Heather's Challenge [Cattleman's Club 4] (Siren Publishing Ménage Everlasting) Page 22

by Jenny Penn

He knew just what she wanted, just what she needed. Fucking her with deep, quick strokes, he stroked the fires within her until Heather knew nothing but his touch and the ecstasy mushrooming through her in endless waves of soul-shattering delight. She’d never felt such exquisite sensations before as Alex used his lips, tongue, teeth and even a few fingers to drive her from one peak to another and suddenly it wasn’t a lack of releases that endangered Heather’s sanity but the indulgence of one too many.

Each, new climax exploded brighter, hotter until the rapture ripped through her with such intensity Heather couldn’t control her cries or the commands that fell out with them, but no matter how hard she begged and pleaded for something more, something harder, thicker, Alex denied her, leaving her sheath to tighten down around the less-filling length of his fingers.

“Hey you two,” Nick hollered out, banging on the bathroom door. “This is supposed to be about the kids, not about making kids.”

Heather froze as the sound of amusement coating Nick’s words sliced through her pleasure soaked brain bringing her back to the hard reality of the moment. She was in a bathroom. A public bathroom. At her son’s afterschool camp.

Oh God, she was the worst mother in the world and an absolute fool to have thought that she could take on Alex…though, technically she had won. Heather knew it was wrong of her to think it but she couldn’t help but feel a little smug over the fact that she’d just gotten five orgasms instead of just one, and Alex…Alex had gotten nothing.

“Son of a bitch,” Alex snarled, sounding anything but satisfied.

“Alex?” Nick pounded on the door. “You hearing me?”

“I hear you, now go the fuck away,” Alex snapped, his heated breath fanning across her intimate flesh in a wicked caress that sent a naughty thrill through Heather.

If Taylor hadn’t been one of the kids Nick was referring to then she probably would have reached down to taunt Alex and stroke that thrill back into another inferno. The fact that she considered the idea anyway just went to prove how dangerous Alex really was to her sanity.

“No can do, not until I hear from Miss Lawson,” Nick stubbornly insisted.

“I’m fine,” she assured him with a smile all for Alex. “In fact, fine doesn’t even begin to describe it.”

That earned her a laugh from Nick and even had the tips of Alex’s lips quivering upward as his expression lightened for a moment. His words, though, cut hard and crisp through the air as he barked at Nick.

“You heard her. Now go away.”

She didn’t know if he obeyed, but Nick sure as hell shut up, leaving Heather and Alex eyeing each other as he rose up off his knees and she slid down off the counter. Silence reigned for a long, thoughtful minute as each sized the other up, but eventually Heather broke it as she offered Alex a smug smile.

  “Well, that was interesting.”

“Is that what you would call it?”

“Actually, I would call it a checkmate, but…I should probably wait until I’m dressed to gloat.” Not that Heather was going to. After all, she could get dressed and gloat at the same time. “You do know that Konor intended to make me wait three more days for an orgasm, and he was planning on tormenting me before he let me come, but you…”

Heather paused to offer Alex another selfishly contented smile. “You gave it up real easy, didn’t you?”

That question had his jaw flexing as he held back his response, but she could still read it in the dangerous narrowing of his gaze. He was pissed because she had won and they both knew it, just as they both knew that he was already planning for the rematch. So was Heather, only she didn’t intend on waiting to claim another victory.

She planned on having it right there and then. Given the small muscle ticking in his cheek, Heather expected it wouldn’t take much to break him either. Even if he didn’t give in, it would still be fun to torment him a little more.

Stretching with a sensual ease, Heather arched her back with a groan that had Alex’s gaze darkening as it narrowed on her breasts. Swollen and aching from the lack of attention, they silently begged for just one little touch, maybe a pinch, or even a nibble, but Alex denied her.

He managed to restrain the desires she could see swirling in his eyes, but Heather was far from ready to give up. The deciding to reverse directions, she bent over reaching for her panties. Allowing her lips to come within a breath of the massive correction tenting his sweats, she eyed the pearly white tears weeping from the blind eye of the bulbous cockhead peeking out from under the elastic waistband.

