“Call our allies, set up a meeting. Find whatever information you have on the men who received payment to cause problems. I am assuming since Dante was not weak, the men they have contacted will be powerful in their own right too. They would also have a serious problem with the current lord of the territory they wish to obtain. We may need to ask them outright who their enemies are. For now, we need to make sure everyone is trained and up to speed with everything here,” Sin said.
Cillian nodded and began texting someone. Before long, the room was filled with his strongest vampires. Marlee was going to be a little pissed, but she was going to have a new best friend. He would guard her with his life. He stared at his second with a hard cold look and Cillian knew what he was trying to say. No one was to know about the mating of Marlee and him, nor would they know the significance. Because if the wrong person found out—they would have something to use as a weakness. Sin would never let that happen. Marlee was not a weakness—she was his strength.
*****
They had no clue of the storm that was coming toward them. He didn’t just want to lead vampires—he wanted to enslave humans. The only way he could get this plan moving was to create problems here and there. Taking out the lords was not the idea—he could do that anytime. The women were whom he was interested.
The mate’s blood was what was important. They were the key to the whole plan. Why? Because their blood was what gave the lords the power they needed. The same power he wished to acquire.
After years of research, he had found one small clue, which led him to where he was right now—on the cusp of greatness. Millions of dollars paid to find the women who when mated to the current lords would do the one thing no one had ever done—gain the clue of vampirism. It was going to be revolutionary and all his.
Epilogue
Jager was tired. He had spoken to Cillian who told him of the warning that things were not over. Jager had assumed once Sin’s problem had been dealt with, that it had solved the problem of the new lord. He was wrong, Dante had not been the man they were seeking, he had been sent by another and used.
The only good thing to come out of this was that Sin had found his mate. Yes, Jager was well aware of the significance. His maker had explained it to him, trusted him with a great secret, which he was never to tell another lord.
His maker had been adamant with the knowledge, never tell anyone. Jager had promised only because the odds of actually finding the one human who was right for them was a million to one. His maker had explained why.
It was the blood of the mate. They had to be a perfect match with theirs, considering the exchange of blood. Then and only then would the match be known, the lord's vampires would strengthen, to protect their mate? Jager had wanted to search when he first took over Germany. He was ready.
However, the years had proven to him that it was not as easy as thought. Jager had almost given up hope of finding his one when he discovered Sin had found his. It gave him hope.
He stepped out into the club he ran. Dark Cravings was his baby, the first club he had bought when he became a lord. Sure, he had inherited things from the man he had taken the seat from, his maker who had wasted away after finding his mate, and being denied her for eternity when she was killed.
Their lives had been entwined only briefly so his instant death had not come. No, his maker had starved to death after she had been killed. It had been hard to watch, but he knew, and he hoped Sin knew too, once a mate was taken, that was the only person a Vampire Lord could feed from once the bond was in place, nothing else would sustain a vampire with a mate.
The music thudded loudly, a sound he had once taken comfort in, but one that had increasingly made him restless and he didn’t understand why.
“Victor,” Jager called to his second and waited as the large man appeared as if out of the blue.
“Sire?” he said quietly.
“Bring me a woman,” Jager said and then sighed.
Within moments Victor brought one of the women Jager usually fed from. He took her back into his office and quickly drank from her. He was long past the nights where he kept a woman in his bed for the night, feeding on her and repeatedly taking her body.
When he opened his door to escort the woman out Jager was shocked. Standing in front of his door with an arm raised, preparing to knock, was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Long raven black hair, a voluptuous frame, and the woman looked pissed off.
Jager looked at her and waited. She had obviously wanted to speak to him. The human he had just fed from grinned, kissed his cheek, and then left. Whoever his visitor was glared at his companion for a brief moment before snapping her attention back to him.
“Great, a manwhore, just my luck,” the woman muttered.
“Excuse me?” Jager growled and narrowed his gaze on the woman.
“Yes, excuse you,” she snapped and then pushed him back into his office. “We have a situation and I have been trying to speak to you for weeks. Glad to see the important business meeting you were having was so urgent.”

