Insufferable Proximity Page 22

“That doesn’t mean you have to still do it, you’re smart and persuasive, you could easily be a lawyer.” Heaven told her and Petal looked up at her, her pale eyes wide with emotion before she smiled from ear to ear, no one had ever called her smart before, the only thing she had ever been called was a whore or a slut, it felt nice to be appreciated especially by a no nonsense girl who was known for being blunt as well as painfully honest.

  “I wish.”

“Wishing is for fools and birthday cakes, make it happen.”

“Thank you.” Petal said with emotion in her eyes.

  “For what?”

“For even thinking that I could.”

“You can, you’re a very clever girl and you can do much better for yourself then this life.” she said then stood up, “Get a hold of me if you ever change your mind.”

“Heaven.” Julian’s voice broke through her thoughts and she looked at Petal who was still grinning at her. Julian took her hand and kissed it before she finally turned to him.

He was grinning, wondering what she was so absorbed in, she had been in a strange mood all evening and he wondered what was going on in that mind of hers.

“Yes?” she asked as her brows rose.

  “You alright?’

“I’m fine.” she half smiled then took another sip of her mimosa.

Petal smiled to herself, of course she knew who Julian’s beautiful date was, she had known the second she saw her. Petal had been called a lot of things in her life, but she had never been called smart. How could she forget the only girl who had told her she could do something more for herself. The same girl who had given her boxes of pastel colored clothing and being a friend when Petal was in a terrifying situation. Not to mention the fact they had spent years together in that house before they both moved out.

Heaven was the reason that Petal had started to get smart, maybe it wasn’t in the manner that she had meant, but Petal had applied it to her own way of life and had been successful because of it.

She was happy to see her looking so beautiful, finally letting that true beauty shine instead of hiding it.

She could tell that Heaven was uncomfortable and she wished there was a way to reassure her, but doing so now would only draw attention to the fact that she already knew her. It was obvious to Petal that King did not know that part of Heaven’s life, regardless of the fact that he had been one of Sybille’s costumers. Petal had never had sex with him, but she knew a few girls who had over the years. No, petal would never expose Heaven’s secret, she owed a lot to her.

“You behave now,” Helena winked at him.

“She is amazing, absolutely beautiful.” Leister said.

  “Breathtaking.” Helena agreed.

“Too bad that beauty’s wasted on King, Mr. Fuck them and leave them.” Lincoln said with a mighty grin. “The killer Casanova.”

“With a trail of broken hearts to prove it.” Camilla smiled.

“But not this one, I suspect.” Helena turned to him knowingly, “she’s the type to appreciate, not neglect nor dismiss, she’s a forget-me-not.”

Heaven walked out of the restroom and back over to Julian who was saying goodbye to his friends.

“It was such a pleasure to meet you darling.” Camilla said with a wink.

“Thank you.” Heaven answered then felt herself suddenly being embraced by Helena.

“Will you be coming to Aries’s party?” she asked and Heaven looked at her in confusion.

“Next month I will be throwing my Birthday bash, you must come.” Camille cut Helena off then suddenly Heaven felt herself being swept into a big hug.

“I’m so glad you came.” Petal said than kissed Heaven on the cheek and wrapped her cotton candy scented arms around her for another quick hug before she pulled away.

“Don’t mind her,” Camilla grinned, “she loves everyone after a bottle of champagne.”

“Good night.” Julian cut them off, then grabbing Heavens hand, he led her out of the house and away from the barrage of questions.

Julian held Heavens hand as he helped her in the limo, he immediately shut the privacy window.

“Your friends are nice.” she said feeling as if the champagne was sloshing around in her skull.

  “They’re alright.”

“I don’t feel so well.” she said, feeling the space inside the limo spinning around her.

“You’re drunk.” he said with a smile as he wrapped his arm around her. She leaned into him and tried to force her head to stop spinning or at least try not to think about it. He unzipped the back of her dress and began rubbing her back, watching her drift off to sleep. He held her until the limo finally stopped then he picked her up and carried her into the house, heading straight up stairs to his room.

“Slow down.” she whined as she woke up, feeling worse then she had on the way home. “I hate this, it feels like there’s a hurricane is in my head and several tornados in my stomach.” she cried resting her head on his shoulder.

“We’re almost there.” he reassured her.

“Bathroom.” she slurred as he walked into the bedroom and he headed straight to the bathroom. She went down to her knees in front of the toilet and he held her hair back from her face. He helped her stand, wiped her face off and gave her a cup of mouthwash, which she managed to drip down the front of her dress. He carried her back into the bedroom and stood her before him then reached down and pulled her dress up. She lifted her arms as he slid it off and then tossed it in a heap on the floor. He opened his dresser and grabbed his large t-shirt but she pushed it away when he handed it to her.

