“Say you will marry me. I’m giving you my mother’s ring.” And he placed it on her hand. Adrienne’s eyes opened wide. Surprise wasn’t all that affected her. What was she to say to him? First she had to tell him the truth. She hesitated and then looked him in his large earnest blue eyes.
“I have something to tell you,” she said to him.
“Not now. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve touched your breasts and felt you inside? I need you.” His hungry eyes traveled over her body and he placed his nose between her breasts ready to kiss them when he drew back. His eyes told the story. He was shocked. He couldn’t believe his senses. But he knew and she knew he knew.
“You have Lycell’s scent all over you. He stood glaring at her. “What did he do to you?”
“He didn’t do anything. Did Drayton tell you what happened?”
“I just returned today when he was leaving for town. He said that he would tell me later and that everything was OK. When I saw you, I thought that you had gone on your own to the cave to have the baby and you were returning.”
“It’s not quite that simple,” Adrienne said to Wilder. She took his hand and he sat next to her and she held it. “While you were gone...I don’t know how to say this.” Wilder didn’t help her fashion a sentence. He sat and waited for her to tell him. Her face grim and he knew something was wrong. “I had twins.”
“Where is the other one? Did he die?” His mouth fell into a hard line, his hand tightened on the railing of the bed in anticipation of her answer.
“No.”
“Then where is he?” Wilder stood trying to calm himself pacing in front of the window looking out and turning back to face her.
“I don’t know,” she said, her voice shrill, “but Lycell is trying to find him. We lost him near the stream by the cave.”
“What were you doing there?”
“I was captured by this werewolf and Lycell came to rescue me. He killed the werewolf that kidnapped me.” Wilder’s glance wandered around the room settling on his son. His eyes dark and dead. He looked at Adrienne.
“Why do you have Lycell’s scent all over you?”
“Because... we made love. Isn’t that what you wanted?” Adrienne said, her eyes begging Wilder to understand.
“Lycell is incapable of loving,” Wilder shouted and stormed over to face her and then backed away breathing heavy. He paced around the room breathing through his nostrils and mouth. Then turning away.
“How could you say such a thing? Lycell took care of me and your sons when you left me,” Adrienne chastised Wilder. Wilder turned and faced her. His brow smoothing.
“I thought it was what you wanted me to do, mate with them. Drayton said that is why you left me here with them, so I can learn to love them, and I do,” she said with tears escaping down her eyes.
“He rushed to Adrienne holding her in his arms and said, “I did. But I didn’t think I would feel the way I do about you. You’re mine.” He pushed her down on the bed and his face searched between her breasts. She leaned back and he was on top of her. He pulled the clothes off of Adrienne and threw everything to the floor. Wilder unzipped his jeans and Adrienne helped him remove them.
She hurriedly touched his warm cock and plunged it into her opening with a feeling of enjoyment and pleasure. He kissed her as he leaned into her and she took all of it. “It is so much better this way. You were so tight that I was afraid of hurting you. It’s been too long since I’ve been inside of you. I had forgotten how wonderful you felt and your smell. I love the smell of your skin.” Adrienne smiled and raised her hips and mound to deepen the sexual moment and with one thrust of her hips, she brought Wilder to an orgasm.
A soft knock came to the door. “Who is it,” Wilder said in a rough voice.
“It’s me, Mena.”
“Who is Mena?” Adrienne questioned eyes narrowing.
“A nurse for the babies and a playmate for Lycell.” He pulled his pants up and without a shirt he lumbered to the door. He opened it slightly. Breathless he said, “I’m coming down, my mate, I mean my fiancé is here.”
“Why are you announcing that I’m here? Maybe the playmate is for you.”
“If she was for me, then I wouldn’t have had an orgasm as quickly.” His eyes glanced down and Adrienne’s eyes followed. She could see the hardness form in the lines of his soft jeans. She could see the ache in his beautiful blue eyes. A hunger and need for her body. And she could feel a sexual pain grow inside her, but she was angry and it was his fault.
