“Um, I’m sorry,” Danni mumbled into her napkin. Mortification making her blush, she had just crammed the pizza in her face like a pig in public. He must be regretting taking such a freak out to eat. Wiping her lips she bowed her head and crumpled the napkin in her fist. With her head down she could see a red sauce glob slowly running down the front of her shirt. She swiped at it and felt completely like a child when it smeared all over her front.
“Look up.” Her head jerked up as his voice was a whisper in her ear. He has silently gotten up and slid into the booth next to her. One arm going around her shoulders the other to her mortification holding a wet napkin.
“I think I saw a mother spit in a napkin earlier and wipe her kids face with it.” She titled her face away in disgust as he laughed softly.
“As much as I’d like to say I’d do that to you, I had to forethought to dip my napkin in my water.” He was still smiling as he gently began to wipe away the missed pizza sauce on her cheeks. She felt wrapped up in his embrace, he was all hard working body parts but warm and a feeling of welcome radiated off of him. Even though she felt like a child being treated this way in another it was nice to be touched even in the most clinical of ways. He moved down and began wiping off the front of her shirt where she had managed to smear her dinner. He efficiently cleaned her off but she could feel his hand and warmth through her clothes. Feel it when he ran his hand over her nipples gently rubbing them under her shirt. They instantly hardened against his touch and she squirmed a little in her seat. The feeling like the first night coming back with vengeance, maybe something was wrong with her, perhaps she wasn’t calibrated correctly after the last job.
“Tilt your face up for me, I missed a spot.” His voice was dark and inmate as if he knew what she was feeling. She did as he asked and he dabbed the napkin on a cheek. He was looking in her eyes and at her lips and slowly, he bent down and kissed her lips lightly. Just a warm tangle of breath and a whisper of pressure that made all the tension flow out of her body like a balloon deflating. He climbed out of the booth, paid for the food and led her out toward the car. “Danni don’t worry so much everything is going to be ok.” For some reason she almost believed him.
The weather was turning from slightly overcast to downright chilly as they climbed out of the car and walked toward the staging for debriefing. Danni looked over at Simon as he walked toward their boss who was standing off to the side of the building she was going to be deployed inside as soon as they had been updated on the latest intelligence. Everyone was bundled up in long coats, scarves and hats as she stood in her skin tight body suit looking like a surfer missing her board. Danni rubbed her hands together to keep them from freezing, Simon noticed and frowned. Turing away she eyed the building as their boss gave a rundown of the situation inside.
“Twelve hostages all in one room, the micro drones are reporting back only minor traces of explosive materials. Only one gun man has been reported as being seen by neighbors. We have no data on who he is and he has refused all contact.”
Danni listened knowing that time was of the essence. The government had completely overhauled the protocol for hostage situations. All hostage situations now fell under a special branch of Homeland Security and were classified as a terrorist acts. Terrorism had been a harsh taskmaster but the country had learned. New technologies had been developed like the nanites in her blood. A large amount of the money now went into research to stop the spread of terrorism and she was an outcome of that research funding. Where the old hostage protocols often called for non-negotiation and slow response from SWAT teams, Danni was always ready and could arrive within 30 minutes of any event in the area she covered. Bionites just like her were stationed evenly throughout the United States so that response time could be quick. Hostage and terrorist events had a three multilateral approach with negations, emergency services and Bionites.
Simon crossed over to her grabbing her hands and rubbing them between his own, careful to block his actions with his body so that no one could see what he was doing. “I will be right behind you as soon as we get the go ahead for support. I’ll be in constant contact with you during the entire operation.” He didn’t really sound thrilled at her going inside the building without him, “are you ready for deployment?”
“I’m ready.”
The building was older according to her nanites relaying the blueprint in her mind with a map leading to where the micro drones had found a barricaded room with heat signatures of 13 people. The people were standing in a strange formation in the small room. No one was moving. This was a tactic used by some of the more knowledgeable hostage takers, they knew if they could make their signatures indistinguishable from their victims a drone couldn’t tell who was who and just shoot through the wall. For some reason as she walked silently down the hall toward the room, she thought of Simon. The last few weeks had been completely different than her entire life. He was attentive, caring, always touching her. He was always introducing her to new things like movie night and console games. Her favorite being date night. Date night was when he took her to restaurants to introduce foods he loved, concerts of bands he thought she would like, or just a simple walk down a pretty street holding her hand. He was always touching her and she gloried in it. She tried to keep her thoughts on her work instead of the ice cream fight they had the night before that ended with something he called ‘hot tongue lashings’ for the both of them. Nothing more than a silly game of tongue, teeth and lips but in the end they had been rolling around on the floor of his room laughing at the mess they had made. It had been fun and carefree. She wished she could recapture that feeling right now instead of feeling dread in her stomach for what was to come.
