A Kingpin's Dream Page 11

by Briana Crosby

  I shook my head no.

“It's horrible in there; this has got to be one of the worst cases I’ve had in my twenty years of working on homicide.”

Tuning the detective out, I looked back at the kid who was oddly staring at me. I heard my phone ringing and saw that it was Ramses. I excused myself and walked over to a secluded area, whatever he wanted to talk about would have to be quick.

“Baby, I’m a little busy right now. I may be home a little late tonight because this homicide is big.”

“Persia, Luv, daddy needs you to do something for me. Can you be a good girl and do it?”

“Yes, but it'll have to be after work,” I said.

“Nah baby, it has something to do with your job and location now.”

  I grew quiet.

He sensed it, “Listen, the crime scene you’re at right now the click and I are responsible for. Don’t talk; just listen. Don’t look at any of the bodies when you go in that house. I need you to get the glove that has my fingerprints on it, and get rid of it. If they find it daddy will have to go away for a while and you don’t want that do you?”

  “No... No...” I stuttered.

“Take care of that for me baby, I love you and I’ll call you later,” he hung up.

I just stared at my phone, being with a man as powerful as Ramses was challenging. I have heard several rumors about what he and Adonis did to people who weren’t loyal, etc. Briana and I never saw those sides of our men because they never wanted us too.

Now, I was finally about to see what he was capable of. To say that I was petrified was and understatement; what if I was caught? I could go to jail for tampering with evidence. I could lose everything that I worked so hard for. But then again, I loved that man with every bone in my body. He would kill for me, he would do it for me, I was sure of that. It was time to show him that I was a down ass bitch, as he would call it. No, I wasn’t shooting guns but I was helping my baby out the best way that I could.

Making my way towards the vacant house, I found myself almost power walking, damn near running. I didn’t want anybody to find that glove before I did. I entered the house and immediately covered my nose. The stench was revolting.

Bodies were hanging from the ceiling cut up with the letter X engraved in their stomachs. Some of my co-workers had to leave the room because it was just mortifying. My Ramses, my baby couldn’t have done this, he couldn’t have.

Walking around, I slipped and fell; there was so much blood on the floor, I knew it had to have seeped through the ceiling. I now had blood all over my uniform.

“Persia, are you alright? Let me help you up,” Erica yelled. She slowly made her way to me. I stayed on the ground and looked around the room.

There it is, I thought. I saw the glove sitting underneath the rusty heater that sat up against the wall. I had to think of something quick to get Erica out of the room so I got up quickly. “I got it girl, I’m good,” I said examining my clothes.

“Are you sure? You fell pretty hard.”

“Yes, I’m fine. I can handle this room by myself if you don’t mind.”

“I don’t mind at all. Whoever committed these crimes are ruthless bastards, I hope they go to hell. I don’t care what these people did; no one deserves to die like this.”

I cracked a fake smile to keep me from hitting this bitch. Don’t talk about my man; this bitch had better shut up before she had an X on her stomach as well. I didn’t play about mine.

“Well bye now,” I said with an attitude that I hope she didn’t catch.

She looked around the room one more time and walked out. As soon as the coast was clear, I made my way over to the heater to retrieve the glove; I inspected it, put it in my pocket and texted my love to tell him that the job was done.

RAMSES: Good girl, I love you.

As I read his text, I smiled to myself. Ramses and I had been in a relationship for the past eleven months.

Once I met him in that club, it was a wrap. If you saw him, you saw me. One thing I loved about him was the fact that he didn’t sugar coat shit. He was very blunt and wasted no time on telling you how he felt. When Briana dropped me off at home after that night at the club, he showed up to my house hours later. I was still a little drunk so I let him in. I left him downstairs so that I could shower. All of a sudden, the shower curtain was pulled back and he stepped in. I never told Briana about it but when she told me that Adonis came over her house that same night, I knew that they had planned it. When he jumped in the shower with me that night, he told me that I was already his so we might as well get use to each other now. That shit alone caught me off guard because this nigga was bold but look at us now. Eleven months later and we're in love.

