop himself from grinning from ear to ear at the beautiful vision. He lapped it up hungrily as they had a long mutually appreciative stare at each other.
“So you like?” she teased, playfully.
“Mmmm,” he managed to force his tongue to reply.
Fuck, did he like? Christ Almighty... She couldn't be more of a hot biker chick...
Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, wispy tendrils trailing sexily around her neck and face. Big chunky silver earrings adorned her pretty ears.
But her clothing was something out of his wildest fantasies...
Tight, very low cut faded jeans, just about hugged her hips, in fact they were so low rise they just about covered her snatch... he couldn't help staring at the bare strip of skin above them, her hipbones exposed for his inspection... and the cropped black leather biker jacket sheathing her luscious upper body, skimming over those large mounds of very edible flesh that had been pressed up against him so hard. A brief black top sparkled underneath, tantalising his taste buds even more... And if that wasn't enough to have him licking her feet... at the very end of her sexed up look, were a pair of black strappy patent boots, with spiked fuck me heels.
Whoa...
He let out a sigh that had built up to a crescendo inside him... a mixture of lust and complete adoration...
Jesus and holy mother... this was too much for a sex deprived male to take...
“Can I get you something?” he asked mindlessly, his thoughts travelling off somewhere far too wonderful.
“No, I'm fine,” she said with a smile, her eyes still glued to his chest and toned stomach. He smiled with satisfaction. How good it felt to be admired and lusted after.
“Where's your car, Mel?” His mind whirred into action.
“I got my Mum to detour and drop me off on the way to the shops. Then I knew you'd have to give me a ride home on your bike, wouldn't you?” she replied cheekily, licking her glossy pink lips. “Oh my God, what happened to that door?” she suddenly asked, catching sight of the scratched up study door to his right.
“A spot of canine destruction,” he said with black humour. He'd tell her about it later. Not now. They'd have their ride first.
He wanted her holding him tightly, snuggling her softness to his back, as they flew around the lanes. He wanted that close feeling more than anything else in the world. Wolf tales could wait a while.
“I can't believe Martha did that!” she exclaimed.
“Mmmm, really sharp claws,” he added vaguely. “I'll get dressed, give me a minute.”
He shot up the stairs, barefoot, taking them three at a time. He put on his best t-shirt, socks and boots, and grabbed his jacket, shrugging it on as he descended the staircase. She stood where he had left her, bending and petting the dog enthusiastically.
“I definitely don't believe this sweet little thing did all that damage...” she said pointedly, giving him a questioning look.
“Yeah, it's quite a mess... Look, we can stop off for an early dinner in a pub I know. Fancy that?” he asked, trying to deflect her attention.
“That'll be nice. So it's a real date then?” she asked with a long burning look into his eyes.
“Have you finished with my bro?”
“Not yet. But I will pretty soon. I need to get him in the right mood.”
“Then it's a friendly outing. Nothing more,” he said with a coolness he really didn't feel.
“I feel way more than friendly about you,” she whispered breathily.
“Mel... Please...”
“I'm not blind Kyle. I've seen the way you look at me. And after yesterday I know you feel it too. Look, don't say anything more. Let's have some fun and go out for that friendly ride, shall we?”
He led her outside, looking around warily. He was suddenly concerned. The pack could swarm out at any moment from wherever they were hiding.
Shit, he was becoming obsessed. They were probably miles away by now. At least he hoped they were.
He shook off his irrational worries and walked the bike out from the garage, propping it up. Then got his helmet off the shelf and an older one he kept as a spare. He passed it to her. She stood with wide admiring eyes, taking in the sharp looking, dark grey and chrome piece of mechanical perfection standing in front of her.
“Dear God... You didn't say you had a Harley!” she exclaimed in rapture. “I think I'm having a bike orgasm here.”
He laughed loudly. It wasn't the best or fastest bike you could buy. In fact it was a bit of an old classic, a lightly customised Harley Fatboy sport bike... but it was his little beauty in any case. And he knew exactly what she meant.
“So you like my old bike do ya'?”
