“This way you’ll have plenty of time to grow mental blocks and harness your powers.” I smiled. Her eyes sparkled and a smile spread.
“I see.” Amie jumped up. “I’ll learn all there is to what I can do. Soon I will know more than you.” She grinned leaping in my lap. “This is the best day ever!” She kissed my lips. “C’mon, Mathew, show me all the tricks! Let’s go right now.”
“What’s your hurry? You’ve got at least another eighty years before—”
Amie tugged my arm. “I want to learn everything. Let’s go right this instant.”
I followed her out into the hallway. She turned and shot me a devilish look. “Let’s practice on that cat of yours.”