“Get out. Go to Mena. I have to feed your baby.” She stood near him and near the bassinet reaching for the closed eyed infant. She sat in the rocker made for her by Wilder after she cleaned her breast, and gave it to the sleepy infant, who found it easily and began nursing.
It was the most beautiful picture Wilder had seen, and he fell deeply in love with Adrienne.
Chapter 3
A soft knock fell on the door. “Who is it?”
“Wilder. Can I come in?”
“It’s your home you can do what you will.” Wilder opened the door hopeful Adrienne had calmed.
“It’s not my home. You have kept me here and I haven’t talked to my family. I don’t have a phone and I don’t have a computer. It’s torture and pure hell,” she said tossing the book she was reading on the bed.
“I did that for your own good,” Wilder said picking up the book and gazing at a sobbing Adrienne.
“For my own good? Like convince me to make love to your brothers and then look at me as if I’m a pariah, the worst female you’ve ever met.” She paused realizing what she was saying. “See, you have me referring to myself as a female. Then you bring some woman here...I don’t know what to think.”
“I’m going to look for my son. That’s why I’m here. No other reason,” Wilder said.
“What is wrong with you? And where is Drayton. I love him too. Do you plan on shutting all of us out by not speaking or talking us because you are caught in your own petty feelings? Drayton wants me too, and I want him, or are you going to find him someone.”
Surprise lingered over Wilder’s face. Adrienne had managed to bring his family together and here he was, tearing it apart.
“If you can’t stand to hear about me and Lycell, then you had better get used to the idea because I’m not leaving you, or your brothers, because I’m having Lycell’s pups and after that, I having Drayton’s. Now do what you want with that information.”
The shock of the news was riveting. Wilder fell into a chair. Adrienne wasn’t sure but she knew from the last pregnancy that it could be true. She had the same nausea as before. Now she couldn’t tolerate Wilder and his narrow thinking. She didn’t want to be harsh and cold but no one understood how she felt except Drayton. Maybe he would be on her side.
“Well it is what you wanted. Now you have it,” she said in a bold confident voice. When she looked up she saw Drayton smiling a broad smile and laughing.
“I came in to see what all that noise was about,” Drayton said to Wilder. “But I should have known that you were here. Whenever Adrienne is enraged it’s because of you or Lycell.”
“Did you know that Lycell left to rescue Adrienne and that he slept with him after she had my pups?”
“I knew Lycell rescued Adrienne, and that she was in labor, and they retreated to the cave. Why do you say pups when there is only one?” He asked Wilder.
“Because Adrienne had two and because Lycell was less concerned about getting them home safely than mating with her, one of the twins wandered away.”
“Don’t call Adrienne her as if she doesn’t exist,” Drayton said forcefully.
“I can take care of myself,” Adrienne said stepping in between Wilder and Drayton.
“You could never take care of yourself,” Wilder said looking down at Adrienne. “If it hadn’t been for me covering you up, you would have frozen to death under that tree.”
“If you hadn’t run in front of my car, I wou
ld have been home with my parents and fiancé away from this craziness and you wolves.”
“Stop it! Stop it!” Drayton said. “I went to town and there is a picture of you in San Francisco’s local newspaper. It says you were kidnapped or abducted. Your then fiancé said when he woke you were gone.”
Adrienne fell on the bed. “How dare Paul say that? He knew I was leaving him and he could guess why. Now they are going to think that someone took me against my will. And people will be looking for me. I won’t be able to show my face in town.”
“Then you will have no choice but to stay with us,” Drayton said. He turned to Wilder, “Who is that girl? She’s attractive.”
“Your brother brought her here to be a nurse.” Adrienne’s brown eyes shot to Wilder. “Someone for Lycell to relieve his tension and take his mind off of me. But he was too late. Lycell got to me. Now Wilder is angry,” Adrienne said playful.