“I just love it!” she gasped. They fastened their helmets and he got on the seat, kicking up the stand with his heel, and taking the machine's weight between his thighs. It was a heavy bike to hold up when stationery. He took the extra weight as she mounted behind him, her hands on his shoulders, getting comfortable and finding the footrests for her fuck-me high heels to hook themselves over. Never had he looked forward to a ride on his bike more. Her arms wrapped around his waist and her
body pressed itself close. He started the engine up and pulled away. It growled like a lion rousing from a long sleep beneath them. Its tyres crunched their way down the gravel drive and he paused at the gate as he checked the lane beyond.
He hoped he didn't crash with the distraction of the extremely hot little blondie plastered to his back.
He put his foot down and accelerated rapidly along the empty lane straight ahead.
“Oh my God....” she squealed in the heights of excitement. And he smiled wickedly to himself. Mel was gonna get the ride of her life today, one way or another. Because he'd decided something in the last few minutes. Whether she'd dumped Chris or not, it was as good as done.
As from this moment, she was his.
They skimmed through the lanes he knew so well, leaning into the many curves and bends. His whole body was alive with heated enjoyment as she hugged him tightly. For a half an hour they rode, enjoying the experience together. It was sunny, a beautiful September afternoon. The breeze was light and welcome as they flittered in and out of the shadows of the trees bordering the lanes. They'd almost completed the five village circuit when he pulled into the pub he knew, not far from home. They parked up around the back. She slipped off the bike and he kicked the stand into place, getting off and removing his helmet. She shook her pony tail out and fluffed it up with her hands.
“Hungry?” he asked with a deep, meaningful look.
“Mmmm, I could definitely do with something to keep me going.” She smiled and licked her lips.
“So, how was it, my little bike virgin?” he asked, taking her hand as they went inside.
“Dreamy, thrilling, absolutely so sexy... I'm coming every time you go.”
“Are you now?”
“You bet. Make sure you come by and pick me up.”
He wouldn't say no to that request. Having Mel pressed to his back forever would be more than pleasant. Not quite as pleasant as having her pressed to his front, that was true, but that was gonna happen off road.
He settled her at a table, and after studying the menu, he went to the bar to order their steak sandwiches, fries, salad, and drinks.
There were a couple of middle aged guys sitting at the bar chatting in their broad Suffolk country accent. One long haired, the other bald.
“I 'eard Bernie lost two more sheep last night... Plus the three the night afore... They say it were wild dogs. But I knows what it be,” the long haired one declared, looking down his nose in a superior manner.
“Oh Barry, Barry! PLEASE! You're not still going on about werewolves and the full moon, are 'ya?” the bald one half spluttered and half laughed, with what seemed to be exasperation.
“You can laugh all yer like Si, but I've seen 'em. Wiv' me own two eyes. I know they ain't natural. Not at all. Fearsome, ugly pieces of work,” he replied heatedly.
Kyle listened to their conversation with a growing unease as the pretty brunette barmaid pulled his half pint and poured Mel's glass of red wine.
“Oh for crissakes, shut up will 'ya, you're spoiling me pint, so you are. Jaqueline my darlin', introduce Baz to a packet of nuts so 'es got some like-minded pals to talk to, eh?”
The barmaid slapped a packet of peanuts in front of the hairy one with a little titter of amusement.
“It's the full moon tomorrow night, and you mark my words, there be a lot more than two or three getting shredded in the fields. See if I ain't right,” Barry warned in a solemn voice. He drained the last dregs of his pint and pocketed the nuts. “Best be off, me dearly beloved's due back soon. Be seein' ya' Si, Jackie love...” He toddled off, out the door, with a beery swagger.
“Bye Baz...” they both replied in unison.
Kyle gathered his thoughts and spoke casually with the remaining guy... “Quite a character by the sound of it, your friend,” he laughed with a frivolity he didn't feel.
“Mad as a hatter. Swears he saw werewolves a few years back. Saw 'em change before his eyes, he said. I think 'es 'aving the male menopause. Either that, or he's lost it,” the bald one replied and then he sniggered with Jaqueline conspiratorially.
“Don't make excuses for 'im. We all knows Baz is just plain 'ole mad,” Jaqueline said with a chuckle as she went off to give their food order to the kitchen.
He picked up the drinks and made his way back to her. He sat down opposite, across the tiny pub table. Mel's beautiful face and eyes soaked into his brain and he forgot the ridiculous and disturbing werewolf conversation instantly. They sipped at their drinks for a minute or two, thoughtfully.