“It’s too hot,” she said standing there in just her pumps “help me get this off.”

She sat down on the bed and reaching for her shoe. He kneeled on one leg before her and removed her shoes, enjoying the amazing view as he did so.

“I think I’m going to get sick.” she said trying to stand, but he picked her up and raced her back to the bathroom where they repeated the previous process. This time after she had finished, she brushed her teeth and Julian went out to his room to grab the bottle of headache medicine and a bottle of spring water then returned to the bathroom and started the bathwater. After rinsing her mouth again with the peppermint mouthwash, she walked over to stand before him and he promptly handed her the two pills

  “What is it?”

“Pain killers, you’re going to need them.” he explained and when she put them in her mouth, he handed her the cold water and she drank greedily. Once she had taken them, he picked her up and sat her down in the tub.

“My head is pounding.” she whined, putting her hands to her head.

“Just relax Princess, that medicine will bring you some relief soon.” he said as he began to gently wash her body. The warm water enveloped Heaven and the lilac scented bath oil drifted through the room and helped calm her.

  The Second Week

The high pitched wail of Heaven’s alarm clock rang relentlessly through the room, its obnoxious ring ricocheted off the walls only to spit through her sensitive eardrums like bullets. Normally she would wake up refreshed and ready to go, but this morning was different. That sound used to signal the start of a brand new day for her, it represented the sound of opportunity ringing, but where it once brought the tingle of anxious anticipation, now it filled her senses with dread. After the long night she had spent appeasing Julian’s never ending cravings, the last thing she wanted to do was stand in court and argue her case. Her body was still tingling, her breasts were tender from Julian’s eager mouth and she wasn’t sure if she would even be able to drag herself out of bed, let alone face the day.

In a move rare to her, she hit the snooze button and went right back to sleep. It felt like she had only shut her eyes for a second before her alarm went off again. She forced herself out of the bed, looking at Julian, who wasn’t even disturbed by the horrific ringing. No, he wouldn’t be getting up for at least anot
her hour. Her legs felt like they were wrapped in heavy steel as she flung them to the floor, her feet hitting the carpet with a deafening thud. When the jolt from her feet hitting the floor, raced up her legs to jolt through her sex, she knew today would be one of those days she wished she had of just stayed home.

Yes, today would be very difficult.

She shuffled her way to the bathroom where she quickly showered, almost afraid to touch her own body. She was still a little tender in certain places, but that wasn’t the real problem. For some strange reason her body was still in a mulled state of arousal and just running the washcloth over her skin was too much for her senses. With each move of her hand, she was actually having flashes of Julian and the things he had done to her. If she didn’t stop bathing herself, she knew she would run to the bedroom then jump on top of Julian and demand that he service her. That was a humiliation that she was just not prepared to live through.

She dried off and wrapped the large fluffy towel around her wet body then headed down to his enormous kitchen to start a pot of coffee. She looked at the wide, black, marble top counter, seeing the infamous chocolate chip cookie bag and felt a blush spread across her face. She could not figure out how she had become so romantically and pathetically giddy? She called Julian a choice name under her breath then headed back upstairs to quickly get dressed while the coffee finished brewing.

She walked back into the room, seeing Julian hadn’t even stirred and she wondered how he stayed asleep during his own snoring, it sounded like there was high powered miniature chainsaws caught in his nostrils. How could he just be sleeping so peacefully and not the least bit worried about the day? She wanted to pick up the book on his dresser and project it towards his head, but she knew he would only tackle her to the ground and proceed to molest her. She grinned and walked over to her designated dresser, opened the slim top drawer where she kept her underwear, then frowned when she saw it was empty.

“Julian!” she yelled from across the room and he stopped snoring. She stomped over to the bed and smacked his shoulder “Julian, get up!” she yelled.

“What?” he mumbled as he looked towards his alarm, his first thought was that he was late.

“Where are all of my underclothes?”

“They’re gone.” he said as he tried to pull the pillow over his head and go back to sleep. She snatched the pillow and threw it to the foot of the bed.

“Give them back to me right now!” she snapped as she stomped her foot. He turned to look at her, his eyes flashing with anger.

“I told you if you wore them one more time I was getting rid of them.” he said as he pointed an accusing finger at her, “Now you have to do what I tell you.”

“But I have court today!” she squealed.

  “I don‘t care.”

“Well I do! I have to go into a court of law and defend an innocent man against a cutthroat District Attorney, who hates me because he can‘t beat me.”

  “So.”

“So?” she was literally three seconds from clobbering him. “What do you mean - so?”