ME: I love you too; see you later

RAMSES: I’ll reward you with this tongue when you get home

Seeing that text made me excited, my baby gave the best head that I’ve ever had. His tongue game was lethal. Putting my phone away, I went ahead and finished inspecting the room. Once I was done, I headed outside to the truck to do a once over of my pictures and "fake" evidence that I created at the scene. They weren’t going to get my baby and I made sure of that. In one of the photos that I took of the window, I saw the little boy who was a witness. I needed to talk to him to see if he saw anything that would get Ramses or anybody else affiliated with him locked up. I got out of the truck and walked over to the detective’s car.

“Hey, it’s you again,” he said while giving me a once over.

Was he checking me out? I hope not.

“Did you have a wrestling match with the bodies up there?” he asked.

I had forgotten that I fell and my clothes were stained with blood.

“I slipped and fell. Do you still have the little boy with you? Do you mind if I spoke to him?” I said.

“Only the detectives or police officers are supposed to interview witnesses but for you I’d break that rule,” he winked at me.

I smiled and he opened the car door.

Getting in, I saw the little boy staring out the window. “How are you sweetheart?”

  He said nothing.

“My name is Persia, I just want to make sure that you're okay, I know witnessing something like this can be very traumatizing.”

He looked over at me with tears in his eyes.

“It happened so fast, I...I... didn’t see anything. I just heard gunshots and I ran behind a bush. My dad is the one on the ground right there.” he pointed to one of the bodies that had a body bag over it.

My heart sunk, I felt bad for the little guy and wanted to offer him comfort but I couldn’t. Having a job like mine you, couldn’t get attached.

“I’m happy that happened to him, he beat my mom and me. Now he can’t hurt us anymore, I think he deserved it,” he said as he stared at the body.

“If he hurt you then why are you crying sweetheart?”

  “I don’t know Ms. Persia.”

“Well did you see who shot your father? Did you happen to see anything else?”

“My daddy and I were walking and then he started running away from me when a van came up. The people in the van told me to stay where I was and not to run after my dad so I stood right there, he pointed to where I saw him earlier. Then they all get out of the van and go into that house right there, I hear POW, POW, POW like hundreds of them, then they come out and shoot my daddy.”

“You didn’t see anybody’s faces sweetheart?”

  “No Ms. Persia.”

“Well, I’m happy that you're safe now, he can’t hurt you anymore. You're the man of the house now so you take care of your mom okay?”

“He nodded his head and I got out of the car. I was relieved that the little boy didn’t see anything. Even happier that I wasn’t caught doing something that would ruin my career. I got in the CSU truck and headed back to headquarters.

“You must really love that nigga to do some shit like that Persia, love is a powerful drug,” Briana yelled over the phone
.

“Well, I know if I was in a jam he would do that for me.” The truth was, I wanted to show him how down I could be, how much of a rider I was.

The other night Ramses and I were laying down cuddling and watching Bonnie and Clyde.

“I don’t want a relationship like that; I don’t ever want my girl being in danger. If something happened to you all fifty states are getting shut the fuck down, I’m not chancing that shit. All I need is for you to be loyal to me and I’ll give you the world in return,” he whispered while kissing on my neck.

Loyalty huh, I thought, “I got you baby, we’re in this together,” I turned around and kissed him passionately. He had just gotten back from an out of town a business trip with Adonis

so we hadn’t had sex yet but my kitty was yearning for him. As soon as I kissed him, shit got heated. Snapping myself back from my thoughts, I heard Briana babbling on the phone, talking about the hospital and all of the drama that was going on.

“Girl let me call you back okay, my husband is on the other end,” I said.

  “Okay bitch, text me later.”

“You know I will, bye. Love you.”

Without waiting for a response, I clicked over, “Hello.”

“You take care of that shit for me P?”

