“No, leave him alone.” Diego had both her hands now and his voice was stern.

Star suddenly burst into tears, something she didn’t like to do, but she couldn’t help it. “I don’t want him to be alone! He has to be so confused by all this. Hell, I’m confused by part of it.”

“Me too, Bonita. I didn’t expect it either and I know you can feel that.”

She sniffed and he put his arms around her.

“Will it be so bad being mated to me?” he asked, his warm breath tickling her ear pleasantly.

She shook her head knowing he needed comforting too. “You know better than that, Diego. I’m just worried about Chad. Who knows? What if he kills himself?”

Diego laughed and Star stopped crying, knowing the absurdity of her fear. “Star, he feels the truth of our words. I know you can sense that too. He just needs time to digest everything he’s learned and to come to peace with it. Certainly you know that Chad is a very strong soul who will live out his nine hundred years in this world.”

She felt her breathing quieting a little. “I love him, that’s all. I feel awful that he thinks I betrayed him. It’s not true.”

Diego’s face softened and he wrapped one of her braids around his fingers. “I know sweetness. But don’t you fret. He’ll come to his senses quickly because, in his subconscious, he had this knowledge. I’m his guardian angel and if he’s ever in danger, I will feel it and he’s fine. Tell me, mi amor, does a little of your love extend to me now?”

Star tingled in his arms. She wasn’t surprised to find she was falling in love with him. It was the magic of the triad bond. He stared down at her with bold, black eyes and eyelashes so long she thought they might caress her face. She melted against him, wanting to kiss him.

“The magic is letting me see the magnificence inside your soul,” Star admitted. “You are beautiful inside and out. How could I not be falling in love with you?” His smile made her heart leap. “The question goes both ways. Do you love me enough to just make love to me and nobody else? You kind of don’t have a choice anymore, do you? So…do you love me?”

He nodded and took her hand bringing it to his steel hard cock. “Si. Te quiero. I love you. And what’s more I want you,” he said.

She wrapped her hand around his thick, hot, dick and looked down at him filling her hand. Gods of Venus, he was big. He was almost as long as Chad and thicker. Angry purple and blue veins pulsed through his manhood, his arrow, she thought, with a secret smile, thinking of his archer symbol. Maybe he had a little cupid in him. As she watched it, fascinated, Diego lifted her in his arms and laid her on the bed. She let out a needy sigh as she lay back against the rumpled sheets that still carried the sexual scent and aura of their midnight tryst. This was right and she and Diego needed to reinforce their bond. Then Diego threw one arm and leg over her body stopping her thoughts, and she arched into his lean, rock solid muscles.

He gazed down at her. ‘Shut your eyes, princesa.”

“I love when you use Spanish words,” she murmured, a thrill coursing through her.

“I’ve said them only to you. My long ago Spanish human heritage is special to me and so are you. Now, please, shut your beautiful brown eyes.”

  “You’re part human?”

“Yes, part. I have relatives from Mexico who have no idea I’m mostly Venusian.” He smiled, gently. “Right now, though, I have other things on my mind.”

Star saw the glittering intent in his white-hot gaze an instant before she obeyed him and closed her eyes. It made everything more intense. She could feel her breathing quicken and felt her heart pounding. He meant to make her his in every possible way. She just knew it.

Diego was so close to her, pressing her into the mattress. His hotness engulfed her as if he wanted to imprint himself on every inch of her. Warm, wet heat enveloped her nipple as he sucked the aching peak into his hot mouth. She let out a long breath as tingles started shooting through her body. The next thing she knew, his velvety tongue assaulted the tip, making both her breasts tighten hard. She cried out. His tongue and lips were magic, making her weak all over.

“Oh, Diego,” she heard herself whispering.

He lifted his head and she whimpered, sad that his mouth had left her, but she could still feel his heavy, hot breath over her flaming nub. “Like that, did you?” he asked, in a crooning voice.