“You don’t need panties for that.”

“Are you out of your mind? I am not walking into that courtroom without panties on!”

“Why? The only way anyone in that court room would know you weren’t wearing them is if you pulled up your skirt. Since pulling up your skirt without me in the room is a breach of contract, you don’t have anything to worry about Princess” he said with a grin as if he had just solved the problem for her. She looked at him like he was insane, she didn’t even know respond to that.

“Control freak.” she turned to walk away from him.

“Come here.” he said grabbing her hand.

“No, I have to get ready.”

“I have 20 minutes before this alarm goes off and since you woke me up early, you’re going to entertain me until it does.” he sat back against the headboard, “so take off the towel.”

“We don’t have time for this, we’re going to be late and I refuse to be late because of you. It‘s bad enough I have to go to court without a bra.”

“Or panties.” he grinned and she could not stop herself from throwing her brush at his chest. Julian chuckled in response.

“You’re such a prick.” she hissed.

“You better get that towel off right now or I guarantee you’ll be late. You’re not leaving this room until I’m done with you.”

Oh she would take off the towel alright, and then wrap it around his head until he passed out. Instead she stood tall as she stripped the towel from her body, and then dropped it on the floor with one quick wave of her hand.

“Happy now?” she glared at him, her hands on her hips.

“Very happy,” he smiled, feeling honored to be able to just look at her, at his own leisure. “Now spin for me.” he demanded and she slowly turned around, showing him everything.

“You only do this to humiliate me.” she said

“No, I told you, I do this because I love looking at you.” he reached over and pulled her to the bed beside him, then slid his hand down her belly to rest over her sex “and touching you. I refuse to waste something so enjoyable and I intend to take advantage of every available second I have with you.”

“And you’re still aware of the fact that I can’t stand you?” she said it, but she wasn’t entirely sure if she truly meant it. Sure, she still despised him, a little, but not as much as before, and she definitely didn’t despise some of the things he did to her.

“Of course I am,” he bent his head to kiss her neck, then the sensitive skin behind her ear, “that’s the icing on the cake and that’s what makes me want to fuck you all the harder. Your hatred is my foreplay.”

Heaven had court first thing that morning and Julian spent most of the afternoon tracking down a new character witness for his client. This person could make the case and guarantee Julian an early win to what could potentially be a very long trial. Julian was close to victory, close to proving his client innocent, he could feel it. With the recent developments, he was hopeful that by this time next week he would have a verdict.

Heaven was on her way into the firm, court was in recess for lunch and she had decided to go back to the office. Normally she stuck around the courtroom anxiously awaiting for it to be back in session, only going back to the firm under dire circumstances. Since her mind was already so overwhelmed with her case, she decided not to analyze why she felt the need to be back in the office and closer to Julian.

By the time Heaven got back to the firm, she had enough time to grab a few files and fill her coffee mug before she needed to be back in court. She had just finished up in her office and was headed towards the cafeteria when she heard Julian’s voice. She stood back where she could not be seen as she listened to the conversation already in progress.

“What is it?” Julian asked, sounding irritated.

“I was thinking,” Heaven heard the females voice and cringed, only Mrs. Strain had a nasally voice like that, she could not stand that woman’s voice, especially her laugh, “since it is my birthday weekend and all, I thought maybe we could get together, I know a great little place where we can be all alone.” Heaven began chewing the side of her lip as she listened to her fellow attorney throwing herself at Julian’s feet.

  “I can’t-”

“I have new nipple clamps.” she whispered with a wink.

“I have plans this weekend.” he said and she shrugged.

“Well if they change, get a hold of me lover.” she purred and Heaven headed toward the exit door before Julian left the cafeteria. She was fuming on her way to court and could not concentrate let alone remember her clients last name and to top it all off, she hadn’t even had a chance to grab her coffee.

Not only was she angry at such a disgusting display of desperation and lust, she was also angry at herself for allowing them make her angry in the first place. She could not understand why she was mad, she should be happy Mrs. Stra
in wanted to take Julian away for the weekend, it would mean less time for Heaven to have to spend with him. It was the perfect solution to her dilemma, but for some reason unbeknownst to herself, she was infuriated. Lila Strain was a condescending, conceited tramp who would have voluntarily slept her way to the top if her talent had not taken her there first.

She was a great attorney, but she was a cocky bitch who wore suits 2 sizes to small and displayed her assets whenever humanly possible. There had always been talk around the office of Julian and Lila having some type of lurid affair, but Heaven had never entertained the gossip that flew within the walls of the firm. Usually it was the entertainment of the bored groupie-secretaries, who made Julian their subject matter for such fodder, due to their unreasonable fixation with him.