“Yes, you left something but I got it all for you. You don’t have to worry about anything.”

“Good, that’s real good. Thanks baby, daddy got you when you get home.”

“What exactly do you have Ramses,” I said excitedly.

  “This tongue,” he stated seriously.

A slight moan escaped my mouth from sheer excitement.

“I heard that moan, I take it you’re excited.”

  “Yes, daddy I am.”

“Good, I’ll see you later, love you.”

  “I love you too.”

As soon as I disconnected the call, I smiled on the inside. It was going to be a long lustful night.

  ADONIS

Now I’m holding this meeting just to remind you of who you’re fucking with and who you’re working for. I hired you new cats because my niggas said you were looking for work.

They said all six of you mothafuckas were trust worthy. I’ve never had a nigga crazy enough to cross me. Trust me when I say that I pay close attention to who the fuck I hire. If you mothafuckas even thinking about crossing me or my brother, you better get that shit out ya fucking heads right now because you ain’t gone succeed. Now would you rather make money or die?

Adonis looked around the room at all of the new cats he and Ramses had just brought to the team. These young boys were fresh out of high school looking for work. It pained Adonis to see these young black men choosing the street life instead of college but he had done the same. If he judged them, he would be a hypocrite. They idolized Adonis and Ramses. These young men wanted to be the men that sat before them; they wanted to be near them. Adonis knew that these boys’ crossing him was the last thing on their mind. If anything, all they wanted to do was feed their families and have money left over for themselves. But now the streets were dirtier than ever, a mothafucka could rock with you one minute then despise you the next so Adonis let it be known upfront that crossing him was suicide times ten. No one spoke up when Adonis asked if they wanted to make money or die. They weren’t trying to disrespect him; they were just in awe because there were two legends standing before them.

“Do y’all mothafuckas want to make money or fucking die?” Adonis boomed.

“Make money,” they all said in unison.

“Well you’re in the right fucking organization my niggas,” he said as he lit a cigar. Now, you see these niggas behind me? They’re blood; we all shed blood together. They’re forever apart of the empire. My business has been running smooth for years so I’ll know if shit goes left. He took a toke of the cigar and blew out the smoke before he continued talking. It had to come from you lil young niggas. You fuck up; you die, in the worst way.”

I looked at all these young niggas in the eyes to let their asses know that I wasn’t

playing no type of games. These young cats were a new breed of pussy, they were hard headed, trigger-happy niggas, that didn’t think; that’s why I put them on the block. See the plan was to make them think that they were doing big shit by working for me but they weren’t.

They were the lowest on the totem pole, selling leftover shit that just sat in the back of my warehouse. While my next level niggas got rid of the good shit, they got rid of the bad shit, simple.

“Yo boss, what happens if we come up short?”

Pulling out my pistol, I knocked this nigga upside the head with the butt of my gun. “You mean to tell me you’re liable to come up short with my shit? Nigga you fucked up asking me a question like that. I exhaled and massaged my temples because the audacity of this nigga got the best of me. Let me make myself clear, I said while sitting down and leaning back in my chair,

If you fuck up or come up short, you lose a limb. I looked all of their asses straight in the eyes to let them know that I wasn’t bullshitting. You fuck up twice, you lose two, don't fuck me over, if you don’t fuck me over you don’t see Wolf. You do everything right, you see Adonis. I’m sure you niggas know the difference, meeting adjourned.”

All of the old and new workers left my office one by one. Turk, Ramses and Nino stayed behind.

“Yo nigga, you’re crazy,” Turk said while laughing his ass off.

“You cutting niggas limbs off now nigga?” Ramses chimed in.

I had to laugh myself. When I spoke business, shit just came out. I built my empire from the ground up and wasn’t letting mothafuckas bring this shit down.

“Them niggas was shook, the way you smashed dudes skull had a nigga laughing like crazy on the inside bruh,” Nino said.

