Chasing Carson Page 16

by Amanda Bennett

  “Ruger, can you just calm down. I’m not asking you to give me anything.”

  “Oh but you are. You’re askin’ me to ignore my feelings for you.” I glanced over at her and her damn nightgown was still workin’ its way up her thigh. “You’re askin’ me to not touch your soft smooth exposed skin even though it is practically callin’ my name.” I pointed at her exposed thigh. “You’re askin’ me to go against every single thing I feel for you, because…well I don’t know why to be honest. Oh fuck it.”

  I threw the doll in the air and lunged at Carson, pressin’ her hot little body into the mattress below me. My lips were immediately on hers and I kissed her with everything I had in me. My insatiable hunger for her had only grown over the last month, and I was beyond bein’ able to stop it. I could no longer deny myself the pleasure of knowin’ that I was about to ravage her.

  Our hands were all over each other, graspin’ and pullin’ at the clothing that covered the parts that I had to see. I sat back and gripped her nightgown in each fist, and ripped. Her nightgown tore right down the middle and I discarded it onto the floor below us. I tugged my shirt over my head throwin’ it on top of her torn clothing, and quickly undid my belt and top button of my pants before sealin’ my lips over hers again.

  Her fingernails ripped into the skin on my back as my tongue explored her mouth. My fingers slid between the thin fabric of her panties and I wasted no time circling her clit, and movin’ them in and out of her most needy spot. My lips found her neck and I kissed my way down and over to one of her breasts, pullin’ her nipple in my mouth and gently bitin’ at it. Her hands pushed back through my hair, holdin’ me in that exact spot so I could tease her nipple repeatedly.

  As small moans escaped her mouth it was becoming increasingly harder to not be inside of her. With one hard tug, her panties fell from her body and I was granted instant access. I looked down at Carson, as her heaving chest pressed against mine. I positioned myself at her entrance and waited for the go ahead. When her eyes finally looked right into mine, I thrust into her unapologetically. Her eyes were still on mine as I pulled back and thrust into her again, this time a little bit harder, and a loud moan escaped between her lips.

  We continued this little game for a little bit longer before Carson was rollin’ me over onto my back and takin’ full control. She slowly lowered herself onto my rock hard length, and began rockin’ back and forth. Her blonde hair was glowin’ as the moonlight broke through her blinds, softly illuminating every inch of her. With every movement her breasts bounced and her hair fell forward, coverin’ her beautiful face.

  I reached up to push it back, when she started to rock faster. I clutched her hips with my hands, diggin’ my nails into her hipbones as I guided her body forward and backwards. “Faster.” I moaned, and she did exactly that. I could feel her tighten around me, and I lost all self-control. We both came at the same time and Carson fell forward onto my chest, tryin’ to catch her breath. The only sound in the room was our heavy breathin’ and our erratic heartbeats.

  I rolled onto my side, takin’ Carson with me. I pushed back the strands of hair that were hangin’ in her face, and then gently pressed my lips against hers. If this was the last night I got to spend with her, then I was damn sure goin’ to make the most out of it. I tucked her head under my chin, and ran my fingers up and down her back in a soothin’ motion, lulling her to sleep. When I could hear her breathin’ even out, I knew she was out. I was goin’ to leave, I really was, but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave her and have her wake up feelin’ like I used her. Instead, I hugged her tightly against my body and fell asleep knowin’ that when I woke up, she would still be there.

  Carson

  I woke up around seven o’clock this morning, but I didn’t move a muscle. Instead, I lay there staring at him as though he was the Mona Lisa. I traced every facet and curve of his face with my finger, but making sure to never touch his sensitive skin. He was absolutely gorgeous. His arms that were wrapped tightly around me were all muscle, but not too big, just enough to make me feel safe. His hair had grown out, and I couldn’t help myself, I had to touch it. He let out a low moan as I pushed my fingers back through his hair. I ran my fingers through the length and was about to do it again, when his voice startled me.

