“Your fingers are a bit magical too,” he said, his cock jerking when the cloth wrapped around it.

“How can you still be hard?” I asked, truly a bit surprised to find his erection growing in my hand.

“How can I not be when you’re around?” he countered as if my question was the most ludicrous one he’d ever heard which only made me feel even more special.

“You say the sweetest things,” I said, stroking the cloth up and down his cock before opening my hand. “Oopsie, I dropped the washcloth,” I said, batting my eyes dramatically before turning around, spreading my feet apart and ever so slowly bending over. Ignoring the cloth, I looked over my shoulder and wiggled my ass in invitation. When his lips curled up, those dimples appearing, I felt my pussy spasm and braced my hands against the tiles.

“Little girl, a piece of advice,” he said, sliding an arm around my waist as he stepped closer. “Be careful when wiggling that gorgeous ass of yours, as a lesser man might misconstrue your invitation—”

“Oh, there’s no misconstruing here, Daddy. I want you to sink your cock into me,” I said, cutting off his unneeded advice.

“Into your ass?” he asked, his brow quirking, the question instantly having my buttocks clenching, but only for a moment.

I shook my head and smiled up at him. “I know you won’t do that, Daddy. At least not until you prepare me,” I said, experience having taught me that this man would rather cut off his arm rather than harm me.

Jack smiled and nodded, acknowledging the truth without having to verbalize it. Instead, he reached around me with his free hand, finding my clit before sheathing his cock inside me. I groaned as he filled me and then moaned as his fingers expertly began to work my clit. The water pounded on his back, working its way to slide over my body as he fucked me from behind, each thrust going a bit deeper, touching places he hadn’t been able to before as I bent forward more, pushing back against him.

I cried out as I came, my legs threatening to give way, his arm holding me up as he continued to piston his hips until he pressed his groin against my pussy, his cock jerking inside me as he bellowed in his own release. It was only then that we became aware of a knocking and realized that room service had arrived.

“Just leave it outside the door,” Jack shouted and a moment later the knocking stopped. Still, he took the time to carefully rinse the conditioner from my hair and again give me a quick scrub with the cloth and when I winced, he apologized.

  “Sorry, baby.”

“It’s okay,” I assured him sincerely. “It’s the good kind of ache.”

He smiled, turned off the water and pulled a towel from the rack, wrapping it around me and another around my head before he dried off himself.

“Stay here,” he said and stepped out only to return with one of the robes from the closet.

I shed the towel and slipped into the robe, leaving the one around my hair.

“Shall we have our picnic?” he asked as he pulled on the second robe.

“Yes, I’m starving,” I said, surprised at exactly how true that statement was. I’d lost my appetite over the last few months, but within hours of being back with Jack, it had returned full force. Of course, the fact that we’d probably worked off a few hundred calories might have had something to do with that.

Jack chuckled and as I moved into the room, he opened the door and picked up the tray that had been delivered.

“Can we eat on the balcony?” I asked.

“Baby, we can eat wherever you want,” Jack said.

I opened the sliding door and we settled at the table, shielded from our neighbors by frosted glass barriers, the view of the city spread out before us.

“Can we go on the Ferris wheel?” I asked, pointing toward the white spheres visible above the buildings around it.

“If you are a good girl and eat your lunch,” Jack said.

“Deal,” I said, my stomach growling again as the aroma of the food hit me when he removed the silver domes.

Another thing I loved about Jack was the fact that he never expected me to pick at my food or pretend that my favorite food group was lettuce. Taking my first bite, I moaned in appreciation as the flavor exploded over my tongue. It took me a moment to swallow as I’d taken far too large a bite, but then I said, “Oh my God, this is the best Reuben I have ever eaten!”

Jack chuckled and finished the fry he’d popped into his mouth. “How about the shake?”

“Oh, I forgot!” I said, reaching for the glass and sucking hard at the straw, with absolutely no results.

A rather strangled sound had me looking across the table to see Jack recovering after evidently swallowing wrong.

  “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” he assured me. “Just seeing your cheeks hollow reminded me of how you looked sucking my cock.”

“Daddy!” I said, feeling my cheeks heat, darting a glance around as if I expected to see some clone of Spiderman had climbed up the steep walls of the hotel.

Jack just chuckled and when I reached for a spoon to eat my shake instead, he reached over to take it from me. “Not a chance I’m going to miss the most spectacular show on the Strip,” he said, shaking his head. “Besides, sucking will get those jaw muscles back in shape.”

“You’re very bad,” I said, shaking my head yet unable to stop smiling as I wrapped my lips around the straw. Keeping my eyes on his, I drew as hard as I could, enjoying his pleasure in watching me as finally my efforts were rewarded with the first taste of ice cream. Swallowing, I sat back with a grin. “Strawberry, you remembered.”

“Babygirl, there is not a single thing about you that I will ever forget,” he said. “Now tell me about this career move of yours.”

While we ate, I told him how I really had decided to write my first book in order to save my sanity. How I’d started and then thrown away a dozen versions before writing what I knew and that was how Hanna’s Haven had been born.

