Slade Page 10

He kissed her hard before he pulled out and plunged back in.

“Hell yeah!” she screamed meeting him thrust for thrust. This, this is what she looked for when she escaped her room at night looking for someone to give her what she couldn’t give herself. This pleasure and this feeling are what she always needed.

Her hips swung of their own accord as she kept pace with Slade. He was talking to her but in a language her chip wasn’t translating. It was fast at times and soft at others. Sometimes she caught a word of English. “Glorious, beautiful, breathtaking.”

She ate every word up as she tightened her legs around his hips. Her hands worshiped his back as she met his deep pounding thrusts. Her pussy tightened against him not wanting him to leave her body. It rejoiced every time he came back.

She could do this forever, but her body had different ideas. The sweet feeling that was going to kill her swirled at the base of her spine. It was already trying to tighten her limbs. It was waiting to pounce all it needed was the perfect moment. Slade pulled out then plunged in with a swirl to his hips.

Mila screamed as her orgasm took over her body shooting up her spine and down her legs. She convulsed unable to help herself as green and silver lights went off in her head. She was flying before she was dropped into a hot spring. Slade… she held on tight needing to be with him all the way.

“Mila.” His voice was rough in her ear before a deep groan caught him. His dick kicked in her, and she felt his seed fill her up. It was a warm feeling deep inside of her that left her with a feeling of rightness.

“Yes,” she moaned in his ear. This, this is what she waited for.

Slade turned them over, so they were laying face to face before he finally moved. He came back with a washcloth that he used to clean her up. Then he got into bed pulling her close before sleep took them both.

  Chapter Fifteen

Mila opened one eye cautiously, not sure what she was expecting to find. It wasn’t Slade propped up on one arm checking her out while she slept.

  “Stalkerish much?”

“Not until I met you.” She gave him a beautiful smile then did a full body stretch. “I’ve arranged to have our purchases transported to a ship for delivery to Earth.”

“You can do that? Aliens have things delivered like it's fast food from down the street?”

“Not sure about the fast food reference, but yeah.”

Her mouth dropped open in a silent O. “It’s a good thing for you that the panties you destroyed last night weren’t my favorite.”

“I can always buy you more.”

“You can’t just throw money at panties.” She giggled, Lord, God, she giggled. Kill her now.

  He lifted a brow.

“Okay, you can throw money at them or tuck bills preferably twenties and higher in them.” She bit her bottom lip, there had to be a law that said no one could feel this good.

“Why don’t you get a shower while I get our purchases labeled, then we can have breakfast before we leave.”

“Works for me.” She reached up and pulled him down for a long kiss before rolling out of bed. With a last look over her shoulder, she went into her room where clothes were already laid out for their departure. After she turned on the water in the shower, she stood before a full-length mirror wondering if she was the same woman she had been last night. She looked the same, but some part of her had changed. Would anyone know that she was different if they couldn’t see it on the outside?

She washed going through her exercise routine in her head. She had taken her vacation off, but now she had to get back into the habit of practicing. It was easy when all she wanted to do was get rid of the big bad aka Trogon, but now she wanted to come out on the other side alive. She needed new moves.

Slade had breakfast laid out when she left her room. There was French toast, thick slices of bacon, eggs, and orange juice.

“Really, I should have met you years ago, the way you feed me is like a dream come true.” She stuck a piece of bacon in her mouth.

“You realize I ordered this, right?”

“Don’t care,” she replied before stuffing French toast in her mouth. “I know with you, we won’t have to exist on peanut butter sandwiches or McDonald’s.” He shivered in horror. She couldn’t help it; she started laughing.

  “I need a keeper.”

“I volunteer as tribute.” She stared at him. “What? You already agreed to marry me.”

“True, I did.” They ate the rest of their meal in silence as she tried to unravel the mystery named Slade.

  “Ready?”

Mila looked around committing the room one last time to her memory. She wasn’t ready. She could spend her life here and never be ready to go back. Nothing waited but confrontation and confusion. She would always be grateful to Slade for giving her this time of peace.

“I’m ready.” She took his hand as they walked to the portal station together.

  *~*~*~*

The transition was seamless, but she expected nothing less. The beauty and quiet of Paradise were left behind the minute they stepped into the house. Someone was singing upstairs. There was laughter, and she swore she heard Quinn’s voice chastising Mekhi.

They were home. She came to an abrupt stop to look at Slade. She hadn’t felt like she had a home, a real one since that day so long ago. Could this be?

  “Is everything alright.”

“Yeah, just the transition from serenity to…”

“Did I hear my name?” Serenity called out.

“To that.” She waved her hand at the floor above them.

“That’s why our rooms are soundproofed.”

“Really?” Didn’t that give her ideas? “Let’s go face the masses.” Slade followed her up the stairs. She looked back quickly to realize he was looking at her ass. Her heart flipped. What do I have to do to keep the only male who ever made me feel this way? She didn’t know, but she’d do anything short of selling her soul.

