Brick: An Urban Paranormal Page 6

“I don’t care about a punk-ass human. The conversation bored me, and I only watched to see what kind of lines you fall for,” I replied.

  “Go home,” she said.

I sat down on her couch, and it collapsed.

“Your ass is too heavy for my handmade antique furniture!” she yelled at me. I stood up and looked down at the small pieces of wood.

“I will be out in my car waiting for you,” I said.

“I’m not going. You broke my damn couch,” she said.

“It's an old couch. Older than my planet. What did you expect? I didn’t mean to do it, and besides I can make you one that looks better,” I said.

“That came from London,” she said.

“No, it didn’t. That is an American made chair. Trust me I know,” I said.

“These people are taking my money,” Nabila fussed.

“Five minutes to get dressed and hurry up,” I said. I walked out of her apartment and headed back to my car. A human placed a gun to my head while I was getting in the car.

“Talk all of that tough shit now!” he said. He was one of the gang members who didn’t want to move out of my way.

“Go ahead and shoot me,” I said.

“Stop talking before you make me!” he yelled.

“Just hurry the fuck up and do it,” I replied.

He pulled the trigger, and the bullet fell on the ground. He dropped the gun and backed away from me. I jumped at him, and he ran between two buildings. I wanted to snap the punk’s neck, but I didn’t want Nabila to see it. She came out of the building with a pout on her face.

“You owe me a couch,” she said.

“You owe me some of your cookies,” I replied. She got inside of my car and slammed the door. I pulled off in silence because I knew she was mad at me. I waited for twenty-minutes before I started a conversation.

“Your boss is overworking you. You have the education and experience, but he’s underpaying you,” I said.

“I know, but I can’t find another job,” she said.

“Work for me. I’m not organized yet. It’s complicated trying to balance my life on both planets,” I said.

“You really want me to work for you?” she asked.

“I don’t like where you live, and I’m going to be your husband. You will have to obey me eventually,” I replied.

“I can’t afford to live anywhere else,” she replied.

“I’m always away from my house, so you can live there. You can sleep in another room,” I said. Nabila crossed her arms and smacked her teeth. I stared at her when I came to a red light.

“I like your hair like that. You remind me of a goddess. It shows your unique features. That other hair hid your face,” I said.

“I'm not used to the nice, Brick,” she replied with a smirk on her face.

“I figure I cut you some slack tonight,” I said.

I drove to a restaurant that sat on a pier downtown in the city. I opened the door for Nabila, and she slowly got out of the car. She didn’t trust my kind gestures, but I wanted her to be comfortable around me. I had to make our arrangement an easy one. I ordered our drinks after we were seated.

“Is this a date?” Nabila asked.

“If that’s what you want to call it,” I replied.

  “Interesting,” she said.

  “What is,” I replied.

“I think you were jealous of seeing me with a man who treated me like a lady. He was a little corny, but not once did he insult me,” she said.

“Jealous of a human who can’t offer as much as me? I’m not insecure, Nabila. I know what I’m capable of and so does your body,” I replied. She ate in silence after the food came. I listened to her thoughts, and she was thinking about what to wear the next morning.

  Human women, I thought.

The humans on Earth seemed to be very materialistic. I thought it was interesting although I didn’t quite understand it.

“The woman that we talked about the other day. Does she still want you?” Nabila asked breaking the silence.

“She wants what I can do to her,” I replied.

She sat her fork down on the plate and propped her elbows up on the table. She seemed to do that a lot when I had her full attention.

  Nosey human, I thought.

“What can you do to her?” Nabila asked.

“What I did to you in the shower, but much more intensifying. She wants me to fuck her,” I said.

“Is her vagina big? How are the immortal women made?” she asked.

“The same type of vagina, but different wombs. I was surprised at how sweet your vagina is considering your bitter attitude,” I replied. She threw her fork at me.

  “You are violent,” I teased.

“You bring out the worse in me,” she laughed.

We talked over dinner and occasionally insulted one another until we left the restaurant. She unzipped her jeans when she got inside of the car.

“Excuse my manners, but I’m stuffed,” she said.

“All you ate was a steak, potato, and broccoli,” I said.

“That’s enough for a human’s diet. What I had on my plate was too much,” she replied.

“I want you to cook for me,” I said.

  “You just ate,” she laughed.

“I burned those calories as soon as I stood up from the table,” I replied.

A few hours later, we were at my domain. The birds sang when I unlocked the door. A bird flew on Nabila’s shoulder and rested as we headed to the kitchen.

“The birds like me,” Nabila said.