Taming Team TEN Book One

“Hey,” the large man who was driving said. “We are supposed to meet the foreman of the ranch.”
Slone grinned and looked at the men who were slowly lining up. Alex was slow to get there but ended up at the end of the line. Slone walked to him with a grin and held out his hand. “Alex, welcome home.”
Alex looked up stunned, and then he recognized his childhood friend and grinned. “Slone?”
“Yeah, I am your knew foreman, in charge of teaching you SEALs how to be cowboys,” Slone said with a chuckle and Alex grabbed his hand and did the one arm hug.
“Shit, man, I was gonna call you when I settled in. The dads said you were somewhere in Wyoming, I figured we could meet up. This is awesome, they didn’t tell me,” Alex said with a laugh.
“When they called me, I said I would be honored to help out, quit my job and hightailed it here. I beat you by a week,” Slone said and looked down the line at the rest of the men. “Hey, I am Slone Brate, the new foreman of the Second Chance Ranch, and you are Thane, Gage, Mason, Drake, Jessie and of course, Alex,” he said, naming each of the men correctly.
“Stalker?” Jessie asked and looked at him suspiciously.
“No,” Slone laughed. “Just making sure I know who I am supposed to be teaching. Dallas and Noah filled me in.”
LC stepped forward and held out his hand. “Yep, you can call me Thane.”
The others did the same and Alex felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. His friend would help teach them ranching, and the men could decide if this was what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives, or if they just wanted a piece of land to retire on. With their VA retirement for medical reasons, they were able to at least have some money coming in to help pay for things, and since none of them had lived in the country in the last few years so their pay had stacked up to a nice tidy sum.
“The big house has enough bedrooms for all of you,” Slone pointed. “Let’s get you settled and then we can talk, then I can give you a tour of the ranch and we can start first thing in the morning.
All of them nodded and looked around curiously but followed Slone into the large house. There was an older woman and man in the foyer waiting for them. They all looked at Alex who shrugged.
The woman smiled and with tears in her eyes, she walked to each of them and hugged them saying as she did, “I am Louise, the cook and housekeeper, and this is my husband, Timothy, who is a handyman and wrangler that is going to help you out. Welcome home, and I am so happy you are all here, if you need anything you tell me. Now, I have a nice pot roast and potatoes, green beans and a nice chocolate cake for you. When you are ready, come down, and I will get your favorites written down.”
The men looked stunned and accepted the woman’s hug, and then mumbled in return. They weren’t quite sure what to do about this show of emotion. It just wasn’t what they were used to.
“Thanks,” Alex said and looked down to the floor.
Her husband walked up, stuck out his hand, and said gruffly, “Welcome.”
Alex looked at the older man warily and shook his hand. It was firm, and the look of understanding crossed the older man's face and Alex looked at the others as they followed, and he saw the kindred spirits all relax with the man's handshake. This was the right move, Alex knew it.

The Hidden Pack Book One

It was odd to have a brother. All she had ever known of shifters were that for some odd reason only a single child could be born, and even that was hard to do. Mike had called her a little wonder because she just left people wondering how she came to be. Her mom would swear up and down the great Luna had sent her to them for a reason. Either way, here she was, getting ready to celebrate her twenty-fifth birthday this weekend with a giant BBQ—country style.
“Oh come on, squirt, you know I can’t resist chocolate. Especially when I know you made it. And if I am not mistaken there’s a hint of Kahlua in there. I swear it is a good thing you are moving out. It saves me from coming over here and eating the—whatever you are mad at—baked items. Anyway, I have to work tonight so I can’t stay to long. I just came over because mom said you needed to talk to me, and that something needed to be pulled out of the attic. She’s on one of those kicks again. She mentioned that she was turning your bedroom into a sewing room to allow more space for her office,” he said as he swiped his finger through the frosting of the cake one more time humming in appreciation.
“I’ll save you a piece. Anyway yes, I need your help putting my TV on my wall. It seems I need a stud finder, whatever that is, because I just keep putting holes in my damn wall, and I don’t want to inflict more damage than I have to,” she explained.
Mike nodded and soon the two of them chatted a couple more minutes while she put the lasagna in the oven for dinner. Lost in thought about what she wanted for her birthday, Mike brought up ideas for him to bring to the BBQ. He had threatened to get her a puppy, but even she laughed because she was more of a cat person. This was something they had argued about even as children. She wanted a cat, he wanted a puppy, but in the end, their mom had decided on a fish tank. After that, they learned if they had issues with something not to let mom know. It worked out for both of them in the long run.
“Sure I can come over in morning after my shift if that’s okay. It will save me from having to back track home. Do you want me to bring over coffee as well,” he chuckled. He knew her dark secret. Never disturb her until after she had a cup of coffee, well unless you wanted to have your balls shoved down your throat.
She nodded in agreement and soon she caught the smell of something. It wasn’t the food, she was about to tell Mike, when a small rumbling sound caught her attention. She turned to stare at a man still in police uniform. He wore dark blue pants, followed by a dark blue uniform shirt with short sleeves. He looked like his arms were going to tear out of them by his bulging biceps. She continued her gaze upward. He had a strong jawline with big full lips that were slightly parted. Finally she looked into his eyes. The gray eyes looked back at her holding her attention. Not only was she lost in the depth of them but she felt the air leave her lungs as if she couldn’t catch her breath along with the smell of burnt wood assaulting her senses. Mike's coughing brought her out of her trance.
The stranger smiled and looked at her brother as Mike spoke, “Um…sorry, dude, I meant to come back in. This is my baby sister, Becky. Beck, this is Dmitri Daciani, he and his brother just transferred from up north,” Mike stated as he made introduction.
Dmitri stuck out his hand to her and she hesitated for a minute. She felt a sudden pull from within. Why was she drawn to him? Not wanting to appear rude because let’s face it, her dad would ream her up one side and down the other if she was. She placed her hand in his and shook it. Suddenly a warmth spread through her body as a spike of adrenaline pulsed through her veins.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Becky. Mike failed to mention he had such a beautiful sister,” he stated with a smile as he took her hand, flipped it over and oh so gently brought it up to his lips and placed a small kiss on the inside of her wrist. The zap of electric currently pulsated through her arm all the way down to her now throbbing sex, causing her to gasp and for him to rumble deep in his chest. What the hell just happened? She pulled her hand back quickly. Damn it, he is part of the real Neanderthal club! Shit…shit…shit.