Instead of trying to make her way through the barricade she went up, into the drop ceiling. The micro drones had been hard at work silently screwing hooks into the floor above so she could easily move from hook to hook each one perfectly installed for her height and reach. Finally over the room she carefully lifted a corner of the tile and put a small wireless camera that relayed information to her nanites and to the crew waiting outside. She hung in that place for an hour before she could detect who the gunman was. He stood still in the 2nd row of people pretending to be one of the hostages. Finally he gave up his disguise and began to threaten a little girl who was standing in front of him because she had created a little puddle of pee near him. He was distracted so she immediately released the new trigger that the drones had installed to drop the entire ceiling down on everyone. Falling she thrust her hand through and shot the man with a combo sedative and target tracker, now every gun outside and her own would find him as the target. White dust covered everything as he shook his head while she crashed down above him. He fell back on to the floor again with her on top of him but he quickly recovered and butted her in the face with the shotgun he had hidden under his coat. She flew backward off him, stars behind her lids as she fought for consciousness. Her nanites racing to repair the damage and protect her brain from any potential concussion, when a blast hit her in the right arm. The pain was overwhelming. But instead of her body shutting down the nanites kept her going. She took aim and blew his face off. The little girl to her left was screaming as blood splattered her face.
Simon could not stand still and as soon as the ok was given to enter the building and help facilitate the extraction he ran all the way to the barricade and started trying to rip through it to the door. Once he moved the last piece of debris out of the way he opened the door and people started running out being directed by the emergency team. Danni was sitting on the floor with her face cradled in one hand as one shoulder slumped at an odd angle. He made a soft noise at her injured state and she looked up. Blood was gushing from a cut on her head and it looked like her nose was broken. When he went to pick her up she stopped him with a hand in the air. His eyes zeroed in on her bloodstained fingers, he was killing mad.
His boss began pulling him back out of the door, “She’s always been left alone for th
e initial heal. It’s going to be very painful for the next hour or so.”
Simon wasn’t having any of it he pushed right back into the door, past her hand waving him away and sat down behind her. He could feel the wet ground soaking his pants with blood and something that smelled terribly close to urine but he didn’t care. He just gently pulled her back so she could rest against his chest while she healed. If she was going through pain for saving 12 people the least he could do was be there for her. And it was pain, when the nanites started repairing her arm it glowed with an inner light that was red hot. He had to shift her so her skin didn’t touch him because the repairing side was starting to burn him. Through it all she squeezed his hand and let her head sag against him. “I will always be here for you.” He whispered for her alone.
Their days followed a pattern after that. An increase in potential situations had them traveling around their precinct daily. Danni had sunk deep inside herself and Simon was worried he couldn’t reach her. She seldom talked. She let him guide her to his bed each night just so he could hold her, but she would simply fall asleep and turn her back to him as soon she hit the bed. He wanted to squeeze her and show her that life could be good. She didn’t have to shut down and shut him out, but he felt like he was losing her. She kept distancing herself, her smiles were seldom and she rarely spoke.
As they drove away from the job where she had taken down three bank robbers that had taken hostages Danni just looked forlornly out the car window. She was as closed off as she had ever been and it was driving him crazy. He wondered if maybe he had been wrong, maybe she didn’t feel what he felt for her. What he thought was a connection when he first met her had grown into something like full blown love. He loved her and he wanted her to be happy, but if he was making her worse he had to do something about it. So instead of driving home he called his boss.
“Can we take a few days off? Danni has never seen the ocean in person and I’d like her to see it.” There had been a lot of grumbling on the other end of the line and he had to promise to be in constant contact and ready for immediate departure by plane if they needed to return to a situation. He agreed and drove the three hours toward the coast. Danni never said anything the entire drive just watched the scenery pass her by.
Danni watched as Simon paid for the room they were going to stay in. It was a simple motel that sat on a beach. She couldn’t see the water but she could hear it rushing back and forth in a soothing rhythm. Things smelled different here, the air was different here. She followed Simon to the small room they were going to share. It an old motel but the room was nice, it had a view of the ocean she supposed in the day light, a little fireplace. The word cozy came to mind. She sensed he was watching her. There was only one bed and a couple of chairs with a table. No television which suited her as because she was more interested in seeing the ocean then spending time looking at the TV.
“Why are we here?”
Simon didn’t look like he was going to say anything just kept unpacking the extra clothing they had stored in the trunk of the car in case something happened and they were hospitalized after a job.
“I needed to get away.”
“With me,” She stated.
“With you,” was his reply.
With that he started undressing, in front of her. With nothing else to watch she just watched him. The slow revealing of his body was thrilling, she loved his body. Loved the little flaws, the scars, the perfections all of it. She was falling for him, but she couldn’t let herself. Since the first job they had done together she saw their differences. He was big, bold, blond, sweet and gentle. He was the sun and she was a cloud. She was small, dark and complicated. He was bound to her by a contract that couldn’t be broken. Stuck with her and she thought maybe he was making the best of it. So she distanced herself from him. He kept pushing trying to break her solitude but nothing had reached her.
