Distant Myles Page 10

by Mae, Mandee

I hoped that reading would help calm me down, but all it did was make me horny. I love reading romance novels. I’m actually addicted to them and the evidence is in how many books I have on my Kindle. I have close to 300 books and short stories — and yes, I have read every single one of them. Some I’ve read more than once, mind you. Jamie says I’m crazy, but I totally disagree with her. I just like to read.

“Amelia!” I hear Jamie yell when she comes through the door. I better go see what she wants.

“Back so soon. Did you find everything okay?” Asking her while plopping my behind in a chair.

“Yeah, I found everything. I just wanted to get out of there.” Jamie says while putting things away.

  “Why, what happened?”

“Well, there was this guy there watching me. It was weird. Do you ever get the feeling that you know someone even though you know you’ve never met? Well, he seemed familiar, but he didn’t. Everywhere I turned, he was there. He didn’t say anything to me, he just watched me.” She has turned towards me now, telling me this with a weird, confused look on her face.

“That’s strange. I’m glad you got out of there. I wonder who he was.”

“I don’t know who he was. It freaked me out, so I just got what I needed and left. Anyway, everything is put up. I going to go take a shower before the guys show up. Do you need anything first?”

“No. I’m going to read a bit more and then jump in after a bit. Go, take your shower. I’ll be fine.”

Jamie heads down the hall towards her bedroom to take her shower and I head back to my room to get back to where I left off in the book I’m reading. There’s a sex scene coming up, and I don’t want to miss it. Sometimes you just want to yell at them ‘just fuck already.’

I’m lost in the book when Jamie comes into my room. She must realize I am ready something dirty with that grin on her face.

“What are you reading? It must be good, because your face is flushed and you’re chewing on your finger.”

“Uh, yeah, it’s pretty good. Sometimes I wish I could just jump into the book and become the character. God, some of this shit is really hot.” I’m fanning myself now. I have got to calm down before Myles gets here.

“Just wanted to let you know I’m done with my shower if you wanted to jump in. The guys will be here in an hour,” she states as she plucks my Kindle out of my hands.

“Okay, I get it. I’ll go get in the shower.” I get off the bed and head into the bathroom to take my shower before the guys show up. Maybe I should take a cold shower instead.

  Chapter Twenty-seven

  Myles

I’m making progress, slowly, but surely. I can’t expect her to forgive me for what I did and how I treated her overnight. I know I have to earn it. Caleb called to make sure I was coming tonight and to give me shit about Amelia. He was brutally honest, which I know I deserved. If I want to convince her to move here with me, I need to step it up.

There are so many things I want to do for her to show her how serious I am about this, yet at the same time, I don’t want to scare her off. Shit! There is only a few hours to go until we have dinner. I need to get the rest of my plan together, and fast. I don’t want to lose her. I will do whatever it takes.

Sitting on my couch, I’m lost in my own thoughts and it barely registers when the clock chimes. Fuck! I look at the clock and realize it’s quarter 'til six. I have just enough time to get in the shower before I have to head out. She said around six, but I don’t want to be much later than that.

I run up the stairs, taking two at a time, shedding my clothes. I have everything off by the time I reach the shower door and turn on the water. Holy shit, that’s cold. It doesn’t take long for the water to warm up, not that it matters, because by the time it finally does get as hot as I like it, I’m done and jump out to dry off. Throwing on some clean clothes, I head back downstairs, grab my keys, and then I’m out the door. I have just enough time to stop by the store and grab some beer.

By the time I make it to Amelia and Jamie’s, its ten after six. Not too bad. I turn off the engine and make my way to the door. Caleb opens the door just as I raise my hand to knock.

“Hey, man. Glad you could make it.” He says, stepping out of the way so I can go on in.

“Yeah, me too. I’m just glad she invited me over again.”

“Yep, I’m sure you are. I’d leave your phone turned off if I were you,” Caleb says with a shitty grin on his face.

“I’ve done even better. I left it in the car. No distractions tonight.” And I did. I left my phone in my car. I don’t want to risk anything else happening.

“Hi, Myles. We’re in the kitchen if you want to come on back. You and Caleb can start the grill,” Jamie says as she walks up to Caleb, giving him a kiss that would have been more appropriate in a private setting.

“Okay, I’ll just go to the kitchen. You guys come on back when you’re done.” I’m off to the kitchen. I don’t want to see that. I want to see Amelia. As I round the corner, in search of her and the fridge, I find her sitting at the table with her Kindle in her hand, reading. She must not have heard me come in or there is something really good in that book. Making my way to the refrigerator, I toss my beer inside, then shut the door. I turn towards her and just stand there and watch her. She must sense that I’m in the room, because when she looks up and sees me her face gets all red. Yep, there was something really good in that book.

“Myles, I didn’t realize you were here yet.” The flush is moving down her face to her neck now.

“That must be one really good book for you to have that look on your face.” I try not to laugh, but I can’t hold it any longer.

“I…uh…yeah. I’ll just go put this back in my room. I’ll be back in a second.”

“You don’t have to stop reading if you don’t want to. It looks like you’re really enjoying whatever it is.”