  “You can keep doin’ that all day if ya want.” He popped open one eye and I couldn’t control the laughter that came bubbling out of my throat.

  “You look ridiculous.”

  “Oh do I?” He started making a snorting sound and pretended to attack me. I started laughing even louder, when his hand suddenly came down over my mouth as he rolled on top of me. “Shhhhhh. You’re gonna get us in trouble.”

  “It’s only seven o’clock, nobody is awake yet.”

  “Did you both forget that we have shit to do today? Up and at em’.” We both looked back at Ky as he stood in the doorway. “At least it’s me and not Mr. Caverly.” He gave a smug smile, and then disappeared behind the closed door.

  “Well that would’ve been awkward had we been in the throws of passion.” Ruger joked.

  I slapped him on the shoulder. “So not funny.” I laughed.

  “Guess it’s time to get up and get dressed.”

  “If we have to.” I whined.

  About an hour later, we both came bounding down the stairs, laughing and joking around. Unfortunately, Lyndley was not in a joking kind of mood. I could feel her heated glare burning a hole right through me as we walked into the living room. At first I wasn’t going to play into her childish behavior, but then part of me just wanted to mess with her.

  “Why so bitchy this morning, Lynd. Ky piss in your oatmeal.” I gave her a sarcastic smile as I plopped myself down on the couch, and propped my feet up on the ottoman.

  “No, nobody pissed in my oatmeal.” She kicked my feet down as she walked past me. “Just annoying people who don’t know how to be ready on time.”

  “Oh shut up. Seriously, what all do we have to do today?”

  “I told you yesterday. Today is my final fitting for my dress.” I glanced over and saw tears forming in Lyndley’s eyes.

  I instantly sat up and put my arm around her. “Lyndley, why are you crying? I was just joking with you.”

  “I know. It’s not you. It’s nothing.” She wiped away her tears and straightened her dress. Always one to never show emotion, she was becoming a pro at it.