Now she stood watching him walk away his firm perfect ass flexing as he went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. She stood as she listened to him get into the shower. Slowly she moved toward the door, he stood under the water a hand slowly reaching toward her. Beckoning. She took it. Not sure what she was doing, not sticking her to plan she took his hand and he pulled her fully clothed into the shower with him. He laughed and laughed and then slowly started to peel the wet clothing away. Layer after layer leaving her exposed to him. She had never been naked like this in front of anyone. Before it had always been a clinic setting by doctors but his look was anything but clinical. She kept watching his face, wouldn’t look down. He grinned and tore into the little packet of soap. She watched as he built up a soapy mass of bubbles that covered both his hands and dripped down between them. “This is going to be fun,” He said with a smile.
He ran his hands all over her body, the lather coating her making her look like she was wearing a bubbling dress. He hummed as he did it, a happy little tune just for her. He touched everything but not aggressively, just light touches here and there. She couldn’t hide her excitement and when his hands cupped her breasts. She was all in. She rubbed herself against his fingers. She started touching him too, learning the feel of his skin. He kissed the side of her neck then laughed as he stuck his tongue out at her because it was covered in soapy suds. She washed his chest and his back but avoided anything below the waist. She knew he was hard and big, but she didn’t want to make things become too serious. She wanted fun and he was happy to not push her for once. They played and joked and it made her feel like something she had lost was returned.
“Come on my little pickle time to get out and get dried off. I’m starving.” He dried himself off first then dried her. Slowly he ran the towel over her body telling her each spot he liked the most. Then snapped the towel on her butt to break the spell he was weaving and they dressed in fresh clothes.
“Time to enjoy the finer things in life,” he announced with a smile, which ended up being Chinese takeout in front of their little fireplace. Later that night when they settled into sleep he talked. He told her he was afraid, afraid she might not feel ok with any of this. Her distance had hurt him. That he was never going to walk away from her even if she walked away from him. He would do what it took to make her happy even if that meant he couldn’t hold her anymore. That he would wait until she was ready. She lightly kissed his lips and snuggled into his arms. Like so many times he had told her, she returned his words. “Everything will be ok.” They slept in each other’s arms that night, just held on to each other against the world outside their room. The peace so needed cocooning around them, protecting them if only for a night.
Simon could feel himself pushing his naked flesh against her body underneath him. His erection hard and throbbing straining for the wet junction between her legs but he couldn’t get close enough. He could feel his hips beat at her repeatedly his cock searching to find the slick wet opening to her body. His brow creased in frustration as he hunched his sweat slicked shoulders trying to find her. Confusion in his brain made him groan in frustration. Why couldn’t he reach her, she was right here under him but it was as if she was a ghost taunting him with her beautiful little breasts and pink lips. Her rare smile made him crazed to kiss it. She was calling to him saying his name over and over, the sound of her voice made his cock swell and his whole body tighten ready to explode into ecstasy. He felt her grabbing his shoulder, yeah, he liked that, he wanted her to dig her nails into him and mark him like he wanted to mark her. He wanted her so badly but something wasn’t right.
“Simon!” He jerked awake her hand still on his shoulder but she wasn’t under him, only his 9 inch cock was and it was aching with lust. “There’s been an incident we need to suit up and go the plane is a 5 minute drive.” Simon rolled over from the mattress he had been practically fucking in the best and worst almost wet dream ever.
Eyeing Danni he saw she was still standing by the bed but not looking him in the face anymore she was staring a little lower. Her eyes curious as embarrassment crept up
her neck in a red wave of color. His erection even though covered by a thin sheet across his hips was standing up between them, proudly jerking under the sheet as if in approval of her appearance. Danni made a couple of sounds like she meant to say something but couldn’t form the words. Simon watched her lips wishing there was time to pull her down and taste them. On impulse he grasped her wrist and made her jump at the unexpected contact. He placed her palm flat on his rigid abs and slowly trailed her fingers down under the sheet. He shoved her hand over the top of his flesh which was already drooling with pre-cum. That’s all it took one touch and he went off, cum shooting to coat her hand and his while he cried out. His eyes opened and saw she was still watching his face. He liked that she had watched him cum. Loved that he could see there was no disgust at what he had done, just a soft heated look in her eyes. She pulled her hand away and brought it to her lips popping a finger in her mouth as if she had just dipped it in frosting instead of his cum. The look on her face showed she wasn’t repulsed by his taste and he was instantly glad that something of him was inside her in some small way.
He wanted to groan all over again at his thoughts but instead he quickly got out of bed washed himself and got suited up for work. When he returned she was already waiting by the door suited and ready. She didn’t look him in the face or even speak the entire ride to the site her expression told him all he needed to know. She was thinking about what was to come next. As soon as they stepped off of the plane all thoughts of sex fled his mind as survival was now the only thing that mattered.