I cut my eyes at him because this nigga didn’t even know that his time on this earth was slowly coming to an end. Eleven months back when he left those roses on Briana’s dresser, I kept my eye on him. I knew the handwriting was his because a couple of weeks afterwards I told him that I was sending Briana flowers up to her job. We were in my office and I had purposely started eating Cheetos.

“Aye Nino, come sign this card for me real quick. I can’t write with my hands all dirty.”

“What you want me to write on the card,” he asked.

“ Shit nigga I don’t know, Me and Briana doing a lil role play so say it’s from a secret admirer or some shit,” I said while stuffing Cheetos in my mouth.

Once he was done, I told him to leave my office. When he left, I retrieved the old note from the bouquet of flowers that was on her dresser that night and compared the handwriting to the new note that Nino had just written. BINGO, I thought. It was a perfect fucking match. Ever since then I had Turk following this bitch ass nigga. All along, this nigga had been following my fucking girl. Turk said that he even seen him go into her house, there was no forced entry so he had a key. Then he said he saw his ass come back out with Briana’s panties up to his nose. After I was informed about that shit, I immediately moved Briana in my house. Now he wouldn’t be able to get to her like he wanted to. Shit, I don’t know if it was obsession but Jimmy told me this nigga had been collecting all her panties. I had also learned that he had been meeting up with some new cats that nobody knew about. I didn’t know what this bitch niggas motive was but he had no idea that his life was about to come to an end. I wasn’t going to kill him just yet though; I would let him enjoy about a month and a half of life then dead his pussy ass.

Turk immediately stopped laughing and looked at Nino. “Nigga shut yo soft ass up, bitch ass nigga laughing at them but you wouldn’t bust a grape.”

Turk and Nino never really meshed, he always thought Nino was shady and sneaky so when I gave him the okay to follow him, he was happy as fuck because he knew he would find something. Nino was soft point blank period, he told shit when he didn’t get his way. That should have been a red flag to Ramses, but this nigga was blinded by
him being, “family.” I just hoped that shit ain’t come back to bite me in the ass before I decided to kill his ass.

Once he saw that nobody was no longer laughing at him, he decided to change the subject while mean mugging Turk. “Aye Adonis, some bitch told me that I looked like you earlier,” Nino boasted.

“Nigga that’s a muthafucking lie,” Turk said laughing.

I even had to laugh because Turk was a crazy, he was just a funny ass nigga.

“Who do you look like Turk? I bet that I can pull more bitches than you,” Nino eyed Turk angrily.

“Hold up, let me pinch my muthafucking self, I believe this nigga dreaming.”

Ramses butted in trying to calm down the situation. Even though Turk didn’t like Nino, he made fun of everybody. Nobody was safe when he was around. It seemed as though Nino took it a little too seriously.

“Y’all niggas stop that shit, you know Nino’s sensitive ass fuck.” Ramses said while winking at Turk.

“Fuck that fat nigga feelings,” Turk yelled.

“Aight niggas, now on to bigger and better shit, we were messy tonight, I slipped up and left evidence at the crime scene. I contacted Persia and she took care of that for me. Now, what if I didn’t have Persia? We would have been caught. I know we were happy to kill those niggas but I need to speak to James and Rob about the way they moved; they were too slow, especially you Nino. Next time we need to move faster. Mind you, this shit happened in broad day light; anybody could have recognized us. Just because we have some police officers on our team that don’t mean that all of them are. Best believe there are mothafuckas that want to see this organization fall and we can’t give them that. Next time we move fast so that the job is done right,” Ramses preached to Turk and Nino.

“Damn, Persia’s a ride or die ain’t she bro?” I asked Ramses while chuckling. That nigga instantly lit up when you said her name. Shit I couldn’t even lie Briana had me too. We were hood niggas in love and as crazy as that sounded to us, it was true.

“Yeah, she’s definitely a keeper but aye, I’m out niggas. I’ll get up with y’all later,” he said as he stood up giving each one of us daps.