Before she could answer, he had placed his mouth over her other nipple and was sucking hard on it, much like she imagined a baby did, and his clever fingers gentled her other nipple, tugging on it with playful softness, then suddenly squeezing hard. The pain was pleasure and she cried out as her body stiffened, fresh icy hot tingles racing throughout her. Her pussy pulsed and dripped her nectar as she arched her mound against his cock, wanting more, craving his touch. “Please, Diego,” she begged.

“I please,” he answered, and then his mouth became even more urgent as he sucked at her harder, and switched breasts, nipping and pulling her nubs as Star writhed with pleasure; ecstasy. She was ready to come and he must have known it because he said, “Not yet. You come when I say so or this is over.”

Star certainly didn’t want this to be over. Still, she was feeling pretty desperate inside. “Jerk!” she said. “I really hope you have more respect for me as time goes on…”

He rolled off her and picked her up in a flash, sitting on the edge of the bed and draping her over his lap. She let out a shocked gasp as she guessed what was coming. “Never say I don’t have respect for you again.” His big, warm hand spanked her ass with a tight slap and she let out a shriek. Gods of Venus, the spanking shook every cell in her being and her already sensitive body turned to flames as her pussy overflowed with nectar. He spanked her harder and with each sharp smack she had to grit her teeth in order not to come. No way she wanted him to stop now. She had to hold it in. He slapped her hard again, so hard it stung, and tears ran down her cheeks as the vibrations traveled through her ass to her engorged clit. “Oh, this is paradise!” she wailed.

He abruptly stopped and laid her on her back again. By now her breasts, ass and clit were throbbing. “Open your eyes princesa.” He straddled over her and looked into her misty eyes. Their gazes met and connected and Star melted like butter, feeling the love for him that she also felt for Chad. She felt a wave of pure ecstasy and contentment. She would have two men that she loved like hell and she was the luckiest love goddess in the universe.

Diego mumbled something in Spanish to her, soft and sweet, then he leaned in to kiss her, wrapping his arms around her and rolling them to their sides. She returned his passionate kiss, their tongues sparring as she also pressed into him hard. Gods, she was trembling, moaning, reveling in the way that his rock solid dick rubbed up and down her weeping slit. Would he take her already, damn it?

His hand slid down to her ass and she gasped and cried out, when he stuck a finger into her tight sphincter, wiggling it. Her head flew back as she yelled his name. He chuckled wickedly. She tried to thrash her legs but his were over hers again, holding them in place. Tears continued to roll down her cheeks as Diego kissed her, and then whispered into her ear, “I’m happy that you’re ours. As soon as I looked at you, I fell in love.” Then he lifted his head to stare at her with such a hot gaze she could almost feel herself burning.

She was so ready to fuck him, she could only stare into his beautiful face and take in a shaky breath. Finally, she managed, “I’m happy too.”

His hands slid to her hips and he held her. His huge, throbbing cock entered her aching pussy, and then he pulled out.

  “Hey!” she protested.

He laughed and surged inside of her again, grinding his dick straight to her womb. She felt her eager flesh milking his dick with hard pulses and she groaned. Diego pulled out and thrust back inside of her over and over again until his own body started to shake, in tandem with hers. With a mighty animalistic growl, he came and she knew that she could finally come too. Her body erupted like an earthquake. In a
high voice she called out his name as the tremor continued, filling her with so much pleasure that she couldn’t think; she could only feel. There were many fiery aftershocks before her body was finally sated. When it was over she cuddled safe into his warm, safe, comforting, arms, feeling all his hard, lean muscle. Gods, he was a hunk and so was Chad. She had a lot of fun ahead of her.

The thought of Chad reminded her of the way he’d stomped out of the room. “Diego?” she asked, softly, her breath ruffling his thick hair.

Diego’s eyes were shut as he relaxed. “Mmmmmmmm, Bonita?”

  “That was awesome.”

“Indeed.” He stroked her cheek and lifted his head to kiss her nose.

“But I’m still concerned about Chad. We should go out and find him.”

Diego sat up and let out a sigh. Smiling at her, he said, “I’ll go find him and see if he’s ready to come back yet,” he said, “but you stay here, Bonita. I want you to rest. Your men will take care of you from now on.”

“I can take care of myself.”

