Professor Cline: Redeemed (Professor #2) Page 9

by J. M. La Rocca

He smiled at me. “Then maybe you’ll bake something for me one day.”

  “Maybe I will.”

My gaze drifted down to his lips and I looked at them longingly as his tongue darted out to wet them. They were full and kissable, lips I missed kissing, but I didn’t need to have those images in my mind. I averted my eyes and began to eat.

We ate in silence for a moment before Mason asked me a question.

“May I ask why you wanted to become a lawyer?”

I finished chewing my food and took a drink of my wine.

“Of course,” I stated, clearing my throat and wiping my mouth with my napkin. “It’s always been something I’d wanted to do. I remember going to lunch one Saturday with my parents when I was little and seeing a group of men and two women dressed in business suits. I was fascinated. It wasn’t the kind of attire I ever saw my parents wear, so I immediately started asking questions.” I laughed and shook my head. “I was very inquisitive when I was young.”

“And you’ve changed?” he asked with a smirk.

I smiled. “Not quite.” I took a sip of my wine and continued. “Anyway, my dad told me they were lawyers and that those people helped bad guys go to jail and innocent people stay out. Of course, he might have also mentioned that lawyers make a lot of money, too, and that if I wanted to be successful when I grew up, being a lawyer was a great occupation to choose.”

“Is that why your sister is a lawyer, too?”

I drank the rest of my wine and set the glass down, so Mason picked up the bottle and poured more into it.

“No.” I sighed. “That’s a whole other story. One I’d rather not discuss.” It wasn’t my place to tell Mason about a guy who attacked and sexually assaulted Melanie only to get off on the charges brought against him. She was never the same after that and vowed to make the world a better place. “I will say that her deciding to become a lawyer only solidified my want, as well.”

He studied me as he lifted his glass to his lips, and I couldn’t help but stare at them again. With the wine kicking in and my body already heated, words just flowed out of my mouth.

“You have great lips.” My eyes widened in surprise. I bit my lip and bowed my head, holding back the smile that was trying to form. “What I meant was…” My mind was blank on how to explain my embarrassing action.

I glanced up to see Mason smiling.

What the hell is wrong with me?

My face flamed as I looked at him, but it could have very well been all the wine I’d drank making my face feel hot.

Mason lifted a napkin to his mouth then placed it on the table before pushing back his chair. He stood up and walked over to me, outstretching his hand.

  “Dance with me?”

I stared at him blankly. “Uhh.” I turned and scanned the room, looking for a radio of some kind, but didn’t see anything. Did he want to dance with no music? Would that be such a bad thing? The sexual tension was already at its highest peak, so it couldn’t get any more frustrating.

I grabbed my glass of wine and took two healthy gulps before latching on to his hand.

He pulled me up to him and out of nowhere, music started to play.

We walked a few feet away from the table, not far from the fire pit.

“Where did the music come from?”

He tugged me close, lifting my arms to wrap around his neck. Then he placed his arms on my lower back, pulling me flush to his body.

“I have the remote in my pocket.”

I smirked at his slickness and looked into his eyes.

“If I didn’t know any better, Mr. Cline, I’d think you were trying to seduce me.”

He chuckled as he swayed us to the classical music.

“I don’t seduce, Ms. Blake. I take what I want.”

My cheeks flushed, and I tried to hold back my smile. The whole purpose of us getting together was so we could get to know one another better, but I couldn’t deny or hold back the sexual tension. I knew he could feel it, too, but I wasn’t going to make the first move.

“Is that so?” I asked, raising a brow. “I see a man being romantic.”

My breathing picked up as he slowly ran his hands up my sides until his thumbs were resting directly under the wire of my bra.

“I don’t do romance,” he said softly, his lips lowered to my ear.

  “I beg to differ.”

My breath was coming in short pants as his thumbs moved over the swells of my breast. I was ready for him to lose control and take me right there. Anything to release the pulsing that was taking over my lower half.

He lowered his head to my neck, and I could feel his hot breath blow against my skin before his teeth scraped against me, causing me to moan.

I pulled back and looked him over. The lamps caused shadows to form on his face, but his blue eyes stared into me, daggers piercing my soul. Deep down, even though I had battles with myself, I felt like I already belonged to him. I just needed to surrender.

“You can’t be a man who takes what he wants when it’s willingly being given to you,” I admitted.

As soon as the words left my mouth, his lips were on mine. Lifting his hands, he entangled them in my hair and I did the same to him. I felt his erection pushing through his pants as I pressed myself harder against him, my need taking over my actions.

He slowly started walking me backwards until my back met the wall, then he pulled back, breaking our kiss.

“Turn around and put your hands up on the wall,” he commanded in a low tone, breathing heavily.

Excitement coursed through me and I did as I was told. My arousal had soaked through my thong and was dampening my thighs, something that had never happened to me before. With Mason, I was always so ready, the excitement of being with him overwhelming.

All thoughts of the way the night was supposed to go quickly went out the door as soon as I felt him gathering up my skirt. I bowed my head and took deep breaths as I felt the material slowly move higher and higher.