“I’ll be right back.” She gets up from the table and heads down the hall to her room.

She has on a nice sun dress, but I don’t think she is wearing a bra from the way her breasts are swaying back and forth when she walks. Thinking she doesn’t have a bra or panties on is making my blood head south. I have to adjust myself a little before she gets back. I don’t want her to see that I have an erection after only being here for five minutes. It’s going to be a long night. She’s back in only a minute or two and she still has that flushed look. That must have been some book.

“You look better today. The redness is starting to lessen, but I can see some blisters now.” She really does look better. There aren’t as many blisters as I thought there would be.

“Yeah, some of the redness is gone. There are plenty of blisters, but it’s getting better. As much as I hate getting burnt, I love it when I peel. Twisted huh.” She says laughing a little.

“You like to peel the skin off?” Did she really just say that?

“Um, yeah. I know, it’s weird. It’s not like I get off on it or anything, I just think it’s cool. I like to see how big of a piece I can get before it tears.” Okay, she really did just say that.

I honestly don’t know what to say to that. She likes to peel people after they’ve been burnt. That is weird.

Jamie and Caleb make their way back into the kitchen. I could ask what they have been up to, but by the way Jamie looks, I don’t need to ask. Neither does Amelia. It’s written all over their faces. I laugh and turn away.

“Okay, let’s get the grill going. All of a sudden, I’m very hungry,” Jamie says while reaching into the refrigerator to grab the steaks.

Caleb and I head out to the deck to start the grill. I just shake my head and laugh some more.

“What?” Caleb is smiling at me now.

“Nothing. It looks like you have this under control. I’m going to go back inside and talk with Amelia. I’ll send Jamie out here to you. Just make sure you keep your eye on the food, okay? We do want to eat tonight.”

  “I got it. Don
t worry. Go talk to Amelia, and yes, send Jamie out here. I could talk to her again.” He’s laughing as I make my way back inside.

“Hey Jamie. Caleb wants you to go outside with him so he can talk to you again.” I’m watching her face while I tell her this and I think her face just got as red as Amelia’s. Without saying a word, she gets up from the table, grabs the steaks, and makes her way out the door to Caleb.

“What was that about?” Amelia is asking me, glancing back and forth between me and Jamie.

“Caleb just said that he wanted to talk to Jamie some more and asked if I could send her out.”

  “Uh…sure. Jamie doesn’t talk Myles.”

“That’s all I’m at liberty to say right now.” She’s waiting to see if I will tell her what’s really going on out there, but I don’t elaborate.

“Well, I hope they don’t burn our steaks while they talk or I will be pissed.”

“I’m sure Caleb can handle it. Do you want to go sit on the couch with me so we can talk?” I ask her, wiggling my eyebrows in the process.

She gets up from the table and heads towards the living room without saying a word, so I follow. She’s moving a lot better today. I can’t help but notice the way she sways her hips back and forth while she walks. Yep, the night just got a little longer.

We sit down on the couch facing each other, on opposite ends, and just look at each other. I hate having her on the other end, so I move to the middle cushion and sit right in front of her. Her eyes go wide for a brief moment until she realizes that I am just going to sit there and watch her. And that’s all I do. I just sit and watch her, looking into her eyes, watching her chest rise and fall. I can’t do what I really want to do, which is to rip that dress off and fuck her against the nearest wall. That will have to wait.

“What just went through your head, Myles?” Shit. I can’t tell her what I was really thinking.

  “Why?”

“Because you just had this odd look in your eyes for a moment and then it was gone. What were you thinking about?” Man, she’s observant.

“Do you really want to know what I was thinking, Amelia?”

“Yes. I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to know.”

“Honestly, I was thinking that all I want to do right now is rip that dress off and fuck you against the nearest wall.” I watch her face to see how she is going to react. I can see her eyes dilate, so I know that statement had some effect on her.

  “Oh.”

“Yeah, oh. I’m trying to be good and be a gentleman because I know you’re still hurting, not only from the sunburn, but from what I did. But, it’s becoming increasingly harder the more I look at you.” Yeah, hard doesn’t even come close to describing what’s going on with my dick.

She glances down to see if I really do have an erection and then her eyes shoot back to mine. Her lips turn into a slight smile. “Well, um…” She is so cute when she’s at a loss for words.

“Don’t worry, I didn’t come here tonight to get you to have sex with me. I came to spend time with you. Even if all we do is sit on this couch and not say a single word, that’s still fine with me. That’s all I want.” She seems to relax a little when I say this, which is good.

“Steaks are done!” Caleb yells, coming back into the kitchen from outside. Jamie is shutting the door behind him.

“Okay, we’ll be there in a minute.” Amelia yells back.

We just sit there for a few more minutes watching each other, not saying anything. I don’t think anything needs to be said actually.

“Amelia…Myles, come on. The meat is going to get cold.” Jamie yells again.

I stand up and offer Amelia my hand to help her off the couch, making our way to the kitchen to have dinner. Everything is already set out, so we find out seats and dig in.