“That is what your love gave me,” I said. “A place where I knew I was safe in every way. A place where I could just be me even when the me at the moment wasn’t a very nice person. Your love gave me that freedom because I knew that no matter what, you would be there to love me… to offer me the haven that so few people ever truly experience.”

Looking across the table, I knew that no matter how long I lived, I’d never be able to make up for the hurt I’d put him through. All I could do was try.

  “I’m really sorry—”

“No, babygirl. No apologies are needed. You’ve paid the price for the mistake and your slate is clean,” Jack said, and I knew he meant every word.

“Thank you,” I whispered, blinking hard to keep the tears that had welled from falling. “I-I know that’s not enough, but… thank you, Daddy.”

“You’re welcome,” he said, reaching over to brush his thumb over my cheek. “No more tears,” he said and then grinned. “Unless, of course, you’re naughty again and find yourself face down and bottom up.”

I could only laugh as we both knew that was very likely to occur. But until then, I pointed at the last uncovered dish. “Is that our cookies?”

“Let’s see,” Jack said, lifting the lid just a hair to peek beneath the cloche before nodding. “It appears to be.”

“Stop teasing,” I said, reaching out to put my hand over his as he chuckled, and we removed the lid together to reveal a mound of chocolate chip cookies.

“Oh, I love you,” I said, reaching for one.

“I love you too,” he said chuckling as I devoured the first of the three cookies I’d eat. Only when I sat back, pressing my hand against my belly and groaned did he stand and move to me. “Let’s get your hair dried and then you can take a nap.”

“But I finished my food and want to go on the Ferris wheel,” I complained.

“Baby, you’re about to fall asleep on your feet,” Jack said, scooping me up into his arms. “I promise we won’t leave Vegas without a visit to the High Roller, all right
?”

Yawning, I could only nod. “Okay, I guess a little nap won’t hurt.”

I wasn’t sure how I managed not to fall asleep as he removed the towel and began to carefully brush my hair out. The conditioner had done its job, removing most of the tangles and though my hair wasn’t completely dry, he untied my robe and slid it off before moving to the bed but abruptly stopping mid-stride. The bed was completely destroyed, the bedspread mussed, and I was awake enough to see the huge wet spot staining it.

  “I’ll call housekeeping,” he said.

  “Ewww… No! I mean… They’ll know what we did!” I said with a shudder.

“No worries,” he said, giving me that grin that had my blood racing. Wagging his eyebrows, he said, “Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”

I giggled but still said, “Well, don’t call them until we’re in my room, okay?”

“Okay. No, don’t bother with the robe,” he said as I reached down to grab it from the foot of the bed. Moving to where my purse lay on the table next to the ottoman, he brought it back to me. “Give me your key and I’ll open the door,” he said, nodding toward the door that connected our rooms.

Handing over the key after digging it out of my bag, I watched as he left. Standing alone for the first time in a few hours, I looked around the room, and smiled. I didn’t really see the mussed bed or the clothes strewn everywhere or the buttons on the floor. All I saw was that it didn’t truly matter where I was or what I was surrounded by. Jack Carey offered me a haven simply by his presence.

When a click sounded, I smiled and walked the few steps to the door which opened to reveal the man I loved with every fiber of my being.

My eyes closed when my daddy tucked me into bed and my heart smiled when he kissed my forehead.

“Sweet dreams, babygirl,” he said softly. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”

And I slipped into sleep knowing that when I opened my eyes, he would be the first thing I’d see.

  Savannah

I woke up a few hours later, and sure enough, my eyes landed on Jack who was sitting in one of the chairs, his feet propped up on the ottoman, reading my book. Perhaps it was improper, but I felt a thrill at watching him turn a page and his eyes moving to read the words I’d written. When he looked up, I smiled.

“I thought you’d already read the evidence,” I said, reminding him of his own words when he’d accused me of fraud.

“Isn’t it supposed to be a compliment when a fan rereads an author’s book?” he asked, making me blush in pleasure.

“I suppose, but you’re my daddy and I’d expect you to say you liked it even if you didn’t,” I said truthfully, pushing back the covers before remembering that I was naked as the day I was born. “Um, could you hand me my robe?” I asked, pulling the bedspread back up to my neck.

“Nope,” he said, grinning as he shook his head. “As you might recall, Hanna knows that her daddy loves to look at her wearing nothing but her birthday suit,” he said, riffling the pages of the book. “I think it was in chapter ten or so—”

“You really read it, didn’t you?” I said, a bit surprised he’d not just scanned through it.

“Every single word,” he said. “Now, get out of that bed and come give your daddy a kiss. I’ve got just enough time to enjoy the view before you need to dress.”

“Can’t we just stay in?” I asked, my body already tingling from the gaze I knew would be sliding over my nakedness the moment I obeyed.

“No. As much as I wish we could, I’m not about to be lynched by your fans by denying them your presence at this spotlight thing.”

I groaned, having totally forgotten about the event. Pushing the covers back, I sat up and swung my feet over the edge of the bed. Lifting my arms above my head, I did a slow stretch, a growl freezing me in place.