“I’ve been craving you,” he breathed, leaning in to me. I tilted my head back until the side of his face was pressed against mine. “To feel that tight pussy around my cock.” He bunched my dress up around my hips and pulled back. “If you don’t want this, princess, tell me now,” he growled.

“I want it,” I moaned as he ran his fingers along the outside of my thong. “Don’t stop.”

Grabbing both sides of my dress, he lifted it up, pulling me away from the wall so he could yank it off completely.

“Lean toward the wall, place your hands above your head and stick your ass out for me.”

I did as I was told; all the while, he was running the tips of his fingers up and down my spine.

  “You’re so beautiful.”

I turned my head and looked behind me to see him unbuttoning his dress shirt. He was glorious underneath his clothes, although I hadn’t been able to fully appreciate what he looked like with his pants off, too. When I saw him naked in his bathroom that night, I wasn’t exactly looking at him in a sexual way to appreciate his hard-earned muscular lines.

Meeting his gaze, he smirked at me as he removed his shirt, tossing it to the ground. Then he grabbed my hips and leaned forward, placing his lips on my shoulder blade, kissing his way down.

I looked away, dropping my head again, and closed my eyes. I savored every delicate touch of his lips on my skin.

He slowly worked his way down then licked the skin right above my thong, and I moaned in anticipation. Slowly, he grabbed the material between his teeth and started pulling them down until they eventually fell on their own.

With my ass sticking out for him to do as he wished, I waited not so patiently for what he might do. What I didn’t expect was for him to spank my ass, causing a yelp to escape my lips.

I felt him get closer to me as he ran a hand from my ass all the way up until his fingers splayed in my hair, grabbing a handful and tilting my head back.

“I wanted to go slow with you, bu
t I need this,” he confessed as he reached his other hand around to slide a finger between my lips, rubbing my clit in the process.

My mouth hung open and moans escaped as his finger worked its way up and down as his other hand tightened in my hair.

  “Then take it,” I commanded.

I needed this just as much as he did. My body could only take so much sexual tension before I’d go into a frenzy. I was also learning that Mason was more open with his thoughts in a sexual setting.

Removing his hands from my flushed body, I heard him rustle with his clothes then felt him rub the head of his dick at my opening.

He pulled me away from the wall slightly then pressed his hand on my back, lowering me into a better position.

I was completely exposed and ready for him. Ready to be taken to a level of pleasure only he’d ever shown me. When he finally entered me, I let out a moaned sigh of content.

He grabbed on to my hips, pulling me back to meet his thrusts. It was slow at first, but then he quickly gained momentum. I wasn’t able to contain how vocal I was and hoped like hell Lexi had gone home for the night.

With every hard thrust, he pounded into me; air was pushed from my lungs, causing me to be louder. I loved every minute of it. Hearing him groan behind me with his fingers digging in to my hips was such a turn-on.

“You feel so fucking good, Emma,” he breathed.

He removed one hand from my hip and brought it around to my breast, squeezing it before he pulled down the material and pinched my nipple.

My core pulsated at his touch and I could feel my orgasm looming.

Unable to control my need, I pushed back on him and lowered my hand to rub my finger through my wetness.

Just one touch caused my knees to start shaking. I closed my eyes and bowed my head, concentrating on every touch, every feeling he caused within me.

“That’s right, princess. Make yourself come all over my cock.”

I moaned in response as my fingers rubbed harder. I wasn’t one for sex talk, but Mason’s voice was so deep, husky, and sexy. It was what I needed to push me over the edge.

Rubbing my clit faster a few more times and feeling him hit that spot deep inside me, the dam broke and I moaned loud as my orgasm took over. My body became weak, but Mason wrapped an arm around my waist to hold me up. Still driving into me, he grunted at every thrust until he finally seated himself deep inside, groaning his own release.

It was euphoric, a moment I didn’t want to end. But all too quickly, he pulled out and I immediately felt empty.

It amazed me how he could make me feel. Nobody else before him made me yearn to be filled and to stay filled. At that very moment, I wanted him back inside me, to control and command my body.

I stayed where I was, leaning against the wall, willing my legs to stop shaking. I heard a door open and turned my head to see Mason walking into the house through the French doors. His pants were on, but left unbuttoned. I suddenly felt way too naked and pulled away from the wall in search of my underwear. Spotting them on the floor a few feet away, I slipped them on then fixed my boobs, adjusting my bra back into place.

So much for eating dinner, I thought as I smiled to myself. I picked up my discarded dress and pulled it over my head. I could smell the food that was abandoned on the table and looked at it longingly as my stomach growled.

“I’d like to say that I’m sorry our dinner went cold, but I’m not.” Mason smiled devilishly, walking through the doors.

I straightened out my dress as he strode toward me, his pants already buttoned.

“Would you like to take the food inside and warm it up? Maybe now I can eat and not focus so much on your lips,” he stated as he leaned down, brushing his own lips against my forehead.

I felt my skin flush as I laughed.

“Yes, I don’t want that steak to go to waste,” I answered, moving toward the table to pick up my plate.