Diego was climbing out of bed. “All the same,” he said, “I want you to rest. The bonding ceremony is tiring for all but especially for the woman. You don’t need to come with me. I would feel if he wasn’t all right and so would you because we’re now soulmates.”

Star was about to protest again but then she relaxed. Diego was right. They were soulmates now in the truest sense of the word. They’d both feel it if Chad were in danger. He was probably just walking around mad or riding his horse, dazed and pissed off. She did feel a fatigue she normally didn’t experience so Diego’s words that bonding was draining her powers were true.

“Oh, all right,” Star said, turning over on her side, watching a disheveled, naked Diego, with his beautiful bronzed physique. Just feasting her hungry eyes on him made her body tingle all over again. She was disappointed when he blinked on some blue jeans and his cowboy hat, although he still looked hotter than hell. And she was glad that he was comfortable enough with her to show her a few of his magic powers. There’d be lots more that the three of them would learn about each other but that could come later.

Before he left the room, he turned, hand on the doorknob, and said, “I felt you were restless last night, love. Try to sleep.”

Her eyes were already shutting as she nodded her head. He already knew her so well, probably could read her mind if she didn’t block him out, and soon Chad would share that psychic link too. “I’ll try, Diego.”

“Good girl,” he said and he shut the door, then she heard his tread as he jogged down the stairs.

  Chapter Twenty

Chad stalked through the trees on the far end of his ranch, not really seeing anything, not able to feel anything yet either. Too much had happened and he needed to unwind; to try to wrap his mind around it. The uncorked bottle of whiskey in his hand steadied him as thoughts whirled around him in a blur. His Venus origins. His psychic mother. Star, the love of his life. Diego, his damned guardian angel. He was a grown man, he didn’t need a guardian. The bonding that changed them all. He wondered if he’d ever sort it out, come to accept the truth. Yeah deep inside of him, where he had never looked before, he knew it was meant to be. What’s more, it seemed as if he’d always known these things, even though they’d been blocked. But that couldn’t be possible. Could it? Was he going crazy?

He took a swig of whiskey, walking as he did; sweat pouring down his bare chest into the waistband of his jeans. Hell maybe he’d sweat it out. Maybe if he was lucky the alcohol would blur the edges enough for him to take it all in without feeling overwhelmed. Then he thought about Diego with Star and he lost his cool, taking another swig off the bottle. He liked when they did her together and he wouldn’t really have minded if they had sex once in a while alone, but he didn’t want Star to love Diego, did he? A little part of him said yes, bothering the hell out of him. Star was his, damn it! He shouldn’t want to share her. An earthling wouldn’t, but you’re not an earthling, dumb ass.

“She belongs to both of you and you belong to her.”

The feminine voice was so loud that he swung around to see who stood there but he saw nobody. Still, he was certain of the presence of a sweet essence and the feeling of love wrapped in a scent of lilacs. His mother’s favorite flower. He didn’t remember her, but somehow he had that knowledge. His mother loved lilacs and his mother was here, in his space, trying to help him. It spun his head.

“Mother?” he asked, his heart thudding.

To his surprise, she sounded a little harsh. “Not a day has gone by that I haven’t watched over you and loved you from afar, but you’re right, Chad, you’re acting like a dumb ass now. Open yourself up to the possibilities of love, son. The Venusian type of love that is your birthright.”

He let out a gasp, feeling a tingling go through him as he absorbed her words. Feeling desperate, like a needy little boy, he wanted to reach out and touch her more than anything else in the world. “Let me see you, mother.”

“Soon. Soon, my son… but not before total acceptance…and that is about to happen. You will see how much your soulmates care for you…you will face a few trials together and you must show your devotion to one another…” The voice faded away leaving Chad frozen in his spot, wrapped in a blanket of warmth and maternal affection. He felt better now but he wanted to meet his mother. Her presence had been so profound that he did not want to move, afraid that if he did, her sweet flowery lilac scent would disappear…And what kind of trials did she mean? Chad felt a chill in the breeze; a chill that hadn’t been there before.