“They feel at peace with you because you feel at peace with me. They won’t sing to you if you don’t like me,” I replied.

  “Interesting,” Nabila said.

I poured her a glass of wine while she rinsed off pieces of raw chicken.

“What are you doing with that?” I asked.

  “I’m frying chicken,” she said.

  “And what else?” I replied.

“Cabbage, macaroni, and cheese with cornbread,” she replied.

“Never had that before,” I said.

“Who does your grocery shopping?” She asked.

“I buy whatever I see humans buy at the store. I’m in the process of teaching myself how to cook properly,” I said.

“Gotcha, but get out of the kitchen until I’m done,” Nabila replied.

I went to my office to order a few pieces for a project I was working on. I had a client that wanted a tropical garden in the back of their house. I was almost finished with the design. I was ready to send my client an email of the layout, but my ears began to throb. It was the king calling me through a horn on Vada. I had a tiny horn planted inside of my ear when I was a baby, and it echoed when the king used his horn.

DAMN IT NOT NOW! I thought.

I could’ve ignored it, but I didn’t want any of the soldiers to be punished. I went into the kitchen, and the fumes from the food almost caused my creature to growl. It was a heavenly and unusual scent. Nabila stood at the stove singing and dancing. I stood in the doorway of the kitchen and watched her. She was a very interesting human. My eyes traveled down to her plump backside, and my dick hardened at the thought of entering her. I wanted her for freedom in the beginning, but I was becoming curious about her in more ways than one. The way she tasted reminded me of the sweetest fruit on my planet and the scent of her flower drove my creature insane. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her curvaceous hips. She moaned when I inhaled the perfume she had on her neck.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

I couldn’t reply because I was distracted by my hands. They were exploring her soft and delicate body. Her breasts reminded me of the cotton like clouds on my planet. A slight moan escaped her lips, and I pressed my erection into her backside. I turned her around and picked her up. I placed her against the cabinet and kissed her lips. She was skeptical about kissing me back, so I deepened the kiss. I massaged her backside when
she wrapped her legs around my waist. She moaned into my mouth as she kissed me back. Her fingernails dug into my scalp, and I groaned into her mouth. She overpowered my kiss, and I could no longer resist tasting her. I ripped her pants off, and she pulled my bottom lip into her mouth. Her wet pussy was pressed against my abdomen, and her nectar seeped through the material of her panties. I snatched her panties off, and the scent of her filled my nostrils. I groaned in pain because of how badly I wanted to be inside of her, but I couldn’t. The horn rang my ears again which was a warning. I had to hurry to my kingdom. I stood her up, and pulled away from her.

  “I gotta go,” I said.

  “What?” she replied.

“I’ll be back. My kingdom needs me,” I replied.

“Okay,” she said in embarrassment. She stood in the middle of the kitchen naked from the waist down. The fleshy lips between her legs were coated with her cream. I had never before wanted something more than I wanted my freedom.

“I hope you will be back in time to take me home,” Nabila said.

“You are stuck with me tonight,” I replied. I was out of the door before she could respond.

  ***********

  Planet Vada...

The floor cracked inside of the castle when I landed through the window. I stormed down the hall leaving a cracked trail on the floor behind me. I knocked down the door to the king’s domain. He sat on his throne with a smirk on his face.

“Why must you be so defensive? I see that you left a trail behind you. I’ll be sure to let your soldiers know that you were the cause behind the hard labor they’ll have tomorrow. I needed a new floor and door anyway,” Jonelius said.

“What is the emergency? I studied your new protocol before I went back to Earth,” I said. I clenched my fist to keep from bashing his head in.

“No need to glow around me. I’m not your enemy, and I didn’t call you for training. Your father isn’t as tough as he once was, but you are. You are the best soldier I have in this kingdom. I need a stronger general, so I thought maybe you could take over his leadership,” he said.

  “No, I can’t,” I said.

“You don’t have a choice. His retirement is after our next battle,” Jonelius said.

I need to hurry up with, Nabila. I will be stuck for centuries. I will lose my freedom, and marriage won’t get me out of it, I thought.

  “Can I leave?” I asked.

“I’ll see you soon… General,” Jonelius said, and I was dismissed.

I spotted Eagle and a few other soldiers as I walked down the hall. I wasn’t in the mood for small talk, so I kept walking.

“Brick! Wait up,” Eagle called out to me.

“What the fuck do you want?” I spat.

“Calm down, brother. I just wanted to speak to you about something,” he said.

“I’m not in the mood, Eagle,” I replied. He looked around to make sure nobody was listening.

