I can honestly say being a writer was never something I pictured myself doing, let alone enjoying. I love to people watch and, if I spend long enough doing it, I will make up little stories, trying to imagine what’s going on in their life. Once I discovered this passion I didn’t know I possessed, the story took off and I was lead through a whirlwind journey.

Writing became my dirty little secret over the last year and I only shared this with a handful of people. I would like to thank those people for respecting my need for privacy by keeping my secret . Those I didn’t tell, please don’t be mad. I just wasn’t ready to put my business out there yet.

First and foremost, I want to thank my husband. From the moment I told you I wrote a book, you’ve given me nothing except support and you were ready to embrace my crazy fantasy of becoming a published author.

To my son, you are the reason I live and breathe on a daily basis. You are an amazing little boy, mommy loves you.

To my sister, Cindi, who inspired me to sit down and write one day then stood in my corner through all the ups and downs of the process. Thank you for reading everything I’ve thrown your way, even when you were busy with your own life.

Of course, thank you to my few friends who were in on my little secret. You had the pleasure of listening to me work through the story and, at times, listened to more rambling than normally allowed in one sitting.

I couldn’t have successfully finished this book without the wonderful people I’ve met in the industry. Kristin Campbell and Alizon Duckwall of C&D Editing, thank you so much for believing in me. You gave me the encouraging words I needed to keep pounding away at the keyboard. Both of you went above and beyond providing me with great feedback , but also gave me much needed advice as a new author. I definitely could not have done this without you.

Then there’s Sarah Janis, my new Brazilian friend and the woman responsible for the breathtaking cover. Thanks for taking the time to read the rough version of my manuscript and all the hard work creating my beautiful cover. My book has received so much attention just from the cover alone.

I’m so glad everyone loved Darcie and Reggie’s story and I look forward to creating many more. Thank you!