Suddenly, from between the trees, a truck screeched its tires, going off the road as it bore down on him. He dove to the side, knowing he wasn’t going to make it and pained that he was going to lose Star just when he’d found her. Then, in the blink of an eye, Diego appeared out of nowhere, jumping on him and knocking him out of danger just in time. Like a crazed maniac with super strength, Diego pulled him behind a tree. As soon as Diego rolled off of him, winded but safe, Chad stood up and blinked as he saw Belle driving away in her father’s truck, laughing madly.

“She tried to kill me!” he cried out at Diego, in shock as Belle waved her fist and cursed at him.

“She won’t get away with it.”

Chad watched, awestruck, as Diego just disappeared then reappeared in front of the racing truck, putting out his hand and causing her little car to come to a full stop, as the engine sputtered to a halt. Wow, how many powers had Diego been suppressing? And how many scrapes had he gotten him out of without him knowing it? Without wasting time to marvel at Diego’s abilities, Chad ran to help him out, but found that there was no need. Diego had, by then, deflated all of her tires with a blink of his eyes and Belle was climbing out of the driver’s seat, shrieking. “Bastard! How did you do that? Hell, I don’t care how you did it! How dare you stop me! This jerk—” she flashed a revolted glance at Chad, “deserves to die for humiliating me!”

Chad stepped forward and grabbed her arms, as she tried to get loose by kicking at him. “You’re not well, Belle,” he said, feeling the truth of his words. “We’re going to call the police and they can decide what to do with you.”

“No!” she shouted. She proceeded to call him every four letter word in the book. “You are not going to help them lock me up in that awful hospital again! Everyone is against me!” She let out a pathetic scream that pierced the air and hurt Chad’s ears, even as he felt honest pity for her and gratitude to Diego for his help.

Diego pulled out his cell phone and called the police while Belle accused him of using witchcraft. It was more like wish craft Chad thought with an inner smile that he didn’t show her. Chad had nothing else to say to her so he let her get hysterical and by the time the cops arrived, she was babbling incoherently.

A burly cop shook his head sadly as he handcuffed her and took her to his squad car. Chad and Diego watched, Chad wondering how he hadn’t sensed Belle’s insanity before but that was before he’d had the
extra insight he did now. He dropped his gaze as Belle was driven away, still screaming.

After the cop car was out of sight, Chad’s heart started to slow down and he turned to Diego, amazed that his friend had reached him in time and a little bothered by it, as he’d always thought he’d stood on his own two feet. Crossing his arms, he said, “So I guess this is an example of how you protect me. I guess I should thank you.” He turned his head, cringing again at the idea of having a guardian angel, but unable to deny it any longer.

“I sensed the danger. It was sudden, but I’m quick. I’m sure you’d have done the same for me.”

Chad said nothing, knowing Diego was right.

“You’ve come to my rescue when I’ve been in fights that I was losing,” Diego said, laughing. “Many, many times, bro, you’ve saved my sorry ass from a beating.”

This was true. A little bit of the tightness in his chest relaxed. “Crazy bitch,” he said about Belle, shaking his head. “I feel sorry for her, but, shit, she really wanted me dead.”

“Yep. Well, I don’t think she’ll be back for a while.”

“Probably not, her folks will see to that.” Chad looked up at the blue sky, tipping his head back, not wanting to look at Diego. “Did you have fun with Star?” he asked waiting for the jealously to hit, surprised when it didn’t

“We’re a triad, Chad, I think you know that we did. If you’re going to be jealous of me, amigo, you’re not going to enjoy our family life. Star is just as bonded to you as she is to me and that can never change.”

“I finally figured that out, pal.” Chad smiled and clasped Diego on the shoulder seeing his friend’s surprise at his attitude adjustment. “So do we have to move to Venus with our triad?”

“Not full time. We can spend some time there and come back to tend to the ranch too. When on earth, nobody needs to know of our triad marriage. Put Holden in charge for when we’re, um, traveling.” He punched Chad in the shoulder.

Chad looked at his twinkling gaze, and smirked. “Yes, we’ll be doing a lot of traveling, I suppose. I love the ranch, you know. I’m not staying full time on Venus.”
