“The rest of the story?” She turned to him and cocked her head.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black velvet box and she stared at it, then looked up into his eyes.

“Yes. The rest of the story. Tamlyn, will you do me the honor of being my road trip partner? For life?”

She laughed took a deep breath.

  “Oh, Bradley, I’d love to.”

He slipped the ring on her finger and leaned in, kissing her lightly as he brushed her brown hair from her forehead.

His touch flooded her with warmth and she leaned into him, knowing that she would feel this way forever.

“Well, that’s settled, then,” he said, standing and pulling her up beside him.

“Are we going to go say hello to your Aunt Edna?” Tamlyn asked, pointing to the restaurant.

“No. She’s expecting us on our way back. And by the way, to be clear, I’d like you to be my wife as well as my road trip partner.”

Tamlyn grabbed his hand and squeezed it as they headed back to the jeep to start their adventure.

“Absolutely. I’m going wherever you’re going. Forever.”
