Nine Lives (Lifeline Book 1) Page 30

by Kit Colter

“So,” Derek said, “where to, Killer?”

Erin realized he was speaking to her. Killer. She didn’t know how to feel or what to think about that. She didn’t want to think about that. She just wanted it to be over.

“Home. I want to go home.”

  Acknowledgements

I have received assistance of nearly every imaginable kind over the course of this project, and a full accounting of my gratitude might constitute of book of its own. Instead, I’ve composed a list of people who should know, if they don’t already, that they are the most inspiring, most supportive, and most talented people I know. These people:

—committed a multitude of quasi-miraculous technical feats and tirelessly relayed all manner of top secret info: Meagan, Ginger, BT, Bryson, Iracema, Janett, Tony, Becca, Jonathan.

—encouraged, assisted, and inspired the hell out of me: Amy, Don, Laughing Crow, Joan, Erin, Darynda.

—loaned me his superhuman focus: 7.

—and, lastly, suffered through the cataclysm more commonly known as revision with both grace and style: Casey and Alan, to whom I owe my existence as a writer.

  A Letter to the Reader

Thank you. The choice to invest your time, attention, and energy in a story that I wrote is an extraordinary compliment. Reading a novel is an exercise in trust. You let a stranger lead the way into a different world, and I am grateful you took a chance on this book and this writer.

If you would like to show support for my work, please leave a review on Amazon.

  About the Author

Kit Colter started writing Catwoman fanfiction in first grade and never looked back. Her spelling has gotten better since then, and somewhere along the way she discovered the true power of the comma, but she is still writing for the same reason she started: an all-consuming love for the art of storytelling.

Kit lives in New Mexico on the edge of the Rio Grande. She has a Master's degree in English, wrote her thesis on speculative fiction, and is currently working toward her PhD.
