Brick: An Urban Paranormal Page 3

  “I missed you,” she said.

  “Get out,” I replied.

Her white silk robe dragged across the floor behind her as she sashayed over to me. Her skin was the color of midnight, and her eyes were the color of the water in Vada. Her long locs came down to her feet, and she had a white feather embedded into the center of her chest. A lot of the males called her “Goddess.” She was delicate like a flower, and her skin was softer than cotton. Her hips moved in rhythm as if she was dancing when she walked. We snuck around for years, and I thought I was going to marry her. The day I asked her was the day I found out she was marrying a king from another kingdom.

“Why are you still mad at me? You know I couldn’t marry a soldier. Please don’t hate me, Midas,” she said.

  “I don’t hate you,” I replied.

“Do you still love me?” she asked. I flew back in the open window and landed in front of her.

“Get the fuck out, Casha. What’s the matter? Your husband isn’t brick hard enough for you? I know he can’t fuck you the way I use to. You came here with other intentions, but too bad because I no longer get hard for you,” I said.

“Remember when we were younger and we use to escape to the forest? You use to pick me up and fly me above the trees. I slipped one night and broke my wing. I knew you were different from everyone else when you healed me. You are a special kind, and I will never forget that. I love you, Midas. I will always love you, and you know that. My brother will never approve of us being together. You have to understand that I didn’t want any of this,” Casha replied.

“We grew apart. I’m your slave; you sit next to your brother and look down on us, so I get it. You don’t have to keep reminding me of that shit. Get the fuck out of my domain,” I said.

“I can have your wings for talking to me like this!” she yelled at me.

“Your brother tried it already, and ask him how that turned out,” I spat. Casha stormed out the room with tears falling from her eyes.

I headed for the shower in the corner of my room. The shower in my home on Earth was much better; everything was better on Earth. I got dressed in armor gear after I stepped out the shower. I left out my room to go to the feast room. King, Jonelius called me over to his throne when I entered the room.

“How is it going?” he asked, and I wanted to bite his head off. The king wasn’t a gargoyle, but he had wings. We called the immortals who didn’t turn “angels.” They weren’t real angels, but because of their human bodies and small wings, we called them that.

“Everything is great on my end,” I said.

“I’m sure it is. How is Earth treating you?” he asked.

Better than this shit hole, muthafucka!” I thought.

“There will be a pretty little angel waiting for you in your domain after our feast. It’s a special gift from me to you,” Jonelius said.

“I’m good on a piece of ass,” I said. Jonelius smile faded away. His smile was replaced with anger. His eyes were red, and the vein in his neck was ready to pop.

“I talked to your father, and he thinks you should spend less time on Earth and more time in training,” he said.

“My spare time is my spare time. There isn't a rule saying I should spend my free time here. War and training are my only purpose for being in this kingdom,” I replied.

“I will burn you if you bring my kingdom down. You better hope like hell none of those humans come here because of you. You don’t belong on that planet!” he yelled at me. Everyone stopped talking and stared at us. Casha winked at me and blew me a kiss. She wanted to control me and was afraid of me moving on. She went to the king whenever she couldn’t get her way with me.

“I don’t belong here, and you know it!” I gritted.

“We will finish this some other time. My guests have arrived,” Jonelius said. I walked out the dining room, and Casha was standing in the doorway. I leaned down and whispered in her ear.

“One more relentless move out of you, and I will tell your bitch-ass husband how bad you want me to fuck you,” I said.

“He won’t believe you over me,” Casha said.

I gave her a visual of the times we were intimate. She also saw a visual from when she came into my domain minutes earlier.

“I will show him better than I can tell him. The kingdom’s precious goddess on her knees while sucking my girth will be a visual for all to see don’t you think?” I asked. Her eyes watered, and she clenched her fists in anger.

  “Thought so,” I said.

I went back to my room and laid across my bed. I thought about Nabila for some reason. She was the least of my concern, but it was something about her witty ways.

Why am I interested in this human? Why is she important to me? I asked myself. I laid on my bed inside of my domain and thought about the human.

  Nabila

  Three weeks later…

I sat at work daydreaming about Brick. I was so sick of myself that I refused to do my hair that morning. It’s been three weeks, and I felt myself slipping into an unknown depression. I couldn’t understand why I felt depressed, and I refused to believe it was because of Brick. I barely knew him, so I couldn’t understand why I missed him.

What is wrong with me? Why do I keep thinking about the jerk? Why am I having withdrawals over something I wasn’t addicted to? Who is he to me? I thought.