Heather could imagine the amount of self-control it was costing Alex to remain still, especially when she allowed her tongue slide out and lap up the proof of his need. He might have been the one who shuddered, but she was the one who groaned.

He tasted salty, like a man, and she wanted more, but Heather didn’t dare to take it. There would be time and off for that later, time enough for everything. Right then, she had no choice but to admit defeat. That didn’t mean she had to be happy about the delay. Neither did it mean she couldn’t get a different type of revenge.

“And you forgot to get your own.” Heather tsked as she reached for the bra dangling from the corner of the vanity’s countertop.

Sliding the straps over her shoulders, she lifted the lacy cups over her breasts, but hesitated over the clasp to glance down. Plumping up both breasts in her hands, she lifted her gaze to capture his and watch his eyes darken as she thumbed her own nipples.

The wicked little thrill her touch sent skipping down her spine paled in comparison to the warm anticipation that tightened in her stomach as Alex flexed before her, his muscles cording and bulging under the strain of resisting her.

“And to think Konor was planning on using a pair of clamps on these sweet tits…oh, well.” Heather released them with a shrug, making quick work of snapping the bra’s clasp together and adjusting the cups so they fit just right. “No point indulging those barbaric fantasies when I got a man like you who knows how to service me just right.”

Heather tossed Alex a wink and then boldly turned her back on him to step into her sweats. She bent over, giving her ass a little shake and held her breath, fully hoping that her taunting would see her taken to her knees and pumped full of the deliciously-sized boner Alex kept leashed behind his sweats, but the bastard didn’t give into the temptation she offered him.

Heather had a hard time hiding her disappointment as she pulled her own sweats up, but she managed to smile as she shoved her panties into her pocket and turned back to face Alex. He still looked rock hard and like he was made of stone. That was a good thing for a man to be.

Now she just had to convince him to be useful.

“And you certainly weren’t lying. You really do know what you are about,” Heather assured him in a husky murmur as she dared to place her hands on the strong, smooth curve of his shoulders and stretched up to drop a chaste kiss on his cheek.

The muscle beneath her lips ticked as the tips of her breast brushed against the heated wall of his chest. She could feel the ticklish rumble that echoed through him but didn’t care to linger and savor the moment as she eased back to offer him a smile.

“So I guess I owe you a thank you.”

“That’s not all you owe me,” Alex retorted, his words sounding like they’d been dragged over glass as he finally broke his silence. “And don’t think I won’t collect what I’m due.”

Heather smiled, letting him know she wasn’t the least bit intimidated by that threat. She even dared to turn her back on him as she busied with her shirt and sweats. Only once she’d re-secured the length of rope she’d been using as a belt back around her waist, did she dare to turn back and face him.

Schooling her features into as calm a look as she could manage, Heather set her terms. “One week. Sex only. You have until tomorrow to decide.”

With that, she brushed past him, undid the lock, and sauntered out of the bathroom with her head held high.

br />   Chapter 19

Konor watched Heather strutting across the field and knew that things had gone well between her and Alex, perhaps a little too well, given the curl of her smile. His gaze narrowed on the pink glow tinting her cheeks, suspecting it had little to do with the afternoon’s heat. Heather looked happy.

One might even have described her as satisfied. Alex, on the other hand, looked anything but when he finally appeared nearly a half hour later. The brooding glare darkening his features assured Konor that his suspicions were not only right, but that the situation was even worse than he imagined. How bad became clear as the day wore on.

Like a balloon that had been cut free from a heavy weight, Heather bobbed happily along, floating high and light through the remainder of the obstacle course while Alex churned behind her a seething caldron of pent-up desires that had nowhere to go but into anger, which explained why he was short and abrupt with just about everybody.