After he grabbed his as well, we made our way back into the kitchen and I followed him toward the microwave. It was set in the far right corner of the counter and looked completely out of place. I’d assume if he had a kitchen this fancy and a cook, they didn’t need to have one. Mason didn’t look like the kind of guy who popped popcorn every now and then.

After our food was heated and he’d poured us glasses of water, I walked with him toward the bar stools. Mason grabbed some silverware along the way and placed them down beside my plate when we finally took a seat.

I dug into the food and closed my eyes as I chewed, savoring the flavor.

  “Have you had many boyfriends?”

I swallowed and turned my head to look at him.

“Excuse me?” I asked. I thought I’d heard him wrong.

“Have you had many boyfriends?” he asked genuinely. He looked completely unaffected by asking me something so personal, so I was going to take that as my cue that I could do the same.

“Around four,” I stated, then placed some vegetables in my mouth. “And you?” I asked, raising a brow. “You said you’ve never dated, right?”

He took a bite of his steak and shook his head. “No.”

I turned my body toward him, ready to start asking some real questions.

“How is that even possible? You’re so…I mean, look at you. I can’t imagine you were ugly when you were young.”

  He chuckled.

“Relationships were of no interest to me,” he answered flatly.

  “But why?”

He regarded me with a furrowed brow then turned to stare at his food. I studied him as he pushed his vegetables around his plate. The way he acted about relationships made me wonder what had happened to him when he was younger. Maybe someone broke his heart. Maybe his mother’s death was too hard on him. I could see it going both ways, and I wouldn’t fault him for not wanting to talk about it. I really shouldn’t be pushing him to answer anything. I knew he was a private person, never divulging any specifics so nothing would get printed in the papers. And he didn’t seem like someone who trusted easily.

He was quiet as he took another bite of his food, and I figured he probably wouldn’t answer me. I also tried not to overanalyze the fact that he stated relationships were of no interest to him and not are, as in present tense.

“My life has always been complicated. There was never any room for anything else.”

I looked at him as he spoke then turned to my food. I didn’t want to question his vague answer, so I moved on to a different topic.

“Have you ever been in love?” I knew I shouldn’t have asked as soon as the words left my lips. I was getting too personal to the point where I was starting to feel uncomfortable. We’d just had a sexually enhanced encounter, and I was ruining it with my curiosity.

Curiosity killed the cat, but I would never learn.

I turned slowly to see he was still staring at his food, his eyebrows furrowed. He suddenly turned to me.

“You’re going to be a great lawyer.”

The statement made me laugh. “You think so?” I asked, taking a sip of my water.

He smirked. “You know how to ask the hard questions without a second thought. You’re passionate, and you seek the truth.”

I knew he was referring to my little interrogation, but I wasn’t trying to ask him hard questions. I was simply attempting to get to know him better.

I turned toward him again, abandoning my food. It was delicious and I really wanted to eat it, but I could only focus on him.

He turned toward me as well, and my eyes drifted down to his still-uncovered chest, examining every ripple that appeared as he slouched in his seat. Then my eyes traveled up to the stubble on his face. I lifted my hand and placed it on his cheek, tracing it with my fingers. He briefly closed his eyes at my touch and I smiled.

I wish he’d open up, even just a little. I wanted to know if I affected him as much as he affected me.

We looked deep into each other’s eyes, as if we were both trying to mentally read the other.

“I’m not trying to interrogate you, Mason. I feel like you know me so well, but I hardly know you at all. I just want the playing field to be equal.”

He rose from his seat and pulled me up with him. A determined expression on his face caused me to look at him in bewilderment.

He grabbed my hand and tugged me with him down the hall, past the stairs, and to the right into his office. Dropping my hand, he walked directly to his bar and poured himself a drink.

I guessed I could count this as a fact about Mason. He treasured his scotch.

He brought the glass to his lips and sipped it generously before turning toward me.

“I’m not the one who gets asked the questions. I’m usually the one that does the asking, the commanding. My life has always been about control,” he stated as he slowly made his way back to me. “You’re going to want to know the why’s of my life, be curious of the reason I do the things I do, but the fact is there are things I’ll never divulge.”

My heart raced as he moved closer. There was no amusement of any kind on his face. His expression was inscrutable, but he still had that alluring appeal. I could tell his mood had done a one-eighty, my big mouth going too far. Which, in a sense, seemed so silly to me. I was just asking questions, but obviously I’d hit a nerve.

We stood toe to toe as he drank the rest of his scotch, placing the glass on the table in the middle of the room, in front of the couch.

Lifting his hand, he rubbed his knuckles down my cheek then leaned in to kiss me. It was unexpected, but I was all too willing to participate. It was a slow kiss, teasing and biting, causing my insides to twist with need once again.

I lifted my arms to wrap around his neck but he grabbed them, stopping me in my tracks before he slowly pulled away.

He gazed into my eyes somberly.

“I loved once, but it was taken away from me.”

And just like that, he moved completely away from me and headed back to the bar.

I gazed at his back as he walked away, processing the little bit of information he’d just given me. I had questions at the tip of my tongue.

The stupid part of my brain forced me to open my mouth to ask another, but thankfully I was stopped by the sound of the doorbell ringing.
