Stephon who had been talking with several guest sat down his glass of lemonade and a walked over to where the chef stood minding the grills. The grill held perfectly formed burgers, hot dogs and large slabs of ribs sizzling as the cooked. Give me a big one said a large man in blue plaid shorts as he came over holding out a plate grinning as the chef lifted thick cut steaks from a second grill placing them on a silver platter.

The chef lifted a large smoking steak from the grill placing the meat onto the his plate with him taking it over to a table quickly cutting into it placing the morsel into his mouth. Greedily he began smacking his lips as he ate the sumptuous steak. Others now were lining up with plates filling them with the foods that were being served.

Stephon went over to his former staff catching up on their accomplishments for the past year and spent several minutes with the other guest before deciding that it was time for him to leave. He bumped into the large man in the blue plaid shorts as he started off the grounds. Better get yourself something to eat before you leave said the man rubbing his stomach as he started back to get another helping of the food. There is nothing better in the world for your appetite than to be outside in the fresh air smelling food cooking. Sure makes a man hungry.

I will grab something later replied Stephon, I am on my way to a meeting.

Suit yourself said the man. As for me I am going to make sure that I do not miss anything that is offered here today. Stephon watched the man waddle on over to the grill thinking that what the man needed was a diet, not to continue eating.

Stephon made his way to his car and as he drove to his meeting his mind took him back several months envisioning all that had transpired.

He was glad that he had been a part of a team that had been instrumental in making sure that there would never be a shortage of meat in the world again.

This meat would never have to be frozen and there would be no need for preservatives added to it.

Any cut desired could be purchased dried and the packages or containers could be stored in a cabinet until it was needed with only a few ounces of water making it ready for use of any kind.

Unfortunately he would never know the taste of this meat for the day he left the laboratory he had become a vegetarian.
