As soon as Seph’s son had been born, Charon claimed his long deserved vacation so Seph currently played the ferryman. Not a bad gig, though it was boring as hell. Deep down Seph had always embraced his darker side and loved taking the damned to their final destination. It fed his inner evil.
Eva looked up and smiled. The curve of her lips always lifted his spirits. He loved this woman more than even he thought was ever possible.
“He’s sound asleep.” She stood and walked to his crib, tucking him in next to a stuffed bear. Joseph was growing so fast, he was already three times bigger than his favorite stuffed toy given to him by his godfather, Tegan.
“Shall we?” Eva slipped her arms around Seph’s waist. “You’ve been gone a long time.”
He’d pulled a full two weeks in Hell, but things had slowed a little so he was able to sneak home for a bit. Hopefully, at least long enough to lose himself with his mate. Even though Logan had given Eva the ability to enter Hell’s realm on her own, Seph insisted they make a home in the human world until he was sure of Lucifer’s whereabouts. At least here, both angel and demon could remain watchful of his mate and son.
Eva pulled him from his thoughts with a squeeze to his cock, which pressed painfully against his jeans.
“Impatient?” he asked.
“I’ve missed you.” She led him away from their son’s room and down the hall to their own. “How long do I have you for?” She pulled him through the open doorway.
“At least a few hours before I need to go back.”
Her mouth turned down. “I hate when we’re apart.”
He started with the top button on her blouse and began to reveal her cleavage. “I know, but it must be this way for now.”
A glint of something naughty flamed in her eyes. “Then stop screwing around with the damn buttons and get down to business. You have two weeks to make up for.”
It was all the encouragement he needed. He gripped the front of her blouse and pulled. Buttons scattered across the wooden floor, and he stared at her breasts encased in a red bra. He hoped she wasn’t too attached to it as he tore the fabric that held it together and finally revealed his prize.