Konor couldn’t help but notice that the shorter Alex’s temper wore, the bigger Heather’s grin grew. In fact, she appeared to be taunting him, their roles suddenly reversed as Heather wiggled and rubbed all over Alex, taking every opportunity the course presented to grind against him. She knew what she was doing to him, and she was enjoying herself.

Of course she didn’t know how dangerous the game she was playing could become. Konor did. After all, Alex wasn’t known for his restraint, much less his patience. Thankfully, though, Taylor appeared completely clueless. Buoyed by his mother’s good mood, whatever concerns that had plagued the kid during Heather’s absence seem to be completely forgotten as both mother and son attacked the remainder of the course with renewed zeal

Alex, on the other hand, went from capable of at least short word responses to completely incoherent grunts by the time they made it to the last obstacle. An oversized hamster wheel, the obstacle required both buddy and squire to run fast enough to make it up the side of the wheel to ring a bell hung several feet higher that anyone could stretch.

It was considered the hardest obstacle, requiring not only strength and endurance when most contestants were tired and worn, but also a good bit of luck. Konor didn’t think he had any of that left, but despite his pessimistic view, he and Taylor actually managed to get pretty damn lucky and ring the bell within a minute.

Heather and Alex—not so lucky. Of course, it would have helped if Heather had been trying to do something more than constantly fall onto Alex. It was almost laughable to watch Taylor cheering them on with Heather shouting back her own encouragements even as she ground herself against Alex in a clumsy attempt to regain her feet.

The move might have fooled her son, but it didn’t fool Konor, or Nick.

“Well, I see I haven’t been missed.” Stepping up beside Konor, Nick watched as Alex followed Heather at a slower, more cautious pace explained by the enormous bulge in his sweats. “Heather is certainly enjoying herself. Alex not so much, huh?”

“This situation is out of control,” Konor muttered, wondering exactly how he was going to get it back on track.

“You’re telling me.” Nick snorted, managing to sound aggrieved, though Konor couldn’t even begin to guess at what his problem, not that he had to. Nick was more than eager to complain.

“I mean seriously, dude, this is supposed to be a PG event and look at them out there. If Alex gets it any bigger he’s going to trip himself up with the damn trunk he’s got hanging between his legs...You know, I don’t remember him being that well-endowed.”

“That’s because he’s normally not,” Konor assured him. “It’s just Heather’s special effect on him, I guess.”

Nick snorted at that. “Trust me, they may come in all different shapes and sizes and even a range of colors, but in the end, all women are the same.”

Konor didn’t agree. Heather was special, but if Nick couldn’t see it then he wasn’t going to point it out to him. There was no need to encourage extra competition, especially when it sounded like Heather had done that all on her own.

“But I will give you that the woman is wild. You should have heard the noise she was making earlier.” Nick’s lips quivered with a dangerous smile that Konor didn’t like the look of at all. “The boys working in the kitchen got an earful... And then some.”

“Heather always said she wasn’t concerned about modesty.” Konor guessed she wasn’t lying. She certainly wasn’t shy about coordinating her falls so that her ass landed in Alex’s lap almost every time she fell over, which actually was kind of a talent.

“Trust me, I get that,” Nick drawled out as he eyed Heather with something more than simple curiosity. “Perhaps it’s time to break this up and save Alex before he actually gets hurt or even worse—he snaps.”

Konor didn’t buy that line for a moment, but he didn’t bother to stop Nick either. Instead, he allowed Alex to handle the matter. Not surprisingly he didn’t take kindly to other man’s attempt to interfere, but he didn’t yell at Nick or even take a swing. He just glared at him, refusing to either respond or move and until Heather finally stepped in.

While he couldn’t hear what she said, Konor could see her deny Nick when the other man offered her his arm. Instead, Heather chose to walk away with Taylor, leaving both men in her dust, just where Konor suspected she intended to leave him, too. That wasn’t going to happen.

All Konor had to do was figure out a way to assure it didn’t. That was no simple task when Taylor left to join the rest of the squires waiting to be knighted in the closing ceremony, leaving Heather unattended and unaware of Alex stalking her through the crowd gathered to watch their little buddies be declared men.