  I glanced over at Ky for answers, but he just shrugged his shoulders and continued his conversation with Ruger. I looked at Lyndley who was sitting next to me and pulled her chin up so she was looking at me. “How about I get Mom, and we go to your dress appointment? Yeah?” She nodded as a stray tear escaped, and suddenly I knew exactly what was bothering her, because it was the same thing that had been bothering me since the day I found out.

  ~~~~
  “Oh my god, Lynd. You look stunning, and I’m totally not just saying that. You really do look beyond words beautiful.” I had never seen my sister look so beautiful in my entire life.
  “Mom, what do you think?” Lyndley and I both stood there waiting with baited breath for our mom to say something. It was the first time she had seen the dress and I knew Lyndley was afraid that she might not like it.
  Tears began to stream down my mom’s cheeks and I quickly ran over to her and hugged her tight as I walked her over to where Lyndley stood in front of the mirrors. “I don’t even know what to say. You look perfect.”
  “Really?” Lyndley began to cry with her, and I didn’t want to be the odd man out, so I started to cry too. Now we were three babbling fools, bawling our eyes out in the middle of the dress shop.
  “Are we doing okay over here?” The dress lady was instantly at our sides, making sure we weren’t having some kind of nervous breakdown in the middle of the store or anything like that.
  “We’re good.” I turned towards her and gave her a quick hug. “Thank you so much for your help.”
  She st
ood back with a weirded out look on her face. “You’re welcome, I think.”
  After we got ourselves together, we paid for the remainder of Lyndley’s dress and made our way out to the car. I was in such an amazing mood today, I almost felt like I was high. There wasn’t anything that could bring me down today, nothing. “So, Mom how are you feeling? You okay if we go to lunch?”
  Before my mom could answer, Lyndley was piping in. “Can we swing past the tux shop real quick? I just want to make sure the guys got the right tuxes.”
  I rolled my eyes in mock irritation, which cost me a slap to my arm by my awesome sister. “Thanks, bitch.” I joked.
  “Carson, watch your mouth.”
  “Sorry, Mom.” I pulled into the parking lot of the dress shop a few minutes later, and suddenly became extremely nervous. “I’ll just wait out here.”
  “Are you serious right now? No, you’re coming in with me and Mom.”
  “But I don’t wanna.” I spoke in my little baby voice so she would get the hint.
  “Oh my god, you’re like a two year old. Get your ass, sorry Mom, I mean get your butt out of this car right now.”
  “Why. I don’t have to do anything I don’t wanna do. Tell her Mom.”
  “I swear you two are still little girls fighting over Barbie dolls. Carson, out of the car. We won’t be here that long. I swear, I don’t know what your deal is.”
  My Mom had her stern voice on so I quickly climbed out of the car and opened the back door to help her out. “You both suck!” I pouted as I crossed my arms over my body. When we walked inside, we immediately saw Ky at the end of the long hallway, standing in front of the mirror. He looked so handsome in his tux, and I thought I was in the clear with not having to see Ruger in his tux, but as soon as we turned the corner, there he was.
  His back was facing me as we approached, but as soon as he heard Lyndley’s voice, he turned around. My jaw literally hit the floor and drool started to spill from the corner of my mouth, at least that’s how I felt I looked. In all actuality, I just stood there speechless; my mouth cracked a bit in awe. I had never seen a man look as handsome as Ruger did at this very moment. I could see the cocky smile starting to form on his face, and I quickly stopped him before he got started.
  “You look…um…nice.”
  “Does somethin’ about me interest you, now?”
  Of course he had to throw out a smart-ass comment. “Not really.” I joked with a wink.
  “Now I see why you were so adamant on not coming inside.” Lyndley whispered in my ear.
  “You boys look so handsome. Oh I’m so excited for Saturday.” My mom clapped her hands together like a child and I couldn’t hold back my smile. She just looked so damn happy.
  We were all standing around admiring the guys in their tuxes when an all too familiar voice broke through our joyous laughter. I rolled my eyes and dropped my head as soon as he walked up behind me. I didn’t have anything personally against Xander, but he was most definitely getting on my nerves these days. For the past month, he was constantly by my side. I was surprised he even let me go to the bathroom on my own. I guess it helped that he was nice to look at.
  “Hey everyone. Sorry, I was told to come by and check on Carson. I know you have two Marshals with you practically at all times these days, but I’m just doing my job.” He held up his hands in mock surrender.
  “It’s okay, Xander. We all understand.”
  “Well, today is actually my last day with you. I’ve asked to be reassigned.”
  I was shocked at his honesty. “Why?” I looked at him in confusion. “Was it something I did?”
  “No, not at all. Can I talk to you outside for a minute?”
  “Sure.” I turned around to face everyone, and apparently to get the look of death from Ruger. “I’ll be right back.” I grabbed Xander’s arm and walked arm in arm outside with him. Once we got outside, he nicely removed my arm and stepped back from me a bit. “What’s going on with you?”
  “Look, I’m sure you know that Ruger and I have a past.”
  “I’ve heard stuff.” I lied.