“Why are you angry? Isn’t that what you wanted?” Drayton said trading glances with him.
“I’m leaving to find my son. Take care of her until I return. Don’t do anything and I mean nothing until I return.” And Wilder wheeled around to walk out of the room, and in the doorway stood Lycell with the child in his hand. He handed the baby over to Wilder. Wilder didn’t say a word. He smiled, kissed the baby on the forehead and lay him down to sleep with his brother. Adrienne rushed to the baby to check if everything was OK. She held his hand, examined his fingers and touched his hair and legs.
“I need a meeting with you two,” Wilder said trading glances with Drayton and Lycell. Their eyes surveying each other. “We have to talk about a few things,” Wilder continued.
“I agree,” Lycell said watching at Wilder.
Drayton and Lycell filed out of the room behind Wilder. Adrienne rushed to pick up the dark haired baby and feed him.

“Because of Lycell’s reckless behavior and lust, we have a war on our hands,” Wilder said sitting down at the long wood carved rectangular table. Drayton and Lycell sat after him. Lycell sitting his left and Drayton to his right.
“What are you angry about?” Lycell said, heated eyes flashing in Wilder’s direction.
“That wolf you killed was in charge of large territories in Oregon, and because of you, his pack has no Alphas.”
“What would you have me do? Let him kill Adrienne.”
“You started this with that insane party. I want you to take over his territory,” Wilder said to Lycell. Lycell’s brow furrowed. “Since when have you been so concerned about Adrienne? You probably mated with her to prove a point,” Wilder said leaping to his feet and snarling at Lycell with raised teeth.
“Isn’t this what you wanted?” Lycell said, his eyes blazing and then standing.
“Wait a minute. Don’t you hear yourselves? We have bigger problems than who slept with Adrienne. We have packs with no leaders and no laws. We have to do something about that,” Drayton said standing in between Lycell and Wilder.
“Lycell will have to go to Oregon and settle the matter,” Wilder said.
“I can’t go.” Wilder sat and glanced up at Lycell.
“Why can’t you?”
“Because Adrienne is with my pups now, and I need to be around her to protect her. I’m not about to leave her. I’m not the lone wolf like you, needing nothing and no one.”
Wilder looked at Lycell and broke into a hardy laugh. He turned to Drayton and laughed loud and hard, his eyes tearing. “She is a female and she knows what to do,” Wilder said. He never used those words since he and Adrienne had been together, but they had been too long apart and he changed. He felt a presence and when he looked up, Adrienne was standing and looking down on them sitting in the open room. She heard what Wilder said and rushed back to her room.
Wilder stood. “I have to talk to Adrienne.” He bound up the stairs and knocked on her door. She didn’t say a word. He rushed through the door. “Didn’t you hear me knock?”
“I heard you. I just don’t want to see you.” He walked to Adrienne sitting in the chair.
He went to his knees. “You have me begging for your forgiveness. Are you satisfied?”
“No. I want you to apologize and never call me a female as if that’s my name. My name is Adrienne Ward. And I want to be married.”
“When? You tell me when and I’ll do whatever you want,” Wilder said still on his knees his excitement taking over.
“I want to be married to you...” she paused, “and Lycell, and Drayton.”
“I thought you were against being the wife or whatever you call it in human terms, the mate to my brothers. What made you change your mind?”
“Lycell changed my mind. And I want you to send Mena away.”
“That maybe a little more difficult than I thought,” Wilder said. “I promised her father that she would marry Lycell or Drayton.”
“I’m having his babies and you are planning on him marrying Mena.”
“She can’t have pups, she’s sterile, and when you have the pups you will give them to her and him.”
“Have you lost your mind, Wilder? A mother doesn’t do that kind of thing unless she has to. Did you do this on purpose?” Wilder looked up at Adrienne staring into his eyes. He held her hands in his and kissed the palms of her hands. “I couldn’t bear to share you with them and I thought that you didn’t want Lycell. I had to do something.” Adrienne withdrew her hand from his.
