“I suppose you’re right” Jordan bent forward slightly until their foreheads were touching. “Well, then. Let me be more specific. Yes, I do want kids of my own one day. Probably sooner than later, in fact, since I’d like to be young enough to keep up with them. But I never thought I’d actually have the opportunity to have children, given that I never figured on settling down with one woman, much less getting married.”
Aubrey felt her heartbeat begin to accelerate at a rather alarming pace, and she had to force herself to take several deep, calming breaths before asking in a weak voice, “Oh? Are - are you implying that - that perhaps you might have that opportunity now?”
He grinned. “Well, darlin’, that all depends on you. Since I don’t want to start a family until I’m married, I guess that means you have to become my wife. Because if you say no, Aubrey, you’ll be depriving me of my chance to be a father. And I know you love me too much to even think of doing something so awful. Isn’t that right, baby?”
She gaped at him in stunned surprise for several seconds, unable to believe he had just proposed. But then, when she realized by the suddenly serious expression on his handsome face that he really meant it, she shrieked with delight and flung her arms around his neck.
“Oh, my God, yes!” she exclaimed excitedly. “I could never, ever think of doing something so cruel as to deprive you of that chance. And I do love you, Jordan. So much. And I want to be your wife, as well as the mother of your children, more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my entire life. So the answer is yes, yes, and yes! I will marry you. Wherever and whenever you’d like.”
She kissed him then, a kiss that went on and on, a kiss that spoke of passion and love and commitment, a kiss between two people who now knew they had been destined to find each other.
Jordan finally lifted his lips from hers, and she trembled a little at the way he was gazing at her - with so much pure love that she wanted to weep with joy. Instead she cupped his cheek in her palm, smiling when he turned his head to kiss her hand.
“As far as the when, the sooner the better,” he told her with a little wink. “And as for the where, I was thinking maybe Maui. At the Gregson resort, of course, because your sister and brother-in-law wouldn’t even consider another hotel. We probably wouldn’t be able to hold the ceremony at the exact location where I saw you emerging from the waves that very first time, but I’ll bet we could get pretty close. After all, what better place to marry the girl of my dreams than the spot where that dream became reality? And that reality has turned out to be a thousand times better, a million times happier, than any dream I ever had. It’ll break Finn’s heart just a little, but this old bachelor can’t wait to become a husband.”

I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading The Girl of His Dreams, and finally getting to meet the charming Jordan Reeves in depth after catching brief glimpses of him in some of my previous books. He was a lot of fun to write about, and I really enjoyed creating what was overall a more lighthearted story than some of my previous books. And of course I loved having the opportunity to include my very favorite fictional couple - Tessa and Ian - in this book.