  Chapter Twenty-eight

  Amelia

Dinner went good. The conversation flowed freely and so did the alcohol. Everyone is feeling pretty good right now. Caleb and Jamie took off to her room, which leaves Myles and me sitting in the living room. We are just staring at each other again. I should have left the alcohol alone. It has a tendency to make me horny, and considering I was that way before Myles showed up, before the alcohol, it’s even worse now. He said he didn’t come here this evening to have sex with me, but I wonder if I can change his mind. I’m still a little pissed at him, but a girl has needs, right.

My body is telling me one thing, but the yawn that escapes my mouth is telling him something completely different.

“Come on, Amelia. I’ll tuck you in and then I’m going to take off. You need to rest.” He says linking his fingers with mine, pulling me up off the couch. We walk down the hall towards my bedroom.

“Sleep wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, Myles.” He stops as soon as that leaves my mouth.

“Amelia. I told you I didn’t come tonight to have sex with you, but you can’t just say things like that and expect me not to respond to them.”

I’m a little wobbly now and raise my hand and place it on his cheek. “See, but I want you to respond to them. I’m so horny I can’t see straight.” Did I really just say that? I must have drank more than I thought.

Laughing he says, “I think it’s the alcohol that is making you not see straight.”

“Yeah, maybe. But see, ever since you said you wanted to fuck me up against the wall, I can’t seem to get that image out of my head.”

“Come on. You’re going to bed. I’m not going to take advantage of you while you’re intoxicated. I don’t want you to regret it tomorrow.”

“Damn. Myles, come on. Please, just do it. You know you want to.” I’m trying really hard to sound sexy, but I know the words that just left my mouth sound a bit slurred.

“Tell you what, let’s go get your pajamas on and climb into bed. I will lay down beside you until you fall asleep.” Is he really turning me down? What does a girl have to do to get laid around here?

“Fine. If you don’t want to fuck me then just go. I can get into bed by myself.” I yank my dress over my head and then realize that we are still standing in the hallway. I turn and walk the short distance to my bedroom, heading straight to the bed. I hear footsteps behind me and realize that Myles has followed me into the room, shutting the door once he is inside. I crawl into bed and tuck myself in, wrapping the blankets around me as a barrier. Against what, I don’t know. It just feels safer.

“Amelia, come on. Just try to get some sleep. We’ll talk more tomorrow.” I feel Myles climb into bed. He’s lying on top of the covers for God’s sake. Does he think I’m going to molest him in the middle of the night or something? Jesus.

I roll over with my back to Myles without saying a word. He knows I am pissed at him, but right now, I don’t give a shit. I try to relax by taking a couple of deep breaths. It doesn’t take long before my eyes start to feel heavy and I drift off into a deep sleep.

I try to roll over and I can’t move. I try to pry open my eyes, but they aren’t being very cooperative this morning. At least I think it’s morning. I am able to pull my arm out from under the covers and feel why I can’t move. There’s an arm draped over my stomach, holding me securely. Oh, God. The things I did and said last night start to bombard my memory.

“Good morning, baby.” Yep, he’s awake. Shit!

“Uh, good morning,” is about all I can get out of my mouth.

“What’s wrong? Why did you just tense up?” Does he really need to ask that question?

“Myles, I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to be honest with me, okay?”

“Sure, shoot.” His eyes are still closed, but it still feels like he is watching me.

“Did I beg you to fuck me last night?” I am horrified even more now that I actually asked that question.

He starts chuckling a little “Yes, you did and before the other question comes out of that mouth, no I didn’t. I told you I didn’t come over here for that and I meant it. Although, you did make it r
ather tempting walking down the hall buck ass naked. It took all my will power not to fuck you up against the wall and every other surface between here and the living room.”

“Oh God. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what got into me.”

“Oh, I know what got into you. It was all the alcohol you drank. You’re quite verbal when you drink. Did you know that? I’ll have to keep that in mind.” He’s still laughing. “Amelia, don’t worry about it. I’m not.”

“You must think I really am a slut now. The way I begged you to fuck me. God, I’m never going to live this down, am I?”

He raises himself up on his elbow and turns my face so I can see him, now that I am able to open my eyes. “I’m the only one that saw you walking down the hall naked. I’m the only one that heard you begging me to fuck you. Jamie doesn’t know and neither does Caleb. They were too busy fucking each other. I don’t plan on telling them. What happens between us is our business and no one else’s.” He states this rather firmly.

I say the only thing that I can say, “Thank you.”

A smile spreads across his face “Oh, don’t thank me just yet.” He says lifting the covers and sliding them over his head.

“Myles, what are you doing?” It only takes about 2.5 seconds before I realize what he is doing. I can feel his hot breath on me.

“Myles, don’t. I need to take a shower. Oh, God. Myles, please.”

“Please what, Amelia. Please stop or please don’t stop?” He asks while flicking his tongue over my clit.

I’m so glad he told me no last night. “Please, don’t stop. I need this.”

“Good, because I hadn’t planned on it anyway.” He runs his tongue in one long stroke the length of my pussy. “You taste delicious.” Then I feel him rub his nose along my outer lips, inhaling deep, “and you smell like heaven.”