“And you did. You have created another problem for everyone. You need to stop thinking and controlling our lives. Give them a chance to tell you what they want. I need you to go and talk with Drayton and Lycell and ask them if they want to be with me.”
“I can do that. When I return, will you sleep with me tonight?”
“I don’t know, I promised Drayton that I will go to his room. He needs me.”
“I need you too, and you are my mate,” Wilder said with a despondent voice.
“You created this and you will learn to share,” Adrienne said easing down to the floor with Wilder on the dark brown bear rug. All across the floor wonderful fur rugs of animal skins were thrown over the hardwood floors, making it warm and comfortable in the room. There was a large stone fire across from her bed. The babies were asleep in the room on a different wing and Mena slept there with them, feeding and taking care of their needs.
With the lights low and the house quiet, Wilder lay across from Adrienne. It had been months since he enjoyed her body. He opened her white silk robe and she had no clothing underneath. Her body warm and inviting begging him to come closer, and he did. He leaned over her. “I’ve been waiting for you it seems so long.” His eyes sparkled with anticipation. He leaned into her lips and she drew in his long tongue and it clashed with hers. His mouth took control of her tongue and he sucked it hard.
He gave her a soft kiss on her lips and taking in her scent he lowered his head to her bosom. Reaching for her breasts, still tender, and swollen with milk, he kissed each nipple softly. He placed his hands between her legs and his finger circled her bud. Adrienne glanced up at him and said, “I know what you want and she pushed him off of her and he lay on his back.
She kissed each muscle on his chest as she took his long hard full penis in her hand. She stroked, massaged it gently until he opened his mouth with a passionate moan. Then she eased her head down ever so slowly kissing his stomach, holding his penis, looking up at him, she kissed it, letting her tongue make circles around the head until she heard him whimper. He groaned from the fullness of his cock and the pain of having it unsatisfied for so many months. He never felt as alive and human as when he made love to Adrienne, and when she made love to him.
Chapter 4
Lycell paced left and right, his footsteps light in front of the closed door. He decided to knock. “What do you want?” Wilder said irritated.
“I’m coming in.” He opened the door before Wilder could stop him. “I need to know that Adrienne is OK.”
“Why wouldn’t she
?” Wilder asked. Then Wilder’s feet hit the dark wood floor and he stood pushing his arms through his bathrobe, tied the belt, and walked to the door facing Lycell. “See, she is fine.” He stepped to the side. Wilder smiled opening the door wide enough for Lycell to smell and see what had transpired in the room. The bed in disarray and Adrienne appearing from under the covers with rosy cheeks and looking radiant with her silken hair and sparkling brown eyes. Clearly she was naked and she smiled and lowered her head. “Tell this love sick pup that you are OK.”
“I’m OK Lycell,” Adrienne reassured him and he stood waiting and gazing at her. He didn’t know why he stood so long. He didn’t know why he couldn’t leave the room. “What is it Lycell,” she said to him.
His mind wandered. He remembered when he made love to her in the cave. He coughed into his fist, and then he said, “Do you want to go for a ride with me today?” He stood looking at her smiling. I bought you a mare.” Lycell saw her forehead wrinkle and her head tilt. “It’s gentle I promise.”
“She is pregnant and she shouldn’t be riding on a horse. You haven’t been yourself since you got back and mated with her,” Wilder said sitting in the chair, crossing his arms, and peering at Lycell.
“I can answer that question,” Adrienne said looking and smiling at Lycell. “I can’t go horseback riding, but I will go on a picnic with you.” Wilder stood back glancing at Adrienne and observing them trading smiles with at each other. He wanted them to be a family but it had gone beyond what he planned. He enjoyed when they were at odds with each other. Wilder hoped Lycell would find someone else, and as far as Drayton was concerned, he never gave him a serious thought.