“Bitch, I know you hear me!” Risha said.

  “What?” I asked.

“Why are you still here? You were supposed to be off an hour ago. I need to vacuum around your desk,” she said.

“I’m just out of it,” I said.

She sat down across from me in a chair and placed her feet on my desk. She popped her gum as she crossed her arms.

“Girl, you need to get a damn life! Hell, I have more of a life than you, and I got two jobs. You need a man or some dick. I don’t know why it’s so hard for you. I’m sick of it now,” she said. I rolled my eyes at her and logged off my computer.

“I met this man,” I finally admitted. She sat up and leaned on my desk with her arms folded.

“Oh honey do spill some of this hot tea,” she said.

  “He’s an asshole,” I said.

“All men are. Tell me something juicy. Did y’all fuck?” she asked.

“No, he wants to, but I’m afraid. He’s different than the average man—wayyyy different. It’s hard to explain, but just know that he might rip my pussy into shreds,” I said.

“Ohhhhhh, he’s one of those big dick brothers?” she asked.

  “Everything is big,” I replied.

“Do he have a brother?” she asked.

“I’m sure it's a lot more of where he came from, but that’s not the point. I’m scared to try something new. I'm not used to having that type of man. I’m kind of curious about him though,” I replied.

“Call him up and talk to him while I’m here,” she said.

  “I don’t have his number,” I said.

I don’t have the money to pay for that phone call to the planet he lives on anyway, I thought.

“What does he do for a living?” she asked.

“He was in the military,” I replied.

“We can go to your apartment to get dressed for the club tonight after I finish vacuuming. You have been standing me up for weeks. It’s time for us to go out and have some fun,” Risha said.

  “Okay,” I replied.

  Two hours later…

“Hey sexy lady. Can I have yah digits?” an older man asked me. Risha took me to a small club close to the hood where the drinks were three-dollars, but it had the best fried fish.

  “No you cannot,” I said.

“Stuck-up bitch,” he said before he walked away.

“So is your mama grandpa! Go back to the nursing home where you belong!” I yelled out after him. Risha spit her drink out from laughing.

“I’m sick of men,” I said.

  “Me too,” she replied.

  “I know you spo
tted someone in the crowd by now. We are not leaving until you take one of these fine-ass men home,” Risha said.

“I want you to put your drink down because obviously, you are drunk. Where do you see fine-ass men at? Everyone in here can get the senior-citizen discount at IHOP,” I said.

“It’s just dick. Why are you being picky?” Risha asked.

“I want an attractive dick like, Brick,” I slipped out.

  “Brick?” she asked.

“That’s his name. Ughhhh, he is seriously on my mind. You should see how beautiful he is. He’s very tall, and his body is amazing,” I gloated. Rihanna’s song, Sex with Me, played on the small jukebox which sat in the corner of the small club. I got up from the barstool and danced in the middle of the floor. Some guy smacked my butt, and I pushed him.

“Touch me again, and I will break your damn fingers off!” I yelled over the music. He looked at me like I was crazy before he scurried away. I couldn’t believe Risha dragged me out the house to go to a bar with old perverts. I ordered another drink when the song went off.

“Patron straight, and I want a double shot!” I yelled at the bartender over the music. Risha was talking to a man that looked sixty-years-old when I went back to our table.

“It will cost you if you want to take me out tomorrow,” Risha told the old man. He showed us his missing teeth when he smiled. His bottom teeth were missing, and he had two teeth at the top. His mouth reminded me of a six-month old baby. I grabbed my stomach to keep from puking. I wanted to slap the hell out of Risha. I was in need of some male attention, but I wasn’t dead yet. I couldn’t see myself screwing a corpse.

“I need a new sugar daddy. My old one had a stroke last week,” Risha said after the man walked away.

“Lordt,” I said. I didn’t know what else to say. I was somewhat jealous of Risha’s interesting life. She did what she wanted and how she wanted to do it. My life was tied into my job. I didn’t have a life outside of my office.

I guess me, and you have a lot in common, Brick, I thought.

I stumbled into my apartment when Risha took me home. I fell onto my couch intoxicated. I kicked my heels off and fell asleep seconds later…

  The next day…

I got off the bus and walked up the block to a coffee shop. I wanted to sober up before heading to work. Although I didn’t have much fun at the bar, it was well needed. I almost dropped my coffee and pumpkin spice muffin when I walked out Starbucks. I wanted to run for the hills when I saw Brick walking up the sidewalk. He wore a pair of jeans with a white, short-sleeve True Religion shirt. On his feet were a pair of all white Yeezys. His locs were pulled back in a ponytail, and his goatee was trimmed to perfection. He told me he was going to give me a month but only three weeks had passed.