“Babygirl, don’t move a single inch,” Jack said, setting the book aside and moving to the edge of the chair.

He didn’t stand, he simply sat there staring at me. It was physically impossible, but I would swear I could feel him touching me, feel the sensation of his fingertips trailing down my face, tracking the outline of my lips before moving down my body, pausing to brush across nipples that instantly reacted, contracting into hard points with nothing more than his gaze caressing them. And when they dropped lower to my belly and then even further, I felt my pussy dampening with arousal. I couldn’t help the whimper that I gave as my muscles spasmed… not those in my arms that were still over my head, but those between my legs, pulsing in a need to be filled.

“That’s how I want to remember you tonight when you are in that spotlight,” he said softly. “All soft and needy for me.”

“We have time,” I offered only to see him shake his head.

“No, I want to know that beneath whatever dress you’re wearing, your nipples are throbbing and your little pussy is dripping into your panties, waiting for your daddy to strip you naked and fuck you until you can’t even remember your name.”

I moaned and he finally moved, picking up the book and tapping its cover. “Speaking of names, Kerrie Kenneth—”

“I can explain,” I said, finally lowering my arms and standing. Moving to him, I forgot my nudity and dropped to sit on his lap. My finger joined his on the cover, tracing the font of my pen name. “It was another way I could feel close to you. I might not have you for real, but I could have you with me by using a version of your name. I used your middle name as my last and spelled Carey differently, but”—looking from the book to find his eyes on me, I realized he might not consider it the way I had—”if you don’t like it—”

“I like it very much,” he said. “And it was a clue as to your whereabouts. You told me earlier that Douchbag threatened to ruin your career and that you weren’t worried, that you had already thought about opening your own firm with other women. You didn’t tell me you actually had or that the firm wouldn’t be in Houston, but in Austin.”

“We wanted to start fresh and Austin is such a beautiful place,” I said and then cocked my head. “So, how did you find me?” I asked, finally stopping to consider how exactly he’d known where to find me.

“I’m a detective,” he said, but I wasn’t buying that.

“And I’m sure you could find Savannah Gordon, but that doesn’t explain how you connected Savannah to Kerrie Kenneth.”

“Well, I admit I did have a little help on that front,” Jack said, tapping the book again. “It seems that Kerrie has a tendency to base more than her main characters on actual people, including her friend and confidant.”

“Ah,” I said instantly understanding. “Candance promised not to tattle.”

Jack chuckled. “And she kept that promise. But, the moment I saw the book on her table, I suspected that she knew far more than she was admitting even when her own daddy encouraged her to come clean.”

“Allen spanked her?” I asked, feeling a bit guilty for swearing a dear friend to secrecy.

“No idea, but I wouldn’t be surprised,” Jack said, shrugging it off as if he considered such a thing easily imaginable and I supposed to him it was. Every man I’d met who moved in the same circles as Jack had introduced me to, believed that their little girls knew better than to tell them anything other than the truth and the whole truth.

“Besides, it didn’t really matter as I had everything I needed. The moment I read the first chapter, the same one you read tonight, I had all the evidence I needed. After that, all it took was logging onto your Facebook author account and discovering that you’d be appearing in Vegas this weekend.”

“I guess people aren’t as anonymous as they’d like to believe, are they?” I asked, his explanation making total sense.

  “Not even close,” he confirmed.

I jumped as he used the book to smack my butt after lifting me off his lap. “Now that the mystery is solved, we need to get a move on. I’m not about to face the wrath of Ellen if you’re late.”
/>
“If we’re late,” I corrected. “Remember, you promised to appear with me.” Jack groaned and I giggled. “And don’t even try to get out of it. Ellen’s right. Just seeing you in the flesh will drive women wild.”

“Funny girl,” he said, shaking his head. “But a promise is a promise.”

Standing before him, I let my eyes rove up and down his body. Though he had evidently dressed while I slept, I was picturing him differently. Moving to him, I ran my hand up his chest. “Tell me you brought some jeans and a t-shirt.”

“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” he asked.

“Nothing, but I’m stealing a page from Ellen’s book of success. You wear what you did that day beneath the willow tree and my readers will easily associate you with Jackson and since they associate Jackson with naughty, yummy sex, their libidos will go nuts and we will sell a lot of books.”

Jack quirked his eyebrow. “Yummy sex?”

I giggled and blushed. “Face it, Jackson, I didn’t get that bark burn on my butt from vanilla sex.”

He laughed. “True enough,” he said and shook his head. “Sometimes I forget that my babygirl is not only very sexy, she is a very savvy woman.”

I laughed, delighted at the compliment. “Don’t worry, Daddy, I’ll always be your little girl too,” I promised, lifting onto my tiptoes to brush a kiss across his lips. “Oh, and don’t forget, no panties.”

He growled and this time it was his hand that smacked my ass. “Little girl, men do not wear panties.”

Giggling, I reached back to rub at the spot he’d smacked. “Believe me, that’s one thing I really love about my daddy, Daddy.”