“And just where the hell do you think you’re going?” Moving quickly to cut off his best friend, Konor stepped up to block Alex’s path and even dared to place a hand on Alex’s chest, holding him back.

“Where do you think?” Alex shot back, jerking away from Konor’s hand before trying to step around him, but Konor shifted with him, refusing to give way despite Alex’s demand. “Get gone! This is my battle.”

“No, it’s ours,” Konor corrected him. “And you’re about to blow it.”

“No, that’s not what is going to get blown. Now step aside,” Alex ordered. “Heather owes me my turn.”

“No.” Konor held his ground. “There is not going to be any more turns. Not here. Not now. Not until we come to some kind of understanding.”

Alex spared a quick glance at the men not even bothering to disguise the fact that they were watching Alex and Konor, no doubt expecting a fight to break out. Hell, Konor was half expecting it to as well, but Alex surprised him when he took another step back.

“Fine. Later, but you better come up with at least three good reasons I should listen to you at all. You’ve got until the end of the day.”

Konor needed every second because he knew what Alex really meant by “good” reasons. He didn’t mean logical or even sane ones. No, he’d want a reason that proved he would benefit from agreeing with Konor’s plans. Waiting had to present some kind of reward, and so did obedience, and if Konor wanted either one from Alex, he better come up with something Alex wanted more than Heather…which was nothing.

Despite the fact that he spent the entire celebratory feast racking his mind for even one good reason, he had nothing. Nothing that would impress Alex, leaving him with only one argument to make as Heather drove off with her if the trays and her exhausted son packed into her little hatchback.

Heather hadn’t bothered to give him a goodbye, but instead had shot him a smugly superior look that assured him he was being dismissed. Her smile didn’t dip a bit as she cast a more speculative look in Alex’s direction and reminded him he had one day to give her his answer.

Konor had even less time than that. A lot less. In fact, Alex didn’t even give him a whole minute after she’d disappeared from sight before turning on him with a scowl in place.

  “Well?”

“I got nothing,” Konor admitted, drawing a sn
ort from Alex.

“Then I got to go, man.”

“Just because I don’t have a good reason, doesn’t mean I don’t have any reasons,” Konor hollered after Alex as he started across the parking lot toward Konor’s truck.

“I don’t care if you got a pot full of gold. I’m gone.” Alex shot back over his shoulder as he marched determinedly forward.

Heather clearly had him rattled. That much became obvious when the flaw in his plan didn’t dawn on Alex until he came to a stop beside the driver’s door. He glared up at Konor’s truck for a long second before heaving an obvious sigh and turning to storm back toward Konor.

“Keys,” Alex commanded, holding a hand out.

“You’re making a mistake,” Konor insisted, ignoring Alex’s hand and demand.

  “No, I’m not. Keys.”

Konor stared at Alex’s hand while Alex stared at him. That lasted for a good five seconds before Alex growled and dropped his arm before turning to storm off.

“Now where are you going?” Konor called out after him.

“To find a ride back into town,” Alex tossed over his shoulder, leaving Konor no choice this time but to jog after him.

  “You’re playing into her hand.”

  “We’re playing the same hand.”

“Really?” Konor latched onto Alex’s elbow and jerked him around, forcing Alex to face him. “And what exactly is she offering?”

Alex hesitated, his jaw clenching as the muscle in his cheek ticked, but finally he managed to growl out an answer. “Just sex…for one week.”

“And is that all you really want?” Konor asked, knowing it wasn’t. Of course, Alex wasn’t ready to admit that and he wouldn’t push him. Konor would let Heather do that. “Come on.”

Konor shoved past Alex, but the other man didn’t fall into step. Instead, he stood there begrudgingly glaring after Konor. “Where you going?”

“Where the hell do you think?” Konor shot back, tossing another smirk over his shoulder. “You coming?”