“I told you they were back,” Serenity said when Mila and Slade came from the basement. She took another sip of her coffee and flashed Quinn a smile.

“Did I hear you say Mila’s back, I should get her a cup of coffee?” Mila asked.

“Nope,” Serenity told her. “I will point you in the direction of our high-tech espresso machine. There is also a Keurig for those of us without a sophisticated palate.” Serenity gave Quinn a glare.

“Since we’re sisters, I’m sure your palate is as unsophisticated as mine. I’ve got caramel coffee from Starbucks.” She waved the K-cup around.

“Please don’t tell Serenity but before I came here, I was drinking instant.”

Serenity groaned in pain. Mila and Quinn laughed throwing her devilish looks over their shoulders.

Phoenix walked in with Rylee after Mila and Quinn sat with their coffee.

“Glad your back, I just got a call from Aran. He’s coming over for dinner tonight,” Phoenix told Slade.

  “Why?”

“I don’t know, he said it needed to be tonight. I gave him the go ahead. He knows you’re not home.”

  “That didn’t stop him?”

“He said, he will be then hung up. Looks like he was right.”

“We’ll find out what it’s all about tonight.” Slade took a seat next to Mila. When she turned around to lay her head against his arm, the breath he was holding released.

“I visited a planet called Paradise. You have to go, it was amazing, relaxing. I’m sure it’s one of the natural wonders of the universe.”

“Well that’s high praise, I want to visit,” Serenity told her. “Actually, I think all of us could use a vacation.”

“If everyone takes a vacation together, is it really a vacation?” Mila asked.

“It’s a family vacay you can’t beat that,” Rylee told her.

Mila wanted to tell them to count her in, but she couldn’t make any plans. She looked over to catch Me’akal's eyes. He was standing in the corner watching her.
The look on his face told her that time was coming to an end. The only question she had was would she come to an end with it. She raised a brow, but he frowned and lowered his eyes. There would be no help from him.

“Mila we should practice,” Me’akal told her.

“I know, let me change clothes, and then I’ll meet you outside.”

“Will it distract you if I’m there?” Slade asked her.

She shook her head no. “I need to be able to fight no matter the distraction. Remember you’re the one I’m protecting.”

“Created, I’m capable of protecting myself.”

“Obviously not.” She jumped up and placed the cup in the sink. She ran past Slade laughing as he chased after her.

“Do you think we freaked them out?” she asked in the elevator.

“They had two weeks to get used to it. They’ll be fine.”

That made sense to her. “Your twin is coming for dinner. Does that happen a lot?”

“No. The first real contact I had with him was when we asked him to watch the kids.”

“Night out?” She knew she was digging, but all she knew about him was the intimate things they shared on Paradise. Now she wanted to know all of him from his childhood on up.

“Long story, it involved a half-alien snake and a different planet. Oh, there was the zoo and a doctor.”

“Maybe you can tell me that one in small doses. I tried to check out when you said snake.”

“The snake was about the size of a dinosaur.” He ran a finger lightly down her neck.

“You’re evil Slade!” She ran off the elevator his laughter following her. “Laugh it up now. Soon enough you’ll be saying Mila come help me fight off the pestilence. I need your super badass skills to save me!”

  “The pestilence?”

“Hmph you heard me,” she called from across the room.

Slade smothered a smile as he got glimpses of the woman who broke into the house riding on a high horse name deliverance.

“I will call you immediately the minute I find a pestilence.” He changed into joggers and a tee.

She came out wearing yoga pants and tee. “I can fight in anything, but I prefer something that moves with my body.” They entered the elevator both thinking of the fight to come.

“I hope you got a chance to rest,” Me’akal told her. They were in a building set away from the house. It was where the created came to work out or let off steam in private.

“I did. It was amazing, Me’akal.”

“Good, mirror me.” She stood with her feet together, and her hands press like she was praying. Her head was bowed, but her spine and legs were straight. She mirrored every move as Me’akal led her through a warm-up. The two weeks she took off didn’t slow her down. Her muscles remembered every move and delighted in being stretched out.

He came at her with a kick; she barely blocked.

“The enemy will not wait for you to find your Zen, Mila. You must always be prepared.”

“Preparedness must be the cornerstone of all I do.” She parroted back at him as she went on the attack.

“You’re lighter than me, shorter than me. Will an all-out attack work on me?”

“No, even if I catch you unawares unless I have something deadlier than my body you will react and defend yourself before attacking me.” She fainted and fell back looking for a weakness.

“Then how will you defeat me?”

“I’m looking for a weakness. One that will not be obvious. The ones you are showing me are a lure. You want to trap me. There is something, there is always something no man is a machine.”

“There are cyborgs, but you won’t be fighting one of them.”

She fought silently her breath coming out in pants as she looked for one small opening in his defense.

“I’m never going to give you an opening Mila. You have to make it and then take it. If not, I’ll wear you down until you’re too tired to fight.”