  “I don’t pretend to be this perfect guy who never does anything wrong. In all honesty, I’ve done a lot wrong in my days, but what Ruger is accusing me of doing, I didn’t. Not that it matters, that’s beside the point. I don’t need another reason for him to hate me, and if I keep on your detail he will make my life a living hell. He’s got pull, and I really don’t want this to jeopardize my career.”
  “I don’t think he would ever do that. He’s not like that.”
  Xander placed his hand on my arm. “Look, I know Ruger and I know that he isn’t willing to let go of the past. I’ve come to terms with it all. I just don’t want to impose on something that in the end will end up causing me more harm than good. You know what I mean?”
  Unfortunately, I knew exactly what he meant. “I’m sorry, Xander if I ever made you feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. I hope you know I honestly had a great time with you before he came back. You’re an amazing guy.” I leaned forward and pulled him into a tight hug. Before I could pull back, Ruger was walking out the door and trying to get right up in Xander’s face.
  I pushed against Ruger’s chest as hard as I could. “Ruger, back the hell off.”
  “You still tryin’ to go after this one now?” Ruger was seething and I could tell that this was about to turn physical if I didn’t stop him somehow.
  “She hugged me.”
  “Oh did she now?”
  “Ruger, look at me.” He was still fighting against me, trying to get to Xander and not listening to a damn word I was saying. “Ruger, god damn it. Leave him alone.” I tried to push him back again, but there was no way my five foot eight, one hundred and twenty pound body was going to be able to stop his six foot four, two hundred and twenty pound monstrous body. So I did the only thing I could think of to get his attention. I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist, clutched his face in my hands and laid one on him. Our kissing started out rough, but quickly switched to slow and passionate as he finally realized what I was doing. His hands wrapped around my back, pulling me closer to him, and I could feel his body relax beneath me.
  I pulled back and jumped down. “Now listen to me.” I pulled his chin down so he was looking directly at me. “I was the one who hugged him. He wasn’t lying. He has been nothing but a gentleman the entire time he has been around me. You were gone. For over a month I was forced to have a different Marshal on my detail, because you needed time. You can’t get mad because I actually became friends with him. Now chill the fuck out. Do you hear me? Because if you ever try to pull that shit around me again, I’m done.”
  Ruger was looking straight into my eyes as he nodded. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.” He pressed a quick kiss to my lips, and then looked up at Xander. “I’m sorry, man. Hey, you have time to talk?”
  “Yeah.” I could tell Xander was hesitant, but it’s not like Ruger dwarfed him in size. If anything, they were about the same height and build. Men, I swear.
  “Okay, so now that that’s all taken care of. I’m going to get my mom and Lyndley and we are going to head home. I’ll see you back at the house.” I grabbed Ruger’s chin and pulled his lips down to mine. “Be good.” I whispered, and then bounded off with a smile to go grab the bride to be.
  Thirty Seven
  Ruger
  I had Wakely come with while I went to talk to Xander, just in case I lost my cool like I just did. I was surprised at how out of control I let him get me. When Carson finally got me under control, I felt bad. I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions the way I had, and then it suddenly dawned on me that maybe I did the same thing with Xander in the past.
  We pulled up to the coffee house down the street before Xander, so I headed inside and ordered the three of us coffee. I just hope I still remembered how Xander took his. I handed Ky his and we made our way outside to one of the tables. If for whatever reason this got out of control again, at least we wo
uld be outside and around less people.
  “You think you’re gonna be okay talkin’ to him?” I could tell Ky was worried.
  “I’ll be fine. I don’t know what the hell happened back there.”
  “I do. You straight hulked out.” Ky laughed. “You looked like you were some serious kind of jealous, that’s for sure.”
  “When it comes to Carson, it’s like I turn into a monster when I see other guys touchin’ her. That girl makes me a crazy person.”
  “Here he comes.” Ky nudged me.
  “Hey Ruger. Wakely, what’s going on?”
  “Not much, Xander.” I could tell Ky was being standoffish on my behalf, but it totally wasn’t necessary.
  “Go ahead and take a seat. Here, I got a coffee. One cream three sugars, right?” Xander nodded and I did an internal fist pump. “First off, I’m sorry for what happened back there. I jumped to a conclusion that I shouldn’t have, and I really am sorry.”
  “I appreciate it, Ruger, but you apologized there. So why are we meeting here?”
  “I realized back there, that I never really gave you a chance to explain yourself back in the day. I have a feeling I jumped to conclusions then as well. I want to hear your side of the story, if you’ll tell me.” I took a sip of my coffee and waited for him to start talkin’.
  “Ruger, you were one of my best friends. We knew each other since our first days in the Army, so when you accused me of sleeping with you fiancé at the time, I was pissed. I honestly didn’t want to be friends with you anymore if you honestly thought I would do something like that to you. I didn’t touch Rowan. The night of y’all’s engagement party, I just happened to walk into the room when she was there by herself. She came onto me, but I told her no. When you came in and saw us, that was all her trying to get me to kiss her.”