“Meet me, and Odega behind the prison tower. Don’t follow me. Go another way,” Eagle said and stormed off.

I waited a few minutes before I flew to the tower. I heard the bushes moving behind me, and Odega came out of hiding.

  “My little brother,” I said.

“When can I come to Earth with you is the question,” Odega said.

“When you learn more about the humans. Have you been reading the books I brought to you? You gotta be able to fit in,” I replied.

“Sorry, I’m late. Jonelius stopped me in the hall to tell me about the floor we have to repair. Why do you keep doing this shit knowing it doesn't affect you, but us?” Eagle asked after he landed on the ground.

“We can discuss this later. I have to hurry home. What’s the reason for this meeting?” I asked. Odega pulled out a rock from behind his armor. The rock was shaped like a book and it had symbols on it.

  “What is this?” I asked.

“I don’t know, but look in the middle of it. You have the same symbols in your wings,” Odega said.

“Where did you get this from?” I replied.

“Your father gave it to Jonelius yesterday. I snuck inside of Jonelius’s room during our feast and took it. You have to figure out what it is before they realize it’s missing. We’ll all be tortured and punished,” Odega said. I studied the rock and tried to figure out what it was.

“I’ll go home, and figure it out,” I said to Odega, and he nodded his head.

“Have you been studying?” I asked Eagle.

“I’m not interested in humans. I want to leave here for another planet besides Earth,” he said.

“Dumb-ass,” Odega said, and Eagle pushed him. They wrestled each other to the ground, and I pulled them apart.

  “Stop this shit!” I gritted.

Eagle pushed Odega again, and Odega slammed his fist into Eagle’s chest.

“I will pay you back later,” Eagle said to Odega.

“I’ll be back in a few days. I need to figure out how we all can get out of this for good,” I said to them. We went our separate ways, and I felt worse than I did before. I wasn’t sure if I could save myself or anyone else at that point.

  Planet Earth...

I threw the book size rock against the wall. It meant nothing to me. I paced the middle of the floor pissed off.

“What is wrong with you?” Nabila asked.

  “Let me be,” I replied.

“I can’t with you being like this,” she replied.

“Let me be!” I yelled at her.

The chandelier in the ceiling fell to the floor, and small cracks went up the walls. A lifeless bird dropped to the floor. I didn’t fully understand my connection with the birds. They sang when I was happy and died when I was mad. Nabila placed her small hand on my stomach. I was still in combat form, and didn’t realize it until I noticed how small she seemed to be.

“After you eat dinner you will feel better,” she said. I turned into human form when she walked out of the living room. I sat down at the table naked, and it was a buffet in front of me. She sat at the other end of the table and watched me. I heard her thoughts and she didn’t think I had table manners. I placed some of the food back and she nodded her head in approval.

“What happened at your kingdom?” she asked.

“The king wants me to take my father’s place as a general,” I said.

“How does your father feel about that?” she asked.

“I didn't speak with him because he is never on my side. He isn’t for his kind,” I replied. I bit into the crisp and flavorful fried chicken she cooked.

  “This is good!” I said.

  “I know,” she replied.

I ate everything she prepared for me. Nabila stretched her arms out and yawned. I looked at the time on the stove, and it was one o’clock in the morning.

“I’ll clean this up. Go to bed, and I will see you in the morning,” I said.

“Where is your guest bedroom? I’m not going up those stairs,” she said.

“Down the hall past my office,” I replied. She got up from the chair, and I noticed she had a sheet wrapped around her waist. I almost forgot about our steamy kitchen scene before I left. I cleaned up the kitchen before I headed to my room. I laid on my bed and stared at the stars. I felt myself getting angry again because the stars tried to send me a message by flickering, but I didn’t get it. I rolled over on my stomach and my wings wrapped around me. I wanted to kill, Jonelius, but I knew my father would turn on me in his defense.

I might have to kill my father, I thought.

  Nabila

I tossed and turned all night. I couldn’t sleep knowing Brick was in the house sleeping in another room. I wrapped a sheet around my body and walked out of the guest room. I went into the living room and noticed a few books lying around. I placed them back on a stand. I saw something sticking out from underneath the couch. It was some kind of rock with a drawing in the inside. I held it up, and it looked like a star. Brick got mad and threw it because he couldn’t figure out what it was
. It looked like some kind of fossil—a fossil of a star. I tried to turn the lamp on to get a better look of the rock. I lost my footing, and the rock flew into the fire place. I began to panic as I looked for something to grab it out of the fire with.