He leaned across the table and kissed her. A sensual taste of a kiss which stirred them both up, wanting more. She pulled him back, her hand around his neck, and gave him more than a small dose of passion in return. It was as heated as they could get away with in public. Her hand rubbed his knee under the table and stroked his inner thigh softly.
They both came up for breath, their eyes glued to one another.
“Mel, what's really going on here?” he asked her straight. He really couldn't understand her fascination with him. Not when she had the choice between him and wonderboy.
“What d'you think?” she replied softly with a cute smile.
“Are you some kind of twin junkie or something? Do you feel the need to have us both?”
“For God's sakes no! I cant believe you've even asked me that!” she said in a hurt tone. He instantly regretted saying the words.
“What the hell do I have that you want?” he probed.
“Kyle, you have no measure of self worth at all, do you? But that's one of the things I like about you, I suppose. You're so very unassuming, thoughtful, quiet, highly intelligent and strong minded. Plus you're damn hot, I mean it... off the scale handsome...You're much more of a rounded person than Chris. He's so single minded and one way. Don't you understand that? I could go on and on... I should be asking what you could possibly see in me, to be honest!”
Damn hot AND highly intelligent...?
His heart sang with her sincerely meant, loaded compliments.
“But why date him if you felt that way?”
“I didn't know he was like that, did I? It's taken me a few weeks to see him in his true colours. But I noticed you first, a long time ago, when you first came in to our surgery. I've always felt something could happen between us, but until Chris asked me out, I had no way of ever speaking to you or finding out, did I?”
“But he's all over you, and you're so keen Mel. I've seen you.”
“That's how he is, all the time... It's all physical with him, like nothing else is important. I don't think we've ever had a proper conversation, like we're doing now. About anything. He just pounces on me. Sex, sex and more sex. I play his game. I was so glad you came down to dinner yesterday. I was thinking we'd never get to talk. Didn't you see how fast I jumped on the opportunity to discuss the wolves?”
“Well I did think you were over keen, considering it was a family dinner.”
“It was either that or sneaking up to your room later. That's how desperate I was.”
“I want to trust you.”
“You can. Completely. Cross my heart and hope to die.”
“Because, I'd like to make it work, and it's going to be messy. You and I. For obvious reasons.”
“I'm prepared for that. I'll tell Chris tomorrow.”
The barmaid appeared with their meals. They smiled at each other and tucked in with a happy meeting of minds. They devoured their calories greedily. After all, who knew when they would next eat?
Chapter 3
They sailed back as if in a dream. The bike sang like a sex machine, throbbing between their thighs, fuelling their desire to a critical intensity. He felt like an open keg of gunpowder waiting for her to strike a match.
Her hands slipped under his jacket and t-shirt and touched his bare skin. He gasped and then moaned loudly, his sounds muffled within his helmet. It was as if a bolt of sexual energy had shot through him. He willed her on, mentally begging her to fe
el her way, anywhere. To do anything she liked. It was all he could do to keep the bike travelling in a straight line as her hands explored his muscular stomach and chest. He was just about as hard as he could get, and desperate to get her in bed, if they managed to get that far.
And he doubted they would, because as they drove up the driveway, approaching Brandon Manor, all her subtle caresses vanished as she rubbed at him ferociously, scraping her nails all over his skin and tugging at his small hard nipples. He drove straight into the open garage and turned the engine off. Their helmets were discarded in seconds and thrown to the floor. Her hand slipped down the front of his jeans and boxers and she pulled him back against her. He braced his feet to the ground as he sunk into her softness. He was groaning and heating up like a torch as she gripped his hardness tightly in her hand, pumping him fast and skimming her thumb across the slickened surface of his weeping head. His breathing was crazy, his chest heaving up and down, uncontrollably.
“Fucking hell Melanie, I want you so bad.”
“I wanna do it now, here. Fuck you on your bike... I so want to... Please?” His eyes opened wide with her straight talking. She was hotter than a star, about to go supernova. He wasn't sure he'd survive the experience, but at the moment he really didn't care. He'd leave this world with a damn big smile on his face.
“I can't do much, holding the bike up as well, but I'm game if you are.”
Her lips worked their magic, sucking at his ear and neck as she undid his fly, her hand stroking him feverishly. “For God's sake get those jeans off woman,” he growled in frustration and impatience.