Think, Nabila, think! I’m doomed if my big-ass run in these heels! Oh no, it’s too late. He’s only a few feet away, I thought.

“Go ahead and run. I dare you,” Brick said.

“You said a month,” I replied.

“That is true, but I’ve heard you were thinking about me,” he said.

  Arrogant, sexy asshole, I thought.

“I heard that. I also have x-ray vision. I can see your cornrows underneath your weave,” he said.

  GREAT!

“Did you come all the way from Mars to provoke me?” I asked.

“I came here to bring you something to eat. You don’t have to be at work for another hour, so it looks like we will be eating breakfast,” he said. I was mesmerized by Brick’s handsome features that I didn’t notice the brown paper bag in his hand.

“Do you know everything about my life?” I asked, and he smirked.

“Yes, unfortunately, it isn’t much to know. It’s pretty boring, but I can change that if you allow me to,” he said.

Charming—very charming, but you still can’t get to my cookie jar, I thought.

“I can get inside of your jar and eat the cookie if you want me to,” he said.

Please don’t faint! Please don’t faint! I thought.

  “I’ll catch you,” he said.

“Can you stop doing that?” I asked.

“I’ll try. Take a walk with me,” he said.

I followed him to a park a few blocks up from my job. I sat at the picnic table, and Brick sat across from me. His cologne caused my clit to throb. This creature was driving me insane, and it was mind-boggling

“Tell me about your night last night,” Brick said.

“You know about that too?” I asked.

“Yeah, I sat up last night enjoying the visual. I agree with your friend, Risha. You need some dick in your life,” he said. I choked on my bacon and egg bagel sandwich, and he reached over to pat my back. I struggled to breathe when he knocked the wind out of me. I fell off the bench and was almost paralyzed. The pain disappeared when he wrapped his arms around me.

“You hit too hard,” I said. He helped me up from off the ground.

“I gotta take it easy with you,” he said.

“No shit, moron. I almost ended up in a wheelchair,” I replied.

“It’s something about your bitchy attitude that I like. Maybe it's because I know that I’m the cure for it,” he said.

“Do you think a breakfast date will get you inside of my panties?” I asked.

“You know what I want from you, and I won’t stop until I get it,” he said.

“You are worse than human men,” I replied.

“That’s a compliment. Hurry up and eat. You have thirty-minutes left,” he said. I ate my food in silence while I tried not to have any thoughts around Brick. A bird flew on the table, and Brick whistled at it. The bird flapped its wings and chirped in response to Brick.

“Will it turn into your father or something?” I asked.

“You are full of jokes I see, but I was talking to it,” he said.

“What will happen if a human visits your planet?” I asked.

“Nothing because our planet is like Earth, and that’s why we must protect it from humans,” he replied.

“I should’ve paid attention in social studies,” I said.

“Why do you live on Earth if you don’t want humans on your planet? Is that fair?” I asked.

“Humans will terrorize my world and turn it into a science lab. They will be terrified of our existence, and consider us as a threat. I don’t want to hurt anyone if I don’t have to. I came here for peace,” he replied.

“What made you come here?” I asked.

“Enough about me. Tell me why you don’t have a human in your life,” he said.

“And you call yourself a psychic,” I replied.

“I am only one when something piques my interest. I don’t care why you are lonely, but I just want to hear it from your mouth,” Brick replied.

“I don’t like you,” I said, and he licked his lips. I squeezed my legs together because my hormones were insane, and a trickle slipped from between the slit of my pussy.

“You don’t like me, but you want me to fuck your brains out. That’s all I need from you. I actually don’t like you much neither, but something tells me that I’m going to enjoy splitting your little human pussy in half,” he said.

“Is that all you think about?” I replied.

“As of now because it's our only connection. It’s also my first step to freedom,” he said.

“You said a month, so I have one week left. You have to date me for that whole week. That’s the least you can do for me, right? I’ll feel slutty if we did it on your terms,” I said.

“You want me to do the human thing? Cheesy dates, dry-ass flowers, bullshit ass sweet talk, and tell you everything you want to hear. That’s the human way of dating, correct?” he asked.

“You’ve been heart-broken before?” I asked. He tensed up at the mention of his love life.

  “No,” he said.

“Liar! You know everything about me. So, tell me, Mr. Brick. What happened between you and her?” I asked.
