  ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

  D. H. Willison is a reader, writer, game enthusiast and developer, engineer, and history enthusiast. He’s lived around the world, absorbing history, culture, and food. Actually he’s eaten the food. It has been verified that he is a complex, multicellular life form. Fascinated by nature, technology, and history, and especially anything that can put all three of these together, he has an annoying habit of dragging his wife to the most unromantic destinations imaginable, including outdoor museums, authentic castle dungeons, the holds of tall ships, and even the tunnels of the Maginot Line.

  ADDENDUM:

It should be noted that the characters of Hazelhearth Hires Heroes lodged a complaint regarding their portrayal on the cover. In the interests of full disclosure, below is a partial transcript of the meeting discussing this:

Lady Isylnoir: Although the portrait is flattering, the artist took far too many liberties with my outfit. It is most impractical.

DH: Yes, well it was felt that—

Gnebnik: And I’ve nivver been blindsided by a foe like that. If the guild sees this, I’ll be the laughin’ stock!

DH: You see, with your stature it was hard to fit—

Sam: Not only is my armor protection insufficient, but several technical details of my crossbow are misrepresented.

Shin: Although it is not in my nature to lament such details, it should be noted that I carry firearms only reluctantly.

Lee: Yeah, and I’m not happy either!

Sam: Are you kidding? What could you possibly complain about? You have epic armor!

Lee: But I’m not left handed!

Note: Following this, the discussion became rather unruly. Magic spells were cast, property damage ensued, the stenographer had to flee for his life, and the remainder was not well documented.