She knew that, logically, in her head. Still, she found herself waiting for the one right moment to swoop in and become the hero in her own story.

“Me’akal why don’t you fight someone your own size,” Slade called from the corner where he had been warming up.

“Time,” Me’akal called. Mila dropped to the floor needing to breathe. “Watch and learn.”

She moved to the side allowing Slade to take her position. They bowed to each other formally agreeing it was sparring and not to the death. Then without warning Me’akal attacked.

Slade retreated until Me’akal was in close. He charged a rumble coming from his mouth. Now Me’akal was retreating. They struck at each other like two king cobras hissing then attacking before retreating. Slade got in a punch to the stomach. Me’akal swept Slade’s feet from under him. He was up before Me’akal could land a kick.

They fought back and forth neither waiting for the other one to show where they may be hurting. It looked like instinct, but she knew it came from brutal hours of training as well as war.

Me’akal called time. They both bowed to one another showing their respect.

“What if I can’t defeat him?” She asked, her voice had that forlorn quality to it that spoke of defeat before the battle.

“You won’t, as long as you insist that the battle belongs to you. You have to accept help Mila. When your girls go to war, do you think they do it by themselves?” Me’akal knew about the women she kept on her mirror.

This wasn’t the first time he gave her this speech. It was just the first time she was listening. She was sure it had to be her. That she was the savior of the world, but he was right. No one person could do it alone.

“Let’s say I believe you. How am I supposed to risk other lives to fight this evil?”

“What will happen if you fail?”

  “They will die.”

“Then ask yourself would they rather die fighting for freedom or die in slavery.” Me’akal gave her one last bow to signal the end of training. He left her alone on the ground thinking about his words.

She turned to look at Slade.

“Don’t ask me I was created to fight. I can tell you this I’ve watched my brothers’ mates fight even if it meant death. Like you, none of them is willing to wait for the end to find them.”

She nodded. “Would you like to hear a secret?”

  “Yes.”

“I wish I could see my sister one last time. I want her to know I’m alive, and that I miss her.”

  “We can look her up.”

“I can’t. I agreed to never get into contact with her.”

  Chapter Sixteen

Slade followed Mila into her room. He picked up the bags she hadn’t had a chance to unpack from her mall trip and walked out.

“Where are you taking those to?”

“Our room,” he called over his shoulder.

She sank against the side of the bed. Guess that answers that unasked question. She would sleep with him. They were a thing. Was it a forever thing or a scratch my itch thing? She wasn’t sure despite the marriage proposal. Marriage meant nothing if she was dead. Maybe he was just being polite since he knew he didn’t have to follow through.

Then why did he take her to Paradise? He wanted the goods a cynical part of her brain answered. This is what spending years alone did, you talked to yourself. What’s worse is that your emotions took on personalities and talked to you. Honestly, she wasn’t sure she shouldn’t be committed. Not that she was planning on volunteering.

“Well, I don’t know about you, but I need a shower. She sauntered into his room with a towel and her bath caddy in her hands before she entered his bathroom. She thought her bathroom was elegant; his was decadent. The shower was large enough to throw a race in. The tub had to be a small pool.

Who needed Paradise when they had a bathroom like this? Taking a shower made more sense that’s why she leaned over the tub and turned the water on.

“A little thing like you could get lost in that big tub all alone.

It took everything she had to turn her smile into a frown. Think sad! She turned mournful eyes on him. “Why I do believe you gave my poor heart a scare.” She was channeling her best Scarlett O’Hara.

“Now ma’am all I meant to say was that someone as small and as perfect as you shouldn’t be in a tub alone. Why that’s a waste of water and time.”

His southern accent was worse than hers, but if that was his Rhett Butler, she was buying into it.

“Maybe you should join me; I don’t want to do anything that might get me hurt.” She batted her eyelashes and pursed her lips and choked back a laugh.

“Yes ma’am, I think you need a big strong male to keep you safe. The current in yonder pool seems mighty swift.”

She couldn’t do it, she tried. A laugh broke through that made tears leak from her eyes.

  “Yonder pool?”

“I only saw the movie once and have no desire for a second showing.”

“Don’t feel bad I never made it all the way through. It had something to do with how black people were portrayed. A part of my history that still hits too close to home. I loved the accent though. You sounded so much better than the original Rhett Butler.”

“Well ma’am he was only human what you need is an alien.”

“Damn straight.” She rose on her toes. Slade took her in a kiss that made her heart beat fast and her breath stop for a minute. “They teach you how to kiss like this in alien school?”

“Yes, ma’am. They said we needed to be well rounded.”

Her hand slid down to the front of his joggers where his erection met her eagerly. “I don’t think they had anything to be worried about.”

He pulled her shirt up waiting for her arms to rise, then pulled it over her head.

He sucked a nipple into his mouth through her bra while his hands went to the clasp on her back.

“Slade, what you do to me.” She held his head close as she stroked her fingers through his hair massaging his scalp.

He stepped back before peeling her bra off.
